Welcome aboard ladies.
Please be seated, you may undo your seatbelts as soon as you see the SWI sign light up.

I'll be coming round with cake, biscuits and wine.

Come on girls, we can do it this month.

Heads held high and legs akimbo, off we go.

Chunky not that, it's that doctors talk to you like an intelligent adult when you are a teacher, or so it seems to me anyway.

Sorry been MIA recently. Trying not be too obsessive about this TTC malarky this month. Too many people to write individual comments to after a couple of weeks. Just hope you all have a good month.

CD13 here. Almost cried yesterday when I had been out for a wee run/swim to come hope to spotting. So disheartening when I've been doing almost everything right this month. However the spotting was like CM jelly (TMI?!)with only a little brown and it's now disappeared. Just discovered what I think is some stretchy EWCM AND my dh is coming home today after working away so hopefully I will be ovulating soon. He might be away again on Monday so let's hope I don't ov late.

Chunkychicken · 03/03/2012 09:12

Oh dear QTPie that's a shame, although, whilst I quite understand the inclination towards acceptance that AF will come, it isn't over until the fat old bag sings!!

Pipbin do you think they think you're deserving of sympathy then, as a teacher? :)

Primal I am 36 so I think they understand that we need to get things moving.
Also I have found that in all aspects health GPs have been nicer to me since I've been a teacher.

Poor you cejay that's never good but esp when TTC :( I got cystitis the first month we were TTC exactly at the wrong time...

Cejay8 · 02/03/2012 17:16

Struck down by a sickness bug at the very worst time of the monthSad. It's day 13!

PrimalChic · 02/03/2012 14:58

Congratulations MrsC!!

AF has gone, I'm taking my temperature every morning (6.15am!) and the SWI will start this weekend and continue until we get a BFP or AF returns. Not taking any chances this month but I think the novelty will wear off for poor DH by week 3!

So glad things have come up well with the tests pipbin and it's great your doc is putting you forward, ours say come back in 2 years...

Chunkychicken · 02/03/2012 12:43

I thought the cheapy tests were not as sensitive & believe sensitives are only really accurate from 11dpo ddas so there is a glimmer of hope. And I think you're right, it is easier getting AF than BFN (or BFP then AF/MC anyway...) rather than being disappointed & just waiting for AF to show up. I shall only be testing if I'm late... Fingers crossed for you.

ddas · 02/03/2012 10:19

congrats mrsC and glad to here results all ok pipbin must be a weight off your mind.
I'm driving myself slightly nuts on this 2ww!! 10dpo now and symptom spotting like crazy with tender breasts, nausea (esp in the evening), increased cm etc ..... After saying that would hold out this month till AF showed I cracked and used an internet cheapie I had left and poas-BPN :( so guessing the may not be my month again. quite upset about it and wished I hadn't-think seeing AF come is easier than seeing a BPN so should have got rid of all preg tests to avoid temptation!! with this one nearly convinced myself that could see a faint line and did the whole putting in the light and different angles lol but pretty sure it's not there. sorry for the moan but can't tell DH yet as he'll be really disappointed and guess there's still hope as temps still way up above cover line-maybe just tested too early.

CandyPop · 01/03/2012 20:07

Good news pipbin ... Def moving in the right direction.

Wow this conceiving malarkey is very complicated Confused , we should all get a degree in conception after this!

Well i have read that those little swimmers can survive up to 7 days after DTD , so hopefully BD earlier in the week would result in a few strong swimmers still lurking around and then maybe sneak a quick BD tonight and another on Saturday! I'm spreading my bet!

Also read (yes google has become my best friend!) that DTD every day may not be the best way as it may lower the sperm quality and therefore every other day is probably better?!

Seriously, crazy grin and hugging everyone on this crazy flight I'm so glad I have u girls to share my obsession with. If I discussed half of this with DH, I'm sure he will think I've gone bonkers and most def reconsider having a baby with a mad woman Wink

Chunkychicken · 01/03/2012 19:40

That's good news Pipbin glad things are moving in the right direction.

TheNewMrsC · 01/03/2012 19:27

Oh that's great pipbin do you feel your moving in the right direction now ? I'm still hanging about here until I start believing !! Probs be once go confirms it for me haha !!Grin

Pipbin · 01/03/2012 17:36

congratulations to MrsC

I have just come back from the doctors getting the results of my day 21 and day 2 blood tests and they were fine. GP is going to say that we have been trying a year, which it isn't quite and refer us.
So pleased that my results were OK.

Candy I am still getting my head around all the ovulation signs, but as I understand it you can ovulate anywhere from 12-36 hrs after the LH surge tested by the OPKs & assuming you get/monitor EWCM, I believe it'd recommended that you DTD every night for 3 nights over that fertile period. I only started using OPKs this month myself, & found what I thought was full-on fertile CM Sunday night, OPK said PJ was rising, then OPK on Monday indicated a positive/peak/surge. Seeing as the CM has gone back to 'creamy' thereafter (if that's not TMI) I'm really hoping I ovulated soon after the peak Monday evening. Particular as we haven't DTD since!!

I use an app to track AF & such & it automatically sets ov at cd14 of a 28 day cycle i.e. the average. It's obvious to see that very few women are actually average - although I think I ovulated on cd15 of a 29 day cycle, so pretty average!!! Hmm

Hth :)

combatqueen · 01/03/2012 16:01

Yay, congratulations on your BFP. Fingers crossed for lots more to come.

I have ages to wait too, i'm on CD9 and my average ovulation day (although only been charting for two cycles) is CD18. DH and I have booked 4 nights away in Wales (CD16-CD20), he thinks we will be doing lots of walking and climbing Snowdon. I plan on us spending the whole time BDing! Wink

Candy if you just noticed the EWCM today then it's definitely worth DTD on Saturday (or maybe when you get back from dinner tomorrow night!). The egg lives for about 24 hours after ovulation so the opportunity will still be there at that point!

And don't worry about obsessing - I'm only on cycle 3 but pretty much can't think about anything else!!

CandyPop · 01/03/2012 14:20

TheNewMrsC I shall go with that logic as my guidance :) thank u !

TheNewMrsC · 01/03/2012 13:59

candy I usually have ewcm for around 2-3 days and I count ov day the following day if that's any help ??Smile

CandyPop · 01/03/2012 13:41

Thanks PandaWatch , that's really helpful ! Darn!!! No rest for the wicked then, better get back into it!! Although DH is out tonight and we are out for dinner 2mo... Eek I might miss the boat this month :(

How long from when u have EWCM can u expect to ovulate ? hmmm I might invest in OPK next month if I don't get lucky this month

Ah this is my cycle#1 and I'm already obsessing... Not good Confused

TheNewMrsC · 01/03/2012 11:37

Thank you so much ladies !!! I so did not expect that at all I got so used to just randomly testing and getting bfn I jut expected that to be another !!! Especially since af isn't due until Monday . I'm trying not to get excited until i get it confirmed off gp .

I hope I bring you all luck and we all get out BFP this month !!! Good luck everyone !!!Grin

PandaWatch · 01/03/2012 11:21

CandyPop is it stretchy as well as clear and does it look like egg whites? If so this is known as egg white cervical mucus (EWCM) and is the fertile mucus (sorry if I'm telling you stuff you already know!).

EWCM usually comes before ovulation so might be an indicator that you haven't ovulated yet. AFAIK you should DTD all the time you have EWCM. Remember that those calculators work on the assumption that you ovulate right in the middle of your cycle and you might, in fact, ovulate later.

CandyPop · 01/03/2012 11:07

Ah whoop whoop mrsc!! First one of the flight... Hope it's first of many Smile

Right ladies I have a question.... So I'm just using my app to predict fertile days, my cycle in average is 30 days gave or take a day or 2. So according to app my fertile days are between cd12 and cd16.

However I also read somewhere that u should look out for colour of discharge (apologies for spelling it outright, unsure of the acroymn for it!) and that clear discharge is a sign that ur fertile.

I am now on cd 19 so according to app I've passed my fertile days BUT i noticed I have clear discharge ?!! What does that mean ?! Did the app miscalculate ?! Shall I DTD a few more times ( was hoping to have a few days break to catch my breath!!! Lol)

PandaWatch · 01/03/2012 10:37

Congratulations MrsC - what fab news!
