Smacket on, ladies...

aaaand breathe

Did the blood tests on monday, including the fancy one that tells you how many eggs you have left or something (A-something?). No results yet, I was told the nurse would call me tomorrow. I've also had a scan which mainly consisted of a good rummage with the probe-thingy and then telling me everything was fine. I did not enjoy the rummage, it hurt!

HSG next week. I am a bit nervous. I was told the scan wouldn't hurt and it did, so what will my response to the one which is actually meant to hurt be?

Mothering Sunday to get through first, that'll be fun. My mum, MIL and my DD - I suspect competitive granny-ing will occur.

At least I have something fun to look forward to. Alton Towers! The last time I went I was 18 and had just finished my A-levels [old git emoticon]

ScrambledSmegs · 14/03/2012 14:01

Generic how are you doing? Oaty muffins sound lovely, mmm...

Maybe your colleagues are arses Shock Do you think they're just being more twattish than usual because they know you're leaving? Or are they always like that? If you do go in, any chance you can go and loiter pestilently by the worst offender? Assuming that what you have is contagious of course!

Cupcakes love your mum's logic! Clearly she is a rat-smacker to the core Grin And fwiw, I totally agree with her!

whimsical hurrah for pant-snot! Of course this will be the month

bartlett I am vair impressed by your use of the defriend button. Definitely no need to post scan photos on facebook!

Sparkle I see what you're saying about Conceive Plus. Is there any way you can make SWI less of a chore though, so avoiding the whole fed-up phase? I know DH prefers a modicum of pretend spontenaity, so sometimes I, ahem, read a naughty book in order to get myself in the mood and jump him Blush . Sorry, TMI...

Beedle I'm sure CD11/12 will be fine for you. My hsg falls on CD12 so I'm hoping we'll be ok too

stasi Are you still here? Hoping all is well with you.

Right. Did I miss anyone?

ScrambledSmegs · 14/03/2012 13:40

Afternoon! SporadicSmegs checking in at last. Crikey, I really need to NC soon, my name is even making me feel ill at times. Shame I have no imagination.

I have missed loads so in no particular order -

Pop yay for midwifery approval! How long till your scan? Am well excited for you Grin . And have to admit to being a bit Shock at your SIL. Very self-centred of her. I hope her DC gets better soon though.

bean that is a talented child you have, climbing through a dog-flap! It hasn't occurred to DD to squeeze through the old cat-flap yet, just as well as she would definitely get stuck! Interesting about your CBFM giving you only one 'high' day - have you been using it for more that one cycle? I'm on my first cycle using it, so all advice is good.

Scarlett of course you've tested too early! Think positive and test again at the weekend. BFP's and joyful chicken-dancing will occur Ooh, that photo of your former best mate sounds equally gross and hilarious. My pregnancy yoga class had loads of 'arty' pregnancy photos on the walls, some were ok but one in particular should have made use of cropping and photoshop. The stretchmarks! The minge! The horror!!!

far loads of brooking for you at 3:45!

Green sorry to hear about the NK cells, although great that you can now be treated. It does sound scary when they have to warn you about side-effects, and I can imagine it must be worse if you actually have medical training. But everything will be fine, you are a rat-smacker after all!

Imps, ooh, I love a good home alone night! Was it fun? OBEM is a bit close to the bone for me these days, although I loved it while pg with DD Hmm I normally indulge in my guilty pleasure, american crime-procedural dramas with pseudo-scientific montages. It's shit, I know it is, I don't care Grin

OK. I'm going to take a quick break and re-read then post again. I know I've missed out loads of you, RL is being a pain but basically I've been crap. Sorry all Sad

Imps7 · 14/03/2012 13:37

Oh. My. God. Seriously Maybe?? You forgot to cancel a room booking? You forgot??? You actually FORGOT?? No wonder your colleague is pissed off - I mean, surely you can't be surprised that they have arseache about something as serious as that. It's a sackable offence in these parts. You're on a slippery slope, I'm sorry to say - today it will be forgetting to cancel a room booking, tomorrow it will be drugs, alcohol and petty crime.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 14/03/2012 13:14

Pop that's great news!! So excited for you!

Far you're going to be great at 3.45. I second Scarlett and Generic with regards to the dinner.

Sorry about the BFN Scarlett it's only a matter of time before you find an agreeable pee-stick Smile

Thanks for all the well-wishes everyone. My colleagues are total jerks, just got an incredibly arsey email off of one of them because I forgot to cancel a room booking I had made. I think I might jut force myself in tomorrow, it really isn't worth the stress this is putting me under by not being in. It seems like it is better to be ill at work, than getting better at home.

Hope you make the afternoon Sparks Smile

Far will the work people at the dinner know you had a medical appt this afternoon? If so, you could say you went to the dentist and they have prescribed antibiotics for an infection. Otherwise, I second Scarlett's suggestion.

ScarlettInSpace · 14/03/2012 12:33

far can you have a little nap when you get back from the scan? So long as you have a half full glass of wine in front of you, no-one tends to notice much if you are really drinking the water Wink

farfallarocks · 14/03/2012 12:19

Yes I will although I have a work dinner tonight so will either be skipping off to that and wondering how to hide the non drinking or at home wallowing but I am brooking no argument it will be the first scenario.

On a separate not I have no idea how I will stay awake for a dinner as I was in bed at 830 last night Shock

GenericDietCola · 14/03/2012 12:09

Oh Far what a long time for us you to have to wait! I hope it flies by and you have a lovely, lovely scan this afternoon. At least you can go straight home afterwards (can you?).

farfallarocks · 14/03/2012 11:53

thanks for the brooking everyone, why oh why did I not book a 9am scan, I have learnt my lesson for next time, waiting is utter torture.
Have convinced myself last night it was all doomed I have woken up feeling really really positive today, let's hope it lasts!

Lots of brooking vibes for 345pm please :)

scarlett definitely too early%
pop great news about cool midwife appointment and scan coming up, that has gone quickly hasn't it?

facebook - I don;t get it at all, why would you do that, I would be way too supersticious at any stage I am afraid. And Demi Moore style photos, blerugh.

GenericDietCola · 14/03/2012 11:45

Yay Pop you are a PSEAMWAPP (pee-stick-endorsed-and-midwife-approved-pregnant-person)!

PopcornMouseInBoots · 14/03/2012 11:35

I'm now MW-approved! :o

Scan should have been booked by the GP apparently, so she'll sort it tomorrow for some time before the end of the month (yay)

CupcakesAndCocktails · 14/03/2012 11:35

Scarlett sorry about the BFN, it's just way too early. My positive last month would have been at about 16 dpo.

btw my mum told me she knows I will get a BFP this month Grin her logic is that she always struggled ttc and the only month she ever got diffed was in march. Now who can argue with that kind of logic?! This is MY (and all of ours) month Grin

CupcakesAndCocktails · 14/03/2012 11:29

Olives as a few other ppl have said, yourself included, the treatment for cleft lip and palate is excellent these days. Its something that still makes me tearful when i see little ones with it as it starts me thinking about how poor treatment was years ago and also about children in developing countries who are not lucky enough to get treatment a lot of the time.

Gah I'm so hormonal, bloody AF!

Maybe are you any better yet? I'm getting worried about you. Don't feel bad about having time off. Your colleagues are jerks if they make you feel bad.

Sparkles I feel your pain! I had iirc 11 days of highs before finally getting my peak last month. MrCupcakes was exhausted Wink I use preseed or conceive plus as during rat smacking times I can't be bothered making sure I'm ready ifykwim Blush

Imps are you enjoying having the house to yourself?

Bean GrinGrin am loving your DS's tricks. I guess you can't leave him alone for a second. Well done on the swimming.

ScarlettInSpace · 14/03/2012 11:29

Thanks imps have bought, and can indulge without too much guilt...
Managed to change payment method just in time, don't think that's what OH bought me an Amazon Gift Card @ Crimbo for spending on Blush

You are both right, was too early still have nagging in head that this isn't my month, but hey my birthday is near Crimbo and who wants to lose the spotlight? Will most likely have baby in February along with 101 other family members which already makes the shortest month the most fricking expensive

Just got a letter confirming hycosy results and had to share this sentance with you all:

'There is a slight increase in the pregnancy rate over the first 2-3 cycles after the procedure. I hope you will take advantage of this before we meet again.' What a polite way of saying go forth & multiply Grin

See am Grin ing again! Leads a chorus of 'what do we want? Agreeable peesticks'...

On the FB topic, my former best friend [former for reasons I can't be arsed to go into] is 7 months diffed and apparently posted a demi moore style photo on FB a couple of weeks ago [really needs a puking emoticon]. She's not exactly a small girl to start with [now needs a cruel witchy emoticon]. One of my friends has hidden her updates now, she says it was a step too far...

GenericDietCola · 14/03/2012 11:27

Scarlett if the wind changes direction your face will stay like that...

GenericDietCola · 14/03/2012 11:27

Oh yes I'm with Imps re the cheapies - it's always worth having a go on a stick when you only paid £3 for 20! I think I may confirm my obvious pregnancy next Wednesday, which is 21.3.12. I like the date!

ScarlettInSpace · 14/03/2012 11:13

[puts Angry on hold to send big Grin 's and hugs to far & pop ]

[goes back to being Angry ]

Imps7 · 14/03/2012 11:12

I would advise that you invest in a job lot of cheap as chips internet cheapies so that you can pee to your heart's content. While it's still a bummer to get a BFN, at least you don't have to be cross about peeing on a fiver (unless you use all of the tests at the same time which really would be foolish behaviour).

Too early Scarlett - it ain't over yet :)

CupcakesAndCocktails · 14/03/2012 11:12

I'm trying a new tactic of reading a few posts then replying so I don't forget everything!

Olives sorry to hear about the NK cells but am glad you have something you can treat iyswim. It's understandable that your worried about side effects etc. I think doing the job we do makes us more aware of these things. How are you feeling about it all now?
I was thinking about you the other day as in my new job I work closely with A & E. If we are not busy we have to go work there for the last few hours of our shift. I ended up there on Monday night. It was an eye opener to say the least! Luckily there were plenty of kids for me to help out with as I'd be lost looking after adults Confused

Bartlet I'm a paediatric nurse. Luckily I was seen by the SPR and the consultant. I really didn't want the SHO having a look as well Grin

Btw I'm totally with you about people who post scan pics etc on FB. I've started unsubscribing from the hundreds of pregnant friends on there. On the other hand I have quite a few friends who are pregnant who don't post anything on FB about it. Tis very refreshing!

GenericDietCola · 14/03/2012 11:01

Oh bugger Scarlett. Just too early though, I'm sure.

Maybe how are you feeling today?

Pop hope the mw appointment goes well and you get a scan date soon. Your pg seems to be flying by!

Just popped on quickly to brook for Far today.

ScarlettInSpace · 14/03/2012 10:59

+OPK on Saturday so prob Sunday, so 10 DPO... Not really feeling it this month tbh, despite magic hycosy am very Angry with myself which is not like me and is probably cos I am ratty and pre-AF [needs another Angry ]

Imps7 · 14/03/2012 10:53

What DPO Scarlett?
