Thanks you lot - Generic, Smegs, Pops - all the darn lot of you Brookers. You jolted me into action. Phoned the docs again. They did do referral on 29 Feb (lucky for some but perhaps not for beans) - and I should have heard back within a week. No one told me this when I rang a few days ago. Yap. Yap. So I shot the messenger poor woman, but they are chasing. It really does seem like it's not 'meant to be'.

Generic - tbh I don't feel that I'm having a bad time at all. I daily think how sad I'd be if I'd lost a LO at any stage and that's not my story so I'm pretty lucky. It really upsets me to hear people's stories of loss - but I keep brooking that everyone here will get a happy ending. Just wish I wasn't fighting with the NHS (and that DP had firework spermies but hey-ho he's a top-notch bloke and his spermies got us our fantastic DS so I have to keep sight of the fact that's a wonderful duo to hang out with!)

Today I say feck the GPs and feck the hospital unit. Tbh I don't think I need my tubes checked it's just the last thing on the list as all other test results are pretty good (apart from DP's of course; boo to that). I rang GPs to check that they had actually made a new referral (useless GP couldn't do it during app' because he said he didn't have his 'card' for the system ) and I was assured they had done a referral from reception. No idea who I would phone at the hospital. Smegs - am impressed that you live in London and are getting great service. My original HSG was booked for King's but they must be super busy and it's standard to cancel. The new one is supposed to be at the local hospital - they don't do IVF so would have thought no waiting list... I could get private hycosy for £300. Or just take a break like Whims says, but now that I am nearly 40.5 a break seems like more than a massive luxury - just plain idiocy (but TTC at this grand old age seems pretty daft when I ever stop to think about it). I think it's just time to wean myself off the supps and the TTC 'mindset' but keep shagging round ov time. DP reassures me he's q happy to oblige though I still feel like his guitar holds more allure. (Oh, dear, I am being a bit of a miserable cow, sorry, don't know why. Had a nice swim and even bought some clothes today. Ov day coming along Friday/Saturday so no need to be moody.)

Gah Bloody GP's are stupid!

OH has SA on 20th Feb and they have been resolutely saying results not back so he eventually after me nagging for a week rang the hospital and they said the results are there but the GP's looking in the wrong place, so he's the rung the GP's again and the receptionist said they don't know what he is talking about and can he ring the actual GP tomorrow at noon, and I know she will be bloody busy and never ring back, they always are and they have made me again!

Smegs what a lovely long catch up! I will brook that your HSG will be painless. FWIW I hate dildocam as much as you and find it uncomfortable. Mind you, I have a backwards (retroverted) uterus, so I think they have to dig about a bit to scan me - yuck.

Re FB I hate the scan pics too and like Whim said, I have some friends who subscribe to those 'My pregnancy week by week' things so each week I get a sickening 'My baby is now the size of a drop of dew on a little cutesy baby leaf... blah blah... yuck yuck'. If you want those updates for yourself then fine, just don't subject your bitter friends to them.

Oh that's rubbish bean. So sorry, it doesn't sound like you're getting very good service. I think I am very lucky - my local hospital, as well as having excellent maternity services, has a great fertility clinic. I'm in London too, you;d think the wait would be longer. Is there anything like that near you, or are you condemned to being stuck dealing with your GP's unless you go private?

Smegs - that was first month with CBFM. It fitted with what I've read about waning fertility - less 'fertile window' days to get up the duff as various hormones have dropped off with age... But I'm lucky I got my peak - was exactly the same with digital CB sticks, although I peaked on CD11 with CBFM and usually got a on CD12 but had particularly short cycle last month. Anyway - good luck. I hope it helps you. I'm not sure it makes any difference to us, but I'm holding off until first peak with the possibly misguided belief that the spermies will be livelier.

You're lucky about HSG, Smegs - mine was booked in January for April 2 and then of course cancelled without explanation. I went back to docs 2 weeks ago and they promised to book again - haven't heard a thing since. So sick of dealing with GPs on this topic I will probably go private, if I can be arsed at all as I'm now beginning to think TTC is a waste of effort for us . Anyway - CD12 seems like the perfect day (as long as you don't ov early)...

Waves at everyone else - have read all your posts and am thinking of all of you. I will experiment with the carrot cake - one in oven one in microwave - and give you results. I'm not a fan of the microwave at all. Am being nice to my neighbour. Lord knows why. She can be a grumbly old fartface sometimes, and her dog is out at night yapping at foxes (while ours is snug in her crate). (Yes - the bean can be v evil when she feels like it. Demi Moore friend needs a bucket of cold water I think. Take that.)

Hello everyone. Can I just agree with what everyone else said, and not name check everyone?

I'm ashamed to say I have been guilty of the FB scan pic sin in the past. But only after 20 week scan. But then I don't go on about it. Well, I don't think I do. A friend of mine has been doing weekly bump photos and incessant updates, including making tactless pg related comments on everyone else's comments. For example, I posted that I had greasy teeth (had been drinking, seemed funny at the time) to which she replied 'ooh, have you been eating butter? You must be pg'. Needless to say, I no longer subscribe to her updates. I think the odd update is ok, after all, it is what's on your mind. But it does go on a bit with some people.

And yes, I do still get a tear in my eye when someone has yet another beautiful baby.

Still, I think we now all have carte blanche to put a gazillion pics up of our scans, bumps, babies, pee sticks, ramekins the lot once we get our bfps.

DH and i were joined in bed at 1am by a vomitty 7 year old, which rather spoilt the post coital snuggle. Still, it's a good excuse for not having got any work done.
