Oh little yes its like a big white baby elephant in the room isn't it? I know DH found it quite freaky for a bit. I was on the pill but friends who used condoms before TTC said it was even weirder as obviously it was suddenly very very different. Can you pretend and just say look lets just not try not prevent for a while and just enjoy eachother's bodies (barf) and as imps says, do some fun stuff together I am sorry you are feeling so down, I can emphathise totally and it sucks.

imps that cottage pie sounds amazing, we should do a brookers cookery book!

Thanks again for all the congrats, Sweetie beedle ninja biscuits and everyone else I have missed.

duke I was either 9, 10 or 11 dpo, not sure as I don't temp but I think it was 10dpo and it was a first response 6 days early one. FX for you :)

Did another FR this am and much darker and came up quickly and then I shoved it in DH's face and it was 4am because I needed a wee and did not want to waste FMU . First self injected heparin passed without incident and was painless, in fact less so than when the nurse did it, hooray. It has certainly taken the edge of what would have been a grim day.

Passes round some blueberry muffins

Imps7 · 24/02/2012 07:32

Little, I think everyone would love a normal sex life again! But you're right - you can't really separate the two. That said, given that the fertile period is only 5 days, there's no reason why the other 25 days of the month can't be "normal". Maybe you could say to your DH that you agree that it would be brilliant to have a normal sex life, but that the reality is if you both want to have a baby, there's a limited time to achieve that so part (and a very small part at that) of the month is inevitably going to have to be about that.

I've already done a load of washing, filled the dishwasher and made lunch this morning . Don't mind if I grab a Brew on the way to the shower...

BeedleTheBard · 24/02/2012 06:58

Did someone say normal sex life? Ha ha what's that? Grin

I didn't get to say congratulations properly yesterday far, but I'm brooking like mad for you that this little bean stays put for 9 months :)

I'm enjoying a day off today, i have a couple of days holiday to use before April and I've been earning loads of flexitime with all the travelling, so I'm going shopping and getting my haircut this morning, then lazy afternoon with DP (who always finishes early on a Friday)

TheLittleFriend · 23/02/2012 20:46

bean what your dp said about sex life after dc2 is very sweet. Sounds like he is more enthusiastic about the idea there will be a dc2 now?

far, Imps, I think the issue with my dp is that he wants our sex life to be 'normal', despite ttc. I think it's pretty much impossible though. When you want a baby, and know it's sex that'll get you one, how can you possibly separate the two?

Sorry to hear of the period pains from olives, RSI from stasi & sweetie's root canal. Hope your all better soon x

duke748 · 23/02/2012 19:29

Congrats Far. I'm so pleased for you! We're all brooking for you and your little dragon baby. Grin

What DPO did you get your BFP? My fingers are itching but tomorrow is 9 dpo and still too early I think?

Imps7 · 23/02/2012 19:28

Gosh Olives I completely forgot to say sorry about CD1 earlier - here, have a belated roundkick in AF's face...and congrats on day 1 of your pregnancy! It's your month this month, lovely!

OP posts:
GreenOlives · 23/02/2012 19:23

x-posts Imps I'm doing fajitas, nice and spicy! Indian cottage pie sounds lovely. Don't do any acrobatics afterwards though - could be messy! Grin

GreenOlives · 23/02/2012 19:21

OMFG! That is AMAZING news Far! I am so pleased for you! Grin That is exactly the kind of good news I was talking about earlier - let the BFPs start rolling in I say

Cupcakes I really feel for you, sounds very like my place at the mo, no matter how hard I try I never feel like it's good enough because it's just so damn busy! Well just don't let it get you down, I can tell you're a fabulous nurse so don't ever forget that! Smile

Boo to sex fail Bean but that high day SWI may be the one for another dragon baby!

Itchy nips? Has to be a couple more dragon babies there! Grin

Well apart from bloody awful period pains I have actually had a fairly productive day! Picked up Ebay sofas for our family room and they are fab and cheap as chips I have decided that it is a positive thing that I'm not preggo until I get my test results/treatment plan and although my night away with DH won't be sex filled it can be wine/pate/cheese filled instead and food is pretty close to sex in my book! Brooking spirit and all that!

Imps7 · 23/02/2012 19:11

Well, Far, in the words of those famous philosophers, The Spice Girls, "all you need is positivity." Glad you're feeling more upbeat, I really hope that you can enjoy the feeling of being updiffed rather than wibbling with worry for the next 38 weeks. What date is your scan?

Oh Little , it's properly hard, isn't it. It's times like these that you wish men and women were from the same planet. Far is very wise in her words indeed - your DH must be hurting but can't express it like we can (or "properly" as some may say!). Take some time to enjoy being with each other and to rebuild Team Little - you need the might of both of you together to fend off AF.

What's for tea everyone? I've made an Indian cottage pie - an Anjum Anand recipe. I rate all the recipes of hers I've tried so far, but this one I'm a little less convinced about - will see what happens when it's all assembled though!

Just popping in to say a big congratulations on the B F P Far - brooking that medication helps and everything progresses well for baby dragon Grin

Been for root canal so feeling a bit zonked might be down to the 2 Valium I took to settle my nerves Blush will catch up on rest of thread laters.

farfallarocks · 23/02/2012 18:19

Many thanks musical, I am feeling very positive about this one and am brooking no argument for baby dragon :)

generic I often have those thoughts as well in meetings, on hols etc, thanks for thinking of me though

little I know exactly how you feel as you probably saw, had an awful time of it about a month ago with DH. He said the same thing, I think men feel really used and also upset and scared for you for what you have been through. They equate DTD with a baby and potentially the pain and heartbreak of a MC you have been through. But they also don't really have anywhere to vent. I am sure he does not really mean it. What worked for me was not talking about TTC at all or babies and timing sex and trying to seduce him. Luckily this feel over a weekend otherwise my chances would have been very slim indeed. Don;t underestimate how much of a blow it is to the man as well but have a squeeze from me.

Stasi imps and everyone else on shag week, have fun Wink

musicalmrs · 23/02/2012 17:57

Far, just wanted to wish you congratulations :) So glad the hospital has really stepped up too and seen you so quickly! Hope the GP will sort out the prescription for you :)

Cake, wonderful news about your scan :)

Imps, I am amazed by your gymnastic feats, as always!

beangrower · 23/02/2012 14:15

Oh dear Little poor you. Particularly hard after an MC. I hope your DH can get over that spontaneity thing. Did you resolve the talk? Maybe have a bit of SFF and lots of lovely massages etc to get everyone back in the swing of things?

I did say to DP that I can't imagine what our sex life would be like if we weren't TTC... Though I guess that doesn't help anyone, thinking like that. He was v positive and said we will find out after the next baby. Bless him

GenericDietCola · 23/02/2012 13:57

Is it weird that I was in a meeting this morning thinking 'I hope Far has been to hozzy and had her injection'? Glad you have and I'm with the other brookers in stating that you will get a dragon baby (we all will).

Cupcakes that is horrible and shocking the way you were treated on your shift. I hope you set them straight. I know they were probably worried about their child, but still. I have itchy nipples too! We are both preggo. Where are you in your cycle? I think I'm a few dpo but not sure how many exactly.

Little sorry you are having a tough time but I'm sure you will get your dragon baby too. Has your AF gone now?

Stasi · 23/02/2012 13:55

Afternoon everyone. Just a quick message from me, as I have a feeling I've got RSI! Either that, or arthritis. My hand is incredibly painful, so I'm trying to change how I do things in work, switched keyboard and mouse, and trying to use them less - or left handed.

Far that's amazing news, I'm sure everything will be fine, and you'll have yourself a dragon baby in 8.5 months!

Bean sorry about the sechsfail, keeping the 'right' time secret is a good plan I think, though my DH always asks me when it is, and is quite forceful about getting to bed on time that day :)

We're in the last few days of shag week here, with ov predicted for about 2 days time. I've not done any pee sticks this cycle, as I've been out most evenings. I was going to ask about ov pain - when do you get it? A couple of days before, or on the day? I had some twinges this morning and wondered if it could be ov, but have no real idea what I'm looking for. It just felt similar to, and in the same area, as the post HSG ache from my blocked tube. If it is ov pain then it's on the bad side, but maybe I'll have some waft-y tube magic...

Waves to everyone else. Will try and catch up at the weekend when less busy.

TheLittleFriend · 23/02/2012 13:45

Far!! I'm so very pleased for you. I hope these early weeks fly by, until you get to a point where you can relax and hopefully enjoy it a bit xxx

Sorry to hear you had a rubbish time at work cupcakes. When will you get to see dh?

And sorry to hear about the swi fail bean. It's just so hard sometimes isn't it? We haven't even had sex since the mc, and I was almost looking forward to starting again, until last night. I mentioned the CBFM to my dp and we ended up having a horrible talk about how he felt like I only wanted sex for a baby and there was no spontaneity any more. I had no idea he felt like that and ended up in tears. The thing is, I do still enjoy our sex life. But a year and a mc in to ttc, I can't help but really want the sex to get me pregnant as well!

For the record, I'd love a dragon baby.

Biscuitsandtea · 23/02/2012 13:36

That sound like it's all in hand then Far and I hope your GP stumps up the prescription. If not, we'll all be round to 'ave a word with them .

I'm 35 weeks now so hopefully not too long to go Confused

Can't wait until you're telling me that you're 35 weeks and not long to go Smile

beangrower · 23/02/2012 13:30

Grin @ Cakes - that's perfick. I shall wear mine every day in the 2ww. Or is that not in the spirit of brooking?

farfallarocks · 23/02/2012 13:29

cupcakes I can't believe someone was so rude to you, how awful, you poor thing :( Here have a nice Brew and Biscuit

biscuits yes its every day, in the tummy, I am not squemish at all so think it will ok. First presciption is private but they told me to go to the GP and get it on the NHS now as its to sustain a pregnancy and should be free (I hope so co its chuffing expensive, £200 a month!) Will see what the GP says and hope she agrees! You must be close now? Waves at ninja

Still impressed with imps' workout

maybe we will all get our dragon brooking babes, NO ARGUMENT

CupcakesAndCocktails · 23/02/2012 13:08

Ooh I want a dragon baby too! I decree dragon babies for all the brookers

Glad it went ok at the hospital Far

Bean in my head the t shirt has Mario on and says game over. I also hear the noise it makes when you die on Super Mario Grin

NinjaChipmunk · 23/02/2012 13:07

fantastic news far I'm so pleased for you. And also cakes brilliant news re your scan.

Imps7 · 23/02/2012 12:57

POSITIVE PEESTICKS!

When do we want them?

NOW!!!

OP posts:
beangrower · 23/02/2012 12:36

What do WE want?! etc

beangrower · 23/02/2012 12:36

You will Maybe, you will! What do want?

beangrower · 23/02/2012 12:35

Far - you are sounding v positive. We will all brook that this is your year, what with you getting a dragon baby and all. Pop too. What a great nurse - cheers me up to hear stories like that. Good luck with the injections.

Cups - that sounds so out of order. People are so rude. I feel for you guys - what a tough job. Brew AND Biscuit for you, if not Wine

You'll have to lend me the SWI-Fail T-shirt then; does it say "nuh-nuh" (think game-show fail noise) on it? I only got one high on cd10 before peak so we're pretty close to ov with that and it was a v nice night of SWI so I shall count myself lucky. I think a few months more patience is required for things to really work out and by then CBFM will just give me a reassuring sense that I've ov'd instead of dictating to me and frightening sweet old DP.

ITCHY nipples, you say! DIFFED.
