Hi, i'm just wondering if anyone has any experience or advice about natural sex selection? Have 3 wonderful DD's, a little DS would be the cherry on top! (Before anyone jumps in... I realise I am so lucky to have 3 healthy children, and I do realise that the sex of the baby is irrelevant).

Would be great to hear from anyone in same or similar boat xxx

Ah muddling along cd#3 cycle #26....wishing and hoping. Busy at work which keeps my thoughts from dwelling. You ok?

ArielNonBio · 15/02/2012 11:07

Yes, I know! The responses it generated Phoenix Wink

You ok?

PhoenixFromTheFlames · 15/02/2012 11:04

To be fair to the OP, it was someone else who referred to the infertility board.

ArielNonBio · 15/02/2012 11:00

Princess, I agree that some responses were unnecessary, and also that if you don't like what's in a thread title, don't go there. But, as Cave said, the use of the word "bitches", and some of the responses she generated such as the charming suggestion that barrens should stick to the Infertility forum, were, at best, annoying.

iloveberries · 15/02/2012 10:55

think prize has probably realised she's been a bit of a nob and skulked off to namechange!

CaveMum · 15/02/2012 10:40

No one has personally attacked the OP, yet she felt it appropriate to refer to other posters as "bitches".

When you post on a public forum you have to accept that not everyone will agree with your point of view.

princesss · 15/02/2012 10:35

i think she is just being defensive as some people have been very nasty and judgemental on here which is in my opinion not necessary. She asks in the first post for advice or experience and the people who have posted nastily on here have not given either on here. sometimes MN can be such a horrible forum, I don't understand why people can't say nothing if they have no actual advice to give

ArielNonBio · 15/02/2012 09:54

I think it's what she said subsequently, princess. The actual original post was fine.

princesss · 15/02/2012 09:36

also the nature of trying to gender sway a conception is frowned upon as it is not natural and is trying to play god etc

In the same vein my family do not "believe" that IVF should exist as they believe that it is playing god in the same way as gender selection.

this is NOT NOT NOT NOT something I believe at all!!! I have PCOS! But i am just using it to illustrate that everybody has different beliefs and we should respect them all whether or not we personally agree. before i started my child bearing journey i would never have considered or probably agreed with gender swaying at all, but have reconsidered throughout my journey

princesss · 15/02/2012 09:18

HI OP i dont think you are being insensitive or rude at all! if you were then surely everyone who starts a thread on here saying i am pregnant would be insensitive to those who have been ttc for a long time!

check out the website Ingender it is very detailed and has many forums with people discussing such gender sways and if they worked. the gender girl sway is very hard mainly to do with diet. there are seven factors of it. i have one living DS and two late MMC ds's, so i have conceived 3ds's too and have been told medically i can only have one more child, so i am trying to sway for a girl.

i dont think anyone on here should judge another persons opinions or struggles and if they read the title they would see the nature of it!

By the way, OP, while I had some sympathy with your initial post and the reaction to it, on reflection and re-reading, your subsequent posts have said quite a lot about you.

Hope that helps!

Kayzr · 14/02/2012 21:31

This seems to have got a little out of hand.

I can see both points of view. It is in conception and surely that should be about all conceiving. Whether you conceive easily or struggling. But I imagine to people who are struggling it is similar to the 'I don't want August/Xmas baby' threads. When they would do anything for a baby of any sex born in any month.

I didn't realise the OP had posted a similar thread recently. I think she's been out of order in the replies she's posted and starting the other thread in AIBU.

I have used the Shettles method and according to the scan it's worked. I never ever would have tried it if I would be disappointed by a boy.

OP, the best thing you could do now is apologise for calling someone a bitch. Draw a line under it all.

Good luck ttc.

PhoenixFromTheFlames · 14/02/2012 21:28

Shock bugger what did you write?!

PhoenixFromTheFlames · 14/02/2012 21:26

Oooh it's raining fish in here. Essentially, what bugs said. I hadn't realised initially op but I think I commented last time you posted. I didn't take offense at either post but suggested researching the Shettles method last time in fact Shettles came up on predicative text on my phone!
Fwiw I stand with one foot in the conception and one in the infertility forum, I have hope after two years I will some day conceive. I need the hope the conception board gives and the support that the infertility thread has. The basic message of now run along to the infertility thread is frankly offensive.
OP sometimes it's about how yiu take things...MN is not a softly softly forum. If you stick around, you'll find a great support network. But if you don't like it, no-one is forcing you to stay.

InTheSunshine · 14/02/2012 19:58

Oh dear we've barged in on this Fred haven't we?

Northey · 14/02/2012 19:58

Oh good, I was a bit worried I might have morphed from someone who started off defending her right to post into someone who represented all the evil, just because I'd kind of continued having the conversation. And that I was the arsewipe and everyone else thought so too!

ArielNonBio · 14/02/2012 19:58

Barren girl in the ring, tra la la la laah, there's a barren girl in the ring....
