"Day 16 progesterone tes"? WTF?

I have just been to the doc's to start the ball rolling after TTC for a long time. She said from what I am saying - very regular periods, monthly peaks on the CBFM - that I am ovulating but has suggested a day 16 blood test to test progesterone. Surely this is far too early? I have a 27 day cycle and normally ovulate on day 13/14. Anyone any thoughts?

It's too early. It should be around 7 days after ov. Just book the test for around day 20/21 of your cycle.

You were a bit premature with your huffing. Your post had only been up just over an hour. I almost didn't respond at all because I don't like being huffed at!
