Oh tas I'm so sorry. I hope all goes well today and that they can tell you that the other tube is fine.

Marbles - congratulations Grin that is excellent news.

Does anyone out there want to talk to me sternly about the fact that I am unlikely to be PG? Please. I have sore boobs (very) - although this could be in no small part due to the poking. AF is also late (I'm on day 28 of what is usually a 26 day cycle). I am deffo mentalling and I can't test today because I stayed over at work last night because I had lots to do the partners took us all out for a curry and I missed the last train home Grin

tits how shit of the hospitalAngry on one hand the bed may have been needed for another child but OTOH a bit of notice would have been a good thing as you have had to travel all that way with a poorly Ds and now also ill yourselfSad get better soon {{hugs}} Envy for you being 25 too thoughWink

Grin i have to go to a meeting with HR tomorrow for early release from the company (redundancy in april looming) and a meeting with the new company on wed and then i start on monday up to now!! Grin

TitsalinaBumSquash · 27/02/2012 20:19

Oh tas :( I hope tomorrow is easy as can be for you and you get the best results possible.

tasmaniandevilchaser · 27/02/2012 20:02

Reliable birth control would be celibacy!! DH is ok, he's sensitive but tough!

Decision has been taken out of my hands as blood tests today show levels of over 3000. So surgery tomorrow, in a way I'm relieved as the dodgy tube will be gone and they'll see if the other one is dodgy too, then at least I know where I stand. We could afford a couple of cycles of IVF if it came to it. Or I could accept DD is an only child....which would be very hard.

MandaHugNKiss · 27/02/2012 19:11

Oh tas

Talk about being caught between a rock and a hard place - and really not something anyone can decide for you. Although I would assume injection would be better overall wrt to avoiding a general/surgery would it mean you could be back on the ttc horse quicker, as it were if you did go surgeryt route?

As already mentioned the 'enforced' 3 month break involved with the injection could have many positives too... BUT what would you do wrt to reliable birth control in that period as, as I understand it, to fall pregnant would be pretty much doomed Sad

How is DH holding up?

tasmaniandevilchaser · 27/02/2012 17:05

Thanks for all your messages - just got back from hospital. The consultant scanned me and said I am a candidate for the surgery or the injection. I can have either tomorrow. She said it doesn't seem as if I'm in danger of rupturing, though the location means that these ectopics usually rupture by 7 wks. I'm around 6 weeks now. They're ringing me with the results of the blood tests tonight and then I'm going in for something tomorrow. I'll have to see what the blood tests. If the levels have gone down, then we can watch and wait; if they've stayed the same or gone up a bit then I can have the injection and if they've gone up a lot then surgery. Although the 'blob' has grown, progesterone levels fell between blood test 1 and 3, so the pregnancy is struggling anyway. I can hardly think straight re pros and cons of each.

FrozenNorthPole · 27/02/2012 15:55

Tas, can you contact PALS at the hospital? They can go in to fight for you ... appalled to hear this.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 27/02/2012 15:53

Tas that is shocking! How dare they? Bloody hospitals all seem to be rubbish today, but surgery due to lack of stocks is disgusting. Angry for you I really am.

I have no idea what is up with me, I assume stress, I'm blubbing I feel so ill, all of a sudden it came on, nausea and it feels like my head is in a vice Sad

WhyAlwaysBoris · 27/02/2012 15:44

tas can't believe they are doing this to you... it is bad enough to be messed around about something so heartbreaking but the idea it might be too late to do it without an op tomorrow is just horrifying. Can you ring the nurse back and clarify how high your bloods were ie how near the limit you are likely to be?
If this is a possibility then to be honest I'd be tempted to just turn up and cause a fuss before 5pm when the senior people might go home & demand it is done today even if they have to get some biked over from another hospital. Ask someone senior if they are satisfied with the level of care you have been given.
so sorry this is happening to you

farfallarocks · 27/02/2012 14:08

tas that is just unbelievable, surely there must be somewhere that stocks it and why on earth is it not in stock in a hospital anyway?? I would go down in person too if I were you and I am so sorry that this is happening and adding more stress to a stressful situation :(

bonzo so sorry to hear about your DH, I have had a similar situation with DH, not the workaholic bit (but serious work misery) and wanting to just 'relax' and not wanting to even DTD at the right time. It was a total nightmare. I don;t think men really get how all consuming TTC and early pregnancy is. hugs

leedy · 27/02/2012 13:53

Oh bloody hell tas that's ridiculous - so you might need to have surgery because they don't actually have the relevant medication in stock???? Really really hope you get sorted, you don't need this kind of shite on top of dealing with an ectopic.

tasmaniandevilchaser · 27/02/2012 13:44

Hi everyone, thanks for your messages. One more twist - nurse just called and said the methotrexate wasn't in, the order didn't go off until this morning, so it'll be in tomorrow. I am just dumbstruck. If my levels keep on doubling, then by tomorrow, it could be too late for an injection and I'll have to go in for surgery. The nurse hasn't said this, but my tiny brain can work this out. This is like a bad soap opera. I have said I want to come in today anyway and have bloods and rescan done, if it comes to it I will walk over to the other hospital, storm into the pharmacy and inject myself!! I don't even want the &^%$% injection, I want a live baby in the right place.

frozen that's great news!
titsa hope you're feeling better

leedy · 27/02/2012 13:43

(also, my birthday's in August too! Elderly Leos reprezentin', or something)

leedy · 27/02/2012 13:42

Oh, thanks pie, that's very helpful. I've also started acupuncture so hopefully that and the B vits will sort it out.

Glad to hear about another happily upduffed, er, mature lady!

bonzo77 · 27/02/2012 13:37

far fingers tightly crossed for you. We'll need to send lots of cake and magazines your way in a vain attempt to keep your mind off it till Friday.

leedy I started on the B vits this month. This cycle is definitely longer than last, though last one CD1 was the day after ERPC, so not a normal one. I think I ovulated later than normal (day 19 rather than 16 according to FF). AF is due tomorrow based on the 9 day LP last month, though I suspect that was a mc- related blip as my LP used to be 12-14 days. Not had any tingly fingers. But OTOH I am as grumpy as ever and my nails are still flakey. So who knows?Hmm

tits what a pain in the arse having to go home, when your DS needs medical care, not to mention all the arrangements you will have made to free yourself up to camp out with him for 2 weeks. Which you will have to do again, possibly with short notice. I suppose it might be that someone else needed the bed more urgently, and one feels for that child and their family too....

IQ I remember 37 weeks like it was yesterday, not 2 years ago! I was on ML and sitting about watching day time telly, meeting friends for lunch and getting facials and waxes. Ohhh, those were the days! Lots of movement is good, but a change in movement (especially if decreased) warrants attention. I went in with loss of foetal movement. Probably saved DS's life. Movement does not slow with impending labour. Sorry to be bearer of doom and gloom, but it's one of my soap-box issues. A friend of mine's DD was born asleep, she had not acted on loss of movement a few days earlier. Sad

missc that does seem like a lot of milestones in a short period of time, something about early spring for you and your family. Must be hard.

All over the place here. AF 2 days late according to CBFM which gave me a peak on day 16, or due tomorrow according to FF which thinks according to temps that I ovulated day 19. Had some very minor cramping (the sort that is so mild I might have imagined it) over the last few days. If AF does not come by Thursday I will POAS then, as I ride on Fridays and will stop if I get a BFP [unlikely emoticon]. OTOH if I get AF then I can use my groupon for cut and highlights next Friday. Reluctant to colour hair if BFP.

Really rough patch with DH at the moment. He's totally focused on work and unable to focus at home on me or DS. He works late, gets called into work on his day off. None of which can he help, but he could soften the blow by letting me know what is going on (sometimes I only know he is working late because I call to find out where he is), and being mentally present when he is at home. DS is obsessed with his daddy, and it kills me to see DH ignore him. DH also can't understand why I am still thinking about the mc, says that I didn't lose a baby it was just a ball of cells. Can't understand that the upset is about the lost potential, the waste of time, the effort TTC, the fear of it happening again. Also says he thinks I am obsessed with TTC, that everyone else he knows got pg just by having fun and not trying. Well, that's bullshit as we know one couple who had IVF, and another that took over a year. And you don't actually know what happens in people's private lives. That he's fed up of living by the rules of the thermometer and CBFM. What can one say to that? TBH sometimes I think bringing another baby into the mix is stupidity.

PieMistress · 27/02/2012 13:31

leedy my LP post MC sounds very similar to yours. I left it for a few months to see if it would sort itself out but it didn't so started acupunture (amazing am totally convinced it helped to bring my ovulation fwd from CD19 to CD14) and taking 50mg of B6 in addition to conception vits. Got BFP the months I started taking the B6 (probably co-incidence but hey, who knows!). B6 is also supposed to help increase progesterone. I knew my levels were low as i'd been having monthly CD21 tests (am 40 in August and 22w pregnant) x

TitsalinaBumSquash · 27/02/2012 13:29

I am finally home, I feel grim, I managed to vom on the train and I cannot keep my eyes open, that's stress for you!
I am tucked up on the sofa, do is looking after me.

Tiago · 27/02/2012 13:18

Thinking of you today tas.
