Hello all, oinker sounds like a plan, ch keep at the studying and everyone hope your all ok and good luck. Think im cycle day 21 and im already dying to test, too early i know, but i could do with some great news at mo . Still having vivid dreams, the jamie bulger thing is haunting me a bit. The poor thing kept getting up when they threw bricks at him and when they droped him on his head and walked away from him at the start of his ordeal he ran to them cause he thought theyd help him!!! i dont know whats come over me, but im sickened so much that its haunting me in the day too. I wish there was something i could say or do My colleegue and i were saying how awfully helpless it makes you feel, because there isnt much we can do. Sorry im going on but i cant get it out of my head and keep welling up. Do you think this is normal, bit worried about my mental state at mo.

kreamkrackers · 31/01/2006 18:06

oinker - i agree with your plan. you do what you think is best it's your body at the end of the day. i hardly see dd consultant, just before her second operation i was told she wasn't going to have it for another six months. went back six weeks later and was told she was booked in next week for her operation!
it was good in a way though as i didn't have as many sleepless nights thinking about it, but i know what you mean about having to tell each doctor what's been going on. dd has a book of notes (about 5 inches thick!) and it drives me mad that they don't even have a quick look over before calling us in. i really hope your plan works for you.

slinkstah · 31/01/2006 18:01

oinker try a ovulation microscope, you will be able to track your estrogen surge which happens just before you OV

Coathanger · 31/01/2006 17:56

I would say that you are probably OVing later in the month as your cycles are longer, but a good OV predictor will tell you. Do you have a personna?

Back later, DH wants his din dins.

I have to be nice to him he's not well ...bless

oinker · 31/01/2006 17:52

What I might do is get a really good ovulation kit and if I don't get any result by day 18 hang on a few more days just incase...
My cycles have been 31 days long so really I should be ovulating by day 16 or 17. Is that right?

Coathanger · 31/01/2006 17:52

College is fab! Tuesdays aren't a college day so spent it looking up some topics we will be covering next week in Sociology and Psychology. Biology tomorrow love biology!

Slink I have left a post on the PG after MC thread but will say it here too - Really really plesed everything went well today Its fab news!

Thansk guys......

I feel loads better knowing that others think the same way as me.

Slink I have to start the progesterone on day 18 regardless as they have said a couple of days either way would not make any difference.

CH how did you get on today?

slinkstah · 31/01/2006 17:43

hi everyone
oinker
sounds frustrating at the clinic, the doctors are suppose to be giving you advice!
i think you plan sounds like a good one, if i was in your situation i would take the progesterone later on in your cycle anyway just to make sure that you have ovulated.
i think try for 2 more times and get the blood tests done and then 3rd time don't start progesterone until you get bfp or start it a few days before AF due.

coathanger hows ya college??

hope everyone else is well

Coathanger · 31/01/2006 17:42

Oinker, Hun, I truely understand your problem with the clinic - I see a different doctor everytime I go to my Crohn's clinic. I have only seen my consultant once They always ask me what the problem is

I think the fact you are taking the Progesterone from CD18 shouldn't act as a contraceptive in theory, but that all depends on when you are OVing. Do you knwo when you OV? I would do the same as you have suggested - take the Preogesterone for 2 more cycles and if things haven't worked, stop and take it once you have a BFP.

I really hope this works for you, you reaaly deserve to have a result. Hoping and praying for you xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

oinker · 31/01/2006 17:36

Phew......It worked this time.

oinker · 31/01/2006 17:34

Lets try again........

WARNING

Get yourselves some nibbles b 4 sitting down to this one....

Went to see the prof today, only I diddn't see him I saw one of his registrars. i have only seen the prof once. Very poor considering I have been there 5 times now.
Anyhow, I aired my dissapointment when I was called and the doctor heard.. WHOOPS! Not a good start. I told him that I was not happy seeing different docs all the time and none of which knew what the other was doing andd that it was always up to me to explain. I really truly don't think that these people know what they are doing and are just 'hoping for the best' when the prescribe you something.
Anyway DH and I were left alone in the consultation room for about 5 mins whilst the registrar sought advice from the prof as I had challenged the use of the progesterone and suggested that it was acting like a contraceptive. I also pointed out the reason i was attending the clinic was to get pregnanat and not to prevent a pregnancy. He laughed...I was far from amused
Anyhow, when the guy returned he suggested i try the progesterone for a further 3 mths. He then went on to ask whether i wanted to or not. I tried explaining that I was being guided by them (I'm not the bloody professional)and by me attending the clinic showed some form of commitment and trust in them. I then asked about being tested for progesterone levels in order to tes whether I need to take them or not. They have a greed that for the next two cycles on day 23 I will attend the clinic for blood tests. They seem to think that me taking progesterone from day 18 will make no diffeence to the result as the cyclogest(progesterone) should not enter my blood stream? I am not convinced !!!!

Anyway, DH and I have decided that if I am not pg within the next 2 cycles I wil stop the progesterone on the 3rd and if I get a + will then sttart with the progesterone.?

Honest opinions do u think we should do it or just carry on with the progesterone? What would you do? I am confused
