TTC Hysterics thread!

Hi a wierd Idea but I've browsed through threads and seen that some poster feel sometimes that complaining about i.e not being pg after 2 months is insensitive to people having problems.

I can see their point , but we all need a place to let off steam without being made to feel guilty. So......

I made this thread as a perfect place to spout off any worries how silly they may seem.

Please be honest about what you think!

Hi ladies...congrats to Goldrill! Everything will be fine. Smile
So sad Sad to hear of the struggles too.
I don't really know what thread I 'fit in' with this week as its my 'fertile week' according to my phone app! Smile. Daft question ...
If we dtd every other day this week...do we carry on in to next week as well? I'm just not sure when's best....we dtd Friday & Sunday in the lead up to 'fertile week'....just don't want to miss our chances.

Trying for no 3, been trying since last August after dh had his reversal op, what's worse its probably my own fault because I made him have the snip in the first place. In some ways it's easier because I have my kids who I love utterly and are the light of my life, in some ways it's harder because I know what I'm missing :0(

Fisharefriendsnotfood · 05/02/2012 22:33

Are you trying for your 1st Roger?

I do understand that sentiment. Sometimes life isn't fair. How long are you trying? Glad that a biology lesson isn't needed Wink

rogersmellyonthetelly · 05/02/2012 21:55

Can I join in with a little rant? Everywhere I look people are getting pregnant without even meaning to and we are trying like buggery (not actual buggery as that wouldnt really work would it) and I'm still depressingly unpregnant.
Bloody soul destroying, and while I don't for a moment resent people who do get pregnant easily or by accident and am happy for them, I'm crying inside for me because I just want to feel my baby kicking inside, to hold that precious baby and smell that newborn smell :0( right, I'll drag myself out of my pit of misery..... As you were ladies.........

cherrybird1978 · 05/02/2012 19:31

Fantastic news Goldrill, have fingers and toes crossed for you. I know the worry of continued early MC's, it totally stinks! I might as well have a little rant for myself while I am here, we have been TTC for a fair while (8months) now but because I have PCOS, we have only just been given meds to help and are on the first cycle of the metformin. I know I shouldn't compare, but a relative has almost been pregnant more than she hasn't now, she has had 6 kids and seems to fall as quick as a pin drops and I feel so jealous. Then I feel guilty for feeling so jealous and think I should just be happy for her and be greatful that I have 1 DD who is happy and healthy against all odd's (born weighing less than 2lb). Sigh!

Chunkychicken · 05/02/2012 19:24

Congrats Goldrill :)

Fisharefriendsnotfood · 05/02/2012 18:58

Fantastic Goldrill Grin Grin Fingers, toes and all the bits in between are crossed for you Smile

I had a positive opk every day Monday to Friday then they went negative bit never felt ovulation and I normally do so am a bit Confused

Goldrill · 05/02/2012 18:23

morning all! (every day?!)

I have news - very quietly... I got a BFP today! Am not at all getting excitied as I am fully expecting yet another early miscarraige, and am just thinking that at least this one will get me a refferal. However, in the past, even with succesful pregnancy, I have not managed a BFP on a standard test till a few days after missed period, and mostly it was really light. Today I tested four whole days before AF due (no idea why I did it) using an ordinary kit and not a first response or anything and got a definite line straight away!

Please keep fingers crossed for me! If you don't mind, I might stick around here though because, well, you know....

Archemedes · 03/02/2012 09:38

100 ov tests??
woah at least you'll be prepared

I heards the other night in order to concieve should try shagging less as the quality of sperm will be better , aaaagh my heads going to explode lol.

Re the temp testing, I gave up because I never seemed to change temp but I do know that you should test before getting out of bed in the morning, eating & drinking so that your temp is not influenced by anything else.

I know what you mean about functional we went on holiday and promised each other a break from DTD, ironically enough we got pregnant. DH cannot be convinced that we need to go back there to get pregnant again Smile

morecoffeepleaseholdthecake · 02/02/2012 23:09

Sazzel I think we would DTD at friends house Blush You cant miss out on things because your ttc... we are experts at multi tasking after all Grin.... and you did say you would be quiet!

So today I have ordered 100 ovulation tests on line Blush The reason for the amount is that my cycle is so irregular I will need to test every day (I think), plus, sorry but this may be TMI, but I have random in between bleeding and sometimes its hard to know whats AF and what is just breakthrough bleeding so I would need to test on these days as well incase I am ovulating on one of these days Blush sorry end of TMI! When is the best time of day to test. All this stuff is new to me and I dont really know what I'm doing Does anyone else have ovulation pains? Does anyone do the temp testing thing to predict ovulation and what time of day do you check your temp?

We are trying to DTD every day this month. Anyone else getting to the point where they feel a bit like a sperm bank and its all becoming a bit 'functional'?!!!!!!

Thanks morecoffee one of the things that people have said to me is "at least you know you can conceive" but just because you've made one or more doesn't mean it's easy making another. That's why this thread appealed. That and the talk of eating Smile

mummypirate I love my CBFM, apart from the month when I set my testing window too late in the day and had to hold it in till 8.30am every day DH was not amenable to me leaving pots of wee in the bathroom until the correct time to test.

Do you think it is better to fit life in around TTC or TTC around life. DH and I are planning on visiting some friends but when they want us to visit I've worked out I will possibly be OVing. We've had the weirdest conversation debating wether it was acceptable to DTD in their house "if we were really quiet!" Blush, not bother this month, or not make any plans so we can stay in and DTD like mad Wink

Chunkychicken · 02/02/2012 06:06

Cranberry extract isn't to help TTC as such but last month had a really nasty UTI (obviously not used to all the shagging) and think I missed ov due to feeling ill etc. Read that cranberry extract is really effective at maintaining the health of the urinary system so have been popping the pills!!! Don't want to miss ov again (& be in bloody agony obviously). :o

morecoffeepleaseholdthecake · 01/02/2012 22:31

oops posted too soon-

meant to say I have felt like the only one trying to concieve number 3 until I found this thread Blush

morecoffeepleaseholdthecake · 01/02/2012 22:29

Yes tell us more about cranberry extract please chunkychicken!

Sorry Sazzel I missed you had MC, so sorry :(

Hi mummypirate Ive only just joined too :) I have felt like the only one struggling to concieve #3.

Sazzel · 01/02/2012 22:18

One month TTC this time and 11 months before MC. Chunkychicken cranberry extract? Is this something else I should add to the list to aid TTC?

Already got DH on the mens vitamins poor boy Grin

mummmypirate · 01/02/2012 22:10

Hello fellow desperados, room for me? Great thread, have been lurking here for a few weeks and was about to take plunge and start one similiar. TTC DC3, and after shotgun conceptions with the first two, am surprised (how arrogant I know) to have just got another BFN on cycle 2 - using a CBFM this time and everything! DH is already afraid of my single-mindeness and says he feels like he's 'being milked'. Ho hum, nice to meet you all.

Chunkychicken · 01/02/2012 22:07

That's good morecoffee - I've been merrily finishing a bottle of white wine the last couple of nights, washing down the folic acid, probiotics & cranberry extract & assuming if it was good enough for my DD's embryo to be bathed daily in alcohol, then why not this one??!!! Wink

Of course, that's assuming there is a little DC embryo...

morecoffeepleaseholdthecake · 01/02/2012 22:03

Hi Sazzel by the way, how long have you been ttc?

morecoffeepleaseholdthecake · 01/02/2012 22:02

Have heard red wine aids absorption! :)

As does white wine Grin

Sazzel · 01/02/2012 21:52

I do a good virtual choc cherry brownie can I join in?

TTC no 1 (can't find hash tag on a mac Smile after MC in Nov. Been trying to explain the need to POAS to DH way before AF is due but he doesn't really get it but it sounds like you guys do?

Now is anyone else taking preconception vitamins and is it wrong to wash them down with a glass of red wine which I found myself doing the other night Grin

morecoffeepleaseholdthecake · 01/02/2012 21:51

Ah yes Fish, love nemo too, although we had over kill of it last year and cant seem to get them to watch it anymore. Cars and Cars2 here at the moment :)

I have been told by previous crap gynae in other county that I may have pcos, but was never confirmed as scans were unclear. I had no trouble concieving first 2 either.
