TTC Hysterics thread!

Hi a wierd Idea but I've browsed through threads and seen that some poster feel sometimes that complaining about i.e not being pg after 2 months is insensitive to people having problems.

I can see their point , but we all need a place to let off steam without being made to feel guilty. So......

I made this thread as a perfect place to spout off any worries how silly they may seem.

Please be honest about what you think!

Hello all! Can completely empathise with everyone on here. What is currently driving me crazy is that not only have a load of people I know had babies recently (yes, yes, of course I'm very happy for them Envy) but everytime I log into facebook the newsfeed is dominated by pfb and "isn't being a mum awesome" smugness - arrrrrggggghhh!!! Of course I would never say this in real life (except to DH and my mum - both of whom are incredibly understanding) and I feel really mean in thinking it but c'mon - a little sensitivity for the ttc-ers wouldn't go amiss!

Phew. Felt good to get that off my chest :)

Hi there - need to have a bit of a whinge -
Yesterday got undeniable PMT pains so although AF not due til next Weds I'm pretty sure its not been my lucky month this month.
Ideally I would like to just shrug it all of and think I'll get there eventually but although we are offically TTC, DH seems so oblivious to the whole thing. How do I up my chances of TTC without making it look like a military operation?

Archemedes · 01/03/2012 09:39

Thanks :)
'And would everyone please stop asking me when we are going to have the next one!ffs '

OMG I know, argh,
I hope you get some some good luck soon morecoffee.

This week is put me in a very wierd state I'm even less motivated than usual, I havent really been anywhere for a few days and for some reason the idea of doing so fills me with dread. I don't know if its related, I miss just getting up everyday and being able to function and just getting on with it really.

Thanks for setting up this thread Archemedes
Also, thought I should introduce myself as quite new to MN - have been TTC 1st dc for only 3 months, but already quite obsessed.
[waves, hoping to make some MN friends]
Baby frenzy amongst family has reached fever pitch recently due to new baby in wider family. Am asked on weekly basis why I don't have kids - which makes me rather stressed and angry.
DH very supportive, but much more laid back so I feel like I am doing worrying for both of us!

CostumeDramaQueen · 27/02/2012 18:04

Hi Archemedes
I'm going through sthing similar at the mo. Baby just born in the family, mum fell pg super fast. I am trying to concentrate on my own relationship to the baby, so I am carving out a role as attentive, but slightly excentric aunt.
Its going well so far, but sometimes you do just feel like yelling - "come on UTERUS get your act together!"

Archemedes · 27/02/2012 17:41

Need a bit of un MN hand holding.
Hey all.
hope things are going well, a baby has been born in my family today, Ive bought a card wrapping the presents etc , but theres a weird sick feeling I know ill be surrounded by baby frenzy for a bit and after it being nearly 3 months and no baby its going to be quite hard for me. How do I man up and but on a grin.

(I've namechanged, was Wading)

Congratulations Fish! Envy

We've all had 'the virus' over the last three weeks so we've either been ill ourselves or dealing with a child who is ill and we're both knackered. I'm now having a big old sulk as I think we've missed my ovulation this month, poor DP I'm a proper grumpy fucker at the moment.

I've never been this obsessed before, I don't know what's wrong with me, it doesn't even make sense to have another baby just yet but there's no telling me, I want one NOW!

pippi, just an idea.... crossing your legs could be the problem?! Wink

pippilongsmurfing · 20/02/2012 12:24

Hi Ladies, I'm on my first cycle of Clomid this month, and am TTC#1, with PCOS, underactive thyriod, and weight gain that I just cannot shift no matter what diet/exercise plan I follow.

I'm not putting on any weight, and I'm definatly not over eating, I am on a low fat/sugar/carbs, high fibre, fruit and veg diet, and am watching the calries and am always eating less than the 1700 recommended (more like just over 1100), and am doing an exercise program, but can't shift the weight.

My thyriod is fine, now I'm on thyroxine, so it's not that, and I'm also on Metformin for the PCOS, and my GP thought I might be insulin resistant, but despite an initial weight lose when starting the Metformin, no more has been lost, despite a dose increase on the Metformin.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be going on?

Congrats fish that's great news.Smile.

I have everything crossed for the rest of us!

Fisharefriendsnotfood · 20/02/2012 12:12

Thanks morecoffee I'm Grin but still hard to believe. Best of luck to everyone Smile

morecoffeepleaseholdthecake · 20/02/2012 10:07

Thanks ruda have just googled and sounds like what I'm 'experiencing' Grin

Just seen your post above aswell. Will keep my fingers crossed for you.

So its now 14months (calendar months that is as my cycle is so irregular and random) of ttc dc3.I'm really hoping this is the month! I was convinced AF was due on sat as I was really achey but so far nothing.

I am off to.pick up a test for later tommorow.

Rudawakening · 20/02/2012 09:45

morecoffee apparently increased discharge can be a sign of early pg due to the progesterone surge, I know because I've had the same for nearly a week. TMI but sometimes it's been that bad I was convinced af had come early am still not peeing on a stick early though.

I can't find the website again but found on with examples of cm in early pregnancy. Was kind of gross but informative. Try googling it.

morecoffeepleaseholdthecake · 20/02/2012 09:33

fish what fantastic news! Here, have a Brew put your feet up and have my stash of pregnancy mags!

So, had my scan 2 weeks ago....all appeared normal. Bloods coming back this week.

I am currently trying to decide whether to poas tommorow . I did a test Saturday and it was neg :( don't know if or when I ovulated this cycle. Think I will test again tommorow if still no AF. I am having some symptoms which I am trying to convince myself are pregnancy symptoms and not pre menstrual symptoms for nearly a week now.

Beware, possible TMI! Has anyone had increased discharge as an early preg symptom?

Rudawakening · 20/02/2012 08:58

Hi everyone

Can I join? This is first month of TTC no 1 and already I am going crazy. I am trying not to symptom spot which is good because I don't seem to have any, AF not due until Sunday but last night in a moment of madness I peed on a opk (didn't have a hpt in the house) and it came up with a line. Not stronger than the control line but a line you could easily see.

So am either going to ovulate a lot later than I thought and have a very random long cycle or there just happened to be a lot of LH in my pee at that point as I know it's present all the time or after googling it could be picking up hcg as the make up of LH and hcg are the same bar a tiny subunit?

So this morning disappoint at possible long cycle for no reason and faint hope are living side by side in my head fighting.

I don't want to pee on a proper stick because I know the bfn will break my heart!

Fisharefriendsnotfood · 20/02/2012 08:24

Thanks pipbin it was a stringer line this morning. Am 10 dpo. Very excited Grin

Good luck everyone

HeartyBoom · 19/02/2012 22:39

Nutty it's in the my profile section :D

Pipbin · 19/02/2012 22:36

Good news fish how many DPO are you?

nutty123 · 19/02/2012 22:31

Sent you pm Hearty. How do I save you to mates list?

HeartyBoom · 19/02/2012 22:24

Thanks hun, I've sent you a pm and added you to the mates list thing so you can keep me updated on the scan. To be honest I've had NO symptoms and I am the most paranoid hysterical symptom spotter ever willing to fight for the title too. I think the stress of trying to do this so quickly is making Auntie Flo (AF/Period) feel a little shy and unwanted rather than being extremely lucky.

nutty123 · 19/02/2012 22:21

I take it AF means period? I really need to look up these abbreviations :)

That's good news then if it hasn't happened yet? Fingers and toes crossed for you.

HeartyBoom · 19/02/2012 22:17

I have a DS already, I AM THE HORROR STORY, good wholesome teenage girl looks at a boy and ends up in the family way. My son is 8 now and he's great, huge gap I know but it feels right for us now. Since the whole oooops of the first one I was kinda expecting to be in the family way as soon as I'd may coy eye contact without contraception. Obviously not. According to fertility friend (great resource if you haven't tried it, charts everything and you can print and share it, may shed some light on the ovulation) I should have had AF yesterday/today.

nutty123 · 19/02/2012 22:08

Yeah it it is!!! Thought it was just me but after 7 months, I'm knackered!!! Hopefully I'll get my scan date within the next few weeks so will let you know how I get on.

It is such a relief to speak to someone who is going through the same thing. i have spent 20 years trying not to get pregnant, and then hit a wall when I do!! Typical!
