TTC Hysterics thread!

Hi a wierd Idea but I've browsed through threads and seen that some poster feel sometimes that complaining about i.e not being pg after 2 months is insensitive to people having problems.

I can see their point , but we all need a place to let off steam without being made to feel guilty. So......

I made this thread as a perfect place to spout off any worries how silly they may seem.

Please be honest about what you think!

I'm taking folic acid, no alcohol at all, I'm not a huge fan and dp can't due to long term pain killers.
Dtd every day until 5 days before AF due as I totally went off it, af was due friday, still no sign, -ive test saturday, but really teary and heart burn today?

Think my bodys just playing tricks on me!

bonzo77 · 05/03/2012 15:18

goldrill I had a mmc in December. The date of when the baby died does tie in with when DS had hand foot and mouth. I have been wondering if that was the cause....

Got pg first cycle with DS, 7th cycle last time (ended with mmc), and now I am starting cycle 3 after ERPC.

I get totally hysterical in the 2nd week of the 2WW. Blush Frantic about every tummy ache, every bit of discharge (had loads and loads of it prior to both BFPs), won't take any medications apart from folic acid and paracetamol. Every time AF arrives we add an extra "thing" in to TTC. So far we are doing: OPKs, CBFM, temping, folic acid, B6, D3, men's vitamins, restricted caffeine and alcohol, SWI every 2nd day from day 10 to first high on CBFM, then daily till temps confirm ovulation. TBH its exhausting!!

When we first started TTC baby 2 I had assumed it would all be easy, and that by DS's 2nd birthday (this Wednesday) we would have baby 2. Clearly not! If anyone is insensitive to ask about another baby, I usually say something along the lines of "it's not always that easy". Most people know what that means and STFU.

I honestly don't know what to suggest, sorry

where just here for madness lol

I'm crap at this.

erm here goes, Look up your ovulation cycle , theres one on here.
take folic acid if you're not already, and other vitamins are good too.
around your most fertile days stop drinking if you can.

Last of all breathe :)

Right then, I need a reality check....
Any advice appreciated as I honestly don't know which way is up anymore....

TTC dc3 - this is the 5th month.
In order to do this I have had to stop taking medication for an ongoing health problem. This health problem is now back in full swing and means I spend approximately 5 days in pain/bed/not fit for much every 2 weeks or so.

During pregnancy this health problem tends to be less severe and once baby is born I can resume taking the meds and should be well again after about 3 months.

Dp and both dc are super and help me through every episode but I am definately feeling now there must be a limit to how long I put myself and the rest of us through this....

I think I will always regret not having a 3rd but should I just be grateful for what I've got - I feel such a selfish cow even whining about this as my 2 dc's are amazing and I know I am lucky but......

No one in RL knows we're TTC so therefore have seen me relapse recently so lots of questions there too which are tricky... advice from consultant - hurry up and get pregnant - helpful eh!

Sorry, not really sure what I'm asking for to be honest, probably just feeling sorry for myself (yesterday was a bad day).

StateofConfusion · 04/03/2012 21:40

Thank you archemedes

What's everyones top tips for TTC then, unbelievably, I'm clueless!

Archemedes · 04/03/2012 20:51

hello all,
i have only just started ttc and feel a bit of an outsider on other threads, just got married and only just started and a lot of people are a lot more seasoned than me!
not panicking too much at the mo, got SIL's wedding coming up in 3 months and i'm a bridesmaid, so trying to get that out of the way first! any advice is welcome as i'm a complete novice

StateofConfusion · 04/03/2012 17:28

Hi everyone can I join,

I have a 4yo ds and 3yo dd, both of which I fell pg with in 6mnths, hence the close age gap!

I had two very early mcs last year 6 and 7wks and then in december a missed miscariage at 14wks, I'm still heartbroken. And utterly insanely desperate to be pregnant again.

Af returned in the 28days, then was a few days early and this month is now two days late, I tested yesterday and it was -ive so I'm guessing this isn't my month either.

PeachesandStrawberry · 04/03/2012 17:16

I know. I sometimes wonder if it is ever going to happen as well.

I fell pregnant quite quickly the first time so I keep wondering why it is taking longer.

Glad I found this thread

Chunkychicken · 04/03/2012 14:33

Hi peaches.

I have a lurk/occasional post on this thread now & then to remind myself I'm not alone/completely bonkers. It helps me keep sane to realise that there are other mums out there TTC #2 with the same-ish age gap I'm hoping for & I've not missed the boat/left it too late!! For some reason, I seem to be surrounded by mums/mumstobe with stupidly small age gaps (13mths, 18mths, 2yrs) to name a few & last cycle I had a chem preg that should/would have resulted in a 2.5yr age gap. Since that didn't work out, I feel like its NEVER going to happen, DD will be at school before I'm pg & other irrational thoughts...

Good to have a place to share them :)

Archemedes · 04/03/2012 13:26

I can totally relate with the whole 'need your mind taking off it'

Hello Ladies,

Can I join.

I have a DS who is 3 this month and we are TTC #2. It has been 5 months and I have been worrying that it is not going to happen. I just need to have my mind taken off of it and maybe it will happen soon.

Hope everyone gets their BFPs soon.

CostumeDramaQueen · 02/03/2012 17:59

Pandawatch - I know what you mean - I don't really want to discuss my TTC in RL but a bit of sensitivity wouldn't go amiss - being griled by relatives as to reluctance/inability to have children so not a big help!
Thanks Archemedes - I am going to plan what I'm going to say to him - we've had a lot of 'serious' conversations recently which hasn't been super sexy!
Thanks for sharing - always helps to know you're not the only one!

Archemedes · 02/03/2012 17:44

Yes Pandawatch same ere its horrible isnt it.

OP posts:
Archemedes · 02/03/2012 17:44

Oh CDQ, it sucks doesnt it.
then again I havent until today DTD for a few days, I felt actually it helps me to 'chill' a bit.
Do you talk to him about it???
erm maybe you could perhaps sit and say to him although you don't wanna come across are seargant babymaker not making effort feels like wasted time and makes it unbearable towards AF time.
