HI all! I am indeed enjoying the holiday so far! I?ve been lurking a bit but finding it hard to write as I didn?t want to just ignore everyone?s posts, but the more I don?t write the more I miss and the worse I think I will feel about missing peoples posts, so I just thought I would say a quick hello!
Back in the hotel lobby for the wireless connection to write an article. 9am here. Am having a nightmare chasing the press office of Locog, they are really crap. The whole thing about press offices is that they are meant to act quickly for the press! I?ve been chasing quotes from them since Monday. Grrr.
Sorry for pending due dates but pleased for good scan news! It?s up and down on this thread isn?t it, but the good thing is that more and more there is, well, good news and good outcomes for some of us with high NK cells means the more the treatment is working so hopefully the more possibilities of good outcomes for the rest.
Re allergies etc, I had childhood eczema that I grew out of, but occasionally as an adult had a tiny little bit. Pretended to have hay fever just for a while so I could use Pebbles eye drops at school (felt they were cool and we DID like to do everything alike) but didn?t really. However a few years ago (maybe around 4-5) started to develop hay fever in spring time. Just realised haven?t had it for a couple of years though! Two years ago developed adult asthma after a terrible cough and although needed an inhaler for around a year regularly, haven?t really had a cough or cold since. Thyroid problem developed when I was 21 not long after my first pregnancy, which was a termination. In retrospect however we feel this can be counted as a mmc too as the hospital had to do test on ?the products? afterwards as they said what had been retrieved was very small. I had a mmc the following year (was pretty careless as a young adult I guess) aged 20. Didn?t even know I was pregnant. Whether the first pregnancy kicked off the NK cells I will never know, or whether that was indeed a mmc too I will never know.
In my first pregnancy of 2011 (three in total, 2 mcs that year) I developed that bad allergy to my wedding ring. Had echoes of that this time too but not nearly as bad.
I got the Doppler out yesterday, just to check, and all is still beating. Not sure when my next appointment with Mr S is as it will be at the hospital. I have a booking in appt at Epsom General the week after I get back.
In the meantime am taking it really, really easy. Eating healthily, not getting too much sun (I feel a bit sick and tired in the daytimes still) and getting lots of sleep. Haven?t left the resort yet! Very unusual for us as our holidays are usually off exploring Asia etc as well as chilling on the beach. But this one is different.
Am wondering why am still sick and tired quite a bit at over 15 weeks? Thinking maybe it is as the Pred must have now left my system? It?s been 2 and a half weeks since I stopped. Due to stop the Cyclogest next Tuesday and can?t wait.
You know, when I got pregnant I wrote these dates down in my calendar on the laptop but they all had brackets after them and said ?(Would be 16 weeks, stop Cyclogest)? so if I had to go and delete them after a mc I would know they were only ?pencilled in?. I am sure you can all relate to that.
Istanbul Kittens? How lovely!! It?s such a gorgeous, exciting place. And it has got to be warmer than the UK anyhow. I?ve been chuckling away at your sperm stories. Glad you didn?t get mugged on the tube!
Digi, good news about the freelance work. I was hoping something like that would turn up for you.
Pico, check ups at the clinic are just about scans and making sure it is all growing well. Another opportunity to have a little look in there!
Re vitamins etc Iggi and others, I am not sure what to do about mine. I am still taking the Pregnacare, Omega 3, Vit D and Selenium (the latter was my own addition) and wondering whether I should carry on or not. Mr S says to stop at 12 weeks as you say. But I don?t think there is any harm in carrying on. Pregnancare says it can be used all the way through. The Selenium I have no idea about. It is meant to help with thyroid antibodies. Dr Google can?t tell me when to stop. I would like to stop all of them, it would be nice if I get to 20 weeks to just take minimal tablets (5 x thyroxine as usual and maybe the Hydroxy, given that we are not yet sure when I should stop it) but we will see. Dr Google does say that Selenium supplement.
Right, quick bit on the article and then beach is calling xx
