Hello all waves madly

Well my body decided to be play silly buggers the past couple of months. On my first cycle TTC, no less! AF arrived today, on CD46. HARRUMPH. Har har good joke, ladybits! Angry

But I am very delighted to see her in fact because I means my two months of confusion is over and I can now get cracking on this shiny new cycle!

Who's with me???? This is a glorious Superlux Superbus (the kind you'd see US presidential candidates rolling about in), with all de mod cons (dedicated champers fridge and shiny chrome margarita blender).

Zara1984 - TTC#1, Cycle 2, AF due 24 Feb

I know what you mean i'm quite comfy here, think it would be impossible to start a laid back thread over there. So I'll take one of those cosmos too please Wine and settle in for a while until the news sinks in and i finally 'feel' preggers.

Chunkychicken · 12/02/2012 23:35

Piggyboo have jumped aboard an antenatal thread & now feel like jumping right back out again!!! Everyone is either panicky, worried, over-eager/excited or ahead of me & going about symptoms I have yet to experience this time round... Feel much more comfy in my plush seat, drinking virgin cosmopolitans & generally waiting for the excitement to kick in!! And don't even get me started on the 'what to eat/drink' debates... Shock

piggyboo · 12/02/2012 22:36

better i ov'd on CD18 of a usually 28 day cycle and got my BFP 10 days later so i wouldn't worry about it too much.

celeb and chunky i'm completely with you on the monitoring the loo paper thing ATM especially as i have had no symptoms at all the last few days. POAS again this am strong positive so that reassured me a bit. I can't quite bring myself to go over to preggy forum yet, everytime i read the threads over there someone is having spotting or such like and scaring the bejesus out of everyone. I quite like it here, everyone is cautiously optimistic :), i do feel a bit like were hiding at the back of the superbus with expired tickets, keep thinking someone will kick us off soon Blush

Is anyone due to POAS this week? FC for more BFP's

Chunkychicken · 12/02/2012 22:06

Hey Belgrano - the age gap between my DD & the bean-on-board should be 2.5yrs. Was it a good gap for you? :)

Belgrano · 12/02/2012 21:27

Hi ladies congrats to chunky and the others who've tested positive! Testing a week on Tuesday...gah that's a long bloody wait! DC are 2.5 and 5. Puppy is 1. Still broody after that lot...Therefore it's time for another baby!

Chunkychicken · 12/02/2012 19:42

Celebmum Poor you!! Hopefully this one will run more smoothly.

Have told a few family members this weekend, more because of circumstances rather than desire - initially one family member guessed (I can't be showing already surely??!!!) and then had to treat all the rest the same...
:o Just hoping I don't have to share any bad news any time soon.

'Spose I better get myself down to the GP soon too. Get myself signed up for the midwife booking appointment etc :)

celebmum · 12/02/2012 16:11

Ha chunky!! Just read it yeah!! Talk about parallel lives! Grin I knew this early with DS1, but it still doesnt feel real until you've missed a period so I totally get where you're coming from! Im going to go to docs this week, my last pregnancy resulted in a pulmonary embolism so I'll prob be under consultant care on this one.. No idea what that means/how it helps really tho!! BlushGrin

Chunkychicken · 12/02/2012 14:59

Hey celebmum I POAS again yesterday but don't think I had the full 10s required so it was only a faint line but a line is a line, I guess... Feeling still a bit uncertain - until I get a nice strong line, I'll prob still be a bit unsure. Never did the stick thing this early before, always when pretty certain and after AF is late, so maybe its just the way it is for me?

Did you see my stupid 'red in the pants' incident above??!! Seriously, are we living the same life or what??! Wink

celebmum · 12/02/2012 14:31

Hi all! Just checking in to see how everyone's getting on and looking for more BFPs!?! Smile

Chunky I tested again yesterday 'just to be sure' Grin (and because I think I'm secretly addicted to P'ingOAS!) lovely strong 2nd line this time soooo I can finally believe I'm pregnant.. 4weeks today! Major panic last night tho bout 2am when I went to loo, then once finished I saw pinky red on the tissue!??! Turns out it was my lipstick that I'd wiped off earlier, thrown in the loo n not flushed!Blush

CD18 for me and according to OPK I am in my fertile window. I also had a positive OPK on CD16(Friday) and we TWI most of the week until Friday night. But a positive on day 18 of a 28 day cycle? I must say I'm a bit worried about the short time from ovulation to projected CD1.

We're both feeling tired and under the weather today so I can't see DH willling to SWI tonight tbh.Sad The last time we were TTC it took 9 months and it was only the last month that I got the OPK. I think previously we had a rest for a few days when I thought I was in the 2ww, but looks like if I was anyting like I am now, I was missing the boat. Maybe the swimmers weren't surviving long enough?

Congratulations to those with the BFP's so far, good luck the rest of you and hope those of you going through worrying times are given good news.

TheDetective · 12/02/2012 12:22

I started SWI last night! Yay! Off for more now...TMI sorry!!

I'm determined this month! We are going to do it every day for the next 10! Hmpf.

Its CD10 for me!

Chunkychicken · 12/02/2012 12:09

It's hard not to do that though MrsTwinks!!! I was exactly the same first month, but this month I deliberately forced myself to think of a non-pg reason for every symptom, so that when I finally caved & POAS I didn't think there would be a chance... Almost fell of my chair when I saw it was a faint but def +ve!!! I hope it works out for you. The waiting is the hardest part!!

And yes, PrimalChic I do keep groping mine (or waiting for DD to headbutt them) to check they're still tender Wink

MrsTwinks · 12/02/2012 11:46

thanks chunky

I promised myself I wouldn't symptom spot (mainly as most mornings I feel alittle sick when i force myself to eat breakfast, I get tired alot, do have days when I need to pee alot etc normally) but I'm thinking yeah it might be as no more spotting but some cramping. Now if AF decides to rock up early after all it will not be cool.. but....

Chunkychicken · 12/02/2012 11:09

Glad you had a good time PrimalChic & fingers crossed AF stays away... :)

PrimalChic · 12/02/2012 10:37

chunky good advice! Espresso martinis were smashing as was the dancing like an idiot to the wee small hours! And I didn't have much so no hangover, hurrah. Exhausted, mind. All that caffeine before bed time is a bad idea!

Still no early AF or pg signs. Does anyone else give their boobs a grope to see if they're hurting yet?!

Chunkychicken · 12/02/2012 06:09

It could be implantation bleeding - it usually takes 7-10 days for the egg to travel the tube & implant. You should really wait at least 11dpo before testing, as that's the earliest a test will pick it up, but if you can leave it until 15+dpo before testing, the result is more likely to be accurate.

Ooooh exciting though!!! :o

MrsTwinks · 12/02/2012 00:14

ok, I just had a bit of blood.. not tiny but not red either, more pinky. Now this week I "should" have been ovulating, but my cycle seems to have been a bit erratic and last months period was very light (but I got a BFN thou). Could this be implantation bleeding or what could be going on. If it is, how soon can I POAS?

Chunkychicken · 11/02/2012 16:57

Hey Belgrano love the name. How long have you been trying? How old are your DC?

Funny story... Went to the loo, saw a speck of red. Thought Shock Looked closer. Realised it was red fluff Blush Can't believe how nervous I am every time I go to the loo... When will I relax and believe I'm pg??!!! :o

Belgrano · 11/02/2012 15:55

Can I join you ladies? Hate the waiting bit. On CD17 here, 28 day cycle. Ttc no.3.

Chunkychicken · 11/02/2012 14:07

I think you should relax PrimalChic & have as many drinks as you can handle... Afterall, if it still says -ve then you've not got a properly buried bean yet, so no placenta etc. If you get AF, you'll prob think 'could have had more...' and if you don't, it won't hurt yet. Have a good time :o

PrimalChic · 11/02/2012 12:53

I managed 7 seconds! BFN though :( still, it's 2 days before AF is due so there's a chance for a positive... So I think it'll just be the one cocktail. Wouldn't it be nice if cycles were aligned to social lives? I could do with AF being due on a Friday so that if she arrived, I could spend the weekend commiserating with Wine

Chunkychicken · 11/02/2012 12:19

If I could have found a pot in time, I would have done that too Pipbin but I was a bit desperate & didn't fancy doing it in my drinking glass... Blush

Pipbin · 11/02/2012 12:17

I just fail at peeing on the stick. I seem to find it so hard to actually get the stick in the stream.
I have taken to peeing in a pot and dipping the stick in. I'm doing that for my Internet opks anyway.

Chunkychicken · 11/02/2012 11:09

Just found out that a friend of the family in RL has announced her pg after IVF. Feeling a bit better about our future announcement (all being well) as they were trying when we had DD.:)

Chunkychicken · 11/02/2012 11:06

Sorry to hear that Stickle but silver lining, you can at least get a handle on your cycle so if AF does show (& let's face it, it ain't over until the fat aunt sings...) you can track your fertile period better & have better luck then!! Fingers crossed for you x
