Hello all waves madly

Well my body decided to be play silly buggers the past couple of months. On my first cycle TTC, no less! AF arrived today, on CD46. HARRUMPH. Har har good joke, ladybits! Angry

But I am very delighted to see her in fact because I means my two months of confusion is over and I can now get cracking on this shiny new cycle!

Who's with me???? This is a glorious Superlux Superbus (the kind you'd see US presidential candidates rolling about in), with all de mod cons (dedicated champers fridge and shiny chrome margarita blender).

After my earlier rant, I'm looking for a bit of reassurance from a CM Expert if you don't mind, so I can sit back on the :) side of the bus!!

TMI Alert

You know when you see CM in your pants, can that give you a clue as to when you're ovulating, rather than like, literally manually checking?

And if it hasn't quite got to the EWCM in my pants stage, more the 'rehearsal' stage before the main act, does that mean I haven't ovulated yet?

And finally, could I have missed the EWCM bit or is it likely to hang around for a day or two??

Sorry to be so demanding, just need a bit of hand-holding please!! Blush

Chunkychicken · 27/01/2012 06:03

Hate TTC!!!!

Think I'm in my fertile period, all the signs are there, so DH & I too tired last night, think 1st thing this morning is a good comprise. He loses his 'mojo' & now I'm all stressed that we've missed the 'window' and that's another month down the pan... Angry

Logically I know there's prob a bit more time but I just wanted to make certain (belts & braces type approach) with as much SWI as possible. There was S but not much WI this morning. :(

I hate feeling we HAVE to do it. Maybe I should start on the OPKs sooner so we're not at it every 2 days whilst trying to keep up with a 21mo too. But then isn't it even more like you must do it??!!

Want a baby, don't want to try. Feeling :( now. Not a great way to start Friday.

Bluetinkerbell · 26/01/2012 22:25

Jumping on!

TTC#3, already have DD1 who is 3 and DD2 who is forever a star after loosing her at 20 weeks last June.
I seem to be only fertile during January/February as that is when both DD's were conceived.
I have an average cycle length of 42 days, but this month AF came about 10 days earlier... on exactly the same day as LMP started with both DD's Hmm very strange. OV was CD17, instead of usual 24. So I'm expecting a half October due date if I am lucky this month.

I'm currently on CD19, 2DPO according to CBFM, so in 2ww :)

No problem Pip, I hate lists that don't make sense Grin

Glad I'm not the only mojito fan!

I'm starting to freak a little as I haven't had AF yet this month. Ok, my cycle is slightly unpredictable, but I've been much starting 15 days after ovulation (as best as I can tell without a kit, but I've been accurately predicting for the last 6 months). That should have been two days ago by my reckoning.

So either my cycle's fucked scuse language or I'm already pg Confused from when we dtd last week. I don't think so though, as surely that was far too late in my cycle - more Confused Maybe I should not think about it for a couple of days. If I disappear for a bit, you know why!

This is why I should stay away from buses... there be madness here Grin But I just. can't... help.. myself

Pipbin · 26/01/2012 21:46

Thanks for putting me back on stetson

Here's hoping that this bus is the first with 100% success.

Thereisamumthatnevergoesout · 26/01/2012 21:37

Good luck to all!

Sticklebricksuk · 26/01/2012 13:36

Ah hello to everyone new on the bus. Glad to hear there are mojitos too now. I feel I need them. Af arrived on 16 th Jan, stayed for 5 days left for a day then seems to have returned in a light form for the past 4 days. Wtf? Am panicking that this means something bad (Ttc %231 so not entirely sure) but trying to convince self it's just body settling down after 12 years on the pill. Bloody google no help at all, seem to have diagnosed self with early onset menopause SadBlush

picks up mojito and sidles away from the evil that is google

moggle · 26/01/2012 11:57

I was going to avoid the buses... That way madness lies for me... But let's see what happens! 2nd cycle for us, 1st was fun with lots of time to swi over the Christmas hols! Actually due to ov tomorrow or Saturday, DH has put the spanner in the works a bit this week by having a sudden job interview which meant late nights cramming and nerves as well, but hopefully after today is over (and work night out tonight) we'll have a bit of a chance to catch up!
I've been using opk sticks and got strong lines last month, so hoping that this month will be the same, I also have been getting ov pain since coming off the pill in sept so generally have been able to pinpoint ov without too much trouble... DH is desperate for it to happen before his best mate's baby arrives in April, he's very broody since our niece arrived at Christmas, she's utterly amazing!!,

moggle TTC #1, cycle 2, AF due 11/02

Chunkychicken · 26/01/2012 10:38

Thanks Chair that's really reassuring - that's exactly how I feel; spotty, greasy, lank hair, bloated & achey, and I'm meant to 'suddenly' get the urge to DTD??!! Hmm

Ironically, the cycle before we started TTC I really did get that huge horniness thing going on and practically leapt on DH... As we use the withdrawal method of contraception (TMI, sorry) I keep thinking, if only I'd made him 'stay put' for a minute or two longer, as it were... It makes me wonder just when I ov last cycle, as we're obviously not careful (although how quickly we conceived DD made me realise just how much willpower DH must have!!).

And we also have the whole 'fall preggo at a drop of your pants hat scenario - both Mum and MIL got pregnant straight off the pill without trying, but that was thirty-something cough cough strangled sob at realisation of age years ago, so feel a bit like you MrsTwinks i.e why has it taken more than ONE month!!!! :o

ChairOfTheBored · 26/01/2012 10:25

MrsTwinks* - we get the same from DH's side, who are ridiculously fertile (so I also bear the expectation that should it take some time, it will clearly be the fault of me and my defective bits!)

MrsTwinks · 26/01/2012 10:20

chairoftheboard that pretty much what we are thinking here too. Alittle unrealistic I know but I know I'll be gutted if no BFP this month (women on my mums side traditionally just have to look at a man to get pregnant so DH is taking me away when I'll either have just found out (so I wont excitedly blab) or not (so i can get drunk and sob with no one knowing why)

TBH i think hes a bit worried about it too.. theres been a few, are you trying yet comments from relatives with the look at him as if to say do your balls not work is there a problem with you Wink

RunningKatie · 26/01/2012 09:38

Morning all

What a very nice bus, I tried the September shuttle but it didn't work for us. DH has just sprung on me that he's going to be away much of Feb with work so if we're not sucessful this cycle then I think we'll actually miss much of the next one. And he's missing DD's birthday party so not best pleased but as he got made redundant last year and he's only just started this job I'm keeping quiet!

Oh, and ChunkyChicken I get worse PMT type symptoms around ovulating time than just before AF.

It is the supreme irony that just at the time I supposed to be alluring, and tempting DH into SWI, I am in fact a spotty grump. It's a good job he loves me!

ChairOfTheBored · 26/01/2012 08:12

Yes please to mojitos, and brie. And pate. And rare steak.

Have decided that during this TTC lark, rather than let AF;s arrival be a healrd of inevitable doom, am going to have that week 'off' and, alongside the now ritual folic acid and temperature taking, enjoy all the things that (with a bit of luck) I will be barred from for 9 months. This should also include running while I still can, but frankly its a bit cold, and I've tummy cramps.

Zara - does this bus come with mojitos? And brie? I'm feeling hopeful that we won't be able to eat it for much longer

Chunky, the clearest thing I remember from first time is getting PMT - I never used to get it, and the day I bit DH's head off for something so important I forget what it is, he told me I was pg. Now I get pmt all the time, even when AF isn't on her way Grin

Kel, sorry about your mc. Hope this cycle's the one.

Bettergeta, congrats on your weight loss. Are you doing a particular programme, or just cutting out the crap?

Pip, can't think of a better way to spend a school hol! You seem to have dropped off the list, and my ocd tendencies are screaming at me, so I've fixed it. And added the others that are missing. I do like a complete list Blush

Chunkychicken · 25/01/2012 13:32

Hi to posters from the shuttle - welcome aboard the fertile bus (here's hoping!!).

I swing between feeling really despondent that it didn't happen cycle #1 like it did with DD and trying to justify it as 'I must have ovulated on x day cos we didn't DTD then as I had a UTI' etc etc.Confused Not sure how lucky I feel this month. Then start feeling that there is still SO much that could go wrong even after the BFP, I'm glad we didn't actually 'try' before because I would have gone mad!!!

Anyone know sore boobs & acne are signs of ov? I'm nowhere near preggo but have spots breaking out left, right & centre & 'full' boobs iykwim. I'm hoping that (& of course the good ol' EWCM) will help me time the SWI right, before I succumb to the OPK.Hmm

Pipbin · 25/01/2012 13:08

Looks like my fertile week is going to be over half term.
As we both work in schools we'll be off all week and can spend it in bed swi ing.

ChairOfTheBored · 25/01/2012 11:48

Can I join?

TTC #1, Cycle 2, AF due 22 Feb (ish - she likes to keep an air of expectant mystery about her some months)

bettergetamoveon · 25/01/2012 11:43

Well hello ladies, do you mind if I join you? I heard there was chocolate hobnobs and champers on ice. I've not posted on mumsnet much, so apologies for my lack of abbreviations!

I'm ttc#2. My Ds is 3 now and we finally feel ready for another. Actually, my DH isn't aware of this yet but he'll know soon enough! The last time it took us 9 months to be upduffed, so it wasn't easy. However this time I come armed with optimism and a plan of action!

Want to hear my plan?

  1. Take multi-vitamins (from today)
  2. continue to lose weight. I'm overweight and recently lost a couple of stone but need to lose more.
  3. Continue to exercise.
The two above are important because the last time we TTC I had imaginary pg symptoms every month which usually involved being really hungry. Can't end up the size of this bus this time around!
  1. Buy a good ovulation predictor kit. The only time I used this was the month i got pg the last time. Previously we twi all the bloody time and it was getting tiresome Blush Therefore hopefully we'll twi for a handful of days at the right time instead of all the time and getting worn out.

So my stats are
bettergetamoveon - TTC#2, Cycle 1, AF due 22/02ish

Good luck ladies. Hope this is the lucky bus. I have a good feeling about this!
