Hello all waves madly

Well my body decided to be play silly buggers the past couple of months. On my first cycle TTC, no less! AF arrived today, on CD46. HARRUMPH. Har har good joke, ladybits! Angry

But I am very delighted to see her in fact because I means my two months of confusion is over and I can now get cracking on this shiny new cycle!

Who's with me???? This is a glorious Superlux Superbus (the kind you'd see US presidential candidates rolling about in), with all de mod cons (dedicated champers fridge and shiny chrome margarita blender).

Zara1984 - TTC#1, Cycle 2, AF due 24 Feb

I'm with you chunkychicken, was so sure the shuttle was going to be lucky for me and when AF arrived, I was really surprised! DH told me off for too much MN-ing as he thinks I was getting a bit obsessed. Nah...! I went through 4 first response tests and 5 boots tests, it was a very expensive month.

I've been told that this month I'm not allowed to take a test until The day after AF is due. Hmph. I'm making up for it through self medicating with wine.

MustBeDueSomeBetterFeet · 30/01/2012 16:32

TooMuchRumba79 I am also using the bloody sticks.

This is my first cycle of TTC and first of using opks - kind of wish I'd used them in another less pressured cycle as it seems that all I do all day is try not to go to the loo or drink too much (or not enough water, which of course will affect the CM!).

I've been charting for four cycles and had felt quite comfortable about when I felt I was ovulating but the opks are sending me around the bend because I still haven't had a positive, even though I shouldn't really expect one yet (on CD12).

My DH also thinks we should let it happen, but equally he knows nothing pregnancy so there's sticks everywhere!!

TooMuchRumba79 · 30/01/2012 16:12

Hey everyone!!
So good to see y'all, so many new faces!! Wine
Bought some cheap ov test sticks online and started my sneaky operation (cue Mission Impossible tune, although hopefully won't be impossible - just picture me dressed in all black, sneaking like a ninja into the bathroom with my cup and sticks) - DH thinks we shouldn't stress too much and should just 'let it happen'. Think I will stress less if I know there's def something happening down there! It's early days yet, of course, only cycle 3 but feel like the clock is ticking and I got no time to dilly-dally with these things!

Anyone else using those darn sticks??

Chunkychicken · 29/01/2012 22:51

It seemed like every time I checked some other cow lovely lady was getting her BFP and I was turning green with Envy Trying desperately to be a solidarity 'sister' and empathise/be happy for others good fortune, but I began to become a tad unhinged find it difficult to maintain good humour, so parachuted from the shuttle & stepped aboard the bus!! So fingers crossed for everyone this month :)

My cycle is so fucked messed up I'm not actually sure when I should have ov or get AF, so actually makes it a bit easier not to think of it as the 2WW & just hope that DTD today will be the one. Well, I can tell myself that & live in hope huh??!!

StetsonsAreCool · 29/01/2012 22:44

I'll be vicarioulsy POAS then. Got a whole month before I'll get to do it myself. Hope you get a good outcome from your 2ww. Never done one of these threads before so I don't know what else we do other than SWI (and report back) and POAS.

Was the shuttle a successful one then? I know there are a few staying on with us, but everyone's comments make it sound like that was the one to be on.

ayemess · 29/01/2012 21:32

Sorry, just re-read. Questionable not unsuitable. Am quite new to this whole mumsnet thing :-)

ayemess · 29/01/2012 21:31

Thank you for the nice messages, I will go and check out the unsuitable behaviour thread and consider clothes shopping . . .

Chunkychicken · 29/01/2012 21:17

GTbaby & backward this must be the teacher thread!!! I really got gentle morning sickness, more like slight travel sickness that eased with snacks & drinks and stopped at 14wks, so never had to worry about up-chucking in front of my applied sci lot or what have you. Not something I had thought about much this time but now I'm worried...Shock Now I'm part time & move about a lot, I don't tend to eat or drink as much, so may well be sicker just because of that!!! Good job I won't be preggo any time soon then huh??!!

StetsonsAreCool · 29/01/2012 20:29

Chunky, you guessed right Smile - AF came back 2 actual weeks after I dropped DD down to morning/evening feeds on her 1st birthday. Coincidence? I don't think so Smile

Ayemess - congrats on getting your NHS stuff sorted. I know a couple who have just done the same thing - they have just given birth to a gorgeous DS. As far as I'm aware they had a similar battle, but I don't know all the details. But they only got married last year, so they either planned it way in advance, or she was very lucky to conceive very quickly. Good luck!

As for what to do... it's easier said than done, but try not to think about it too much. If it's worked it's worked, but there's not much that can be done now. Take your mind off it, somehow. I've no idea how though [sorry].

When will we start having our first testers?

roxy31 · 29/01/2012 20:00

Hi please can I join? It's my first bus!!! But need some support now as DH and I have been ttc since our wedding in sept and I don't want to send him crazy with all my symptom spotting in the 2ww.

My details are: TTC#1, cycle 6 (usually 25 days), AF due 18/2.

Good luck ladies!!! We will be having lots of swi over the next 7-10 days! Here's hoping this is our month!

PrimalChic · 29/01/2012 19:09

Ladies, can I join? 2nd month of trying and I have a feeling that this is the month! Come on October baby, it's still close enough to start mat leave early and take the Olympics off...

ayemess during the two week wait I usually become obsessed with symptom spotting while trying to convince myself that I am imagining it all. It's a fun time. :o

sunshinejanuary · 29/01/2012 18:34

I don't know about on the train Magneto as always managed to hop off first but I have been sick in the park i had to cross to get to the station in front of pretty much every person who would regularly walk that way. Not to mention by parking meters (no time to move) down drains in the street (everyone thinks you are drunk) and my personal favourite, whilst standing next to colleagues in a car park in the dark and no one noticed!! I think I had becone a pro by then - 32 weeks of vomming for me! Hope I have served my time!

Magneto · 29/01/2012 17:57

Grin Ok so at least I won't be surrounded by children, but seriously what is the etiquette for vomiting at 6.45am every morning on a train full of commuters? Last time the first wave of the day would get me while dh was driving me to work, going round roundabouts with your head between your legs while you throw up into a carrier bag (carefully selected to ensure there are no holes) is an experience I can tell you!

backwardLFDTpossom · 29/01/2012 17:47

I'm quite lucky in that my classroom has a wee cupboard attached! I was never ill with DS, thankfully, so never had to use the plastic bin that is in there! Grin

GTbaby · 29/01/2012 17:36

Oh backward. The thought of chucking up in front of 25 kids ( 11 to 16 year olds ). I wish I had a cupboard or office attached to my room I could step into. And again I take a step back and think... Ur not preg yet! Stop stressing lil

GTbaby · 29/01/2012 17:32

Ayemess not really sure what ur mean to do in the 2ww. There is a questionable behaviour thread on here tho. And that might give u some ideas of how to fill the time! Or maybe just give u a giggle.
My fav is considering being preg when out clothes shopping and buying jersey dresses as they will stretch.

backwardLFDTpossom · 29/01/2012 17:31

GTbaby - plastic basin in your cupboard Wink

GTbaby · 29/01/2012 17:27

Morning sickness! Argh. Something else that stresses me out (even tho I'm not preg!) I work in school and loo is across a wide open space where I will be seen by millions (or may be tens in reality) of ppl running across. Really hope I don't get it Blush. WinkWink.

ayemess · 29/01/2012 15:25

Hello there, adding myself to the list. trying to conceive our 1st via donor sperm (am in civil partnership). It's taken 3 years of fighting NHS admin to get to this stage . . . I'm rubbish at paperwork, and it takes a lot of form filling . . . Anyway, is there any advice about what you're supposed to do in the 2 weeks before you know if you're pregnant? Didn't really think we'd get this far so haven't really thought about about anything beyond starting treatment . . .

sunshinejanuary · 29/01/2012 09:42

magneto morning sickness is a big worry for me. I was bring sick until about 32 weeks and felt sick all the time - including it waking my up in the middle of the night!! I was even sick in labour too!
I am hoping it is true that every pregnancy is different but not holding out much hope as all the women in my family are sick sick and sick!
I am at home with my toddler which might mean i can eat when i need and rest etc. He he, who am i kidding, i think i had more relaxation when i was working!

Magneto · 29/01/2012 09:22

Our swi strategy is pretty much whenever we can ATM, considering that's what worked with ds! I have the period tracker app but thats all I use use it for.

Anyone else irrationally (or not) afraid of the thought of morning sickness? With ds I was throwing up every half hour from I was 6-12 weeks and while that is nothing compared to some women, for me it was horrific!

Only thing is, while first time round dh was driving me to work and my desk was literally next to the toilets, this time I have to get the train and I'm seated on the far side of the office!!!

sunshinejanuary · 29/01/2012 09:04

So far our TTC strategy has been SWI as near as possible to every other night. But we havent totally managed this as we are knackered! It isn't like the first time round that's for sure. Though DH is happy to be having regular action again, pretty sure that is half the reason men in long term relationships agree to TTC ;) he he.
