Angels and Rainbows - The beauty of a rainbow does not negate the ravages of the storm. But it can provide colour and hope.

“Rainbow Babies” is the understanding that the beauty of a rainbow does not negate the ravages of the storm. When a rainbow appears, it doesn’t mean the storm never happened or that the family is not still dealing with its aftermath. What it means is that something beautiful and full of light has appeared in the midst of the darkness and clouds. Storm clouds may still hover but the rainbow provides a counter balance of color, energy and hope.

Ah Fan to keep you going until dh is home. I think ttc must be so emotionally draining on you. It's no wonder you have tearful evenings. And I'm sure with Ophelia's birthday approaching you must be feeling the strain. I do feel guilty sometimes that I fell so quickly and unexpectedly. Although it was a shock I am grateful it happened that way. Be gentle on yourself, get some nice things in the diary if you can. I remember booking Disneyland Paris for last March. I booked it in the December, we were ttc no2 then and I remember saying to dp 'I bet I'll be pregnant by then and I won't be able to go on any rides' Erin was conceived in the January and I was 9 weeks pregnant when we went. I so so hope this is the month for you, Blue and Blizy xx Oh my consultant is Nime at QA (her surname begins with V but is unpronounceable!) she's wonderful.

Thank you Blue will be counting down the next 10-12 days with you xx

Maybe we should have a weekend away together? Wink
I could really do with a holiday/weekend away, haven't been able to due to no money :(

AngelGeorgie · 26/01/2012 16:00

Fan again , what you re feeling is perfectly normal. I don t post too much on Phoebs as I am aware it can be upsetting to read about rainbow babies for others.if I say " your time will come" you won t believe me as I didn t this time last year before I got pg. Sending you big, big hugs. Have you got any trips booked yet? Come on get something booked to have a different focus. Xxxx
whatever glad you feel better. A good consultant is worth their weight in gold. Xx
Blue glad you re DD is better.
Cheese xxxxx nearly there xxx hope ds is ok?
Love to all xxx

Bluetinkerbell · 26/01/2012 15:30

Don't worry too much about having days like that wtw you're bound to be like that after what you've gone through! we're right here to help you through the next 7 months... and longer :)

DD1 seems better pfieuw! :)

DH had an early start this morning and last night he said: no more funny business tonight Grin think I exhausted him the days before! Wink men eh... they complain when they don't get enough and then we you make an effort they can't be bothered Hmm

fan you're not far behind me cycle wise! I'm on CD19, 2DPO! have ordered 2 FRER tests today so I can test in about 10-12 days :)
big ((hugs)) for you too!

cheese thinking of you ((hugs))

fanjodisfunction · 26/01/2012 15:27

Sorry

Cheese so glad the infusions seam to be working, has it helped your needle phobia or has it made it worse. I hope you DC gets better soon and its something really simple to put right.

Ive been on the verge of tears all day and I dont have a reason for it really except that Im not happy. Im usaully fine have my bad days as we all do, but last night I just wanted to curl in the corner and cry Im glad I tried to do something, watched Sherlock which I love and then went to sleep. Dh was out last night, I wanted him to have a good time as hes been down lately and I put on such a brave face and dropped him off, and then as soon as he was out of sight I started to cry and couldnt stop, for a while. I dont know if it was because I just felt so useless.

Sorry girls to burden you with my woes, I know you dont mind and your the only ones who really know. I shall hopefully feel better once I have had a chat with DH and a good cry in his arms.

I think though I love talking to you girls, but it does make me jealous and upset sometimes that most you are pg and Im still ttc.

fanjodisfunction · 26/01/2012 15:02

What is the name of your consultant whatever?

I'm kind of ok, CD12 today so I shall start ov testing today, should ov on day 15 or 16 so a bit early but I have to do it to keep me sane really. I had a bit of a crying evening by myself, hating myself. I'm trying to be positive today, will have a chat with DH tonight try and get my head back to some kind of normality.

Whatevertheweather · 26/01/2012 14:40

Thank you all for your reassurances. I feel much more positive today. Not sure what was up yesterday I had 'the doom' I think. Went to bed at 8pm last night think I needed it. Bloody hell it is going to be a long 7 months! Consultant was so lovely and reassuring, she really put me at ease and it's so nice not to have to explain what happened with Erin and she seems to totally understand how hard this will be. Lovely lovely lady. Today I am pregnant. I like that Smile

Cheese this last bit must be so so hard. You've done so well to get this far. I hope they can give you a definite 'plan' tomorrow. Poor ds1 and poor you stress you could do without right now. My niece had identical symptoms when she was about 6 all the blood tests revealed was low iron count so she was prescribed children's iron tablets for about 4-5 months and she was okay again. Fx it's something simple like that.

Blue poor dd1 Sad she's having a rotten time, lots of children at Katie's school have been off poorly. Fx your endeavours are fruitful this month Wink

How are you doing Fan?

35 weeks Shakey nearly there! Do you have an induction/delivery date?

Fx for Ant's interviews Angel Hope you feel better soon xx

OP posts:
CheeseandGherkins · 26/01/2012 10:46

whatever really glad you scan went well, I was also put back dates early on in this pregnancy, I ovulated later than the "norm" so that explained it for me.

Miasmummy (hugs)

Angel good luck to Ant for the interviews, hope something comes up good.

razz hope you're doing ok still xx

Blue glad the uti has gone. Fingers crossed for you this month xx

shakey 35 weeks! Wow, you'll be meeting your baby soon!

fanjo that sounds an odd reaction! How are you getting on?

Too I had my second lot of iron but didn't get the third as I asked for a blood test first due to the horrendous cannula attempts to get the iron in before. They tried 7 times in total over the two lots and I'm needle phobic as it is! My iron levels went up to 8.5 as of Monday and they said it would take a couple of weeks for the iron to fully take effect so I'm expecting another rise in the mean time, plus I'm eating as well as I can and taking lots of spatone too. How are things with you now?

Have the consultants tomorrow morning so I'm hoping to find out some more about a delivery date, I'm so on edge I can barely think straight. Sleeping is getting hard too, keep waking and I can't stop thinking about everything and worrying about something going wrong. Baby seems happy still though, ctgs going well and movements are good, it's just me that isn't coping with it! Dh is feeling the same as me too. I'll be 33 weeks on Saturday so I think it's a good stage to get to now, anything else is a bonus. My sugar levels are still up and down, really odd, so I'm not sure what they'll think about that either.

Also worried about ds1 now, he's been looking so ill for a few weeks, pale, no energy, bags under his eyes, bruising easily etc so took him to the drs yesterday and they did a blood test. We have a follow up appointment for tomorrow but I'll phone later and see if the results are in. Really worried that it's something serious and the dr seemed concerned too.

Anyway, hope everyone's doing ok and hanging in there xxx

AngelGeorgie · 26/01/2012 00:11

Miaalexandrasmumy xxxx hugs xx my first visit to our GP after Georgie died he thought I was there to have a coil fitted as all he'd recieved from the hospital with regards to discharge summary was a letter with my details & IUD ( intra uterine death) but of course he assumed I was having an inta uterine device fitted.
Xxxx

AngelGeorgie · 26/01/2012 00:09

Thanks Fan xxx me too!!!

Bluetinkerbell · 25/01/2012 21:57

You could have ov'd late... wtw with Sterre my LMP was 7 January. I tested positive 22nd Feb, 2 weeks and 1 week before that negative but symptoms, when I went for 12 week scan at 12+1 they backdated me to 9+something saying I conceived 10 February
Today you are pregnant :)

Big hugs to everyone (hate typing from on my phone) DD1 is lying on my lap with suspected ear infection :(

fanjodisfunction · 25/01/2012 20:53

miasmummy hugs to you.

angel you have a created a mantra that Im sure we shall all use in our pregnancies from now on, I know I shall. Good luck to ant I hope he gets an interview and a job soon.

MiaAlexandrasmummy · 25/01/2012 20:33

hi all, nice to see all the lovely news about rainbow babies, especially the good news today from whatever. (fan - not so great about the sweat issue!)

Just will continue to quietly lurk here in the background... thinking more about Mia than a rainbow baby at the moment, as it was 3 months yesterday. A lifetime.

Despite this, trying to think forward - went to the GP to ask about fertility blood tests, and she mistakenly blundered saying that "oh you have a daughter, don't you?" I do, yes, but... somewhat awkward for her as I explained - could never make Mia invisible like that. Asked for Mia's details to be added to my notes, as she is such an important part of my life.

AngelGeorgie · 25/01/2012 20:23

Hi all.
Blue go girl !!! Fx for your month now xx

razzdazz · 25/01/2012 19:59

Hello all, typing at work so will have to be quick!!!
Congrats wtw, try not to panic, they put me 5 days out at an early scan and I had caught up 2 weeks later. Great news that there was a hb.
blue glad the uti has cleared up and you were able to dtd Grin
fan how unfortunate for FIL to be allergic to his own sweat!!!
Hello too, hope you are well and nice to hear from you shakey
Also thinking of cheese and her baby gherkin.
Catch up soon, take care all x

fanjodisfunction · 25/01/2012 19:04

whatever so glad it went well, Dont worry too much about being told you are further back than you thought, you never know when you turn up for your nuchel scan you might be brought forward again.

Are you counting from af first day? did you do a ovulation test? you may have ov'd twice that month, you never know. I guess you will have to adopt angels mantra 'today I am pregnant' and step away from google and all those things, it cant be good for the stress level.

Whatevertheweather · 25/01/2012 18:58

But thats what I don't understand Blue what am I 6+5 from?? It can't possibly be conception, 6 weeks 5 days ago was 9th December and i'm 8 weeks from 1st day of lmp. I don't get it!!!

OP posts:
Bluetinkerbell · 25/01/2012 18:54

ok! step away from Google! Wink you do realise know that even if you dtd on those days the egg will have probably implanted later, so not a very big difference really!

Whatevertheweather · 25/01/2012 18:48

I'm trying not to Blue. I have 28 day cycles and conception must have come from dtd on 16th and 17th December. Gah I hate dating I don't understand it!! Need to step away from Google.

OP posts:
Bluetinkerbell · 25/01/2012 18:44

wtw how long were your cycles before? you might just have long cycles without realising it! It did with Sterre, they backdated me 3 weeks! Don't worry too much! x

Whatevertheweather · 25/01/2012 17:43

Hello Smile

Well been for my scan and there's definitely a bean there, in the right place and we saw a clear heartbeat. But it was measuring 6 weeks 5 days and by the first day of my lmp (30th Nov) I should be 8 weeks. So now I'm confused and scared it's not developing properly. Has anyone had this on an early scan and it all turned out okay?? Consultant didn't seem overly concerned so I know I should just be happy. Got to book in with community midwife now and get referred for 12 week scan.

OP posts:
fanjodisfunction · 25/01/2012 12:28

blue yay for the uti going away!

too he's apparently allergic to his sweat when its cold or something like that.

Bluetinkerbell · 25/01/2012 10:00

hi all,

UTI has magically disappeared Grin starting taking cranberry tablets yesterday as well... hopefully they will prevent some in the future!
Managed to seduce DH last night Wink we dtd twice yesterday... Grin it was ovulation day... so hopefully we managed it this month. One more go tonight just to be on the safe side Wink

shakeyjake · 25/01/2012 08:50

Morning girls.

Winnie congratulations on the bfp.

ate good luck on your scan today. I always feel nervous and irrationally scared before my scans.

blue hope the uti clears and fx its yours and blizy and fans month for bfp.

I am now 35 weeks, thought I would start feeling more relaxed the longer this pg continues but if anything I am more scared of something going wrong. Have my scan and consultant appt next week.
