Angels and Rainbows - The beauty of a rainbow does not negate the ravages of the storm. But it can provide colour and hope.

“Rainbow Babies” is the understanding that the beauty of a rainbow does not negate the ravages of the storm. When a rainbow appears, it doesn’t mean the storm never happened or that the family is not still dealing with its aftermath. What it means is that something beautiful and full of light has appeared in the midst of the darkness and clouds. Storm clouds may still hover but the rainbow provides a counter balance of color, energy and hope.

Ah Shakey really not too long to go now Smile That is a shame about having to have the section under general though x

Blue (((hugs))) it must be so emotionally hard for you and Fan and Blizy. I think you are amazing the support you provide all of us xxx

Anyway I'd better get back to doing battle with various IT depts trying to get my access levels sorted. Fun!

shakey wow that's so close and a bit sucky that you'll be out for the birth. Will DH be able to be there even if you are under the general?

blue I agree day one is always aweful even if your not ttc, men don't understand. I had the same with DH but he now understands that saying that kind of stuff to me only makes me more stressed. Its also stressy for you because your cycles are changing. Sometimes we have to take it on the chin and get on with it, but have a cry first and a rant about it.

AngelGeorgie · 07/02/2012 10:15

Arh Blue it is shitty. No words of wisdom but sending you much love xxxx

spilttheteaagain · 07/02/2012 10:05

oh blue Sad
My mantra was always that CD1 was a shitty day and CD2 would feel better. It's ok to be gutted and drink Wine. I think stress can delay or stop ovulation, but you're fairly sure you are ovulating so I wouldn't worry about being too stressed IYSWIM. fan is right, something like a 1 in 4 chance of conceiving even if timing etc is all fine, egg and swimmers present. Seems mad doesn't it. I remember thinking "with x million of you in there, how can you MISS the bloody egg??!!"
big hugs xx

Bluetinkerbell · 07/02/2012 09:40

had a really big emotional breakdown yesterday. DH thinks I am way too stressed to be able to conceive, he says I'm too focussed on it and should try to relax more. I just don't know how...

shakeyjake · 07/02/2012 09:35

wow so much has happenned!

cheese congratulations on baby Ella what a lovely name and hope you are both doing well.

blue sorry AF got you again grrrr.

wtw going back to work is hard and glad your work is being so good with you.

miasmum fx for you today that you get the BFP you deserve.

fan also good luck with your testing next week, what a fantastic valentines pressie that would be.

I had my growth scan and consulatant appt last week, baby is growing fine but the amount of comments from midwives and consultant to how big the baby feels makes me think i am going to have a whopper. she is still breech and because of previous c section they wont try to turn her i am booked in for c section on 23rd feb as they wont do it before i am 39 weeks grrrrr.
yesterday saw the aneasatist (spelling is rubbish) and because i have a metal rod in my back and a curve of the spine i have to have a general so gutted i will be asleep when they deliver her. just hoping all this scrubbing floors will make her move but she seems quite happy to dig her head in my ribs

MiaAlexandrasmummy · 06/02/2012 21:47

wtw today must have been challenging on a level I cannot imagine...

thanks for the good wishes, not sure it is my month, although I will still be upset if it's not. Finding out blood test results tomorrow.

Whatevertheweather · 06/02/2012 21:34

Thank you Too I've had 5 months off. 3 months maternity leave, 1 month accrued holiday then January signed off sick. How are you feeling today? When are you working until?

They suggested a phased return Fan which was really kind so have until beginning of March until I am back full time.

Miasmummy fx for you as well this month xx

wtw I know its shocking I don't know what I would do with out you guys. I really hope she can talk her DH round.

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 06/02/2012 20:13

Wtw, for making it through Day 1. It's amazing how quickly you'll settle back in, though. I'm so sorry you had to go through all your old emails like that and found some upsetting ones. How long were you off for? I was off for 18 weeks including the annual leave I took before Thea was born, so nearly 6 weeks before she arrived and 12 afterwards. Then I managed about 3 weeks on phased return before getting signed off for a further 6 weeks. I did just slot back into place very swiftly - probably the fact I work for local government where things change very slowly helped there.

Miasmum, FX for you!

Whatevertheweather · 06/02/2012 19:54

Oh crumbs fan that's not good, didn't even know it was possible to do such things on computers Sad I only ever access through my phone.

OP posts:
fanjodisfunction · 06/02/2012 19:52

wtw meant to say, that must have so difficult to read. Well done for getting through the day. Are you full time or is it a phased return?

fanjodisfunction · 06/02/2012 19:44

wtw I pm'd her and she told me her DH had put a filter on the computer so she can't see or access mumsnet or netmums. I'm appalled really, DH can't believe it. I have tried to encourage her to talk to him tonight to tell him how she needs this support network. Apparently he doesn't want their personal business on the forum.

Anyway, I'm so sorry blue I guess you just have to carry on, I read there's only a 24% chance each month and that's only if the sperm reaches the egg. I know it depressing. I think swi every other day is the best way to go rather than every day. Make sure your taking your vitamins that DH is taking his (zinc and vit c) also no hot baths etc. I'm sure you do all this already. We just have to keep trying hun, that's all we can do. It sucks, it sucks big time. As I said once before wouldn't it be nice if we came on heat like dogs or our pee changed colour when we were fertile!

How are you pg ladies doing?

cheese how's ella I hope she's behaving herself and getting stronger, maybe she's already home with you.

Waves to all.

Bluetinkerbell · 06/02/2012 18:54

Thanks all! sometimes I think is it ever going to happen? :( Of the 6 days I had Highs and Peaks on CBFM we dtd 4 days out of 6 with last peak day twice that day, but didn't day after... I don't know what more we could do than try to SWI every single day...

wtw well done for getting through today and reading those emails! ((hugs)) x

Mias hopefully it's a BFP for you soon! I will start CD1 tomorrow... which makes this a 30 day cycle.

Whatevertheweather · 06/02/2012 18:34

Oh blue that bastarding witch Sad Big hugs lovely, I know this month held extra significance for you xx

Fan fx for you that she does not show up xx

I also saw the fb post but think I missed something as didn't see it was her h that blocked access??

Well first day back at work done. Was actually okay until I finally got access to my emails and it loaded straight up to 25/08/11 as the last time I logged in. I was emailing clients at 4.30pm, not having any clue that my whole world was to cave in just 4hrs later. Unbelievable. I also saw the brief email I sent from my blackberry 2 days after to a few colleagues saying what had happened. The disbelief and confusion in the words is palpable yet I'm calming outlining what needs to be done on some cases I was working on. There was also some sympathy emails from colleagues that were hard to read. Took me right back to the early days of receiving cards etc. Luckily someone spotted the tears and took me outside to compose myself. I felt like a bit of an imposter but am sure that will pass.

blue sorry to hear that. Sad think I might be the same, AF due on Thurs, and while temps and stats look good in theory, don't feel pg at all. So trying not to get excited.

too, ciwi and razz hold in there ladies!! we are here for you, thinking of you, and admiring you. Thanks

blizy / fan / blue also seen that FB post. Not sure how to help...

AngelGeorgie · 06/02/2012 18:10

Blue xxxx sorry xxxx

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 06/02/2012 17:49

Oh boo, Blue.

blizy · 06/02/2012 17:07

Blue- Sad for you.

Fan- I seen that earlier, I would be lost without mn, it is my sole support network well apart from Dh.

fanjodisfunction · 06/02/2012 16:43

I'm so sorry its AF blue.

Bluetinkerbell · 06/02/2012 16:16

thank for that fan it's ridiculous that he has done that!

it is AF Angry I really thought we had managed it this month... don't know whether I should go back to temping or not...

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 06/02/2012 15:44

Shock Someone's DH has blocked them from accessing MN? Shock Angry I would give DH his head to play with if he did any such thing! Hope your friend is okay - sounds like there's some back story there.

fanjodisfunction · 06/02/2012 14:40

blue I've just sent u a facebook message, its about a fellow mumsnetter whose dh had put a filter on their computer so she can't access mumsnet. I think she made me a friend through you, I've just been messaging her to say if she needs some support to message me anytime she likes. Can't believe her DH has done this to her.

blizy · 06/02/2012 14:30

Too, razz and ciwi- I can't imagine how you must be feeling hugs to you all.

Fan- in ok'ish thanks. I had a lovely weekend. I met with a lady from the feb ante/postnatal thread. It was fab!

Bluetinkerbell · 06/02/2012 14:12

it's very annoying when symptoms are the same for AF and pregnancy indeed.
I have some brownish discharge on pantyliner, and a little on wiping but no red blood...
Told DH that if I'm not pregnant now, he will have to perform on every single day I have a high and peak reading Wink
But we will have to wait and see whether this turns out to be proper AF or not...
thanks for all the hugs... it helps that other people are thinking about me :)
