NOW BOARDING!

I'm due AF 11/1/12 so out of time for the previous bus so thought I'd start a new one! Well a space shuttle (why not!!!).

So I'll start:

ahhhhhpushit TTC#2 AF due 11/1

I'm currently on cd 15 so have been SWI like mad this week :)

whats the earliest anyones got a bfp? and is it worth splashing out? internet cheapies say they get early results but not sure if this is true.

busylady99 · 19/01/2012 14:12

I'm sorry to hear that Lexie1970. Best of luck for some good news at your appointment in March

ahhhhhpushit · 19/01/2012 14:00

I found i was still getting BFNs on internet cheapie tests for many days after getting a positive on a superdrug test. i know i go on about the superdrug tests but they really are the best!!

re. home pregnancy tests, a tip: if anyone if looking to buy them, buy the cheap ones off the internet, I remember last year i got a pack of 5 for £2.50! They all work in the same way so you can't go wrong, it's just the display & the packaging that's different.
If you buy the cheap ones, what you get is just the little card stick (the bit that is inside all the expensive fancy plastic tests) and you just pee into a pot (try a disposable plastic cup) and dip the test into the pee-pot.
You will get one line to show the test has worked, and 2 lines if it's positive.

if anyone is interested how it works, there is a chemical inside the card (just along where the line would be) that reacts with a hormone in your pee (if you're pregnant) that turns it a colour so you can see a line.
The urine seeps up the card and goes past the test line to make another coloured line to show it has worked - this other line is always higher up - so you know if you got only 1 line it has to be a negative, and 2 lines it has to be positive.
(of course, you can get negatives anyway very early on if you test too early as there is not enough hormone in your urine - for this reason, wait a few days if you can, and also test with your first pee of the day which is 'stronger'!)

hope this is useful!

Lexie1970 · 19/01/2012 11:57

I need to disembark this lovely shuttle :(

Had blood results back yesterday and I appear to be post menopausal which is not great seeing as I am only 41- got appointment with fertility clinic in March to see if there is any hope so I bow out wishing the best of luck with all those BFP's and fingers crossed for all others.

i will just lurk.....

Thereisamumthatnevergoesout · 19/01/2012 11:21

That's ttc dc no. 3 and cycle no. 1 by the way! iPhone issues with hash sign...

Thereisamumthatnevergoesout · 19/01/2012 10:38

Hi all, after lurking for a week I thought I'd get myself on this thread. The reason why I hadn't already was because we haven't been properly ttc this month. Have been trying to convince dh for 2 years to ttc dc3 but he's always been reluctant. He seemed to be softening slightly over Xmas but I didn't get hopes up as he has given me false hope before without actually entertaining any swi! This month we did kind of swi once around my supposedly fertile days. So although technically it is remotely possible that I could have conceived, realistically it isn't likely. I'm just chuffed that I get to be uncertain about whether I am pregnant rather be absolutely sure I can't be unless contraception failed. Uncertainty is s big step up from having zero possibility.

My stats are ttc %233 cycle %231 af due 23/1

Refusing to symptom spot (who am I kidding?!)

I like the high amount of bfps on this shuttle. Gives hope to the rest of us!

PuggyMum · 19/01/2012 09:42

According to my app I too am now in the 2ww... The ov sticks have never been positive though so now I am a bit worried! I'll keep on testing as I do have quite long cycles so could be a couple of days out I guess. I mean they're not rocket science to use are they?
Poor DH is knackered with the SWI after the weekend we had! I feel sorry for him!!

frazzled74 · 19/01/2012 09:27

can i add myself to 2ww list please, im 10 dpo ,but im still not convinced that i actually know when or if im ovulating, . im so tired and got sore boobs but got a bfn this morning so im expecting af to arrive early next week if not before. This is 3rd cycle of trying after a miscarriage,I think i will do proper charting, vitamins from zita west and swi every other day next month!!!

DelphineDonkeygoesDoolally · 19/01/2012 09:19

Oh! and I dreamt I was pregnant last night....

DelphineDonkeygoesDoolally · 19/01/2012 09:18

Welcome Chair!

Buslady, yes I think you're in the dreaded 2ww!

After being convinced I was definitely not pregnant, now I wonder... I was soooo tired last night that I fell asleep while watching Sherlock on iplayer - I get up very early in the morning but still that was total exhaustion.

I was feeling a tad queasy as well and again this morning with a slightly bitter taste in my mouth. No bloating, sore boobs or else though.

I think given my CM I ovulated on 9th which makes me 10DPO. Since my mother died in September my periods aren't as regular (used to be 25 to 28 days and have been as long as 38 days since) so I don't really where I'm at. I figure that if AF comes, it'll be either this weekend or next week. Now the question is: when to test??

busylady99 · 19/01/2012 09:06

After moping yesterday my temp has shot up to 36.5 Smile. Does that suggest I'm now in the 2ww?

ChairOfTheBored · 18/01/2012 21:55

Oh, and my vital statistics as it were TTC #1 cycle 1, AF 25/1 (ish)

ChairOfTheBored · 18/01/2012 21:50

Not sure of list adding etiquette, but on 2ww, (just as well, DH too busy at work to much impregnating at the moment!)

Have become extra sensitive to boob pain and twinges, but as this is cycle on of TTC #1 think I may be more neurotic than fertile!

Test purchased though (in bulk deal with ovulation tests, covering both eventualities!) so will get peeing soon...

howiwonder · 18/01/2012 21:04

exactly, Pipbin!!

Chicken I think I have the exhaustion issue so not sure if I share your enthusiasm on the horniness front - thats bad isnt it?! I think DH and I need a good bloody night out to have a bit of a laugh - dont want the SWI to become a chore...

settling down to watch one born every minute will do little to help this broodiness, but i love it!!

Chunkychicken · 18/01/2012 20:55

Was in the same boat howiwonder with weird spotting but AF nearly gone, & agree with pipbin that I am getting really broody/horny in equal measures, desperate to get going again! Plus its been a couple of weeks due to illness/exhaustion so getting a bit desperate!!! (TMI??!! :o)

Pipbin · 18/01/2012 20:31

And the annoying thin howiwonder is that you just want AF to arrive, nob off, and let you get on with it again.

howiwonder · 18/01/2012 20:24

hi all
havent looked at the thread for ages - congrats to all the BFPs Ive missed!!!

Feel in a really annoying limbo at the moment - AF late by a couple of days but keep getting BFNs so am assuming I'm not pregnant and am just having a weird cycle month. If AF is gonna appear, I wish it would just hurry up and get on with it as I keep having this niggling hope even though I feel very periody...

Hope everyone is well xx

Wow, Prunella I came on to moan about being CD33 and in limbo, your CD56 really takes the biscuit!!

Queueing system is a great idea - take a ticket and when they call your number - you're next! Would definitely be a tiny sharp-elbowed italian woman pushing to the front though bitter experience

Prunella79 · 18/01/2012 17:25

can't keep up at the moment with the amount of friends announcing imminent babies, i think i've run out of fingers for sure...my british instinct is yearning for a proper queueing system.

cd56 and no signs either way, oh well Brew Biscuit

Oops - typing on my phone and hit send by mistake!

It's not the wish to TTC I'm up & down about, just the likelihood of success. Half my signs indicate no Ov but the other half do. Most confusing!

My temp hasn't shot up particularly, it's staying around 36.1 & 36.2. (Should I get a thermometer that goes to 2dp?) so I didn't think I'd Ov'd but then I've had light period-like cramps on my left side and (tmi warning) a slight brown discharge on CD 18 & 19 which I read may be a sign of Ov. We've been SWI approx every other day but my back is bad and my DH is worried about me so I'm concerned we might be missing a window.

Still, it's been wonderful to read about all the BFPs. Congratulations ladies and fingers crossed for everyone on the 2ww.
