PeppaTwig · 21/01/2012 09:49

Ok, I know I wasn't supposed to but I did.... It's only a blimmin' great BFP!!! Big shocker!

Chunkychicken · 21/01/2012 09:12

Was regular as clockwork til I did a meal replacement diet for 3 months. Since then, cycles have been anything between 26-33 days. 26 takes me to today.... and 33 is next Friday. Either extreme would mean we were at it at all the wrong times! Aarrgghh!

Thereisamumthatnevergoesout · 20/01/2012 21:15

peppa we are cycle buddies so hoping you do get bfp. Somehow it makes me feel positive about mine.

The question is, are you usually regular? If so, am thinking unusual spotting is very positive sign. If your cycles are more erratic, who knows?

Fx for you!

BlueX · 20/01/2012 21:12

Thereisamumthatnevergoesout - Thanks! I'm usually regular like clockwork so it is a bit odd that I'm late this month (but it is only one day late so far so trying not to get hopes up!)

PeppaTwig - maybe try and hold out until Sunday? That's a good compromise? Wink

PeppaTwig · 20/01/2012 20:07

Had a tiny bit of brown spotting on wednesday (sorry tmi! Grin) so thought AF was on its way (a few days early I might add) but nothing since. Not actually due til Monday, or thereabouts.
Trying to resist the temptation to POAS tomorrow morning. I have a FR test which claims to be able to tell up to 4 days early...
Someone tell me I'm crazy and I should wait til at least monday! I'm going mad here!
Could wednesday have been implantation?!

Thereisamumthatnevergoesout · 20/01/2012 19:31

Welcome blue good luck with the test. Are you usually regular?

Thereisamumthatnevergoesout · 20/01/2012 19:30

Winnie you will be able to officially start the October 2012 pregnancy thread!

Another symptom,

I want cake NOW.

BlueX · 20/01/2012 19:29

Hello all!

This is my first time posting on mumsnet so bear with me please, trying to get the hang of this and all the acronyms! Hopefully I can join the shuttle this month?

Congrats to all who have had BFPs this month! :o

So background info is we already have a DD who is 2yrs 4 months. We are TTC #2 and AF was due yesterday (19/01/2012)...so far no AF and two pregnancy tests have both been BFNs. I'm just hoping it's due to the fact that there is not enough hcg to detect just yet, or I'm late Confused

Currently debating whether to do another test tomorrow morning or to hold out until Sunday...

Winnie81 · 20/01/2012 19:06

Thanks all x I showed to dh who has had a permanent grin since I told him and he was saying the same a line is a line! Lol

Thereisamumthatnevergoesout · 20/01/2012 18:09

Winnie - what aaahpushit said Smile

Thereisamumthatnevergoesout · 20/01/2012 18:07

Coming back to symptom spotting, I have some more for the list:

My friend dreamt i was pregnant
Another friend said to me that she 'could see me having another baby'
My uterus area felt tender when I sneezed the other day.

Other than that I have tender boobs (because I keep poking them violently to check if they are tender).

I am not testing unless I af doesn't arrive by Tuesday. Not expecting to be that gutted if af does arrive but it's only cycle no1.

I've never used cheapy tests. Didn't know about them!

Has anyone watched call the midwife? Was so heartwarming.

ahhhhhpushit · 20/01/2012 18:00

Winnie a line is a line!!!!!!!

MTNW congrats! What a memorable way of getting your bfp Grin

chicken thanks for the welcome. Totally know what you mean about wanting gap between kids to be neat. There are 2.5 years between ds and dd.

Just realised that if I were to get bfp this or next month, there would be 5 years between dd and dc3. I love the neatness of that!

mrsmellow · 20/01/2012 15:23

Thanks Prunella79

I just had a look back and we really are in the same boat. It is intensely annoying isn't it?! I hope we get resolution soon.... There was somebody with a similarly long cycle in about Oct/Nov that got a bfp eventually so fingers crossed! I kind of knew that the pill stuffed things up, but I really thought it would take less time than this to sort itself out...
Must invest in some more pregnancy tests myself soon - hope you don't need a second packet Smile I guess weekly testing is sensible - I'll start at 40 days again....If you do see a Dr., tell us what they say!

fingers crossed Winnie81

busylady99 · 20/01/2012 13:41

Good luck Winnie81 - sounds promising. Let us know how it goes tomorrow.

Winnie81 · 20/01/2012 12:43

I gave in this morning and POAS! I got a faint line but I'm not convinced so will test again tmrw or Sunday (or both)!

Prunella79 · 20/01/2012 11:30

mrsmellow i have no helpful information sadly but you're not alone; i'm in exactly the same boat just a bit further on in days, no sure signs except things that make me go Hmm then nothing again. had what might have been pmt symptoms this time last week cd49/50/51 then nothing.

i have gone down the maddening route of testing though - once a weekish after the 35ish day mark - just to be sure i can carry on drinking from time to time. bought a pack of 50 interent cheapies back in september for about £7.50, thought i'd never get through them but i could at least test at will, but now i wonder if i might some day have to buy more???

cd58 today, starting to seriously consider paying a visit to the dr to ask WTF

busylady99 · 20/01/2012 10:50

For those who have already got their BFPs, you (and hopefully the rest of us too) will have your babies in the Year of the Dragon. I saw this article on the BBC website today about how lucky it is to have a Dragon in the family :)

mrsmellow · 20/01/2012 09:23

Hey all, Congrats to MakeTeaNotWar - how exciting on way to NZ...
Sorry about AF to others.

Can I ask a question - I've been on the pill for a long time and came off nearly 6 months ago and have had 40+day cycles since - no PMT symptoms, no EWCM, nada. And it is so long since I had normal periods I can't remember what is normal. I'm now CD30 and for the last 2-3days have had lower abdominal discomfort and bloating with occ lower back pain, which somewhere in the recesses of my brain I think is PMT like symptoms - is that right?

I'm not going to test until after 40 days unless AF gets me (therein lies madness), but am finding the prospect of a slightly shorter cycle exciting as it might be the start of normalisation post stopping pill. Smile What do you guys think?
I think I'd just be so relieved to have some kind of hormonally related symptoms that indicate my ovaries aren't still hibernating that I'd be grateful to see AF (which is just wrong, I should be hoping for BFP, but suspect that is just far too optimistic!)

cherrypiew3 · 19/01/2012 21:44

MakeTeaNotWar congratulations on the BFP.Smile

RunningKatie and Pipbin sorry Af got you.

On the age gap subject I have 2 years between dd and ds1 and 2 years 6 months between ds1 and ds2. If I got caught this month I would have a 6 year gap between ds2 and the new baby. I sometimes wonder if we have left it to long now.

Pipbin · 19/01/2012 21:22

Thanks Del
I'm using opks, but I'm going to start temping for this next cycle as I've found OPKs to be a bit tricky.

Mr Bin is booked back in for another test in a few weeks, thankfully before my fertile week.

Also AF hasn't got me properly yet. Just spotting at the moment really.
