Thanks Digital and apologies to everyone for that v long post of my history but a lot to fit in!

Hi Suemays that's really interesting about Oxford, explains why they weren't keen to do immune testing when I asked after my mc. They said I should carry on and have one more go at ivf first, thank god I didn't listen to them. I still have another one or two free attempts with them as we have frozen embryos there. Mr S thought it would be best to do the super ov for 6 mths and then if not go back to ivf. I guess I could still take the pred without telling them......
Do you mind if I ask about your history/treatment?

digitalgirl · 21/01/2012 21:07

Welcome Pebbles, funny how you and Free seem to share everything - even the killer cells!

Regarding IVF, I had a chat with my acupuncturist today about all the different clinics and how they view killer cells. He told me that the Oxford fertility clinic do not believe in Killer cells and so will not perform an IVF with drugs to surpress killer cells. Apparently ARGC do treat for killer cells with IVF and that is one of the reasons the main consultant was put under investigation a while ago as like Dr S he was using doing treatments outside of the normal plans for IVF and is one of the reasons their success rate is so high (especially for women who have had unsuccessful IVFs). My acupuncturist seems to think I dont need IVF as we need to get the treatment right for the killer cells first.

digitalgirl · 21/01/2012 20:31

Welcome pebbles - lovely to have you onboard, but sorry for the struggle you've had so far. What a journey!

duggs sounds like a fab night out!

pq and snoopy sorry it's looking like cp's for you both Sad. Had my hopes up for you. snoopy if you're taking cyclogest that could be delaying your af.

Would love ds to do a streetdance class. Might have to investigate - but I suspect he's still too young.

All fine here, except knackered. Was supposed to be out last night but couldn't face leaving the house and trekking to south London. Will be doing that tomorrow for a pub lunch but at least that'll be over by 3pm. Is it wrong that I'm actually more excited about our new front door arriving on Monday for the new porch?

Might try amending list in a bit. See who's got scans coming up this week. Will have to get laptop though, phone about to die.

Don't be jealous its awful! Actually perking up a bit after some coke (as in the drink I might add) makes you burp and feel less sick! Mind you the Metformin is making me do some spectacular burping, can compete with my dh now. Sorry this is probably way tmi.
I must admit Free I occasionally thought I would never see the day when you would want kids :o

freelancegirl · 21/01/2012 18:53

Rather jealous of the hangovers. an off out to eat now and might just treat myself to a sniff of someone's wine. Maybe pick up a glass from a nearby table and have a good whiff :)

Yes it is strange that Pebbles and I are here in the same boat. although she was trying when I was going -children? Ew! But it's been amazing to have each others support since I started 'trying' and then failing spectacularly. And with the nk cells thing, having known her from such a young age and knowing family history of autoimmune things, allergies she had etc etc itadw sense from my dr googling/obsessive research that she should be tested too. Et voila! Pebbles we will add you to the list!

Pebbles73 · 21/01/2012 18:20

Euro please feel free to ask away, will be happy to help if I can. Let's hope you don't have to move on to ivf but if you do don't worry as its really not bad at all. You get used to the injections in no time at all. Well my journey has been v long! Came off the pill about eight years ago although didn't really start ttc for another year as my cycle went haywire! After about 18 mths had a laparoscopy and hysteroscopy and told all fine, year or so later still nothing but took a break from it all as got fed up and thought it might happen if I think about it (if only I knew!) Went back to the doctors but because I had moved and had been a year or so had to have the above again and still unexplained so referred for ivf. Took ages but eventually started ivf at Hammersmith (nightmare place to be avoided if poss!) where i found out i have pcos. I overstimulated (v uncomfortable) because of the pcos but they got 28 eggs of which 21 fertilised. Embryos had to be frozen to give me time to recover and then I got a bfp first time but turned out to be chemical. Had some more goes there then managed to change to Oxford Fertiliy Clinic whic is soo much better! had a fresh go but no success, overstimulated again and then got a bfp at the next dozen go back in September but never saw a h/b and started miscarrying around 7wks. Unfortunately dragged on for two long months and then just got my first AF since last weekend. Phew bet you wished you hadn't asked now!! :) oh and of course went to see Mr S as persuaded by Free and diagnosed as having high nk cells.

duggs1976 · 21/01/2012 17:56

Yes am hungover. My folks going " around the world" tomorrow until June so farewell dinner tonight with my brother and his new wife ! Trying to muster the energy. I will be asking about IVF I might pm you or ask on other thread rather than clog up nk one?!

eurochick · 21/01/2012 17:55

Welcome pebbles. I am planning on going to the IVF route around April all being well, so I might well pick your brains in the run up to it.

Where did you have yours? (If you feel like sharing, feel free to post a potted history of your "journey". I think most of us have at one time or another and there is a summary spreadsheet somewhere!).

Pebbles73 · 21/01/2012 17:47

Thank you Stogan, everyone is so friendly and welcoming. Don't worry I know what you mean :). It's great to be able to talk to other people in the same situation, Free will be pleased as it means I won't have to bug just her all the time with my questions! I am still learning about the whole nk cell thing sonits great to have all you ladies to talk to. Although if anyone wants to ask anything about ivf then I'm your girl.

Stogan · 21/01/2012 17:31

Hi pebbles good to have u here, good in an extra person kind o way not that u have the cells ( u no what I mean I'll stop digging now !!) so strange that u and free grew up together and now end up in The same situation ?! Big welcome anyway Grin?

Pebbles73 · 21/01/2012 17:26

Hi ladies, thought it was time I stopped lurking on this thread and joined in if you don't mind. As I said on the super ov thread am new to this kind of thing, not even on Facebook much to Free's disgust :). I can confirm the story of the peas is indeed true and am sure she once did it with gravy granules, yuck! Free I know we always liked to do everything together even to wearing the same clothes but it's getting ridiculous now with the killer cells, lol!

Duggs do you have a hangover from your night out? As I mentioned on super ov I have a terrible one, making the most of my time off from treatment but maybe a little too much last night!

snoopygirl · 21/01/2012 16:27

Afternoon.....AFTERNOON DUGGS!! HOW'S YOUR HEAD Grin. Blimey you were going for it surprised you could manage a post today, sounded crazy but fun.

lotions were you taking some of pred in day then, oh my I bet you were sleeping bad but saying that i look like death after one hrs sleep thurs night and still catching up. Six last night in a row....heaven and that' on 40mg all in morning.

absolutley blank stick so know outcome for monday's blood test but will have it anyway out of interest. Just really want af to come quick so can get on the Super Ov. Still no sign at all. How long does it take to come back? I have a couple of questions so will hop over to the SOV board at some point.

The friends over didn't go too bad, shes a nice lady and was probably nervouse about meeting us too. DS is such a little charmer he was all over her cuddling and snuggling up!

pq streetdance was good. DS learnt a 'Death Slide' move! he wants to go again which good. Next week they put the routine together can't wait! sorry for your BFN again. It's crap - like Sue says it's the gettin hopes up then the crushing realisation. I'm a toughie day to day but when someone spells things out well I'm a mess for day or so. Feel ok today so onwards and upwards....

free where are you going on hols - did you say St Lucia? Sounds like you would get away with a nice Tankini, me? Waynetta slob springs to mind, need some reinforcements in tummy dept, not gaping gap where everything could spill/escape from... omg the thought of it. Saying that I must seriously get some weight off. I was a good weight last time I conceived so I'm sure that helps not carrying too much. I heard once that that's one of the biggest factors against getting pregnant.

hope *Scooter is having a relaxing break.

duggs1976 · 21/01/2012 15:41

I believe quite a few were planning to . . PQ for one ?

ChoccyPud · 21/01/2012 15:11

Is anyone still planning to meet up next Saturday??

duggs1976 · 21/01/2012 15:05

Depending on Monday's results ! Hopefully I can kick off again early feb! If they have to do some surgery then I guess it will be march ! Glad u helped pebbles on her journey. A very good friend indeed. Smile

freelancegirl · 21/01/2012 15:00

Oh I've been having a bit of a lurk on the super ov thread too duggs! Great to see new people there too. Pebbles has been my best friend since I was 7. We grew up together, moved from dolls and tree climbing to boys and booze and all the drama that entails and now we both have high killer cells! I know she's lurking here too so needs to join. Or else I will chase her round the house, pin her down, block her nose and force feed her peas like I did when we were ten :)

What's time scale for Vegas then TTC again duggs?

duggs1976 · 21/01/2012 14:44

Ohh lotions I agree with free as soon as u wake up pop the pred !!Wink

duggs1976 · 21/01/2012 14:43

PQ at least now your acupuncturist who said u might not be "ready" advice you can whip that out ( no consolation I know) but you've another month to "heel" and also u know when u ov u will be BFP queen soon.

I'm getting it all in before Monday. Psychologically I know if it had been a normal month I would be in 2 WW in limbo so happy to share ridiculous stories. Will have plenty more from Vegas as is so cringe you can't but laugh. Super ov thread is getting going . . Not like this of course as we graduate here but any considerations or uncertainty pop over. Frees friend is there now too Grin

freelancegirl · 21/01/2012 11:01

Snoopy I can so identify the can't be arsed to see anyone emotion. I had the same last night. Dh and I were meant to go for drinks with the friend who got us together and I had to send them down the pub on their own whilst I curled up with the duvet. Sorry you are spending the weekend in limbo. I think we all should live vicariously through Duggs, sounds likes fab night out! Great that you are making the most of your month off. Enjoy every minute!

PQ (insert squeaky voice here) hope your enjoy the helium! And that DS has a lovely party. He's such a cutie! Gave me such a winning smile when we sat in your car the other week.

Lotions, can't believe I didn't think of mentioning that - take it all in rhe morning of course! Even when some of us take 40 we do it all together in the morning. Hope that makes the difference to your sleep.

Lotionsandpotions · 21/01/2012 09:55

Hello All, you're such a lovely bunch for making me feel welcome and not whiny :) I couldn't answer yesterday as I was literally up all night on Thursday, so once DH was awake and I'd had a bit of a cry, I went to bed and slept for a couple of hours (hurrah!) while he rung the clinic. Quite sensibly they've just said to take both my tabs in the morning and none in the evening, and that seems to have made a difference as I did manage a few hours last night. Took your various advice (thank you!), afternoon walk, husband in other room, iPod for soothing music etc and while it took a couple of hours to get off, I didn't wake until 5.30 so almost feeling normal. Then stupidly I did a test (needing some kind of 'sign') and it was a BFN so now it just feels all shit and I wish I'd sorted out the sleeping earlier and been able to rest properly. I know it's not over until it's over, and I'm a couple of days early to test (am due in Monday for a blood test) but was hoping for something faint as some kind of reward!
Anyway, fingers crossed for everyone (sorry that's not v specific, I am still learning what's going on with everyone - hope I will become as supportive as you all have been). Onwards and upwards!

PQ77 · 21/01/2012 08:48

Ah snoopy really feel for you. Hope the streetdance cheers you up or at least distracts you for a little while. I got a cv the other day with street dance in the hobbies section and had no clue what it meant. Sounds like I need to get out amongst it like duggs and live a little! what a fun night Duggs Smile

My excitement for the day is DS's birthday party - am very excited about my helium canister: going to spend the next few hours inflating balloons (once I figure out how it works...we are not a handy household so this could be interesting).

And I think the final chapter for my saga - negative FR today. So either it was a fleeting chemical or i just totally hallucinated that line. Thinking back i think the pred delayed ovulation and the cramps i had were ov pains not implantation. And since we only swi the one weekend I mucked up all the timing. at least I'll have it sorted for next month! Will wait two full days after +ve opk to start pred and then keep swi for a lot longer. So back to waiting to ovulate.

Stogan · 21/01/2012 07:23

Aw man duggs that sounds like such a good laugh, what a night I'm soooooo ready for a night like that. U have brightened my morning anyway, OH is away for the day at a meeting so the only excitement that awaits me is cleaning and ironing, living the good life... NOT !!

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend x

duggs1976 · 21/01/2012 00:08

Ok ladies . . Not a great day for people! So hopefully I'll cheer you up with my month off tales. After spending and hour at st marys trying to get the drugs I needed and a chaotic day at work. . I went to a friends 40th birthday dooo! Camden .. Drinks n nibbles- lesbian couple so half softball team there ! Lovely people so many cliches then 8pm
Move onto " English folk dance society " . . Literally a folk dance night or If Celtic background a kayleigh !! Was hilarious most fun I've had since I can remember. Felt like I was in an episode of lord of the Rings but was so much fun! Even DH turned up. One of those alternative London nights out the become so alternative it becomes trendy. I've got a flyer to go back for an Oliver twist night ! Id love to dance to Nancy and bill Sykes song. Im embarassing and rubbish but no one cares. Was envigorating x not really helpful or relevant to thread but a nice story. Made me feel a bit warm inside (said after 17 glasses of pink champagne)

snoopygirl · 20/01/2012 21:05

Thanks everyone for advice,

Will stick with drugs over weekend sue I have been googling all afternoon and shouldn't have as can't see anyone with a reading that low and feel distinctly unpregnant. I never thought I would wish to start feeling sick!

Got friend over sat who lost touch with and haven't seen for 3 yrs. he introdued me to DH and got married month before us. Been such a hassle trying to get togehter again, cant' be bothered with it all, not at mo anyway. Plus the couple we knew are now divorced and he is bringing new woman with him so going to be bit awkward. Their new brood has expanded to 5 kids as she has 3! Thank god it's just them this time.

DS is off to Streetdance class for try out in morning with his mate so that will cheer me up watching him.

Have a great weekend ladies x
