Kittens, so sorry to hear about your mum. I bet it was of great comfort to her having you there in her last days.

Just finished at my scan. Good news- wriggling away and measuring 10 weeks 2 days! Had my 'booking bloods ' done too.

Battery- good luck for your scan today.

hopefulfor2nd · 29/12/2011 03:08

Kittens, I never know what to say but thoughts are with you and we're all here for you x x x x x

freelancegirl · 29/12/2011 01:27

Just checking in quickly before bed and so so sorry to read kittens' news. If there is anything we can do please do let us know. My heart really goes out to you. Such very sad news and I realise you are facing some really tough days ahead whilst the practicalities are sorted out in france. Like I said, if there really is anything any if us can do please do let us know xxx

Arianrhod · 28/12/2011 23:44

Oh kittens I'm so very sorry, words really cannot console you at this terribly sad time. Look after you hugs. (birthday is 8th Jan to answer your question but sad tidings such as yours put birthdays into the shade right now, I think)

Comedyworks · 28/12/2011 23:35

So so sorry to hear your news kittens x

PQ77 · 28/12/2011 22:58

My sincere condolences kittens, I'm so sorry. I'm trying to resist all the clichés I've heard the last few months but they keep popping into my head. So i'll just say I'm so sad for you Sad

eurochick · 28/12/2011 22:58

iggi but you posted twice to make up for it! I am the same - I can never remember everyone I wanted to reply to when I get to reading the end of the thread!

Oh kittens I am so sorry to hear that. The rollercoaster is only to be expected. Forget about the ttc stuff for a few weeks and let yourself grieve properly.

I'm another January birthday but probably around a week after Arie and Kittens.

digitalgirl · 28/12/2011 22:56

Oh kittens Sad Sad Sad I'm so so sorry.

Blimey, there's been a bit of a post Christmas frenzy on here. Lots of news and new posters. Welcome to Cornflake, Sarlat and Carebare. Hooray for those with good scans this week.

Sad times here. My mum died yesterday evening. I'm on a bit of a rollercoaster right now. Some of the time I feel like it's not real, and then I fall into deep sadness. I'm guessing the balance will tip very much in favour of the second option before very long Sad.

We are having the funeral on 2 Jan and I will fly back the following day which was when I was due to have my scan at NLC so I will have to do that on my next cycle, as well as starting my blood tests in about 3 weeks.

Ari, my birthday is also in a week and a half. I wonder if we share a birthday.

Arianrhod · 28/12/2011 22:32

iggi can I just say that I love your Christmas nickname, makes me laugh every time I read it! And just wanted to say you're not alone in the rubbish memory retention .. I carefully read through everyone's posts, but when it's time to write mine, completely forget what everyone's said. Hence the general /waves to everyone usually!!

Can't believe it's our follow-up "plan B" meeting with Mr S next Wednesday, where has the time gone? Actually feels like I've not been pregnant at all since MC #3 in July, this last one seems to have vanished from memory. Waiting for rearrival of AF, which I'm guestimating will be around my birthday in a week and a half's time. If my body decides to play ball.

igginezerscrooge · 28/12/2011 22:12

Hello, I always feel so guilty when I look on here and see the long and thoughtful posts everyone else puts on - I tend not to have the memory retention to comment on more than the last couple of posts. Can't even blame it on pregnancy, I'm always rubbish! Anyway it is good to see good news stories and that Christmas has been survived by all. I was in Mothercare today and felt like a fraud amidst all the "real" pregnant women. Doubt that feeling will ever pass!

cornflake fantastic news! Looks like it was a late egg after all. Hope you have a relaxing time in Devon. We'll be here to hold your hand for the next scan in 2 weeks.

coley great to hear good news from you too, was lurking earlier and getting a bit anxious that you hadn't posted yet! Enjoy Lake Como - would love to go there myself!

duggs glad you got a little boost today.

sarlat great you've got the ball rolling. You'll be pleasantly surprised how quickly private clinics get back to you (compared to the waiting lists of the nhs).

euro sorry egg seems to be elusive after taking the letrazole. Hopefully it'll turn up soon and you'll get a nice fat temp rise to match.

free thanks for updating list! Am also looking forward to the day you can stop taking various pills, will be such a momentous milestone.

comedy and coconuts hooray for kicks! Am getting much stronger kicks now too. You can see my belly move when it happens. I find an active day is followed by a restful day. Or sometimes the baby turns and I get kicked in my bladder!

So it's Cheerful and Battery scans tomorrow. Good luck ladies!!!

That's excellent news, Coley.

Cheerful escaping sounds like a good idea for mind and body!

I am still to lay an egg. Mr S reckoned day 18 (my latest ever) which is today, but I don't think it has happened yet, but I guess my temperatures in the morning will tell.

Sorry for not namechecking everyone. Good evening to all!

Coconutfeet · 28/12/2011 20:49

Great news Coley and Cornflakes! Really pleased that you can both breathe a sigh of relief for a while.

Cheerful ? I would be super-cautious about the chemicals as well so I don?t blame you for escaping. A couple of days in a hotel sounds lovely anyway. Good luck for the scan.

Duggs and PQ ? Great that you had a good meet-up. I know I haven?t met any of you in real life yet, but it?s such a relief to have found you all on here.

Battery ? Good luck for your scan too.

Comedy ? It?s such a relief when you start to feel those movements isn?t it. This one is jigging about like mad now, particularly when I go to bed. I know it?ll become annoying later on when I can?t sleep but at the moment I?m really enjoying the reassurance.

Free ? I was heartily sick of the progesterone too and was so pleased when Mr S said I could stop. Funnily enough I didn?t feel anxious about that. How are you feeling today? You?re so close to the being in what Mr S refers to as the Big League. I know that once you?re past 10 weeks with a good scan he definitely starts to relax.

Sarlat - You're right, people are very knowledgeable on here. I think lots of us have found that you really need to educate yourself in order to get anywhere when it comes to fertility. I hope you get some responses from the various clinics soon and can start to move forward. Although I found the test results scary, it was good to be taken seriously for a change and actually have a plan.

Well, I?ve been busy packing for another few days away. We only got back from my parents yesterday so I?ve been rushing around getting washing done so that we can head up north to DP?s family. It?s lovely to catch up with people but I really fancy some down time at home before I head back to work.

sarlat · 28/12/2011 19:58

Evening

Cheers for making me feel so welcome and for all the advice. I have made enquiries with Sheffield CARE and New Life Centre with Dr S. Have recieved 'out of office replies' for now but it's good to know the ball is rolling. I can't believe the level of knoweldge on these threads. I thought I knew loads about fertility but it seems I have a lot to learn about the immunology sciences.

It is great to see so many success and nearing success stories on this thread too - just shows how effective this treatment can be. My feelings are if I have elevated NK cells or whatever, I can do something about it. If I don't, I have explored the issues and can move on.

Will update when I can.

freelancegirl · 28/12/2011 18:04

Hey there's some good news on here today! Just what we all need. Did they say what the other thing they saw had been Cornflake or were they just pleased that it all looked normal now?

Good news too that yours went well Coley and that you are going off to Lake Como. You can breathe sighs of relief and cool lakeside air and have a relaxing time.

And also Cheerful for the car news and impromptu break in the desert! Will it be a lovely luxury hotel with pool etc? Oh I can almost feel the sunshine on my skin... So do you go to the scan and then off to the hotel? Hope you have time to post as we will all be looking out for your news. I know exactly how you feel with the nerves. All we can do is just live through it!

Comedy and Coconut thanks for the info about tapering. Great that you are starting to feel movements comedy!. I am thinking, if Mr S is reasonably flexible with the odd day or so on the Pred, I might just stick at 25mg for say 6 days instead of 4, just to eek it out that little bit longer.

It's silly really as it probably doesn't make much difference as I am sure it is not an exact science. But yes, I took am looking forward to getting off the steroids. The other meds aren't that bad although I am a bit fed up of taking the 4 big tablets I take at dinner time - Pregnacare, Omega, Vit D and Selenium (the latter I just threw in after some Dr Googling).

For those who have used it, how is/did everyone get on with the Progesterone? I have to say I am really sick of it. I hate the, er, fall out and I am sick of the smell of it. I feel like my whole body has a waxy residue. Presuming I stay pregnant it won't be until the second week in Feb that I stop using the pessaries though. Hyroxychloroquine (for those of you who might also be taking it soon!) goes on until same time too.

Duggs and PQ glad you had a nice meet up! Yes it is such a relief to be able to chat to people who understand.

Cheerfulcharlie · 28/12/2011 17:39

Brilliant, another piece of good news and another break that can be enjoyed :-) . Well done Coley, you've passed the first hurdle of baby being in correct place and growing to date!

ColeyOz · 28/12/2011 17:31

Hi all - hope you all had a relaxing Xmas and looking forward to 2012!

I had my scan today and all looks good apparently. It measures on size at 6+1 or +2 but still too early for a heartbeat. Everything looks good inside the gestational sac. The sonographer was very positive though and said I should be rescanned in 2 weeks which I will be on 11th Jan with Mr S.

I'm off to Lake Como in Italy tomorrow so will try and spend the next few weeks relaxing!

Good luck Battery for your scan tomorrow!

Cornflakes - glad your scan went well today:)

Hi to everyone else.

Cheerfulcharlie · 28/12/2011 17:24

HI Cornflake. Glad your scan went well. What a relief. Have a good time in Devon, great that you can enjoy it with that reassurance.

Free - do you think that they take the higher dose pred people off a bit earlier because they have more in their system and it take a bit longer to clear? Also the higher dosers have the pred.

Coley - how did your scan go?

Getting nervous for my scan tomorrow morning. Have booked into a desert hotel for a couple of nights so made a bit of a minibreak out of the pesticide avoidance. Just as well i had taken tomorrow off work anyway. I'm interested to hear you guys didn't think it was over the top. I really wasn't sure and I am super cautious.

I'm getting excited about getting my hands on my new (well new as in second hand) car next week hopefully. Felt a bit weird checking it had isofix etc for child seats and having to briefly consider all child type things when buying it just in case this pregnancy actually works out but that certainly wasn't my reason for getting it. Now I am about to get a car I love, i think DH thinks his car is safe from the classifieds.

cornflakes30 · 28/12/2011 16:47

Hi guys well great news from me, I had my scan today and all is good everything is as it should be I'm measuring at 8 mm she said about 6.5 I thought I was 7.5 but I'm just going to relax now knowing its all well and bring on the next scan in two weeks. Im off to relax in devon for a few days now. Thanks for all your positive kind words have a fab new year xxxx

duggs1976 · 28/12/2011 14:49

hey everyone, back from lunch with PQ. Is like a shot of caffine or something that gives you strength. Just talking to a fellow cocooner. The pure honesty of the interest the other person has is such a refreshing feeling.

Look at you all talking about tapering free.. bloody exciting.
Will find a way to add photo of Dexter to my profile...

Hope scan went ok "coley"..?

Comedyworks · 28/12/2011 14:23

Hi all and welcome to cornflakes sarlet and carebear

Free - I tapered from 40 and although I did have some qualms about survival without medication to be honest I was just glad to get off them. I started tapering after the ten week scan as that happened to be when I saw mr S and I didn't want to do it before. As you know everything has been ok with that although I still panic most days that it isn't going to work. I think I'm starting to feel movements now though so that's very reassuring - good luck and try not to worry - cant think that staying at 25 for a while longer should be a problem though x

Hi to everyone else - hope Duggs and PQ are having a good lunch x
