Hello Ladies - hope you don't mind me joining you over here from BC. Bon chance there.

Kittens had to say how sorry I am to hear of your loss. It's a difficult time at any time but Christmas seems harder somehow. I lost my father on the 20th about 23 years ago and my mil same date but 3 years ago. My thoughts are with you.

I hope someone can offer some help. I am under mr s and have not yet tried the treatment yet but I realised that I could possibly become pg this month as bd two days ago and now ovulating so it could be possible to bcome pg. Would you start taking the pred if it was you. Sorry but wasn't anticipating this until the NY as husband travels extensively and ov'd a day earlier than I thought. I do have them all in the house but a bit nervous about starting them.

cherrycheeks · 29/12/2011 19:29

Hi ladies..

I'm back homes now after visiting various relatives over Christmas- so glad to be back in my own bed tonight!

Congratulations on all the positive scan news cornflake, battery, coley and cheerful its fantastic to hear that everything is going well for you all.

duggs thanks for the advice re false positives after the trigger shot. I'm in the 2 ww now after trigger shot on Christmas eve and ovulating on Monday. I'm not feeling too optimistic this month though- don't know why, just a bit fed up of it all I guess.

Welcome to all the new ladies!

kittens so, so sorry to hear about your Mum. I've been thinking of you and your family a lot over Christmas. I think I told you at the RL meet up that my Dad died of the same illness as your Mum- it was also near Christmas that he passed away. Sending you all big cocoon hugs, it's such a sad time for you. XXXXX

Waves to everyone else x

A bit Envy of Snoopy's golf buggy ride away, it just smacks of holiday and warmth and 'resortness', even if it makes it hard to access the internet it sounds wonderfully relaxing. Hope you're having a good time but annoying about the cycle stuff. Mile high would certainly be an interesting way to get to the BFP this time!

PQ. Yes PUPO, PUPO...

I felt a bit saddened myself hearing that your acupuncturist said you were too sad to try again at the moment PQ, you have had such a tough year of it. Am cheered that you were cheered after a meeting with Duggs. Yes the clothes/weight thing is very frustrating. I feel like I haven't really being dressing 'as myself' for a year now. I actually bought a grey jumper dress in the sale from the maternity range at H&M yesterday. It doesn't look maternity but it is nice and loose in the right places and you never know I might a) need it, but if not can always b) burn it/throw it away/hang it in the wardrobe for next time.

Acupuncturists do also say the oddest things sometimes though, I have heard about people's wombs being cold and weird stuff. Not sure how they can tell these things!

Comedy it's great to hear you have the same mentalling (although obviously for niceties sake I wish you were just confidently pregnant and didn't have to go through all this worry) and to be assured that all is still going well, despite the varying symptoms

Our pregnancies seem so bloody long don't they, being that many of us have sadly repeated them. People who know I am pregnant have said oh you can get so tired in early pregnancy you know... I can't help saying yes I know about flippin' early pregnancy thank you very much, I've been early pregnant all flippin' year! And yes I am flippin' tired.

snoopygirl · 29/12/2011 18:03

Hi All,

this will be short as it's a 10 minute golf buggy ride to get to internet place and get rid of DH/DS so I can concentrate!
Kittens I am so sorry for your loss I can't imagine how you must feel - You sound an amazing daughter and should be proud of yourself for just coping with all this. Hope 2012 brings you everything your want. x

battery congtratulations that's brilliant.
I wish I could get my BFP. Body is screwed up now: early af and have had that twice this month, spots can't keep up with AF which is mad and I can sypathise with duggs with different sets of clothes for pred fat gut or not!! Feeling old, fat and ugly with all this and sleep is a joke.
I am meant to be seeing Dr S after two failed cycles but OVing again early so am just going to start pred in next couple of days which is Cycle 3. Prob get smiley face on plane on way back to UK on sat...great....mile high maybe if was in first class but no such luck!! Can;t swing a cat in cattle class bogs...

Happy new year ladies and will catch up soon.

xx

Comedyworks · 29/12/2011 17:04

Thanks PQ - I know I should I just hate it!

PQ77 · 29/12/2011 16:35

battery we're always glad for news about heartbeats, that's great.

sarlat - Hi! Just thinking about your tests... have you had your FSH and/or AMH tested?

Endometriosis is another thing to possibly rule out - it can work to prevent implantantion and (very unusually) you can be asymptomatic. It's in the Dr Beer book so no doubt on your radar. Unfortunately I think the only way it can be definitively ruled out is via laparoscopy (I don't think an HSG will show it but happy to be told i am wrong). I have Grade III endo ( had 2x surgical removals about 7-8 years ago) and have spent a lot of depressing time reading about it. i have a good friend who has a very similar history to you who recently had an NHS laparoscopy to have a look and they found that she is riddled with it - the eggs just couldn't get down the fallopian tube as it was all twisted with scar tissue. Happily she swiftly got on to an NHS IVF programme which worked first time and is now in her third trimester. But all this could of course be completely irrelevant to you. Just thought I would mention it though.

comedy would I be the 100th person to suggest you drink cranberry juice to help prevent UTIs?

duggs great to see you yesterday. After been told by my accupuncturist that I was "too sad" to try again I think he might have changed his mind had he taken my pulses after lunch with you. Needless to say I went on to get the bath mat that I needed and the dress that I didn't from Selfridges. I consoled myself with the fact it is a wrap dress and therefore able to cope with a fluctuating prednisone/pregnant/fat body. i now have a complete wardrobe in three different sizes to cope with every occasion!

I imagine you are busy planning for the funeral kittens. i had an uncle pass away in France and i understand it is quite bureaucratic. No doubt all the people you need to sign bits of paper are on holiday. Have you got family sitting shiva with you?

Hi to everyone i have missed and welcome to newbies. good luck for scans and bfps - keep us posted. free just keep repeating PUPO...

Comedyworks · 29/12/2011 16:14

Great news on the scans - really pleased.

free I can't tell you how many hours I've spent googling 'if symptoms stop/ don't feel as strong' etc how many bruises I've caused through prodding my breasts and the number of times I've been for toilet checks and in spite of it all this little one is carrying on! I would say to stop worrying but as I am unable to follow my own advice I don't think this is fair!!

My next scan is 12th Jan. was worried on Boxing day that I just couldn't quench my thirst was drinking litres of water and so my sister dipped my urine to see if there was glucose in it as gestational diabetes is more of a worry when you have been on steroids - no glucose but have got another uti - had to get antibiotics that evening a real pain really need to stop getting them but not sure how!

Cheerfulcharlie · 29/12/2011 16:05

Battery. So pleased for you, that's v early to get a heartbeat! They must have had a really good quality machine for that.

digitalgirl · 29/12/2011 15:44

Phew battery! Fantastic news on the heartbeat!!!

Happy New Year to you all.

Stogan · 29/12/2011 13:34

Hey Digi I got a new consultant at my local hospital and he is fascinated by the condition so he wants to be as involved as poss with the pregnancy which is fab so he said he would scan me at 30 weeks and poss again at 34. I'm not complaining, the more I can see my little one the better, even better now I've finished work I can go whenever GrinGrin

freelancegirl · 29/12/2011 13:29

Battery that is such great news!!! I know it is a long journey ahead but it's all about baby steps, no terrible pun intended, and living day by day (if we get no bad signs) and scan by scan.

Digi thanks for that. Whenever I post some mentalling the subtext is that I am always hoping for you and the other 2nd trimester gang to be able to say something along those lines and help me feel it is normal!

Buster, definitely keep taking the Pred until 14 days and test again. I don't know what is normal but my bfp was very faint and on 14dpo this time. Whether it lasts or not I am and have definitely been pregnant! Honestly for those of you who repeatedly check lines are going darker it would have freaked you out it was so faint.

batteryhen · 29/12/2011 13:15

kittens How sad :( I can't imagine your sorrow just now. Like free I have lost a boyfriend and best friend in the past and I used want to shout at other people getting on with their lives that my life had changed and why didn't the world just stop... One day at a time my love xxx

Just a quick post from me too - had my scan, tiny little heart beat fluttering away. She had to do an internal as the abdo one wasn't clear enough. She had said I am measuring 6+1 but at this stage it can't be too accurate. I have a next scan on the 11th Jan at st marys. For today I am pregnant xx

digitalgirl · 29/12/2011 13:10

Great news cheerful now you can thoroughly enjoy your desert hotel mini-break.

stogan sounds like baby is giving you plenty of reassurance. Cany remember if you said before - are you checking for anything in particular with this scan or is it just a routine reassurance one?

free I had so many days where I felt completely normal. Even now I sometimes wake up in the morning and rush around doing stuff before momentarily thinking - oh I'm pregnant, shouldn't I be tired or something?

buster I'd keep taking the pred for 14 days. Lots of cases on here where ladies have stopped then tested positive afterwards.

Lurking for news from battery - hope everything's ok.

OP posts:
Buster76 · 29/12/2011 12:28

9 days free
I'll test again on 2nd if AF doesnt come before then. Not sure how accurate those 'first response' ones are? I may not of even ovulated as had no smiley faces!! xx

ChoccyPud · 29/12/2011 11:55

Kittens I am so sorry for your loss. We are here for you. Take the time you need to grieve.

hugs

freelancegirl · 29/12/2011 11:53

Hey buster! How many days have you been taking them for now? Ideally you don't want to go over 14.

Buster76 · 29/12/2011 11:18

Congratulations on all the lovely scans!!
Sad for kittens
Yeeee for all the moving/dancing little beans!
I've had two BFN, 27th and this morning. AF is due 2nd. Should I stop the pred or would you keep going till 2nd?
Was mentalling yesterday, wondering if I felt sick - poking my boobs to see if they were sensitive!!
Think it will be round 2 of the steroids next month! Sad Hey ho!

Waves to everyone! xx

freelancegirl · 29/12/2011 11:12

Coley thanks for doing the list!

Cheerful am so pleased that your scan was good! Hope you can now have a relaxing, chemical-free couple of days in the desert. When are you having another one? Let us know and we can add it to the list.

Stogan, good luck for your scan too, although by the sounds of it the baby is flung mighty fine!

I am lapsing back into the 'I don't feel pregnant enough' fear today do far. Am so worried it's all going to go wrong just as I get so close to crossing the safe or rather safer line. I have had a flurry if organisation this morning as things need to be booked. On the advice of mr s I have booked a nuchal with the fetal medicine centre this morning for thurs 12th Jan. I have also had a letter through confirming the nuchal at my local hospital (which I will probably cancel) on the 18th Jan. But all this might be futile and need cancelling subject to what happens at my next appointment with mr s on the 6th Jan! Sp it all feels a bit weird.

It also feels a bit weird going on about this stuff when kittens is going through such hell. I remember when I lost my boyfriend and best friend when I was 21 that I couldn't quite believe that life was still going on around me, people were still planning nights out, working out what they were going to have for dinner and day to day life was still carrying on despite my world having changed forever. Kittens, hope you're ok with us carrying on here and wittering about ovulation, nk cells etc etc.

No I haven't got any plans for NYE, am usually lying on a beach somewhere! I think this will be my first ever nye staying in and watching tv.

Good luck for battery and the scan.

Hope everyone else is ok, sorry if I've missed any news - am on phone xx
