pico congratulations on the BFP.

Sue here is hoping that it is a slow burning one. When will you get the HCG result?

free almost out of the first trimester of doom (you know what I mean all the anxiety etc) I feel that this baby is meant to be.

kittens hope the funeral went OK and that you are getting some TLC in real life.

Sorry have the memory of a sieve so can not name check everyone. Can not even use pregnancy as an excuse. So I will wave at everyone instead.

picolina123 · 04/01/2012 07:25

im back, took me a while to find you again. im in a bit of shock, did early response test yesterday morning and got positive, trying not to be excited as this is only the start ! feeling a bit like here we go again, but i suppose this time there is help.
started taking all the other stuff yesterday, anyone know how long cyclogest take to absorb? i went to bed early last night coz had a pounding headach and woke up with a sore throat

digitalgirl · 04/01/2012 00:04

Hello, hope it wasn't too stormy where you all are today (I have random bits of someone's bbq in my back garden). Sue how crap for you, I hope the results go the right way for you - remember every pg test itself is slightly different in its sensitivity.
I've been better today thab yesterday pain-wise though had a rough night. I did call maternity and they wanted me to come in only if it gets worse/doesnt stop - as usual I am thinking is it constipation/stretching/stress? (It's amazing what fear can do to my stomach!) I have felt tiny movements today and got a doppler hb this morning so my panic is subsiding a bit - thanks for support Thanks
Back to work tomorrow, then have taken thursday off for my scan. Who is scanning first this week?

Coconutfeet · 03/01/2012 21:33

Oh Sue, how difficult for you. When will you get the results of your blood test back? Fingers crossed it's just a slow burner.

Duggs - I feel for you, waiting this long. It must be so frustrating.

Iggi - How's the bump today? Still hurting??

Free - 11 weeks! I'm getting really excited for you. I know you need to hold back a bit until you know but am I allowed?

Well I attempted to do a pregnancy excercise dvd today and am now worn out and eating ice cream on the sofa. I haven't got it booked yet, but will be due for the GTT test myself soon. I'm looking forward to getting a bit more active and eating more healthily now that Christmas is over. My bump has really expanded over the last couple of weeks and I think quite a lot of it was mince pie related.

hopefulfor2nd · 03/01/2012 21:19

Am sooooo intrigued by your story snoopy! X

snoopygirl · 03/01/2012 20:58

free your gonna be a mummy I feel it!

Re: 30yr thing - if we ever meet (hope so) I'll tell you about it, it's embarrassing and well actually quite funny now I look back on it...turned out to be a right W*kr which is also kind of sad.
Christ, think 2 glasses down (and you can see I have serious MN withdrawal symtoms today) I had better head off for bath.

hopeful your a mere slip of a thing.......
xx

hopefulfor2nd · 03/01/2012 20:41

Hey everyone,
Sues - thinking of you, I've been in a similar situation myself. The waiting is torture, hope the blood results are through quickly. But also, don't let this, IF it happens to be a chem, knock you back xxxx
Digi - \good luck with glucose test, sure you'll be clear. With all else you have to do/take it would be goos not have to think about your diet as well.
Iggi - hows you feeling now?
As for age, I'm turning 30 in the summer. Not particularly bothered but I did think I'd have "completed" my family by 30, so it is a slight mental block BUT have also decided bugger it! It WILL happen but when mother nature and Mr S say so!! No matter if I'm 29 or 39.

Well, got my smiley face this am. And going by all your lovely advice I'm thinking to start tablets on thursday morning. Do you all think thats a good time? I'm thinking that the smiley is just an indictor it will happen in the next 24hrs so thinking by thurs am it'll all be done and so I'm not likely to delay it. Sound ok? Or should I be starting tom am?!
Waves and hugs to all xxx

suemays · 03/01/2012 18:02

Battery did your line go dark and then turn fainter though? It was quite dark on Saturday morning but was not barely detectable yesterday and even lighter today. When did you realise you were really pregnant and it was progressing? Was it after having the blood tests? How long did they take to start going darker?

I am worried that the blood test tomorrow will come back as not pregnant even though I have had all the positive first response tests. I used first morning urine on them all though so I still think I will start bleeding soon as I am sure they should have gone darker. Really feel like someone is trying to tell me to give up and forget and trying for a baby. Sorry for the moan but I all I keep doing is looking and comparing the stupid tests.

freelancegirl · 03/01/2012 17:59

Sue I was going to say the same as everyone else, remember what happened to battery with faint tests. Hopefully it will be the same for you. My one bfp this time was also barely visible but I chose not to retest as I needed to spring into action and get the intralipids. Can't scroll bsck on phone to see whether you are high nkc or v high?

Wow Digi 10 weeks until mat leave! Yea I understand how you want to wow them with your brilliance. But am site they are already aware of your brilliance too :) I bet you are super organised at work. I have to say I think I would be pretty crap at a day job right now. My brain won't function and I am so, so tired. Sorry about cough, I think dh had a point about seeing gp. Even to see if there's anything you can take to soothe it? Am a bit jealous of his wanton visit to Majestic wines.

To join in with the chat about age. I guess we all think about it to a certain extent. It's funny, these days I see a lot of posts from people on other threads who are my age or thereabouts (37 - the baby would be due on my 38th bday in July) saying they are old this time around, having had kids younger. It's odd for me as in my social circle the norm has been around 35 Ish, not younger so I haven't felt out of place. Our only now I am aware of the biological clock and, as more people start to have kids around me, the social one.

Who asked about coming off the Pred? Yes I guess it can't help wirh the tiredness, dizziness etc I am getting. I have made the executive decision how loiter at 25mg for an extra 3 days, until I have rhe scan with mr s. For various reasons those of you ahead of me in pg seem to have tapered ever so slightly later so I thought I would too. Only three days overall but it's a token gesture I guess. I am so looking forward to getting off them too.
All that talk about travel - am intrigued about the 30 year spanning holiday romance snoopy! - have and of you been lurking on that holiday booking thread? Mnetters are such travellers! I think bloody hell where does everyone get the cash from but I guess my list of holidays sounds pretty good too. Yes, best case scenario I will still be pregnant and given rhe go ahead from mr s to fly by the end of Jan. My dream would be to be pregnant and healthy and on that beach in St lucia. Right now I can't really see beyond next week, I've never entered a second trimester before so in my experience pregnancy lasts 12 weeks. To get beyond that feels literally incredible. But that's how these things are meant to work I realise!

Sorry if I've missed things, crap phone situation.

PUPO! Thanks PQ :)

batteryhen · 03/01/2012 16:18

sue Oh god, I know that awful feeling, however, don't forget my HCG was crap and barely detectable at the start, and when I went to St Marys and POAS for them - they told me I was not pg! So I know how it feels, you may just have a slow burner in there. I really hope so . Waiting is dreadful x
coley I am under St Marys as my local hospital referred me there after my last mc in June. I just saw MR S in the interim. I am glad I saw st marys as my teg test was high so I double up on the aspirin now. I am having a scan there next week - I don't know if they will take my blood again to see if I am sill a big clot or not. Frankly I will see anyone if it helps!
kittens I hope you are ok, and things went as smoothly as these things can xx
free !!!! 11 weeks! OMG how very very exciting!!
digi Yay for an outy!

Nothing to report here. I went shopping today for some new jeans and my belly wouldn't fit in any so I left in a huff. I also seem to have taken the phrase 'moonface' to a new level. Scan next week

Waves to everyone else particularly those feeling fed up and down. Waves to duggs especially xx

Arianrhod · 03/01/2012 16:15

sue So sorry to hear about your lines getting fainter ... those damn tests, they cause so much bl**dy stress! Fingers crossed that hCG tests stick two fingers up to those wretched lines!

digitalgirl · 03/01/2012 15:59

Xposted sue oh arse Sad sorry tests are getting fainter. Hope hcg results don't take too long. X

Also lurking via phone, but stuck in car while dh shops at Majestic...

Have just been to Brent Cross to look at cot mattresses then realised don't really need to get it till March. We also looked at a yummy new sofa that we're hoping to get once living room is refurbed. And some lovely eames-style dining chairs to replace our knackered ones. And a 'nest' of retro side tables. And we're also in the market for a coffee table (realise my list of designer furniture is longer than list of baby stuff to buy which consists of: mattress, sling, nappies)

Still have a hacking cough which dh keeps threatening to march me off to the gp about, but apart from suctioning all the crap in my lungs out I don't know what else they can do. Vaguely worried that I'll give myself an abdominal hernia with all the coughing - belly button has already flattened out and the top part is verging on being an outy (this did not happen last time). Despite having done eff all this Xmas and being a little bored I don't really want to go back to work. I have 10 weeks of work before going on mat leave. Nevertheless I need to leave on a high so they miss me when I'm gone and send me loads of work that I can do from home (or how else will we be able to afford my long list of designer furniture?).

In other news, dsis is having ds on Thursday so we can go on a day date for his birthday. Thinking Tate Modern, a lovely lunch and then maybe cinema?

free 11 weeks!!! Am hyperventilating with excitement for you. I think I'm looking forward to your scan on Friday more than you are (only because I feel so much that it will be good news)

iggi you have a scan on Thursday right?

Then I think we have loads of pred thread scans next week. I have my Glucose Tolerance Test next Tuesday. I have eaten so much High GI foods since getting pg that I won't be surprised if it comes back too high. In one way it'll force me to eat healthily for the rest of the pregnancy - but I'd rather not be worrying about having too big a baby and ending up diabetic for the rest of my life.

snoopy I heart Daniel Craig too (but only as Bond). I actually hated Eva wasserface at the time for getting to snog him.

kittens thinking of you.

OP posts:
snoopygirl · 03/01/2012 15:34

Oh shitsue hope it gets darker and as cheerful says it was dilute urine possibly.

snoopygirl · 03/01/2012 15:31

free no I didn't do that sorry. if somone else doesn't I'll do it later. Are you feeling any more normal reducing pred yet? Good luck for the scan. Aren't you off to St Lucia at end of month? Heaven -can I squeeze in case pls? I 'll have to put that on travel list. Already got the holiday brochure out for a little trip to Brittany at half term, discovered Concarneau last yr and I loved it. Always have a good laugh trying my schoolgirl french out.. which is linited as the French Exchange was taken up by snogging an older boy and having a mini romance (theres a whole thread to that one which carried on another 30yrs on and off!)
PQ sorry you've got meetings and you can't indulge much - Just trying to amuse son, despite him having all these presents! He's skulking around like a moody teenager with headphones/ipod on and he's not even 6 yet!
ari I am not personally bothered too much about age - think I look ok (well apart from hideous fat hol pictures I've just downloaded). It's not a good thing to admit but I spose I care too much about what other people think - the school gates can be a gossipy bitchy place. You can virtual slap me if you like for having such thoughts!
x

Cheerfulcharlie · 03/01/2012 15:24

Oh Sue sorry to hear about the line getting fainter. This is probably a dumb question to ask but were you using first morning urine ? Could it have been that your urine was more dilute?
When do you get the blood hcg back? Hope there's not too much waiting.

ChoccyPud · 03/01/2012 15:23

Sue crossed posts. That's crap I'm sorry to hear that. Been there. But the hcg tests will tell you what you need to know so it's a question of waiting for those numbers and going from there.

ChoccyPud · 03/01/2012 15:21

Lurking too for a break from the shock of being back at work. Nothing interesting to say either tho tbh as am in limbo at the mo on the ttc thing. Maybe more constructive comments from me after the 14th!

Good luck for all scans this week.

Happy birthday when it comes Ari. You're only as old as you feel :)

suemays · 03/01/2012 15:18

Fed up today as have just come back from NLC after having an hcg test. I think this pregnancy is going to be a chemical as the last 2 preg tests i have done hardly show a line now. They are getting lighter every day so i am waiting for the inevitable to happen now. So much for a fresh start in 2012! I get the results tomorrow and if it shows there is still a pregnancy i will go back for another hcg on thurs to see if it has increased. I am not holding out much hope though.

Arianrhod · 03/01/2012 14:55

Also lurking as nothing interesting to say, but definitely here :) And ha! snoopy you're a mere spring chicken (coming from the old lady who's 44 in - gulp - 5 days time). It's funny, I've never cared less about my age, and still don't except for the effect it has on my reproductive ability now. I honestly don't care what the numbers say, I certainly don't feel 44 (whatever being 44 feels like) .. but of course, my eggs may feel differently!

PQ77 · 03/01/2012 14:54

hello snoopy - am just in a work induced coma! Lovely to hear your holiday tales, and I love DC too.

iggi you ok? Have you managed to get the baby to move for you? My DS didn't move at all - just like carring a 6llb bowling ball for months- such a pain.

duggs - glad you're going for the look around. One thing to cross off the worry list when it comes back fine.

free PUPO!

dashing to meeting - back later!

freelancegirl · 03/01/2012 14:30

Am lurking! Just hard to post as my laptop broken and just on iPhone. Got nothing interesting to say either! Thank for updating list. Did you move everyone forward by two days too? Last time it was updated was Sunday do everyone on the bfp list needs moving forward 2 days if not. I can't believe if it's all alive in there I would actually be 11 weeks today based on LMP. If it's alive of course... Does anyone else have scans this week? Theoretically I might also have intralipids again on Friday, again based on it being alive of course.

Iggi hope you are feeling ok now, do you think you were having Braxton Hicks?

Hope everyone else is ok, kittens hope all went as well as it could.

Snoopy glad you are settling back in, it's always weird adjusting after a holiday. So jealous it was very warm and sunny.

Normal service unlikely to be resumed from me for a few days. I can work from my desktop mac when back in London tonight but am not signed in on there as yet and prefer to keep my mnetting private from dh! Still need to figure out how to get data off so can fix the laptop.
