hi - next time we do the list can someone please move me up to waiting to test? I had +ve OPK result on Friday night.

free as a treat after your NT scan you could get Clarins Body Treatment Oil - pricey but smells amazing and I think I wonder for stretch marks, there are lots of rave reviews online. I didn't get any stretc marks at all with DS and I am very prone to them (puberty certainly left its mark). But perhaps that was because he was a month early so I never properly had the chance to stretch! will be thinking of you and cheerful coming up to your NT scans.

eurochick · 10/01/2012 10:54

I too am absolutely sick of being at the ttc stage! I can't quite believe that I am 36 next week and the only BFPs I have ever seen are pictures on the internet. And that's after more than a year of trying properly and two years before that of half-heartedly using rhythm/withdrawal as "contraception". I do occasionally wonder if it will ever happen for me.

Congrats to free on reaching the 12 week mark. And it's wonderful that digi will soon be joining stogan on the third trimester list.

I'm a week into taking Pred now and not feeling too bad on it. My sleep is a little more restless than usual, but the insomnia seems to have settled down a bit. I really hope it helps.

freelancegirl · 10/01/2012 09:18

Hi all,

Duggs hoping you are feeling better today. I think you are bound to have low days. It's understandable with everything you are going through. It's something we can all relate to, unfortunately, but it also means we are here for a big virtual shoulder. Good luck at St M! Let us know how it goes. As for the question about getting pregnant for Mr S I will definitely try to remember to include it. It might be good to ask about super ovulation too. I wonder if actually having had the miscarriages makes it harder to conceive afterwards as I think some of us have found it easier to conceive before mc then harder afterwards. It must be very frustrating to be hit with both difficulties ttc and also then the fear of mc. I know I got pregnant easily every time I tried and for that I am grateful but the worry is that if I mc again TTC will start becoming a problem too.

Lemon sounds like you are feeling similar. I know exactly what you mean about the social life thing. We still have a few friends without children who we tend to hang around with just as they are the ones arranging nights out etc but I feel like I am in limbo. Tbh the life the others have with their kids has never completely appealed to me either but I know it is different when once you are doing things with your own kids!

Wow Digi soon to be in the 3rd trimester! Woo! This sounds about the right time for you to start feeling tired again unfortunately. Don't they say that the 2nd is the one when you have the energy and feel pretty good? Working must be a real struggle. I am finding working from home a real struggle and I really, really need to be going out and getting more work now. I also have scores of time consuming yet urgent work to be doing like tax returns etc which I am just ignoring. Really need to concentrate and get down to it.

I think Cheerful has a point about the 2nd trimester being over 13 weeks. I know there is some dispute about it. I definitely won't be moving anywhere until after the nuchal and its results. I too am rather scared about mine cheerful. My blood test is at midday and scan is at 2.30pm I think so yours will be over and done with well before mine. Do you know whether you get the results that day? Glad you are not having the same person as last time!

Oh by my LMP I am 12 weeks today.

I have been having a feel for my uterus (as you do...) actually and don't think I can feel anything yet. My belly has definitely popped though. I weighed myself yesterday and I have put on around 5 lbs since weighed pre-pregnancy. But the weight I started at was a stone heavier than this time last year!! I was pretty thin at that point I guess. My skin has started to feel a bit tight around my belly but I haven't started to put any cream on or anything. I know it is silly but half of me thinks - why bother. For the first pregnancy of the year I religiously put bio oil on every night until it ended. It the nuchal goes well on Thursday I guess I might start using some anti-stretch mark cream. I can't face the smell of bio oil this time I don't think.

Still waiting for news from Cornflakes. I hope no news is good news and that it all went ok. Did you go for a scan?

Waves to everyone else. Please can someone find a way for me to get my arse into gear and actually do some work. Oh and secondly, actually find some more work!

duggs1976 · 10/01/2012 07:50

Ahh digi it is god to hear those words! I know it is not logical. Only been trying for 4 cycles. It is just those 4 on top of the 2 yrs before etc blaaa! It is good to hear of u ladies and your progress. I'm off for my st m follow up this morning so I think I will see rai. I shall ask about ttc timings. I know what I will hear. Thanks ladies - coconut and ari. And snoopy how is breezy? on a beach!

lemonsherbet · 10/01/2012 07:38

free good luck with the scan.

cornflakes how are you? Did you get an EPAU scan.

duggs like you I am fed up of being in the TTC stage, I want to be holding a living baby stage. I feel that the past 2 years have been TTC and then miscarrying, then repeating the cycle. Then imposing things like I want to be pregnant before X event and even if it happens then it all going wrong. Some of our friends have had 2 children in the time it has been taking us to even try and fail to have 1. Feel that it is harder to do things with them since we are now the only couple in my husbands close circle of friends that do not have children. So life has recently become baby showers/new baby/christenings/ birthday parties. Does that make sense. Sorry that was a bit of a me post there.

I can not remember who said that they felt lucky to have met all of you ladies but I agree.

cornflakes I hope things have calmed down and your scan brings some reassurance. I imagine you are pretty stressed at the moment but we're here for support.

duggs I have no idea why some of us conceive easily and some have such a tough time. I assume some of it may not be down to nk cells but other factors in some cases?

coconut fascinated to hear about your scan and good to hear you get another few goes of it too. Just out of interest, if they had found growth restriction would they have been able to do / give you something to help with it do you know?

digi isn't the end of 1st trimester 13wks 6 days? Or maybe 13 weeks? Hope the gtt is not too bad tomorrow. I would take something in your bag to eat immediately afterwards. I felt very shaky after mine and almost blacked out driving back to work.

I changed my scan date. Having the NT on Thursday now. Had a huge freak out about this scan the other morning just as my neighbour was about to ring the door to give me a lift to work. Very embarrassing and bad timing as have only had a few sobbings so far.

Can't believe it's 2 days to the scan. I cannot stop thinking about it but keep telling myself to try and enjoy the days beforehand because if it's bad news it's going to be tough and miserable for quite a while.

free Can you feel you uterus above your pubic bone yet (supposed to feel like a firm ridge)? I'm pretty sure I can't feel mine yet and wondering if it's too early but thought it was supposed to move above the p bone at 11 weeks. What time is your scan on thurs? Mine is midday (8am Uk time).

digitalgirl · 09/01/2012 23:33

Right, hopefully not missed anyone.
duggs I moved you to WTTC as you said you were going to wait it out this cycle...but feel free to move yourself back if you have a change of heart!

coconut pleased to hear scan went well, sounds like an amazing thing to see. Did you get a DVD of it or pictures to show DH? We've not really talked about names either, I think we're both waiting to be inspired!

duggs I know I'm probably the last person you want sympathising with you. But I do. When TTC the first time round it took us 6 months to get a BFP - which in the grand scheme of things isn't long. But that was 4 cycles of not really knowing what was going on and thinking AF was late everytime and taking tests every week because I hadn't a clue about when I was due. So it seemed far far longer. In all that while I kept coming across people who had got lucky first time. They'd never known the heartbreak of a miscarriage or even a bfn. This time round we've been ttc for 2 years. So there have been people get their bfp when I got my first one after ds - have had the baby and are now pregnant again. Just doesn't make sense that they can so easily have their family exactly how they plan it and there's us lot who try and try and try. But I'm a big believer in planning with back up plans, taking control and making it feel like we're not completely at the mercy of the ttc gods. So I think however you're feeling right now, you're dealing with it in a very very good way.

free Fingers crossed for your nuchal this week. It's a major hurdle - but once you're over it, you will feel incredibly relieved (for a bit). Am I right in thinking you are officially second trimester tomorrow? Do you want to wait till you've had your nuchal before moving up the list?
I officially enter the third trimester next week! Can't bloody believe how quickly it's come around. Was thinking last night, wouldn't it be nice to stay 26 weeks pregnant for a while!

cheerful do you have a scan tomorrow and is it your nuchal? Good luck if you do!

snoopy good luck on weds with Mr S and the superov chat. Lets hope by having the chat and getting the prescription written out you can invoke the Law of Sod and get your bfp this cycle!

First day back at work today and I'm finding sitting at my desk to be really uncomfortable. For this first time my journey in this morning was genuinely tiring - even though I get a lift to the tube station and have no line changes. God knows how I'll be in 10 weeks time!
Tomorrow I have the Glucose Tolerance Test (bleurgh), so will be popping into the MW office to try and get my MatB1 form and also the referral for physio that the doctor was supposed to do 11 weeks ago Angry.
I have my chat with HR this Wednesday - MatB1 form permitting. So will hopefully find out what I'm entitled to while on Maternity Leave.

So hungry - and not allowed to eat till after the third blood test tomorrow. Might update the list while I sat here waiting for my bloody iPhone to update.

Ahh thanks ladies! So weird as I was having a good weekend being positive. Yes we have our meet up Grin good news on the fancy scan and all being ok.

Arianrhod · 09/01/2012 21:10

duggs just wanted to send you a virtual hug. This journey really is crappy, I couldn't agree more, and there have been (still are) many times when I've thought exactly what you said .. plus "oh feck it all, I've bloody well had ENOUGH! of this". But one thing I really admire about you (and resonates very well for me, being an obsessive about organisation myself) is your ability to plan ahead. As in, you have Plan A, if that doesn't work Plan B, if THAT doesn't work then Plan C, D and E. I don't think Plan F(eck it all) is in your arsenal just yet my dear! :) Hang in there girl, the fighting spirit will return yet.

coconut what a brilliant scan! I do hope if I ever get to that stage that Mr S will decide due to my advancing years I need one of those too, they sound marvellous! Congratulations to you :)

snoopy I've decided that all wee tests should be banned, as they cause more anxiety than they help. In future we shall have internal cameras and home blood tests, so we can know at any given point in our cycles/pregnancies exactly what is going on, without the need for interpretation by trained medical staff or resorting to Sherlock Holmes techniques.

/waves to everybody

snoopygirl · 09/01/2012 20:47

Oh PQ that's funny - was going to add about light obsession but in danger of sounding like a loon.............yes halogen spots/natural daylight/close up/far away...... F U bas*ard... stick in the BIN!!
Sorry just needed a vent there!

lemon yes with you there too!

Coconut Your scan sounds fabulous, what a lovely day for you. Shame about hubby missing out but before long that little one will be in his arms woo hoo!

Hi free hope you 1st trim is coming to a end nicely.

Just wanted to say you are a lovely bunch of ladies on here. I just happened to read some other threads on (non conception) boards and Jeez there are some real insensitive bitches on here. Especially when were meant to be sisters and all that and just after a bit of advice/support. Thank God for you lot. x

PQ77 · 09/01/2012 20:32

snoopy a magnifying glass is a great idea - hadn't though of that, usually stick the thing out the window to get some natural light! And then build up a compare and contrast collection...

PQ77 · 09/01/2012 20:28

Oh duggs for starters don't feel you have to pull yourself together on our account. Just a couple more weeks till fanny cam (as I saw it described elsewhere - don't know if that description appeals...) then when we meet for lunch at the end of the month we can work through your plan of attack - which has a lot more steps. I think you are a long way off admitting defeat just yet but I can imagine that things feel incredibly gloomy for you now and I'm not trying to belittle that.

Is think a lot of us feel that our relationship has been taken over/dominated by this ttc lark. Is there something fun you can plan for the next couple weeks that you simply cannot do while pregnant or with children? (I can pm you a long list!)

Great to see you today free - said treats have now all gone. Dinner of broccoli, asparagus and beetroot was just too healthy so went for treat top up Grin

Awesome scan coconut

Thinking of you today kittens x

Hi to everyone else

Coconutfeet · 09/01/2012 19:52

Sorry to hear that things are so hard Duggs and Snoopy. I can totally relate to that feeling of just being so tired of the whole ttc thing. It's just so all-consuming and completely wears you down in a way that I don't think I would have been able to imagine if I hadn't experienced it myself. I really hope it's your turn soon.

Happy birthday to Kittens!

Well I had my uterine atery doppler scan and it was amazing! They've got new scanning equipment at the hospital, so new that there were 2 people in the room showing the sonographer how to use it and the clarity of the picture was unbelievable. I hadn't expected them to spend much time looking at the baby as I'd been told it was all about looking at the arteries around the uterus but, as well as doing all that, she treated it almost as another anomoly scan. I asked again about the cleft palate and she was able to show me the baby's face which was so clear it was almost like one of those 3D scans! I could see his nostrils and lips and everything so clearly. Normally I'm completely clueless as to what's what when I have a scan, so this was a revelation. The gutting thing was that I'd told dp not to bother coming as I didn't think it's be very interesting for him. Anyway, I think it's finally sunk in that there's actually a real baby in there. Dp and I have been steadfastly avoiding any realy conversation about names or anything but maybe we can actually start to think about that now...

Anyway, the upshot of it all is that I'm not showing any signs of growth restriction or pre-eclampsia but that doesn't mean that I definitely won't get high blood pressure or anything later on, so they're advising 3 additional growth scans given my history and age (gah!). I have to wait to see the consultant before I know what they're going to recommend about stopping/continuing the clexane.

Sorry about the me, me, me post. I hope everyone else is doing OK?!

lemonsherbet · 09/01/2012 19:51

snoopy that is not pathetic I do that all the time! (think maybe I should hide now). I also do really sad things like think it is 2 dpo do you think I should POAS and then argue with myself why it is not a good idea. I am thinking we should have a POAS 12 step plan like the AA.

snoopygirl · 09/01/2012 18:57

I even had the Sherlock Holmes magnifier on preg stick today looking for non existent double lines......how pathetic is that.

snoopygirl · 09/01/2012 18:55

Oh duggs I know what you mean and feel exactly the same way about wishing life away and I have just got too much I want to do/experience to keep counting the years away doing this...but it is much easier for me to say that as I already have a child.
I can't find the google link to see exactly what your issues were but there is still plenty of time for you to get some answers. I really hope the Hystercocopy thingy helps unravel something.
I'm seeing Dr S wed for Sup Ov discussion. In meantime I'm testing this week although cos I didn't have the digital smiley sticks havent' really a clue when 10dpo is! And yes faint bloody lines are rubbish!
I am a pretty optimistic/cheery person generally but it's hits me just as hard when I mc. That is why when I am told what was there at EP scans I can't remember what prob was most of time as I just am a sobbing mess/shown back door and forget whether it was a blighted ovum/ stopped hb whatever as immediatly just block the whole thing out and pull myself together to carry on once more.
DS is 6 tomorrow and a BFP would be the best present he ever got...

duggs1976 · 09/01/2012 18:07

Hey free hope you and PQ had a lovely time. Sounds like it. I'm supposed to be "out" this month waiting for my hystersocopy on 23 jan but just picked up the smiley face clear blue ov sticks. [never used those before seem better than a faint line. I hate faint lines all lines tbh].

Some thoughts to add to your dr s list of questions. Why are some people here obviously conceiving so so easily with unfussy wombs and some can't get pregnant for love nor money? ( it is a bit like asking why do some people like red wine and some White) there is probably no definitive answer I know. But with nk cells surely they either attack v early ( no pg) or later after hcg shows. Looking at our list now the majority of people have had a bfp since being on dr s programme - although not all have managed to keep the pregnancy and are starting over. But some can't seem to get a bfp and I keep wondering why not?

Just babbling. These last few days I an starting to accept I probably will experience not holding my own baby and I am trying to justify that as just life abs there r many worse things to go through. I've not really felt this way before but I am starting to now as I'm so tired after 2 years ! I met DH 4 yrs ago today . . and 2 of those years have been ttc. How sad is that?! We need to get a life and it is slowly dawning on me.

I sound morbid, so I must pull myself together. I hope this week Flies past for everyone. Wishing time away that is what this journey is about. Sad

freelancegirl · 09/01/2012 16:34

Hi all, finally got my laptop back and working although been sat here for hours now trying to transfer my backed up files to no avail. Will get there eventually!

Now I am here it is very quiet... I hope quiet means good and everyone is just getting on with their lives rather than feeling miserable about ttc/pregnancy etc etc. I was lurking for a while hoping that someone would post to distract me, but maybe no news is good news!

PQ and I met up earlier, which was fab! She made me tea and fed me some nice treats :) Both of us are happy to do a South East evening one day at a suitable 'after work' time for those of you who are local too. We can talk some dates!

Digi, it sounds like you organised a super star weekend for DH's bday well done! Glad you and your mum are on good terms again. You must be tired though. In the scheme of things it's not soooo long until you finish work I guess. When will you be gracing the dizzy heights of the third trimester section on the list? Can't be long surely?

Coconut that scan sounds really interesting. I can't wait to hear all about it. I think it is especially interesting to all of us as, once we have got passed the difficulties of ttc, potential early, mc, nuchals etc, I am sure we will all be a bit paranoid about what else can happen. So that scan sounds really intriguing. Good luck with your scan too Comedy.

Kittens I hope your birthday has gone as well as expected in the circumstances.

No news from me apart from starting to really worry about this nuchal on Thursday, and before that on Weds I have an appt with my GP to try to persuade her that it is ok to refer me to Epsom rather than any local hospital. Am hoping Mr S was right and that this is indeed something she can do. I am sure he is right, it is just will she know about it! But I guess I need to get over the potential hurdles that the dodgy nuchal results might throw in my direction first.

Hope everyone is ok!

Havingkittens · 09/01/2012 12:26
