HopingSoon · 23/04/2012 17:43

Hi Ladies, hope your all ok.
I only posted once a month or so ago but always check on the thread see how everyone is getting on.
Sorry to hear your news Ratata, hope your doing ok.
Just finished my third month on clomid and no joy for me, so made a drs appointment for Monday. Hoping that the dr will refer us to a fertility clinic like he said he would when we see him 3 months ago. I'm feeling very low today, really thought the clomid would do the job but once again a disappointing month. Think I'll treat myself to a G&T tonight to commiserate!

CaveMum · 23/04/2012 16:05

We seem to go in fits and starts - multiple posts some says, and none on others.
We've also had a few members graduate recently, so our numbers are down a bit!

freerangelady · 23/04/2012 15:44

Thanks Cavemum.

It's a bit quiet on here - is it always like this?

CaveMum · 22/04/2012 20:03

Welcome Freerange Grin

freerangelady · 22/04/2012 18:45

Hi Ladies,

I wonder if I can join you on here. Been trying to conveive #1 since I came off the pill in Nov 11. I've been using the CBFM and I'm 31.

Cycles seem to be pretty regular at 27-28 and CBFM has shown a peak every month around day 11 - 14 days but no joy yet. Due this week and this month I've been on antibiotics so on the advice of the doctor didn't try. Just want it to hurry up and come so we can get on with next month!

Looking forwards to getting you know you.

Freerange

CaveMum · 22/04/2012 16:42

Ratata I'm so sorry to hear about your mc [hugs]

Ratata · 21/04/2012 15:52

Hi again all. I'm unfortunately returning to the thread. Not that I mind talking to you guys, it's nice to see what you are all up to. I'm currently going through a natural miscarriage this weekend, was a missed miscarriage. We went for a private scan when we thought I would be 9 weeks, I measured 5 and then had it confirmed this week and now I'm bleeding. Devastated but trying to push on through it.

Will catch up with everyone soon xxx

Flickstar · 20/04/2012 13:05

Hmmmm bodies are a funny thing aren't they?! Regardless of the temping, the good news is that you have ovulated when you didn't think you had! I think a test over the weekend would at least settle your mind and let you know where you stand a bit more so your mind is not racing! Have been quite consistent with your SWI despite not knowing about your ovulation?

The little chap is well thanks- not quite so little though! Had a scan yesterday to measure his growth and he is 3lbs 2oz already with still 12 weeks to go so hee is rather on the chunky side!

Fingers crossed for you!

CaveMum · 20/04/2012 12:18

Lovely to see you Flick Grin How is the small chap?!

The thing that has thrown me is that temping has worked for me all through my Clomid cycles so far, so I'm not sure what has gone on this time!

I probably will cave do a test over the weekend and see what happens from here on out.

Flickstar · 20/04/2012 11:32

Hello cave just saw this in most active and popped on to see what was going on! I have heard from lots of people including HH that CBFMs, OPKS and temping and are not accurate when using Clomid. If I was you I would do a test tomorrow morning just to see where the land lies and then if you get a BFN hold out another 5 or so days to see. Sods law that this will be the month Grin

CaveMum · 20/04/2012 11:24

Ok, I'm very very confused. I have not had any positive OPKs, the CBFM did not give me any peak readings and I have not seen a shift in my temperature. However, I've just got my blood test results back from the clinic which say I have ovulated Confused

I am now in limbo as I have no idea when ov happened, no idea if we dtd at the right time and no idea if I am at the start/middle or end of TWW! Aarrgghhh!

mrsmellow · 19/04/2012 12:12

thanks josie I wrote but didn't send a couple of ranting emails to my friends - made me feel a bit better! sometimes just getting it down on paper and getting the self-pity out really helps! and having support on the t'internet... Grin Good stuff out of your DH! Fingers crossed and

JosieSmith1 · 19/04/2012 08:46

Welcome Lulabells So sorry to hear about your dad

Sorry you?re feeling down MrsMellow I have been there on numerous occasions and it sucks. Send me a PM if you need a rant Smile and I hope you feel better soon. If there?s one thing I?ve learned through all this, is that no matter how bad you feel, at some point you will feel better. I?ve been at my absolute rock bottom over the past year and look at me now ? gearing up for my second IVF and really excited! Smile Who would have thought that being told I can have a second cycle would make me feel so positive Confused

Poor Evil are you feeling any better yet? I second MrsMellow antihistamines just don?t do the trick! Good luck at your appointments

AFM, got my referral off the GP yesterday. He was reluctant at first but DH gently persuaded him. My confidence has taken a little dive due to the BFN but my expression at DH must have just said ?persuade him!? so he did Grin So now all I can do is wait for an appt!

mrsmellow · 18/04/2012 15:51

evil that sounds scary, anti-histamines are shit - I've been taking several times the normal dose for weeks because of urticaria and they leave you drained. Fingers crossed it was a once off. When is your infertility clinic? hope it goes well.

evilgiraffe · 18/04/2012 09:36

Josie - I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the new clinic for you. It's mind-boggling, really, the number of things that can be done, so well done for finding somewhere to try something new!

Hello Lula - I can only echo Cave's thoughts and say how sorry I am for your loss, and hope that your stay here is a short one!

MrsMellow - I feel your pain. It's CD2 for me today and I'm feeling pretty crappy. Three friends gave birth over the weekend, one announced the birth of her son (we'd lost contact so didn't even know she was pregnant!), and another one announced a pregnancy last weekend. I'm happy for them all, but so desperately jealous at the same time.

To add to my woes, my previously-robust health has taken a hit, and I had a major allergic reaction to something (I have no idea what) over the Easter weekend. Turning blue is not to be reccommended! Now I'm taking crazy amounts of antihistamines and feeling dreadful (am barely functional at work). The next couple of weeks see me in the hospital twice - once for our infertility appointment, and once for the allergy clinic! Hopefully we'll be able to find out what's going on allergy-wise, and it'll not have too much of an impact on TTC...

mrsmellow · 17/04/2012 21:49

Hi all
Josie sorry to hear about BFN, but am very impressed that you're so positive and pleased that you've found a new clinic with new options, sounds promising!
cave who knows about ovulation, remind me - temps or OPK's? neither are very accurate from what I know?
Welcome lula
I'm CD1 and it all feels very pointless, I feel like I've almost given up hope really. Which is silly, but there you go. I'm now angry at my many super-fertile friends, every week there's another person pregnant within minutes. So jealous Envy I'm just fed up.

CaveMum · 17/04/2012 21:00

Welcome Lulabells, come on in and make yourself at home!

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss, and your reasons behind TTC are totally understandable.

Ask lots of questions and hopefully you'll have a nice short stay Wink

Lulabells · 17/04/2012 20:13

Hello to everyone. I'm new to all this and trying to learn the language so sorry if I write things in full! I am 24 and me and my bloke are going to start trying for our first bambino! My dad died unexpectedly 6 weeks ago and it has made me realise life is too short and that the timing may never in fact be right and to just go for it!

CaveMum · 17/04/2012 17:15

That is good news, well done for making the call and fingers crossed they can get you into the system quickly.

No news here, CD29 and still no ovulation Sad

JosieSmith1 · 17/04/2012 14:08

Right, I've phoned the other clinic and I'm going to my GP tomorrow to get a referral! They do short protocol and they give a higher dose of the stims so I'm hoping to get an appt soon and try a different protocol. The only bad news is that their donor waiting list is based on people supplying their own donors so if it does come to using a donor I'll still have a long long wait on my hands. But if I can try short protocol I'll do it!! I'm feeling so much more cautiously optimistic now! That's great news!

JosieSmith1 · 16/04/2012 18:10

Erm, I've just been on the website for the other clinic, and they say they offer a personalised service, so might change my meds, and that their egg donor waiting time is approx 8 weeks!! I can wait 8 weeks!! But if they can try different meds it'll be fantastic news. I'll actually be quite sad to leave some of the nurses at my clinic but I'll do whatever it takes. SO I'm going to ring them off the hook tomorrow. I'm a bit excited now. I know a lot hinges on what they can and can't do for me and I might be getting ahead of myself, but if I can be excited for a change then I will be Grin

JosieSmith1 · 16/04/2012 17:49

Feeling a bit sorry for myself as my friend has posted a pic of her 31 week bump on fb. I'm so jealous it hurts. I suppose I'm more sensitive at the moment. But I'm keeping busy until I start to feel better (got DH building me a pond!) If I can cling on to the fact that even if it doesn't work, I can adopt (which isn't something I'm ready for yet, but if the time comes, it would be amazing) so one way or another, one day I will enjoy taking my children out and spoiling them etc, one day.

CaveMum · 15/04/2012 16:53

Thanks Josie, to be honest if it had been anyone else I'd have gone to pieces! However, as she has been TTC almost as long as we have, and in that time has suffered a MC and lost her mum to cancer aged just 57, I honestly couldn't be happier. As I said we cried together and she was so concerned about how I felt about it all. She also said she'd be asking DH and I to be godparents Grin

How are you feeling today?

JosieSmith1 · 15/04/2012 16:13

Cave it's so good that you can cope with your friend being pg. When my best friend got pg I was in a very bad place (and it had taken her 2 months) and as a consequence we've fallen out and no longer speak. I'm hoping if I ever get pg we'll rekindle our friendship, but for now I can't cope with her as she complains constantly about how hard her life is going to be with a baby, it's not what I need right now, so it's really good that you can still have her support, and she yours

CaveMum · 15/04/2012 09:28

So sorry to hear that Josie (((hugs))) for you.

I've still not ovulated (CD 27) and yesterday my best friend told me she is pregnant. I am very very happy for her, she's been trying almost as long as we have and is 5 years older than me. She's already 14 weeks and had been holding off telling me till she absolutely had to as she was hoping I'd be pregnant too. Naturally I've been a bit upset, we cried together then I cried again on DH after she left but in a way it feels like she's given me a bit of extra hope and motivation, if that makes sense.

Anyway, hope you're all enjoying your weekends.
