New thread..... let's get going!!

nearly spot anymore maybe symptoms? I have been paying attention, but nothing here. Ertd due in 6 days now.

Also discovered that poas tests are much cheaper here in australia than they are at home in canada. $9 for 3 tests vs $15 for one! Now I have 6 sitting in my luggage. Going to leave them behind for our weekend trip, cause it's going to be tempting!

NearlyDunne · 05/01/2012 23:34

Hi mercredi welcome
josie im glad things are a little better now and i hope the weekend makes you a little closer.

JosieSmith1 · 05/01/2012 21:16

Hi everyone, thanks for the support, it really helps, and good advice in there too. I feel like we're a bit closer now, we've cleared the air a bit. I'm very difficult to live with so he's doing really well to put up with me (I even got sick of my own voice complaining this morning so god knows how he copes with me!) Looking forward to this weekend away, and AF is due so no pressure for a dirty weekend and then we're off together next week so can have some fun. I'm visiting a friend next week aswell, and maybe her daughter, who really reminds me what it's all about, and although I'm scared of my neices and nephews (something to do with the rest of the family judging how I am with them) I'm not scared of my friend's little girl because I don't feel like anyone is watching how I am around her so I can play and have fun, which I never get to do, so could be some good therapy.

Thanks Raspberry, I'll PM you

Welceom Mercredi

Oh, and I'm 27, DH 26, married 3 years!

Mercredi · 05/01/2012 20:56

Hi, hope it's okay if I join in! I'm new to MN but have been lurking for awhile...

Our situation is that we originally started TTC in November 2009 and I was charting obsessed for about 6 months, with no luck. I then had a bad relapse of a chronic illness so we stopped TTC for the remainder of 2010 and all of 2011 while I got back on my feet with my health- it's a long term condition so it's still an issue, but I've improved enough that we felt we could give TTC another go. So it's technically cycle 1 for me on this go-around, but it's not really, if that makes sense.

I'm either just about to or have just ovulated so we've been pretty busy this week! This month was pretty casual but think I will break out the OPKs next month if nothing happens. On the down side I have a bad cold...which put a bit of a damper on the whole 'yay I'm ovulating!' thing. :P

raspberrytipple · 05/01/2012 19:12

Hi girls! I was all ready to kick myself up the arse but have had a bit of a stressful day. I've just started a thread in General Health which will explain it a bit more..
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/general_health/1376956-Anyone-had-ovarian-cancer

Bit stressed out by it all - feel free to comment but I didn't want to re-write it all!

Josie I'm sorry to hear you and DP are struggling a bit. It is a stressful process and I don't think men will ever understand. I very often have to consciously back off with DH and remind myself that it is not all about having a baby, I want his baby so if I scare him off then it kind of defeats the object. I read quite a good article the other day about maintaining a healthy relationship and one of the things they suggested doing was reminiscing about the days when you got together, do something you did when you first met, look at old photos and talk about it, what made you happy back then as it helps keep things in perspective and I think there is some truth in that. Can you take a few days out and do lots of talking but not about the problems, talk about the nice things, the things you love about one another. It is very hard. pm me if you want to have a chat off thread.

Waiting your DSS sounds hilarious! I suppose we must practice what we preach though!

Anyway, I'll post in later but I really need a bath and I am completely knackered so might try and get an early night.

Josie I am so sorry about the fight. It is definitely stressful. But he clearly loves you very much and the time away will help too?

NearlyDunne · 05/01/2012 18:06

Hey guys
feeling odd today my tummy felt really tight on the inside if you know what i mean like id eaten to much. But i hadnt and my back was kinda sore. i have been on the pill so long i dont remember if it is what my af feels like. i actually feel silly even posting it.
Has anyone had that b4?

WaitingForMe · 05/01/2012 14:15

Raspberry - Regarding the XBox sharing that will go out the window. My brothers and I do a secret santa (four of us all with partners) and this year DH got the Cars2 game. With shocking speed DSS1 sidled over to him, onto his lap and reiterated everything we have ever told them about sharing. We were all wetting ourselves laughing but he's played it more than DH. The Kindle is especially great for kids (stepsons are 6 and 3) and I hate kids using consoles.

JosieSmith1 · 05/01/2012 13:24

Just a quick hello from me

Feeling a bit down, argued with DH the other day about this whole TTCing bollox. He says I'm stressing too much and everything I do and say is about getting pg. He's right of course, but he doesn't understand how it feels to be so out of control and worried it'll never happen etc etc. He says he's worried we're falling apart, as am I. We never have fun anymore. We have virtually no sex life and I want to get it back, but he reckons the only reason I want a sex life is to get pg but that's not true, I just want a better sex life. He says sex is boring. He thinks we can get pg naturally but that I want to rush IVF just so I can get pg, but after 19 months of TTCing I honestly don't be.ieve we can get pg naturally so of course I want to move onto the next step, which might actually result in a baby. He also says I'm so hung up on getting pg he thinks he's not enough for me. Which is sad but true. I love him to bits and don't ever want us to break up but he can't provide everything I need and we've been together 8 years and just the two of us is getting boring and I'm lonely.

Anyway, we've made up but it's just a matter of time before the arguing starts again Sad We're away this weekend (though AF is due) so hopefully we can forget about TTCing for a couple of days and have some fun.

Hi the the newbies (sorry for being miserable) and hope everyone is ok x

CEDR · 05/01/2012 10:41

Good Lukc Ratata with the pg test at the weekend!

I also love OBEM, it's fascinating and really shows that you just don't know what's going to happen on the day!

Shamefully I also love 16 and Pregnant on MTV.... though being very American they seem to have an entirely different system..... all interesting though. And a little bit terrifying!

marshmallow2468 · 05/01/2012 09:16

Soooo, the last pill has been taken. Soon it'll be all systems go!

I have a question though. I've been on Microgynon for about 6 or 7 years. Should I expect any side effects from stopping it? I never used to suffer massively from mood swings or anything like that so hoping not, but any experiences?

Oh yes, a friend of mine announced she was pregnant a few days ago. I'm really happy for her, but slightly jealous (in a good way!) Fingers crossed I won't be too far behind her!

WinterMymble · 05/01/2012 00:13

Raspberry i am so sorry :( I really hope it happens soon, i am seriously sending concentrated babydust good wishes. I am so sorry you've been so sad today. :/

Ratata crikey, I am thinking it is sounding very positive! Having the wring days doesn't seem to rule things out, i am starting to suspect, so gosh, go for it on Saturday when you test. We will all be here glued for the results!

NearlyDunne · 04/01/2012 23:06

I didn't think i would be like this at all but when your on here and every one is talking about it. i wouldn't have even thought that was a symptom until reading things on here.
Sure we shall just have to wait and see :)

Ratata · 04/01/2012 22:56

Yeah I really hope he isn't like that with her or the baby. I had a total lump in my throat when the baby was put on the table and not breathing.

NearlyDunne I hope you are the luckiest person alive :) Woo lets symptom spot :D I've been doing a lot of that. I should stop obsessing...

Glad to know I'm not the only one obsessed at times though.

NearlyDunne · 04/01/2012 22:44

Ratata thats exactly what i felt like. when he punched the wall i got that horrible feeling for that poor girl. hope he holds his temper better with her.

on an unrelated note... and possibly tmi Af is due in 6 days but noticed a light brown discharge tonight.... could i be the luckiest person alive and conceive in 3 weeks. doubt it. iv been reading to many of these threads i think.

Ratata · 04/01/2012 22:31

I hate guy like that angry one on OBEM tonight. Reminds me exactly of my ex! I still have dreams of the day I dumped him. It was just such an awesome feeling! Then met DH 2 weeks later :D

Ratata · 04/01/2012 22:29

Congrats winter fabulous news!

Totally agree that we have been taught so much that looking at a penis will get us pregnant that you would think it would be easy to get pregnant.

I'm currently 10 days late on my AF coming. I just want it to come and go so we can properly get going with TTC. Actually been going at it like bunnies even though I'm pretty sure it's been the wrong days etc. Hoping we can keep it going this regularly for however long it takes :)

A small part of me wonders.... Could I be late for a good reason? Probably just the pill though. Will be testing on Saturday if it doesn't appear by then.

JNO18 · 04/01/2012 22:18

I know, that wasn't good. Got a bit of growng up to do I think. What a MASSIVE baby as well!

raspberrytipple · 04/01/2012 22:17

He was scary. I'd be a bit worried about how he would cope with a baby?

OP posts:
NearlyDunne · 04/01/2012 22:12

I love OBEM i havent missed an episode. that guy was a bit mental though wasnt he

JNO18 · 04/01/2012 21:09

yep me too! Get the tissues at the ready

raspberrytipple · 04/01/2012 21:07

Well, around 20 months I think, maybe a little longer. I was looking back through some old threads on here trying to work it out but didn't succeed. Watching OBEM now just to upset myself even more :)

OP posts:
NearlyDunne · 04/01/2012 20:38

next time he asks you should make up some really dirty ones ;)

Fairygodmother1 · 04/01/2012 20:22

DH was disappointed when he asked me to explain the acronyms on here - sure he came up with a few funny ones himself!!!
