Zippys I'm so so happy for you and I'm wishing you a lovely, boring pregnancy.

Hello ladies, just wanted to pop my head in and give you my good news, we got our BFP just over a week ago from ICSI (after being told odds of sucess low), had my fist scan this morning and we got to see little beans heartbeat. After three year and our m/c I cant tell you the emotions when we saw that little flicker on the screen. Its still early days (6 weeks today) but trying to stay positive Grin . Still on lots of injections to try to prevent m/c but worth the pain a million times over.

Sorry for no personals but just wanted to let anyone who is struggling right now the hope it can happen it just takes a while for some of us.

Ratata · 18/06/2012 20:11

Hello again all. I think I'm ready to properly rejoin the thread now. It's been about 7 weeks since I had my miscarriage. Unfortunately it's still a little raw now and again but I'm getting there. For newbies, me and DH had been trying since Dec 2011 and got pregnant in March this year. I went for a private early scan at 9 weeks but the foetus had stopped growing at 5 weeks. Missed miscarriage. I lost it a week or so later. Just finished my first period since the mc so ready to roll (in the bed) again. Will have a read of what everyone has been up to now xx

raspberrytipple · 17/06/2012 16:23

Oh evil I'm sorry (((((hugs))))) its so shit isn't it. I just don't understand why it takes some of us so long when others don't even have to think about it. It's so unfair. Completely understand your anger xxx

evilgiraffe · 17/06/2012 15:48

Hey everyone. Fate has it in for me, I think. I've spent the last week trying not to get my hopes up as my period has got later and later in appearing. Today, of course, it is a whole week late and the day I'd decided to do my first pregnancy test for years. So, today is cycle day one, meaning my period has started on both mother's day AND father's day this year. Fuck my life Angry

raspberrytipple · 17/06/2012 08:22

Well, second wedding of the year done. We left about half 11, I must have danced for 3 hrs solid and my lord can I feel it today :) DH doesn't do much by way of dancing so is feeling it a bit having propped up the bar for a long time! uggghhhh need to go and get the car in a bit then cook roast lamb for lunch.

raspberrytipple · 15/06/2012 21:23

100 mares!! Blimey now that's something our-well, my DH definately could not compete with :)

OP posts:
CaveMum · 15/06/2012 21:13

I work in horse racing, not on the stud anymore, but yeah it's what they do. Most normal horse breeders dont go to the same lengths! It's a business after all and many of the popular stallions have to fit over 100 mares in during the season (Feb to June), so they need to make sure the mares are sent at exactly the right time so that there are no wasted opportunities.

Honestly, those maresget better attention and monitoring than we women do!

Enjoy the wedding, and fingers crossed the weather is good!

raspberrytipple · 15/06/2012 21:08

I also never knew that was what happened with horses! Never really thought about it before!

raspberrytipple · 15/06/2012 21:07

Haha, stallion/stud :) men love little pet names :) glad you are feeling a bit better. Always nice to have someone to confide in in rl.

I'm off to a wedding tomorrow and I'm so unprepared, my outfit isn't ready, my legs are a complete mess from pole dance bruises and I'm feeling really fat. Still no one will be looking at me thankfully. Just doesn't look good weather wise does it, horrendous!!

CaveMum · 15/06/2012 18:19

I'm doing better thanks raspberry. Met up with my pregnant best friend for lunch yesterday and told her. She was great and we actually had a bit of a laugh about the follicle tracking. We do the same thing for the mares when we try to get them in foal: scan for follicles, when one is big enough give a quick shot of LH to trigger ovulation, then send her to the stallion!

DH will be thrilled to be referred to as the stallion Wink

raspberrytipple · 14/06/2012 11:34

I'm a lucky girl I know :)

How are you feeling today? xx

OP posts:
CaveMum · 14/06/2012 07:15

Oh raspberry, how romantic Hmm

raspberrytipple · 13/06/2012 21:44

Oneday it's a pain isn't, we aren't loaded but I also know people that survive on much less. Follow your heart, whatever you decide will come right in the end.

Hi ronia and welcome, it's very quiet around here nowadays but always here if you want a chat :). Try not to worry for the first six months or so and just enjoy some good ol shagging !! :)

Hey cave! Yep certainly is quiet, we need a tumbleweed emoticon. Sorry you've not felt great but I always find a really good cry very therapeutic although tiring. Something to make you smile even though it's waaay TMI. I'm on CD12 and noticed a bit of stretchy CM although a little white rather than clear but thought we'd better get some up there just in case. I was drying my hair and looking for some knickers to wear for bed and found a slutty red underwear set and Cuban stockings so put it on to treat DH which all went v.well until he got too over excited mid thrust, pulled out to far and shot most of it on my bum. Got a teeny bit in but fgs, he's had 15 years experience and gets it wrong tonight! Bloody men Grin. I said well you made a mess of that and he slapped me on the arse and said oh we'll never mind, south parks on and wandered off downstairs :/

CaveMum · 13/06/2012 20:23

Massive congrats Amazeballs/BeanDunne!

Welcome Ronia, don't worry too much about what other people have been through, it's all about you now.

It is very quiet around here these days, I think the new TTC 1st baby thread has nicked a few potential newbies for us!

Well, in my world it is CD32 and I still haven't ovulated. I've spoken to the clinic who have said that they're not happy with my progress on Clomid. It's obviously not working for me as my ovulation has not been regular. I've got to wait till my appointment with the consultant on 10th July to see what they plan to do next, though follicle tracking seems to be the next step. I'll be honest, I had a huge bit of a cry about it all and ended up telling my boss I felt ill and needed to go home. I've spent all afternoon on the sofa either sleeping or eating chocolate.

Anyway, I'm trying to put my positive head on and keep reminding myself that every step I take brings me closer to a baby, but 2 years down the line it's hard Sad

Ronia · 12/06/2012 10:41

Hi folks

New here too. Am 35, married almost a year, and just coming off the pill to start TTC.

Have NO idea what to do/expect but will wait for body to settle down a bit after coming of Cerazette. Bit nervous as lots of friends/family my age having some problems conceiving but I guess I won't worry yet and will just see what happens!

Have invested in What to Expect Before You're Expecting to get the skinny on vitamins, diet etc. to get my body ready.

Nice to meet you all.
x

BeanDunne · 12/06/2012 05:34

Amazeballs here :) just dropped in to say hello and let you all know i got my BFP 2 days ago. I know i haven't posted here in a while sorry.

Sending all you wonderful ladies baby dust xxxx

Thanks for listening to my moans and whinges

onedayamumihope · 10/06/2012 20:19

Thanks raspberry, I'm still in two minds what to do, DH is happy to have one kiddie in the flat, but I'm concerned we'll never get the money together for the deposit or get the mortgage once I'm on maternity leave. I've thought about having the hormone test, caz then I'd know more about the status of my fertility....? Any comments welcome :) xxx

raspberrytipple · 10/06/2012 19:06

Hi Oneday :)
I don't think there's ever a right time, money is a nightmare in this day and age, we've chosen to stay in rented although we now rent from my parents so it's a bit different for us now. It's worse when it feels like everyone around you is having a baby and you're still not quite in the perfect place but you have to do what feels right, there is always a way around these thingsxx

onedayamumihope · 10/06/2012 16:52

Hi everyone,
Thought I'd say hi! I'm new too so apols for not knowing the lingo lol!

My story? Well, I'm 33, been married 5 years, no children yet caz we've lots of relationship, family and financial problems...and still only living in a small 2 bed flat.., so my sensible hat says we should wait till we can afford to buy a house (and get a mortgage on 2 incomes), but so many people around me are having babies (Inc SIL) and its getting harder to show my level of excitement for people, knowing we're still not in the right place for it..I guess I'm getting anxious caz of my age, its on my mind a lot. We are saving for a deposit but I'm getting impatient, I can't talk about it too much with DH caz he's starting to feel pressure...any reassurance welcome please xxxx

raspberrytipple · 10/06/2012 16:21

Hi Milo :)

relax and have fun is definitely the best line of attack! Every other day or every 2-3 days is a good idea around ovulation, if you are 33-36 days I'd probably focus on DTD from day 16 to day 25 just to be sure but keep an eye on your EWCM as that'll give you an idea. Take folic acid and a vit pill for DH if you can convince him! Mine isn't keen but he did for a while. I have anything between 29-35 day cycles but no real reason for the variation so very much like you. Eat healthy and try and do a bit of exercise etc. Ov sticks are useful to give an idea but I've officially given up on them now! They are too expensive and haven't worked to date so I just can't see the point in using them any more! But - they can make you feel in control so if it works for you then go for it. Good luck!

milocuckoomitten · 09/06/2012 10:21

Hi can I join? Was here for a while before but had a difficult year last year and stopped ttc.
This year we're having a fresh start, so for the last couple of months have just been relaxing and having fun. Nothing has happened yet but haven't been seriously dtd every other day or anything, just when we feel like it.
Can you lovely people remind me what I ought to be doing as far as supplements, diet etc. goes?
I have some OV sticks I'm thinking of using this cycle just out of interest because I have a long cycle, usually 33-36 days, and I want to know when I'm ov'ing and whether my luteal phase etc. is normal. I've had blood tests due to my long cycles before and they were all fine so I guess it's just one of those things!

raspberrytipple · 09/06/2012 07:48

Fingers massively crossed then! I'm just about ready to hit the shag wagon again. Mega healthy diet starts next week too. DH wants to try out paeleeo?? I might die of hunger but my friend has lost over a stone on it so I have high hopes!!
