AmazeballsSuperFandango · 11/02/2012 19:44

Oh wow CONGRATULATIONS Beeble i love how you told your dp.

Pearl i hope we get to see a BFP photo from you next week :)

Possibly tmi ahead....
I think im due to ov in the next few days but today i started to bleed but not like a normal af. Its really bright red like from a cut but its not from a cut iyswim. No pains or anything and its as heavy as day 2 of normal af. Its crap had a romantic (swi with candles Grin) night in planned with dp as its his bday tomorrow. I do spoil him Hmm

Things wit sil will be grand i will love talking baby with her and when my day comes she can give me advice. Oh i dont doubt that she was weird because she was pg at christmas im sure her hormones were probably all over the place and then having to keep the secret on top of that would make anyone weird :)

Beeblebear · 11/02/2012 16:08

Ok well its not letting me copy so....

I made a tshirt with an iron on decal that says baby bump with an arrow pointing down. Asked dh if he wanted to see my new shirt. He did so i showed him. He stares and went ok.,.. and about 30 Seconds later wheni kept looking at him funny he blurts out YOURE PREGNANT! like we were playing a difficult game of charades. Too funny.

Beeblebear · 11/02/2012 15:54

Pearl. I used the cheapies and had a vvvvv faint line. The picked up an exoensive 5 day early one and it was very clear. Did another cheapy today and nothing.... so i think you should go out and get a good one!

Will copy my telling dh story over from another thread....

PearlFisher · 11/02/2012 11:59

Ha I just checked and they go off march 2013 - totally seeing what I want to see to justify POAS! Blush

Am going to try and focus on fun things for the rest of the weekend...

Wishing everyone a good weekend and luck to all waiting x

littlemisslemon · 11/02/2012 11:36

huge congratulations beeble!! :) so exciting. best wishes for a happy and healthy pregnancy!!

PearlFisher · 11/02/2012 10:58

Thanks raspberry. Since I've been charting I've had between 29 and 32 day cycles, average of 30 days but the last two have been 31 days. Today is CD30.

If I'm being sensible I should indeed wait until Monday trouble is I have a bag of cheap piss-sticks that go off in march

raspberrytipple · 11/02/2012 09:34

When was your AF due pearl? If it is. Very early days and it was a less concentrated wee that may account for the weak line? Maybe test again on Monday now?

OP posts:
PearlFisher · 11/02/2012 07:56

Beeble! Fantastic news, congratulations Grin Let us know how you tell Mr Beeble!

Thanks everyone for the encouragement. Unfortunately I can't wait until Sunday as I'm staying over with friends (only got cheap dippy tests and not sure the whole pee-pot performance is good guest etiquette, lol!)

So, I tested this morning, even though I shouldn't have, especially cos I had to wee in the night ( it was exactly in the middle so figured I might as well test in the morning rather than 3am). Very ghostly faint line, much weaker than yesterday :(

I dunno if this to be expected given it was a weaker sample? Was sort of hoping that there would have been sufficient HCG increase to account for this. Anyway, my temp is still up and the witch has not yet arrived. What will be will be

CaveMum · 10/02/2012 21:22

Congrats Beeble Grin and fingers crossed for you Pearl

Josie, so glad your appt was ok, I really hope it works out for you. How is horsey these days?

Raspberry, hope you're feeling a bit better. It's so easy to get bogged down in this ttc malarkey.

mrsmellow · 10/02/2012 20:21

Woohoo beeble congrats on the bfp - I've never even seen a photo of one before!! Here's to more bfp's all round Wine

Thanks raspberry - I'm actually very fond of my MIL, I think I'll wait and see whether she starts 'hinting subtly' Wink and then decide what to do, but I think if I said I didn't want to talk about it quite explicitly that she would be supportive and leave it. She is less good at picking up hints, so I would have to spell it out!

raspberrytipple · 10/02/2012 18:40

Evening girls,
Thanks for all your messages, feeling a lot better now although completely knackered from a couple of weeks of stress and lack of sleep so wine then bed tonight!

Pearl fingers very tightly crossed for you! Keep us updated :) Perhaps test again Sunday and hopefully the line will be stronger. In the meantime crack open the Biscuit

hope the MIL visit goes well MrsMellow - do you think she will start asking loads of questions about it all if you tell her you are struggling? We have told my mum so far and she has been completely amazing but we haven't said to MIL yet, I just don't think that she would understand to be honest.

Ummmmmm BEEBLE that is a BFP if ever I saw one! That's a proper line an all - not just a 'faint' one! Congratulations preggers Grin

Amaze I can understand how you feel. Unless it's close friends who get pg I tend to feel a bit 'oh sod off' about any that I hear about and that includes family. Hope SIL isn't too annoying or insensitive

CEDR your colleague sounds really insensitive, I think if it was someone who knew I was struggling and was going through it to I would be tempted to tell her to back off a bit, grumpy mare that I am :)

cave congrats on the ovulation - you did say you managed to SWI plenty didnt you in which case I have everything crossed for you this month!

hippolyta I wouldn't worry too much about lack of AF, maybe give it a few more weeks, it can take a little while if you've been on/off the pill or on it for a long time. It's bound to really I suppose, hope it comes soon as you can get officially TTC!

Glad the scan went well Evil and I know what you mean about the wobble, it's all so hard isn't it. The whole looking at the screen during the ultrasound brought out the same emotions in me and I just was wishing that he'd say 'oh,ummm, there's a baby in this womb!'. Didn't happen though :(

Sorry AF got you ratata and I did chuckle at your poor rat needing a poo. I had something similar a year ago Blush I had bad pains and convinced myself it was my appendix so I rang the nurse and she told me I probably needed a big poo. Anyway, a couple of hours later it got worse and I did indeed to a mahoosive poo and it went away. Blush

to picklestar, nongodess and chocolate

Special thank you to Josie xx

retested with an ept - not hard to miss this one!

mrsmellow · 10/02/2012 14:44

pearl fingers crossed it turns into a proper BFP - and I know exactly what you mean about just being able to get pregnant... I've started using the OPK's and even a line there would be a start Grin

amaze Sorry to hear that - I have a similar relationship with my SIL who got pregnant within about 3 minutes of trying... somehow friends are different aren't they. When the idea settles down you'll feel a bit better - as beeble says, if you get pregnant, it will be really nice to have little babies at the same time and really don't worry about stealing their thunder - the cousins will be super close which will be great. She might have felt bad about being pregnant, just hang in there Brew Smile

My MIL is coming to visit next week, maybe I'll get her to bring a thermometer Grin (man, I can just imagine that conversation... think I'm going to play the - we're struggling to get pregnant, please can we just not talk about it - card)

Beeblebear · 10/02/2012 14:09

Pearl. Fingers crossed! Hope your faint bfp get darker and sticks around!

Amaze

Maybe you will get preggo and you can be baby buddies! Maybe she was already preg at christmas, hence the mood change. Try and stay suppportive of her even though it's hard.

I got an urge to test today and I think my mind is playing tricks on me. I'm pretty sure it's a bfn but I want to see something so bad i'm imagining a really faint line... Why didn't I wait until tomorrow like I said I would?

AmazeballsSuperFandango · 10/02/2012 10:13

Hey josie glad your app went well.

Thing seem to a bit busier on here recently i may start checking more :)

We seem to be finding swi a little bit harder this month,
dp is working so hard (farmer so early starts and late finishes)so he is shattered all the time

And sil just announced she is pg so we feel like if we did get pg now we would be stealing their thunder.
We were both totally gutted when we found out they were expecting.
it feels a bit like they took something away from us iyswim.
They were always saying they were going to wait a few years till they ttc so dp and i always thought we would be first.
we are happy for them but just wish we had a bit of warning, it came from nowhere like a punch in the face.
Iv never felt like this when someone has been pg before im usually ooooh a baby woooo now dp and i are like mutley grumbling quietly behind their backs and it makes me feel awful because we were all real close b4 christmas (sil attitude changed towards me) ((still dont know why))

This is turning into an essay even though iv deleted half of it Grin sorry

PearlFisher · 10/02/2012 10:02

josie that's great that your appointment went well and you have a start date. It sounds like you are being very strong right now. That's lovely that your dad was supportive.

mrsmellow what a nightmare with the thermometer! Can you not order a digital one over the internet? If they don't deliver to where you are then I'm sure one of us could order one and post it to you. They aren't expensive and you need a nice safe 2 decimal place one that you can stick in your mouth when you're groggy and just woke up - not a glass one that might shatter and cover you in mercury Shock

CEDR I have a friend a bit like that, who also should know better cos it took her two years!

I'm currently trying to stay realistic but got a faint positive this morning. Period is a little irregular so could come any time between today and Monday (though most likely sat or sun). I don't normally do early testing for fear of a CP, but at this point (7 months in) even if it is a CP it is at least a bit reassuring to know I can get pregnant. Am quietly hopeful but only time will tell. Good luck to everyone else waiting x

CEDR · 10/02/2012 09:30

Raspberry- the worst thing about the colleague is that she's also TTC and having no luck (in her mid fourties, and seems to only want a baby because she hates her job...). And so she knows that if I badgered her the way she badgers me.... she'd be really upset.

mrsmellow · 10/02/2012 05:50

josie glad it all went well and starting so soon and nice to have a 'moment' with your Dad too.
I wouldn't worry about crying in front of the Dr., I'm sure they've seen it all and are well used to it, this must be one of the most emotionally fraught times for anyone.

JosieSmith1 · 09/02/2012 22:14

Hello, sorry it's late, I should have come on sooner! Appt went well, we start a week Sunday. Got my prescriptions so I keep looking at those little bottles hoping that I'll be used to them by the time we start and I won't freak out Hmm. The dr went into a little too much detail about the ops so I was a bit upset about that (they really should give couples couches to sit on for conversations like that rather than two separate chairs Grin) but pulled myself round before she came back in the room and caught me crying. I've got another appt on Thursday to learn how to do the injections. Since then I've been pretty snappy, I don't seem to have much tolerance at the minute, which is quite nice becauuse I get all my own way Blush But I know the people closest to me know why I'm snappy and should cut me some slack. I'm a bit Angry at my pg friend as she's been a bit all about her 'troubles' at the moment but on reflection, and discussion with DH, I'm over reacting so I'm trying not to say anything as I don't want to lose her, but she did say she needs everything she can get to relax, yeah, because everything is so easy for me right now Angry. I'm still totally freaking out about it but distracting myself well. All I need to do now is arrange time off work, if they give me any jip about it god they'll know about it! Told my dad what was going on and that upset me quite a bit because he was really supportive (he's been a bit of an absent father) so that was quite a nice bonding experience.

Anyway, hope you are all well x

mrsmellow · 09/02/2012 20:49

Hello
hippolyta I agree, just over a month is pretty normal, I took 43 days and I don't think that is unusual, but good to check in with GP anyway.
cave that is a seriously long time to wait, you must have been climbing walls

beeble I'm 33

I bought a thermometer ready to take temperatures - the only one they had was mercury (which I'm sure in the UK are not available?!) - and tried it to check it, but got to 35.8 and it wasn't going anywhere, so checked under my arm, to no avail, so washed it and it broke in my hand... so had mercury all over the sink.. the trials and tribulations of TTC just get more exciting all the time Grin So, now temperature in the morning, foiled again - will send DH to buy another one tomorrow...

Just went on Facebook and had one of those moments where everybody seems to be either pregnant or has just had a baby - obviously I know it isn't true, but it can really feel that way sometimes! DH says it is clearly our turn next.. Smile

CaveMum · 09/02/2012 20:14

Unfortunately it can take time after coming off the Pill for your cycles to resume something resembling normality. My experience was come off the Pill in May 2010, breakthrough bleed and then nothing until the following February! I'm one of the extremes though!

Generally speaking it is NHS policy not to investigate absent periods until 6 months have passed, so don't expect your GP to do much at this stage.

littlemisslemon · 09/02/2012 18:24

hippolyta: i came off the pill mid Dec and still nothing and was talking to a friend who stopped in Sept and still not had a period so it can take time. just over 1 month isn't very long! hopefully it'll settle down for all of us awaiting af soon.

josie i hope your appointment went well and that all is progressing as expected.

raspberry i hope you feel better soon. Supportive vibes and Brew heading your way.

beeble im 26.

PearlFisher · 09/02/2012 17:59

Sorry cross post.

Hope AF turns up soon for you Hippolyta. I haven't been on the pill for any length of time, and not at all recently, so afraid I can't help. Good luck :)

PearlFisher · 09/02/2012 17:57

Hi all.

It's understandable that your ultrasound was emotional evilgiraffe, hope you are feeling better now. Good news that nothing of concern was found and hope the cyst has cleared up if you do go back for a rescan.

Raspberrytipple, sorry you are going through such a tough time :( Hope you feel better when you get your l&d date to focus on.

Sorry about ERTD Ratata, but yay for miraculous rat recovery :)

Mrsmellow hope the temping works out despite your southern hemisphere summer climate.

Chocolate hope you are getting over your flu now and gearing up for SWI.

Cavemum fingers crossed for your TWW.

Beeblebear - sorry forgot to answer your question! I'm 31.

Any news Josie? Hope you are ok.

Not much to tell here, am just waiting and trying not to mental too much!

Hippolyta20 · 09/02/2012 17:54

Hello Ladies

Josie, hope everything went well.

Giraffe, glad to hear everything looks normal for you. Sorry you found it hard though.

Raspberry, sorry you are feeling down. Hope you have something fun to look forward to over the weekend to take your mind off everything.

I still haven't seen AF since I came of the pill on 1/1/12. Starting to stress a bit about it now. Did bleed as soon as I came of but know this isn't a "real" period. Thought she would have turned up by now if everything was ok. Hoping body gets into action soon. Going to the doctors next week for a smear and general chat about TTC.

How long did others take before AF turned up after coming off the pill?
