McPrice welcome! Do you really mean one month? I'm guessing not from the tone of the rest of your post as you only really get one go a month Grin. The crap message from schools often gets ranted at on here as we've pretty much come to the conclusion all teachers are liars :) Anyway, some of us here have been trying a few months, others years. Myself, I've been trying for over two years and have been referred for tests. Depending on your age and how long you have been trying it may be worth visiting the doctors? Periods can often mimic PG symptoms. Best thing I can recommend is get a book about the whole TTC/cycles and learn how to spot ovulation. Make sure you have sex three/four times a week and eat healthy, all the basic stuff, it will all ensure you give the best chance

I'm a week into the two week wait so to celebrate I've spent £250 on clothes. Purchases included some rather beautiful killer heal shoes and a very tight pair of skinny jeans. I have a few more bits coming from the internet next week too :)

Mc price welcome :)
You will soon realise that you were lied to as a child and it is not that simple I'm afraid. I'm in my third month of ttc now and many others have been here a lot longer. Don't panic though as it is very early days. You cycle is probably only just getting back to normal.
Have you had AF since you finished the cerazette? Or just a break through bleed?
We are all very good symptom spotters so feel free to share yours any time.
Don't put to much pressure on yourself as it may get stressful very quickly. Just enjoy swi but there is no need to panic it can take a year or more for some people.
I hope your stay is a short one

McPrice · 25/02/2012 15:30

Hi, Im new to all of this so please bear with me.
Me and a very keen dad to be are trying for a little one. And am wondering if its normal to take this long. (am beginning to think all the scare stories of my teenage years were all a lie...i.e you only need to sniff sperm in order to get pregnant!)
I have been trying to conceive for over a month now, came off cerazette after being on it for 8 years without a period (still no period), but have been getting symptoms that point to pregnancy for example sore boobs, sickness feelings. These are a little disconcerting as when i get one of these as husbands goes in to baby overdrive and buys a test and waves it at me when i wake up. Bless him; done 4 times now and he and I are so disappointed when it?s negative.
Anyone else finding this? I am having scary dreams about being baron.

littlemisslemon · 25/02/2012 13:19

Work has taken over my life so im only just catching up!

fairy - so sorry to hear your news. Must be very difficult for you :( the positives are you know it can happen now and your scan shows all ok. Make sure you take care of yourself though.

josie - that sounds very distressing fainting like that. no wonder you're worried. again make sure you take good care of yourself and i hope your journey is less bumpy from now on.

10 weeks since stopping pill and still no AF for me! Have spoken to multiple friends in same position though so feeling much better about it. It'll come back soon im sure! Exciting news is we've been asked to be god parents to our friends beautiful baby (our third godchild!) and my SIL is due tomorrow so will have our first niece/nephew! so exciting!

Good luck to everyone waiting for news this month. x

BookAddict · 24/02/2012 22:53

PS my AF arrived today just as another colleague announced she's pregnant. Great timing! Sigh.

BookAddict · 24/02/2012 22:51

Thanks for the welcome Josie and I wish you all the best. I know how hard it is when work colleagues try to help but you just want to cry in front of them. We will get there in the end, I'm sure of it! xxx

PricklyPickle · 24/02/2012 21:03

Josie We all have down days, its just nature recharging your happiness battery.

You're allowed to be miserable and surely its a good thing to stop and think about why you're doing all this every once in a while.

Just remember, IVF works.

JosieSmith1 · 24/02/2012 15:05

Welcome BookAddict [waves] Fingers crossed you get an answer soon

I'm not going to stay long as I'm feeling really sorry for myself today. Just wondering if it's all worth it and if I'm ever going to get that magical moment of being able to announce a pregnancy Sad The girls at work just asked if I'm ok and I nearly cried. I think the meds are kicking in and I'm getting a bit over emotional

BookAddict · 23/02/2012 22:23

Hello everyone, I'm new to mumsnet tho I said hi back in December and then hid for a while, so sick of BFN every month. Now I'm 3 days late, no AF, but BFN this morning again. I'm never late! Have been torturing myself all day with maybes.

MCT76 Good luck with the scan! Rubbish about the PCT!

waves to MrsHiggens welcome :)

Cave hope the night sweats get better!

keep going Josie!

nothing to report here, continuing the every 2 days shagging, weeing on ovulation sticks (still negative) and awaiting AF! Going on holiday in a week with 2 other couples both with babies, looking forward to it but am worried I'll be a tiny bit jelous of them! :(

CaveMum · 23/02/2012 16:20

...of sweat.

Stupid phone!

CaveMum · 23/02/2012 16:19

Fairy, so sorry to hear your news Sad

Josie, glad you have something of a system in place.

In Cave-world, I am suffering from Clomid night-sweats Hmm It's foul! For the last two nights I have been constantly waking up in a pool

JosieSmith1 · 23/02/2012 16:08

So sorry to hear that Fairy I hope you're ok

MCT76 my DH is doing my injections too as I could never do them myself (although I'm struggling a bit with him doing them too!) We're trying to figure out some sort of routine which involves me taking the time to calm myself down, then giving him a non-verbal sign that I'm ready (so I can concentrate on my breathing) and then he counts to 5 as he's doing it so I know that as soon as it goes in it's nearly over. It's a military operation and all very dramatic, and usually ends in tears Blush

Definitely eye on the prize. Now that I've started there's no chance I'm giving up. I'm really glad it wasn't the meds that made me ill, as much as I don't want to be having ivf or injecting every day, I'm so pleased that it's still something we can do and we don't have to abandon it

Welcome MrsHiggins, hope the clomid does the trick Smile

MCT76 · 23/02/2012 11:49

Morning ladies,

Fairy: I am sorry about your news. A big hug from me too...

Josie: your IVF experience sounds rather distressing. Hope you've managed to get some much-needed rest and that you're now fully recovered from that episode and ready to carry on.

I've got my scan tomorrow to check that everything is fine for our second IUI which should be happening early next week. I've been injecting (well, DH has as there is no way on Earth that I could inject myself) every other day and taking Clomid from days 2-5 of my period and I am feeling ok physically but quite scatty and anxious. I am finding it hard to concentrate for long or to be productive in any way but I am hoping it won't last for long.

I asked the nurse about IVF and once again, she said that they still don't know as the PCT has to go through a tendering process and there will be no news until April Confused. It looks like going private will have to be the natural choice for us...

maamalady · 23/02/2012 11:26

Fairy - so sorry to hear that. Hugest hugs for you both :(

Josie - sorry it's all so distressing for you too - I'll keep my fingers crossed that it becomes less distressing.

AF has finally left, so it's back to SWI for us - fingers crossed this time it works!

Fairygodmother1 · 23/02/2012 10:44

Hi ya,

I'm back!!! I've miscarried. My scan showed that it had all gone, but everything looked normal in there so fingers crossed we can so it again!

Sorry this message is a bit self-centred, will catch up on everyone else's news asap!

AmazeballsSuperFandango · 23/02/2012 00:27

Hiya

Welcome mrshiggins hope af comes soon so you can get started. not often i say hop af comes Grin

josie so sorry your having a poop time of it but as cave says keep your eye on the prize

i haven't been around because we set a date for the wedding.....in 5 months so been going mad planning and dp dropped the bomb that he thinks we should stop ttc till after the wedding. He obviously knew we were getting married when we decided to ttc so im really upset by the whole thing.
So im hoping last night will have done the job Grin

CaveMum · 22/02/2012 19:46

Hello all, not much news in my world I've taken delivery of some cheapy ovulation tests and will use them alongside the CBFM. Belt and braces approach!

Ratata, you have to make decisions as to what is right for you. Hope you enjoy your gigs and holiday!

Josie, sorry you are having a tough time with the injections. Eyes on the final prize and all that.

[waves] to everyone else Grin

mrshiggins09 · 22/02/2012 19:43

Hey all, new to this whole forum thing been reading thru lots of the threads past few days and decided its time to join in if that's ok? A little about me been ttc for almost 2 years had all test done and found out I just don't ovulate regularly on my own so have just been prescribed Clomid so eagerly awaiting af to get the ball rolling, I'm 28 and hubby is 33 been married nearly 3 years! X :)

raspberrytipple · 22/02/2012 19:28

This blummin thread disappeared off my list completely and I had to go back thru my history on my phone to get it back?! Second time that's happened?

Anyway, sorry for being quiet, have been feeling a bit sorry for myself so have vacated forums a bit. I have no news anyway other than having my lap & dye paperwork through and my progesterone results back 46.9 which means I ovulated. I reckon either it was last Thursday or Friday So day 19/20 that I llaid my egg as I got the cbfm peak on Wednesday - day 18 and we dtd Saturday Monday Wednesday and Thursday so days 14, 16, 18, 19 so fingers crossed we timed it right.

Hugs for all x

Hi, just a quick update from me

Had the first injection on Sunday, I cried, got a bit panicked, then didn't feel it Hmm so that was a positive experience. Monday night's I felt, then on Tuesday morning I passed out at work and kept slipping in and out of consciousness (on the tea room floor Blush) and ended up being put into an ambulance to the hosp and I had really bad abdominal pain. Then the symptoms stopped on their own and I was fine! I was terrified it was a reaction to the buserelin cos it started with what I thought was a hot flush, but the hosp didn't think so, and when we spoke to the fertility clinic they didn't think so, and I took my next jab last night (which really hurt and left a bruise) and I'm ok so far today. Hosp said it's just one of those things! I'm terrified it's gonna happen again.

So far my IVF journey has not been easy and I don't suppose it's gonna get any easier, maybe yesterday was a warning that I'm knackered. I feel physically and emotionally like I've been hit by a bus Sad but I'm determined to carry on

Hope you are all managing ok x

mrsmellow · 21/02/2012 13:55

Hello all - Congrats fairy
Sorry you're feeling rubbish raspberry and cave and hello to the newbies!
Feeling a bit more upbeat than last week - heard from a friend who was in my shoes a couple of years ago and got pregnant the month after being told she had polycystic ovaries - she now has 2 lovely kids... so fingers crossed - and lots of SWI - CD22 in our house - all OPK's negative (but really not sure I'm peeing on them at the right time..) but is half-way through a 40 day cycle -so will keep it up until CD30 I think, just in case! Haven't gotten hold of a thermometer yet (or risked another mercury one!)... things to do this weekend...
josie hope the injections are going ok.

Ratata · 20/02/2012 17:01

Big congrats fairy

I'm afraid I will be leaving the thread for a while. We have decided to stop TTC until May. We have decided we want to be selfish a bit longer! We have front row tickets to our favourite comedian in Nov and should we get pg in Feb/March it would be unlikely I would be able to go and would be so gutted. We are also fancying a nice holiday in Summer like the US so that's another reason to hold off.

Unfortunately I'm feeling a bit up in the air about everything now. I love music gigs, comedy gigs, long haul holidays and partying. Having to give things like that up freaks me out a bit. Even just giving it up for a while. I know I could still do the odd gig and do most things in future after child but wouldn't be so easy and that scares me.

Will still lurk the thread to keep an eye on BFPs. :)
