Hi Ladies, may I join you? I have a feeling I'm about to get pushed off the November/December flight and need a place where I can come to recuperate.

My story, in short: We've been TTC for 7 months now. I started temping last month and discovered no significant shift in temperature after the middle of the month so suspected I might not be OV'ing. Went to the doc to have my hormones checked and discovered my Androstenedione levels were too high which inhibits OV. Doctor suspects that may be caused by a small dermoid cyst on my right ovary. I'm booked in for an MRI next week and will likely have the thing removed soon. I hope removal will bring my hormone levels back to normal again. We're still TTC while we're going through this and hoping it works out in the mean time.

I temped again this month and did see a shift mid-cycle and my temp stayed high for the rest of the cycle so I assume I did OV. Got all excited that I might be PG but POAS on Monday and had a BFN. AF is due anywhere between today and Saturday and although I'm not getting any obvious AF symptoms, I have a feeling she's lurking.

mrsmellow · 29/02/2012 10:59

Hi again
MCT hope the SWI went well and hope the first scanner was spoken to by someone on your behalf!

amaze that is a new one, I am resisting the urge to youtube - many the hour has been wasted at work that way!

I have a weird symptom - a buzzing feeling in my pelvis, just above the pubic bone - any ideas? It has been coming and going for about 40 seconds at a time on and off for about 3 hours... Probably my imagination at this stage, but we'll have SWI tonight just in case Grin (I am CD30 - cycles normally 42-45 days, so could in theory be something ovulation related - anyone? grasps at straws

AmazeballsSuperFandango · 29/02/2012 10:47

Oh yes i reached a new baby low.... watching videos on youtube of people telling dp's and familys they are pg.
It did give me a great idea of how to tell dp whan it does happen :)

AmazeballsSuperFandango · 29/02/2012 10:45

Mc im so glad the news is more positive today i felt awful for you yesterday. i bet the news today felt so good :)

In my last 2ww till the wedding and its driving me nuts. Half of me desperately wants to be pg now then the other half is like i cant be as i have a wedding to organize and i wouldn't want to be pg and as stressed out as i am.
Who stupid idea was it to get married in 5 month Grin

How is everyone today?

MCT76 · 29/02/2012 10:09

littlemisslemon: you're right! I was in such a daze that I didn't even click about what she'd said...I think she probably meant to say outside of the pelvis although I'm not sure...I had another scan this morning and this time, it was performed by a knowledgeable and amiable doctor (what a change!). She went for the external one instead (much better) and could see my ovaries straight away. She said it was perfectly normal for them to be high and that it should have no bearing on my fertility so that was nice to hear...Also, I have several big follicles so we're having our second go on Friday morning.

Last time, we were told to abstain from sex but now I've been instructed that we MUST do it tonight as early as possible and then abstain until after Friday...not really in the mood for it but we're used to sex being anything but spontaneous so we'll just get on with it Grin

littlemisslemon · 28/02/2012 22:18

MC What did she mean by almost outside your uterus? they're meant to be separate from your uterus! Maybe ask your GP if they've received a formal report of the scan and ask them to explain it to you. (or have i got the wrong end of the stick?!) Confused

MCT76 · 28/02/2012 16:52

Hi everyone,

Hope you're all hanging in there and treating yourself as required. Josie: I hope you're coping better with the injections now. A big wave to McPrice and MissChunks and I do hope that you won't need to stick around for long (in the nicest possible way, of course!)

I had a horrible week last week, feeling down in the dumps, tearful and quite negative about it all...I had the scan on Friday and there were no follicles. I burst into tears and the nurse explained that my oestrogen levels were very low and this was the reason why I was feeling so low which was a relief. She told me to inject every day until Monday when I saw her for another scan. I got very frustrated as she told me off yet again for "not emptying my bladder properly" which is rubbish as I always go to the loo right before I go in...after that, she spent AGES digging and stirring and could not find my ovaries so she did an abdominal ultrasound and eventually found them but said they're almost outside of my uterus (!) so it would be difficult for IVF to work Sad.

My gut feeling is that they are being told to fob people off on any grounds as the PCT is not funding IVF any longer. It seems obvious that I have some sort of issue that is not being detected and the priority for them appears to be saving money rather than getting to the bottom of it. I have made an appointment to see my GP tomorrow and hopefully, she will be able to apply a bit of pressure on them. Hoping the scan tomorrow goes well so we can have our second go on Friday...

Off to choir practice in a bit for a bit of therapeutic belting! Grin

Picklestar · 28/02/2012 10:16

Thanx cave!! For the motherly advice!
Waves to newbies!
I'm off to town today no heels or handbags but bikini bottoms (I've already got a top) ready for holiday next week! :)!

JosieSmith1 · 28/02/2012 09:08

Can I substitute shoes for a handbag? I wear wellies most of the time so high heeled shoes not a good option for me. I do need ideas though - I like to have a treat after my injections but I never have anything planned so I need some ideas of what I can get in stock to cheer me up afterwards. Ideas on a card please... Grin

PricklyPickle · 28/02/2012 07:40

first month of TTC for me and I just got my AF last night, bang on time. Darn it! I really would have liked to be one of those smug women who get up the duff first go.

Right, I'm following you lot's advice getting some highly inappropriate shoes.

raspberrytipple · 28/02/2012 07:29

Morning girls, I'm 11 days past ov and starting to get an urge to poas but am determined to wait. I'm supposed to be doing a two hr exercise class tomorrow! I don't think I'll push myself too hard though, will blame my period :) didn't get to wear my shoes :( gutted but we didn't go out in the end. They will have to wait for summer. Im back on the healthy living now, day 1 yesterday, need to shed a bit of fat as my wobbles have crept back in. We can be diet buddies misschunks! I also caved last night and booked a spray tan. I just cannot face being pasty anymore, I look transparent its so horrible!!

I've got really behind with the news and the newbies lately as mostly been on my phone so skim reading and DH gets cross when I come on the forums now after my melt down a few weeks ago so I have to be sly about! I'll pop back tonight and try and do a proper catch up.

MissChunks · 27/02/2012 23:24

Hi I'm new!

29, got 5 stone or more to lose and TTC.

First month of trying and just came on Sad fiancé also has low sperm count!

Whatever will be, will be!

CaveMum · 27/02/2012 22:42

Pickle, not everyone gets an implantation bleed, so it really is too early to tell. Not what you wanted to hear I know!

Sorry about the BFN Chocolate.

I'm going to put my mother hen hat on for a moment and say two things to everyone:

  1. Step away from the piss sticks! There is no point in testing before at least 12dpo. Regardless of what they say, most pee sticks can only give you an accurate result after at least 14dpo.
  2. Google is your enemy!

As you were Wink

CostumeDramaQueen · 27/02/2012 22:37

Sorry to hear that Choccolate.
This is a thread for me, one week to go until POAS time then it's either box of choccs or big glass of wine depending result, like the heels buying idea too actually

ChocolateWindmill · 27/02/2012 22:12

POAS today even though I want going to and got a BFN :(

have taken a leaf out of raspberry's book and bought some ridiculously high heels to cheer myself up! :)

Picklestar · 27/02/2012 02:25

Hello to all newbies! & good luck to anyone who's soon to be POAS! Hope it's your month!

I don't know what's going on at the mo, my periods seem to be 4-6 weeks apart, 4 weeks has gone (5 weeks this Thur) & yesterday I had a bleed so I thought it must be the start of AF but have not bled since. My boobs are really sore & I have stomach pains. Kinda wish if it is AF then it'll just hurry up & come if not what else could it be? Do people get implantation bleeds? Hate not knowing when my cycles are? Not sure wether or not to POAS but as don't know cycles don't know of this will be accurate! Confused!

CaveMum · 26/02/2012 17:16

nongodess definitely chat to your GP about the malaria tablets. I seem to recall getting a lecture from mine about not ttc a honeymoon baby when we went to Tanzania on safari for our honeymoon. I don't think it takes long to clear the system, but best to be safe than sorry.

Josie how awful about the accident in the yard. I hope she recovers quickly. My boss came of his hunter a few years ago and broke his pelvis and collar bone, and working in racing I've seen some real horror falls, so my heart really goes out to this girl.

fl0b0t · 26/02/2012 17:02

Sorry to hear your news fairy, hope you're back and raring to go again?

Nothing exciting going on here, might be waiting for a referral for some dental work, which means maybe putting off ttc? Not sure. It's not emergency or vital.... so ttc is more fun?!

fl0b0t (was CEDR)

Nongoddess · 26/02/2012 02:30

Not been on for a while and so sorry to hear about fairy's news. Devastating. Hope to hear better news soon. And from you too raspberry and chocolate... sincerely hope it is baby not burger!
Best of luck josie sounds like things are going really positively. And bookaddict good luck too, I like your username.
I'm very torn at present as I've got to go to India on a work trip - they don't know I'm ttc. But so anxious about taking anti-malarial drugs. Anyone on here got experience with malarone? Obv going to have to stop ttc for a while but wondering how long it takes for it to leave your system. Grrr! Will have to ask GP about it anyway but feel so upset about putting things on hold. Anyway, should look on bright side as very exciting to go there. And maybe will take mind off waiting...
Happy weekend everyone.

JosieSmith1 · 25/02/2012 23:41

Welcome McPrice, I too believe that all teachers were liars Grin I'm 2 years in and on my first cycle of IVF. Hang in there, and as others have said, don't put too much pressure on yourself

Raspberry I find that treating yourself to new clothes, new hair, or whatever can really perk you up for a bit. And you just reminded me that my outgoing bills are coming down slightly soon so I will shortly be able to buy myself new clothes, yippee! I think a shopping trip may be in order Grin P.s fingers crossed it's implantation

Chocolate I do not understand how anyone can go off chocolate!! Confused

I'm obviously off the alcohol, not that it really bothers me, but I get a treat every night after my injection, even if it's just a cup of hot chocolate, to cry into Blush. Well, the crying seems to have stopped for now, wait until I have another painful jab then it'll start again! Getting some side effects like weeing loads, cramps, headaches, backache and I'm feeling pretty exhausted, but I had a nice relaxing morning, stayed in bed till 9.30am (with breakfast), then watched tv till about 12, then sat at the yard while someone else did my horse Grin, but then there was a nasty accident and it was all hands on deck. We just found out the poor girl who came off has fractured her spine so we're all praying she's going to make a speedy and full recovery

Anyway, hope all you lovely ladies are having a nice saturday evening

raspberrytipple · 25/02/2012 22:00

Whereas I am in the mood for a mahooosive bar of chocolate. My boobs hurt, I feel knackered and I have a stabby/achy pain to the right hand side of my belly button. Implantation maybe? I'm also farting quite a lot but that is probably more to do with the burger and chips I had at the pub at lunch time.

PricklyPickle · 25/02/2012 21:18

Chocolate you've gone off both wine and chocolate?!

The very thought of that fills me with horror Shock

ChocolateWindmill · 25/02/2012 20:37

fairy I hope you're doing ok. Mentally sending you big hugs and lots of cookies.

cave has your sleeping got any better? If I'm feeling clammy I find a nice cotton nightie helps, even if it's another layer.

raspberry you'll have a couple of months to wear your skinny jeans even if when you get a BFP! Grin and I'm sure you'll just have to learn to walk in killer heels with a bump.

Big hugs to bookaddict AF's a bitch, eh?! :(

Hello to McPrice and mrshiggens

My DH has decided I'm pregnant because I have gone off wine and chocolate, my two favourite things! 4 days till AF is due, I dare not test!

CaveMum · 25/02/2012 18:20

Medical advice is that a "normal" couple (ie healthy, no fertility issues, under 35, etc) will usually conceive within 1-2 years. If you have any underlying issues it will obv take longer.

It might be worth having a chat with your DP and asking him to take a step back. It's easy to get excited I know, but if you put too much pressure on yourself you will find things hard going.
