Great news Karstan Grin

And well one in the new thread evil, I shall head over there now.

evilgiraffe · 18/07/2012 19:44

I thought this might be a good moment to start that new thread too :)

evilgiraffe · 18/07/2012 19:33

Oh, that's fabulous, Karstan! Congratulations!

Karstan · 18/07/2012 18:51

Wasn't sure whether to post here or start a new thread but thought I'd end this one on a high

Got a BFP a little over a week ago Grin
So around 6 weeks now, fingers cross baby due round March.

Early days yet but never had so much as a sniff of a bfp up until this point so I'm cautiously optimistic.

Will probably name change as no need to be quite so incognito now and don't want the link made between new name and my TTC journey.

I'd love to be able to share the secret of my success with you lovely ladies but as I'm sure you're all aware there is no magic wand. Sad Although in my case some birthday sperm played a part!

Oh, and no 2ww symptoms, stopped the meticulous planning sometime ago so wasn't even keeping track so the lack of period arriving was something of a surprise.

Ratata · 16/07/2012 19:56

Ahh can I join you in bitterness? I know we have only been trying 7 months but the missed miscarriage and chemical pregnancy are getting me down. Stupid body needs to learn to stay pregnant.

cavemum the injections and scans don't sound fun but I hope it works for you, I really do.

evilgiraffe hugs. Big big hugs. Sometimes it really is just shit, I know I haven't been trying as long but it sucks and I can only imagine how you are feeling x

evilgiraffe · 16/07/2012 16:58

I think we could perhaps start a sort of FTF/BESH hybrid - most of the regular posters have been here for a year or more, and I for one am getting increasingly bitter! It'd be a shame if this thread died completely though, I'm scared of abandoning it and going over to the established BESH group.

I have my fingers crossed for you, Cave, hopefully all the jabs and scans will (a) work, and (b) not be too hideous.

AF arrived here today, which tips me from trying for two and a half years into MORE THAN two and a half years. It's just shitty, it really is.

CaveMum · 13/07/2012 08:18

Arghh, this thread keeps falling off my active threads!

We need to decide whether we are going to have a new thread soon. I don't think we'll be getting any newbies for the FTF as there seems to be a very active new "TTC first baby", which I am avoiding as it seems to be full of baby dust [boak] [bitter]

As expected, I have been referred on for ovulation induction, which involves daily injections of FSH and lots of internal scans Sad.
I'm on a waiting list to start, so god knows how long it will be before we get going with the treatment. I get 3 cycles before a review and if that fails it is IVF.

Ratata · 10/07/2012 17:05

Sorry that was meant to be 'so hard' not 'no hard

Well I started bleeding today so I guess that's it over. Sucks but I'm glad it should hopefully be over before we go on holiday and can get back down to it.

I read the thread about self insemination (turkey baster method) and was pretty interested. The amount of people who have commented on that thread saying that it worked for them first time. Me and DH are weekend shaggers so I wondered if self insemination during week could up the chances a bit... Just don't know what DH would think! Interested because seems to have a good success rate on th thread!

Ratata · 08/07/2012 17:27

raspberry sorry to hear that, it's no hard not to symptom spot isn't it x

Ratata · 08/07/2012 17:23

Fingers crossed for you this month evilgiraffe I think when you've been TTC for so long that sex may feel like a chore sometimes. X

Cavemum I hope all goes well at the clinic and that you get a plan in place.

fl0b0t I can imagine that was really difficult when someone moans about their bump and you want one of your own! I would be the same.

alwyn bumps do look amazing, I think the whole process is amazing. It will be our days soon I hope.

Feeling a bit sorry for myself. I know I've not been TTC for as long as others here (7 months - wow that feels weird to say...) but I just thought it would be different. No heartbreaking miscarriages. Blah. Still not started bleeding but I don't feel at all pregnant anymore. I did at the time but it's worn off now so still convinced of chem pg. Too many photos of newborn babies on Facebook at the moment as well.

CaveMum · 08/07/2012 11:11

Hi fairy how are you?

fl0b0t, sorry about the insensitive SIL, some people really don't know how good they've got it do they?

I've been lurking on the Grads thread and it looks like we'll have some lovely news from Flick soon, she went in for an induction on Thursday Grin

Fairygodmother1 · 08/07/2012 08:36

Hi Rasperry - sorry I haven't been around in months. How are you?

fl0b0t · 07/07/2012 17:18

Would absolutely love to. She's 5 months pregnant. Has been skinny (not thin, but SKINNY) her whole life and is now complaining. Refuses to have any photos of her bump and she lives abroad so we're missing out on the whole thing. Bah.

alwyn · 07/07/2012 13:00

Tell her to stop being so bloody ungrateful.

I went to visit my v. heavily pregnant friend last weekend for her baby shower. Her bump looked amazing :(

fl0b0t · 07/07/2012 10:52

Minor rant. Having severe babycrack when SIL is whinging about how "disgusting" her bump looks made me cry this week.

CaveMum · 07/07/2012 09:47

evil you really ought to come and join the BESH, we're all a bit mad but we're all in the same boat of having struggled with TTC. Insta-differs are not allowed Grin

Sorry for all the BFNs lovelies, and hope you get an answer either way Ratata.

No news here, currently 6dpo and trying to ignore everything in case I interpret it as a symptom! I've got my appointment with the fertility consultant in Tuesday, so we'll see what the next plan of action is after the Clomid failed.

evilgiraffe · 07/07/2012 08:12

Hugs for Ratata and Raspberry :(

No news here, other than SWI going strong and my temp chart thinks I ovulated a couple of days ago, on which we did SWI, so as a good a chance as any I feel. This is the first cycle where I've felt like sex is a bit of a chore - not too bad seeing as we've been TTC for two and a half years, but it's still a little depressing.

onedayamumihope · 06/07/2012 23:55

Raspberry so sorry to hear your news :( xx

onedayamumihope · 06/07/2012 23:53

thanks both, I'm glad I'm not alone on this, and the fact they announced as a 'suprise' just makes me a bit green around the gills.. I've always been mega supportive of anyone having a baby, but on this occasion I just can't find the strength to be pleased for them. Also unless you're mega rich what kind of life can you give these kids? My Dad has 4 siblings, 7 of them in a 3 bed semi with no education, my dad never wanted that for us and I certainly don't want that for any kids DH and I have. So maybe its not just being green its that I don't really approve of their decision anyway? Tomorrow we are off to see friends who after 2 failed marriages between them, are finally happy and having their first baby (both are in late 30's) and I've spent weeks making and collecting stuff for them and I'm really pleased for them so I don't think I've entered total green gills yet. It has made me realise how much I want kids though, so some good has come from it :) x

raspberrytipple · 06/07/2012 21:43

just tested. BFN :(

I'm going to go mad, now I've had the lap & dye and heard of many people getting pregnant straight after it's got my hopes up again and I symptom spot and stress about it and I'd really managed to get out of the habit of it. Oh well, another babyless month.

raspberrytipple · 06/07/2012 18:57

Hi Ladies!
Ratata sorry to hear your news. Bigs hugs :( Hope both you and DH are looking after each other xx

Oneday you are completely within your rights to think your friend is greedy. If I ever manage to have one baby let alone two, I dont think I would even ever want 4! Some people are crazy :/

Not much news with me, ERTD is due tomorrow, I've had heartburn all week but I have been eating quite a lot of rubbishy food this week so I'm putting it down to that. However, I have been a bit emotional and tired but I could also put that down to the fact that I am stressed and have had a couple of late nights this week too. I'm trying not to symptom spot but its hard. I know this thread has been going since Christmas but I was really hoping this is the one I might get pg on but I'm hopeful! Not feeling very bouncy at the moment at all! Haven't had any pg announcements recently but I have started telling people that we are hoping to have IVF next year. It saves me having to have 'those' awkward conversations!

OP posts:
Ratata · 06/07/2012 16:30

God no one should read my post, just having a down day!

Ratata · 06/07/2012 16:29

That IS greedy! Grin I'm all about hating pregnant people at the moment though. I'm bitter just now. Did a First Response this morning and it was BFN but I'm still not bleeding. I assume chemical pregnancy still but wish I knew for sure! Went to supermarket yesterday and there were too many pregnant people. Was difficult. You just start wondering, what's wrong with me? Totally don't believe in karma now. Why do nice people like ourselves have so many problems?

onedayamumihope · 05/07/2012 21:51

hello, its been a while, but felt I need to vent some frustration, one of my friends just announced she's PG with her 4th child. Am I terrible for thinking that just seems greedy?

Ratata · 04/07/2012 17:46

Thanks both. Things aren't feeling too good. DH is gutted, he's coming home and making me dinner (normally I'm the cook and he deals with the dishes!). Hope everyone else has a luckier month than me Smile
