TTC after miscarriage - A New Start to a New Year x x x

Ok ladies, here we go a nice new thread for us to share our fears and smiles on.

Lets keep smiling and positive, and make sure that this is a Happy year for everyone.

Life is far too short to waste, and after such a rough year for most of us last year, lets make 2006 an extra special one x x x

G4P - I am sorry I didn't answer you original question, but I don't have any information on post-laparoscopy problems. However, somebody asked if I had any info on temp taking and discharge, or at least thats how I understood it. So I did a little research on the temp subject. Sorry if I seemed a bit ignorant

HC - My 2 1/2 yr old DS has just ditched the nappies by himself!! Tuesday before Xmas he just took his nappy off and said "no more nappy Mummy", and that was that. He has been as good as gold since with only a couple of minor accidents. I think you can only do it when little one is ready, there is no point pushing them into it. If DD is showing signs such as complaining when nappy is dirty, or telling you she has done a wee, or having a dry nappy for a long time, then she is ready. Communications is very important too, and as long as she can tell you she needs a wee or what ever then she will get on fine.

So if she seems ready then good luck. And I do agree with Diddle - in at the deep end. Once you decide you are going to go for it, then just ditch the nappies and go straight to knickers, and stick with it for a few days. If after 2 or 3 days she is having a lot of accidents or isn't telling you when she wants to go to the loo, then go back to nappies and try again at a later date.

Humphreyscorner - potty training advice coming up!!

I trained 2, 2 1/2 yr olds at the same time earlier last year. I literally threw them in at the deep end. We went wihtout nappies every single day, all day. well all the time they were with me. I know the parenst found ti very hard not to put a nappy on, and sometimes for an easy life they did put one on.
But i found taking them off for good was the best way for them, I made them sit on the potty every 20 minutes. we'd read a book, or when we watched tv they sat on it, and it worked.
Of course some people suggest doing it gradually, but i felt that may take much longer.
I kept their nappies off when we did the school runs, went to soft play etc, and if they had an accident then we cleaned it up as soon as possible but if they were in wet clothes for 5 minutes then they learnt to hate it and not to do it again.
You'll be fine, take the plunge and be prepared to have the potty chained to your hip at all times. I used to take the potty if we were out for long, but if we ust went to school then i didn't, because they wouldn't have ti with them once they were trained.

you lot have had me in stitches with all your talk of temping.

I ahve to remind you all though, don't put too much pressure on yourselves. The less stress the better. I remember after 3 months of trying and failing i wa sgetting very annoyed, and even just making sure we BD on the right days was tressful enough, enjoy it and stay calm. When the time is right, then it will happen x x x

Ah, a nice new thread. Was going to suggest that.

Have collected DD, have seriously curbed the car as I wondered why I couldn't see the left hand side of the road-my headlight had gone of course! Don't like the car anyway

Need to consider tea-hoping DH & DD will accept beans on toast. Fingers crossed eh?

Yum, sounds delish G4P!! I've done very well again today, toast for brekkie, Tesco health eating chicken sarnie for lunch, and a sainsbury's be good to yourself sweet and sour chicken meal tonigh (DH and DS's had pizza so I had a quick easy tea). I did allow myself a littel box of smarties for a treat earlier - I deserved it and I was celebrating a good result from my scan!

well, im doing an easy tea tonite, marinated chicken breasts, grilled in george forman and virtually fat free chips lol (who am i kidding) with peas and gravy.

Just thinking about your tempuature taking and OVing questions, I found this link Taking your temp to predict ovulation isn't very precise and is a bit pointless as your temp rises after OVing. Also, the raise in BBT (Basal body Temp) is so slight that the minutest of movements can affect the reading. If you s happen to move a bit more just before you wake, your reading could be wrong. Tests doen on BBT to predict OV are done under strct conditions and not by women in their normal lives. You would be better of getting some OPKs.
Hope that is of some help.

Regarding where you stick the thermometer - well, that depends on what "floats your boat"!!!!!

Well, I've had my scan......

My uterus is clear and there are no retained products. The odd bleeding doesn't seem to have anything to do with my previous definate MC. If I did MC last month then it is complete aswell. So uterus is good.
My ovaries are fine too. Nice and round, cyst free.............

........except for a big fat juicy folicle just ready to pop and produce a nice little egg!!! Guess what I will be doing this weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And yes all this mention of vaginas and discharge, and at tea time too!!! Well, I say!

bye nikki and yes since op am tempted to buy ov kits, ferning microscopes and any other diagnostic tool, but then again y field of work is of the diagnostic nature. So perhaps the upheaval has just made it come to the surface
