Sometimes I wonder why we need to have children at all, when we have husbands to look after stasi!

I don't normally go in for 'he can't look after himself' type whinges about my husband, but I have spent the whole week trying to get him to go to the doctor about his cough (not being melodramatic, he did spent a month in intensive care 2 years ago, and hasn't had a cough since). I finally nagged him into submission this morning, he talked to a doc on the phone and has been sent home from work. For goodness sake. He's nearly 50. He negotiates international contracts with NATO (only about their paperclips, nothing exciting). I'm trying to think of another measure on which he is clearly a grown up. Grrr.

Rant over. Off to Faculty Forum.

My DH came to the hospital with me, then got embarrassed when I told the nurse we had a SA to drop off, and where did we need to be! I dropped him off at work afterwards, which only made me a little late... I'm very glad it's done though, so it was worth it. Next week I'll have to nag him to phone up and get the results, but that should be easier.

NinjaChipmunk · 07/12/2011 12:14

maybe I have just read you are full of wind, you do remember that was my very first sympton and I parped for weeks?

farfallarocks · 07/12/2011 12:08

Ok ok fair enough, what day are you on and when is/was AF due?

possiblemaybebaby · 07/12/2011 12:03

I am not tempting fate, as normally when ones PIACR, AF rears her ugly head.

farfallarocks · 07/12/2011 12:01

maybe stop changing the subject and pee on that damn stick ok??

possiblemaybebaby · 07/12/2011 11:56

Mine is exactly the same Pop I feel like his PA Xmas Grin

PopcornMouse · 07/12/2011 11:41

(that possibly sounds a bit big-headed but is, in fact, entirely truthful :o )

PopcornMouse · 07/12/2011 11:40

Goodness, maybe, DH couldn't organise his way out of a cardboard box without my help, never mind getting something time-sensitive to the hospital :o

possiblemaybebaby · 07/12/2011 11:37

Stasi you are a prime example of an amazing wife. Can you imagine our DHs doing that for us? [frgin]

PopcornMouse · 07/12/2011 11:36

Wow, that's dedication, stasi! :o

PopcornMouse · 07/12/2011 11:35

*severe. Doh!

Stasi · 07/12/2011 11:34

Morning everyone. This is going to be a quick post as I've got lots of work to get done.

Maybe ooh, raised temperatures are a good sign, I feel more positive for you every day. Do you really intend on making us all wait till the weekend?

Smegs and Whim I hope the illnesses in the household clear up soon. DH and I have been lucky this year and neither has had a cold at all. I got my flu jab done yesterday also, so hope to be nice and healthy into the new year.

Imps I hope your back gets better soon. I've had a back-ache for about 3 weeks now. No idea what caused it, it started out aching just a bit, then got worse, and has now just stayed the same. I'm the opposite of you though, I'm ok standing up straight, but leaning over hurts. It's a weird pain, like a general ache rather than a particular muscle.

So, nothing much to report from me, I'm some number of days DPO, no real symptoms, though quite a lot of CM. However, we did manage to do DH's SA this morning! I had to drive the sample to the hospital, so put the pot in my tights above my waistband, then tucked my t-shirt in over it, jumper on and coat. Hopefully it stayed warm enough, it was very cold outside.

PopcornMouse · 07/12/2011 11:34

Imps my SIL was quite like that - she was lucky I luff her lots :o
(she also has sever pfb-itis and she knows it :o her DP has the patience of a saint!)

possiblemaybebaby · 07/12/2011 11:28

Xmas Grin Imps that made me chuckle!

Your poor back! What have you done? I think ducks do waddle walk like thism yes. I would suggest you get your OH to give you a back massage, but if he is anything like mine, he won't!

Imps7 · 07/12/2011 11:20

Ow ow ow somehow I have aggravated my lower back pain and am walking around like a duck (sticking bottom out, leaning slightly forward as cannot stand up right. Do ducks walk like this? Possibly). Ooooh I hope it clears up for next week - I have a busy week of prep for the Christmas lunch we're having on Saturday - a bad back will not help at all.

It's always exciting when new babies arrive, particularly those of close friends as it means they'll be a big part of mine and OH's lives. However, I did get a little narked this morning with a friend on good ol' FB - she's pregnant with her second and we have been treated to daily winges about how awful pregnancy is - today's trauma is that she has outgrown some of her maternity wear Xmas Sad (she really did put a sad face!). She's a lovely friend but does suffer a lot touch of I'm-the-only-person-to-have-ever-been-pregnantitis. Luckily her tot is due in early Jan so fingers crossed the moaning will be over soon!

PopcornMouse · 07/12/2011 11:04

Loving gitweasel Imps Xmas Grin

Glad your neck is feeling better pop

Can't remember what else everyone said. Back in a minute.

Imps7 · 07/12/2011 10:08

Oh, Scrambled - I tried to call OH an ignorant gitwizard last night (just for fun, like) and it came out "ignorant gitweasel" which tbh I also rather like.

Whim the faculty forum sounds awesome - if you sold tickets to members of the public I'm sure it would be a sell-out!

whimsicalname · 07/12/2011 10:00

Hello everyone
Welcome home far if I haven't said so already.

Great knitting maybe and bean. I've just started the shawl pattern you sent me maybe. Well, I started it, knitted up to where you start the tricky bit, and realised I'd done it all wrong, so I've unpicked it and started again.

The whimsical household has been entirely befuddled with illness, so that I was forced (for the third and fourth time this year) to drive into work yesterday and today, rather than cycle. I'm storing up the term 'ignorant gitwizard' for next week when I'm back on my bike. Was that you smegs? genius!

In addition to illness, AF has been and is on her way off, and in the meantime, 2 more friends have popped out beautiful babies and made me sad. And then I feel guilty and bad friendy and bad mothery, as I should just be loving the boys I've got and not hankering for more.

Still, onwards and upwards. It's 'faculty forum' in an hour: 2 hours of people listening, nodding and clapping the dean, followed by curly edged sandwiches munched in cabals of muttering and slagging him off. What fun.

ScrambledSmegs · 07/12/2011 09:52

Gah! I mean 7DPO. So tired I'll forget me knickers next.
