AF just arrived :( not really suprised tho as DHs little swimmers got stage fright on the day i ov'd Xmas Blush.

Oh well at least i can have a drink at christmas without feeling guilty :) and have some baby making fun christmas night when i'm due to ov. Not gonna tell DH this time where i'm up to with my cycle as i don't think he likes the 'pressure' of SWI.

FC for everyone else who is still waiting x

LauraM20 · 12/12/2011 12:45

The waiting is the worst!! AF is due on wed but I don't think I can wait so I'm going to get a test to do tommorow morning. I've got my fingers crossed as this seems to be a lucky thread!! Congratulations to al the ladies with a big BFP!! X

mrsmellow · 12/12/2011 09:39

Morning all - congrats practicallyimperfect
I cracked and POAS at CD35 yesterday - BFN. Still no AF, who knows when she'll turn up... Will wait another week before trying again. I really hate not knowing what is going on!!
The irony is that we weren't going to start TTC until January, but I started reading these type of threads in July and freaked out because I've been on the pill forever, so we decided to come off then as I assumed it would take some time for my ovaries to regulate.. and now that it is taking time to regulate I'm really annoyed, disappointed and frustrated... Ridiculous! I should be grateful that we came off early - glass half full attitude Smile

Squirrel77 · 12/12/2011 09:05

Good luck piggyboo

MrsC - I'll probably be testing on Xmas morning - but STILL haven't ovulated which puts AF's due date now to 28 December - in the middle of a 30-hour flight to the other side of the world, yippee. Now that would be a funny time to POAS! Grin

How is everyone else doing?

Whysoserious · 12/12/2011 08:00

FX for you piggyboo Smile

D day today, AF is due to visit (DPO 14), got a bfn dpo 12 so a bit reluctant to test today. Also can't use FMU as i was working all night so will have to wait til later today by which point AF may have arrived :(

Oh well i'm off to bed soon, gonna resist POAS temptation this am and wait til this evening or tomorrow. I officially hate this 2ww malarky!!

OptiMumPrime · 11/12/2011 18:34

If AF hasn't arrived, we'll test on the 25th, would be an awesome present, but sad if it's a no.

TheNewMrsC · 11/12/2011 18:26

Yeah squirrel it is so annoying !! DH thought he was gona love all the trying too - sex every night clearly isn't as great as he thought it would be !! Haha !!

I was thinking seeing as it is christmas all of us who are due af on or right before 25th should all decide to test Christmas morning . Who is with me ?? Smile

Squirrel77 · 11/12/2011 12:42

Hi all,

Hunny I have tried the OPKs but they are not working al that well for me either. I can't got 4 hours without drinking or peeing like you are supposed to! I'll continue to use the rest of mine but won't get them again. I prefer temperature charting and checking the mucus.

MrsC I know how you feel! I feel disappointed when DH isn't up to DTD according to my rigid schedule! I just don't think either of us are up for DTD every night, and DTD when you are not in the mood is not good for the relationship I think. Also, my ovulation still hasn't come yet (according to my chart) so we have been wearing ourselves out for no reason. He's starting a new job tomorrow with a huge commute so I don't like our chances for getting it on tomorrow night - so frustrating isn't it!!

TheNewMrsC · 11/12/2011 11:47

hunny I was using ovulation tests last cycle and the leaflet said when you get a +ve reading you will ovulate sometime in that 24 period , however , I never once got a +ve reading so don't know how reliable they are Hmm I doubt I will ever use them again tbh . Sorry don't think that was much help there to you ! X

MistressofPemberley · 11/12/2011 08:09

Hi all. Still another week to go before any testing can be done. Hard to keep my mind off it really. I feel like I've been here so many times that every symptom must be ignored, as sometimes my PMT and pregnancy symptoms are indistinguishable.

Not sure if we timed it right either, but the abundance of EWCM should have meant that the swimmers had the best chance of surviving for the alleged 6 days.

Congrats to all BFPs Grin

redrhumba · 10/12/2011 15:54

spuddybean LOL at the head stand, i feel undignified enough with my legs in the air!!

practicallyimperfect congratulations, sounds like this is a lucky bus.

thenewmrsc i think you will have dtd enough as i think sperm can survive for 3-5days but someone else may know more accurately. fc for you.

thanks for the welcome x

Stuntnun · 10/12/2011 15:40

Can I join too? I just bought a BBT thermometer and 50 ovulation tests! I hope DH doesn't think I've gone a bit overboard but at 35 years old I'm worried this might take a while.

TheNewMrsC · 10/12/2011 15:25

Hi ladies welcome newbies and congratulations BFPs !!!!

Need a bit if reassurance ladies . Dtd mon-thurs but last night when DH and I tried DH was complaining he was sore so we stopped for a rest (cos we both have crazy shift patterns we r a once a week kinda couple lol) but fell asleep Blush . I think I may have ovd yesterday and we won't have the opportunity to dtd today due to work so I am hoping all the SWI during the week is enough . What u think girls I feel so disappointed we didn't do it last night. If we manage to do it during the night tonight think that will make up for it ?

Omg I have just realised how pathetically obsessed and neurotic I am !!!Confused

Elizadoesdolittle · 10/12/2011 15:09

Wow practicallyimperfect, what a fab early xmas present. Many congratulations. This is a lucky bus!

Welcome newcomers. Hope that all this baby dust that's being banded around will rub off on all of us.

practicallyimperfect · 10/12/2011 14:57

I did a boots digi and it says pregnant!

practicallyimperfect · 10/12/2011 13:44

Ok, I am due on Monday but couldn't resist. So I have a had a feint cross on a sainsbury's test and another cheapy. Husband says a feint line is still a line.

I am very tempted to get a digital. Will a clearly work two days early. I know I should wait, just not sure if I can.

Whysoserious · 10/12/2011 09:32

maccy HUGE congrats on the BFP!! Grin

Hi ladies i think it's about time i hopped on board!
We're ttc our second, we have a 2.5 year old ds and its taken me an age to convince dh to have another. anyway this is my first cycle and i'm expecting af around the 18th. i'm not long off the pill and last time i was eventually a 30day cycle so have worked on that.
Good luck to everyone x

Spuddybean · 10/12/2011 01:53

helloooo ladies

can i join you? AF due xmas day (how shit!) been away from these threads for a while as i got too disappointed!

But i'm ready to start trying again.

DP and i have done it every other day since day 5. if been eating manuka honey and done a headstand after every shag - what could fail!!??

xxhunnyxx · 09/12/2011 23:10

dame aww wish my OH was so supportive. He's so laid back with everything in life, I on the other hand am not.
Once I've decided I want something, I go out and get it, unfortunately pregnancy isn't something I can buy online. He takes a much more laid back attitude of 'it'll happen when it happens'.
I should really take a leaf out of his book and chill out about it more but it's easier said than done, after all we're the ones looking for signs and analysing every twinge.
Last time I had trouble TTC I saw GP and she told me to stop trying, and she was right, as soon as we genuinely stopped trying I got pregnant.

dameflamingo · 09/12/2011 23:04

Welcome newcomers!

Updating my stats as AF arrived today (50 days this cycle!) so I am happily moving to cycle 9 ..bring it on!! Xmas Smile

squirrel advice from the experts is sex every other day so you can happily hold off until morning without any worries.

Speaking as a person who has been trying for a while I can tell you that once I started letting my DH know about my madness concern about making sure we dtd at the right time it became more of a joint venture and I felt a lot less like I was working alone. He now keeps a log of dates and has just started updating my charts on his Ipad ( boys love apps and science it appears).

xxhunnyxx · 09/12/2011 21:53

Can I just ask a question about opk's please?
Am I correct in thinking that they show after you have ovulated? My cycles are pretty regular and I think I'm pretty good at spotting the signs so not sure if there's any point in me using them?

frazzled74 · 09/12/2011 21:48

hi can i join you? and can i ask anyone who uses cheapie ebay opk, i got 2 red lines yesterday and today, both as dark as each other, is this right? i thought they were only both dark for a fleeting couple of hours?

xxhunnyxx · 09/12/2011 21:41

maccy congrats!!! It's very encouraging and exciting to see a BFP!

squirrel I wouldn't worry too much about doing it on the day of ovulation, I know when I conceived DS it was 2-3 days before ovulation, those little guys can have quite a bit of stamina! Plus the experts reckon it's better to do it alternate days rather than every day so the sperms are stronger, it's more about quality than quantity.

Well I don't think I'm up the duff this month, I'm now 10 dpo and no implantation cramps like I had with previous 2 pregnancies Sad

Can I be added to the list please?
TTC#2, cycle 1, AF due 13/14 DEC

Is it really bad of me that I'm hoping I am preggers this month so baby will be born August and therefore I would save a years worth of nursery/child minder fees? lol
I wouldn't have even thought about it before having DS1 but now I'm a woman speaking from experience
