Snoopy when I conceived this time I'd just had a hot stone massage (a birthday gift) around the time of ovulation, so was much more relaxed than I normally am!

snoopygirl · 28/11/2011 09:51

Thanks for your messages all. It's funny when I conceived son I was in France stuffing face with wine cheese etc. It def must be to do with being bit more chilled out. Well good month coming up as off to Florida for Christmas on Dec 14th so can't wait and something to look forward to apart from manically poas.

scooter praying all ok for you .x

lemonsherbert nice to hear from you again. Dr S didn't even mention my age (42) once which was a change. He is very positive and makes you feel good about having a definite plan for once. Good luck with your appointment let us know how it goes. x

lemonsherbet · 28/11/2011 09:38

Arian I have been on here a little bit. I am waiting for my first appointment with MrS. I am due to see him at the end of this week. I have had mmc at 8weeks, mmc at 20 week and "natural" miscarriage at 6 weeks. Got told by my GP that a RMC would not do anything in addition to what was done with the 20 week loss. Since all the tests came back normal at that stage and I got started on aspirin for the next pregnancy, just in case. I felt that time was going against me and I needed to see someone who was an expert. I came on the board at that stage to ask what people thought of Mr S and the reviews from the board was good. Just spent the past month waiting to see him and am desperately hoping he can help. Keep being told it is just bad luck/my age. Although I am 35 I do not think my eggs can be that bad. Hopefully I will be able to join your list soon

Sorry for the long rant. scooter still thinking of you. Hope that EPAU can see you quickly.

Arianrhod · 28/11/2011 09:09

Morning ladies .. my we've been busy over the weekend!

scooter so sorry you're having a scare but as iggi says it doesn't have to mean anything bad. Get yourself to your EPU straightaway, if you have red bleeding they should see you straightaway. Virtual hugs and hope everything's ok.

lemonsherbet welcome and come on in, delurk if you feel like it and tell us a little about yourself?

brownie lots of good luck for your scan today!

iggi well I missed the conversations over the weekend so you already know all the answers :) but I've read many many people saying don't even bother to try using a doppler before at least 16 weeks as it's very hit and miss even then. The fact that you've picked anything up is pretty amazing, but don't panic at this stage if you can't hear anything.

free I'm sure you've sorted your problemette by now but just in case it helps, I've read that steroids can trigger UTIs. I'm horribly prone to these myself, and read up a lot on what can cause them over the past couple of years. A simple test at your GP will find the cause, and then treatment is very straightforward.

snoopy sorry for the BFN but as the others have said, at least you can relax and enjoy yourself without the worry about "what if I'm pregnant" ... it's a good time of year not to have that particular stress, I think! :) A New Year pregnancy has a good vibe to it, too :)

choccy how are you doing now?

/waves to everyone, here's to a happy and stress-free week!

scooterchaser · 28/11/2011 09:04

Waiting for a call from EPU. It just happened when I woke up and more darker red since I walked to the doctor this morning. I have mild cramping too, can't see how this will turn out well.

iggi999 · 28/11/2011 08:24

Oh Scooter, how scary for you but it doesn't have to mean what you're thinking.. Did it happen when you went to the loo? Is there somewhere locally to contact for reassurance, eg an EPU?
Any pain?

lemonsherbet · 28/11/2011 08:23

scooter am a lurker here. Can you contact your GP and be seen by EPAU. It does not mean it is over, I know lots of people who have bleed in their pregnancy and gone on to have a healthy baby. The colour does not matter, in my cases it has been brown and not red. I know it is hard to believe it is not a miscarriage when we have been through so much. My fingers are crossed for you. Will be on here a little longer if you are about. A big hug to you.

scooterchaser · 28/11/2011 07:55

Don't believe it, made it to 9 weeks and woke up to bleeding, it's red. Feeling terrified and don't know what to do now.

Stogan · 28/11/2011 07:11

Morning girls, just wanted to wish everyone a nice week, good luck with scans and appts. Etc Grin

I'm at the midwife at 10 to see about these blooming itchy feet and my suspected carpal tunnel syndrome ( nothings ever easy with me ha ha )

Dreading work today, now that I've only got 4 weeks left ud think it would be easier but it's getting harder and harder to force myself into the place, my attitude is terrible SadSad xx

suemays · 28/11/2011 00:43

Brownie good luck for the scan tomorrow, I bet everything is OK!

Scooter I know in my first pregnancy that the docs said it was fine so long as it wasn't too rigorous! I had to laugh when she said that. If you have any spotting afterwards then stop and don't try again. I personally avoided it until after 12 weeks as I knew I would blame myself if anything went wrong. You can still 'pleasure' DH in other ways! Cant believe I am telling a complete stranger that!

Coconut good luck on the flat, it wont really be a problem with the 2 kids with one being a baby as they will be in your room anyway so dont stress too much yet. Friends of ours were in the same situation so rented their one bed flat and then rented out a bigger place for them so that could be an option?

Iggi good luck with the midwife tomorrow.

Waves to everyone else!

scooterchaser · 27/11/2011 21:41

iggi glad u picked up something on the Doppler again and the spotting seems to have an explanation. The fear can take hold so quickly can't it and can turn a day into a nightmare. Know the feeling so well. I hope you are feeling a bit more relaxed now and that you will be able to talk to a midwife about it tomorrow to reassure you.

brownie rooting for you for a good scan tomorrow! Hope you're having a lovely snuggly evening and keeping distracted, pre-scan jitters are no fun!

snoopy sorry for the BFN, have a few drinks and some fabulous runny cheese or maybe a whole bowl of cake mixture and a delicious big full caffeine hitting coffee and give yourself a break from all thoughts pred/preg for a couple of weeks. Sounds like a bit of indulgence is good at bringing on the BFPs.

coconut with all the work you've been doing you're bound to be inundated with offers on your flat. Stand by!

free and stogan you mentioned s with no i. I have been wanting to ask about this for ages but kept chickening out - is there an official stance on this for early weeks? We carried on as normal to start with, but I started freaking out at 6 weeks and stopped since then. DH home tomorow after about 2wks apart so I think the issue may arise (pardon the pun). Just hoping someone had been told by someone official either it's fine and healthy and can't possibly affect anything or that recurrent buns like ourselves should avoid maybe until 12 weeks just in case?? I have heard both schools of thought but just wanted to check what others have been told by their various GPs, MW's etc? Anyone asked Dr S?

digitalgirl · 27/11/2011 21:37

The decluttering continues...
Free to a good home: Two unopened packs of pregnacare conception and a single Boots pregnancy test (from a pack of two).

Coconutfeet · 27/11/2011 21:25

Iggi ? Sorry to hear you?re going through this. It sounds like you?ve got piles and they?re bleeding (bitter experience emoticon). I think it would be worth trying to get a scan tomorrow to reassure you. The others are right ? using the doppler can be tricky this early on if the baby isn?t in the right place. I feel for you.

Sorry to hear about the BFN Snoopy. Hope you?ve been doing something nice to take your mind off it. Hopefully you?ll be able to have a relaxed Christmas (and a few drinks!) before a fresh start in the new year. Like Digi ? I drank quite a lot in my bfp cycle. We were on holiday and I was having several glasses of wine a day and got the bfp the day after we arrived home.

Brownie ? Good luck tomorrow!!

Well flat is going on the market tomorrow so we await the deluge of offers (Hmm). I spent the morning clearing the garden/weeding and now have a really achy bum and can?t bend over properly. Feeling a bit panicky that we won?t get a buyer or find something that we like and we?ll still be stuck in a one-bedroom place with 2 kids?.

batteryhen · 27/11/2011 20:22

Oh - can pg ladies check the list - I haven't moved anyone on, so may need to be altered x

batteryhen · 27/11/2011 20:20

snoopy - sorry it's a bfn this time, take a couple of days to be miserable, then get focused on the next OV xx I really hate testing just to get a bfn, it's crap.
iggi How are you today? I agree with what the others say - don't stress about the hb, chances are baby is just shy! xx
brownie Good luck with your scan tomorrow, i am sure it will be good news xx

Well I have ovulated yesterday so I am now officially on the 2ww. Which I hate - 2 weeks full of hope only to be shot down at the end of it.

Big waves to everyone else xx will up date the list now xx

iggi999 · 27/11/2011 20:14

Hello, thank you for the good wishes. Had to wait till got home from in-laws, but then rushed back to the doppler. I heard something still not entirely convinced it was the hb but am pretty sure it was the same sound I'd heard on Friday, iyswim (not worried if I just couldn't hear anything on doppler, but worried that what I had heard had gone away). PLUS, I had a bm (love the stuff I get to tell you guys!) recently and there was another bit of blood, def from the "back entrance" so maybe was earlier too?
It's in the nature of this journey we are on that we have to go through about a million potential (or real) disasters along the way.
So glad I can post here about it, couldn't even tell dh about the blood as he'd freak out worse than me.

BrownieGecko · 27/11/2011 19:31

Hi Iggi - So sorry to hear this is happening. I think to give you peace of mind you should definitely call the midwife/hospital tomorrow morning to see if they can offer you another scan maybe. Try not to panic, from what I have been reading around 13 weeks there is lots moving around so maybe it is some old blood being shifted. Thinking of you

Snoopy so sorry to hear it is a BFN this month. Stay strong and don't be disheartened.

Free my wee was cloudy early on and then cleared up. I didn't have an infection so maybe it was the streroids. Still worth checking though. It is so difficult to not symptom check. I still press my boobs every morning in the hope they hurt and also feel relief when I get twinges and feel sick.

I have still managed to persuade myself that things are wrong and tomorrow's scan is going to be awful, it is impossible for us to feel any differently until told otherwise. I couldn't even bring myself to buy maternity clothes this week, I went in the shop and the lady was all smiley and chatty saying in a loud voice "Congratulations, you must be so excited". So I picked up a maternity band, didn't try anything on and left like speedy Gonzales :)

Have a good evening everyone, planning to sit by roaring fire, snuggle up with duvet and watch mindless TV so we can try and stop stressing about tomorrow. x

suemays · 27/11/2011 19:01

Iggi is it brown or red as I know red is new blood and brown is old? It is common to spot in pregnancy so try not to get too worried. If it's brown it could be bits that are still left behind. My midwife told me in my first pregnancy not to use dopplers as it can make you paranoid if you dont find a heartbeat. Its really common not to find one or to lose one suddenly. I know that babies dont like them either so move away from them once you use them.

Digi what is the chinese egg hatching potion as I have never heard of it??? If it helps I wouldn't mind trying it so thanks for offering.

Snoopy you still could be pregnant as it's early days yet, so don't give up hope. It still might be too early to test. I also had preg symptoms in my 2ww on the steroids which gave me false hope - had sore boobs, heartburn, tiredness and nausea (dont ever get any of them normally).

Free you should get it checked out as might have picked up an infection if your wee is a funny colour. Have you been drinking enough fluid? The steroids can make your wee smell apparently so maybe it can make it cloudy too?

We didnt meet up yesterday due to my cold - I think that is what has affected my OV this month. According to fertiltyfriend I ov'd on Wed but neither the CBFM or OPKs have picked up positives! I am calling Louise tomorrow to see what she recommends regarding taking the steroids. I think I had some EWCM on wed but it could have been 'left overs' from SWI the night before (sorry TMI!)

duggs1976 · 27/11/2011 15:24

Hi digi we didn't meet in the end as sue had bad cold so going to reschedule.

We're still on for 6 dec next Tuesday! Will speak to free and send details later this week.

Grin
freelancegirl · 27/11/2011 14:21

Iggi how are you feeling this afternoon? Any better? I think pregnancy is bound to narurally come with the occasional bit of spotting or goo. When you think of everything that is happening up there. The others are right re the Doppler too. It is still very early days. Digi didn't you too have a bit if spotting after s with no i? I actually got some s with no i out of the way this weekend too. I think it's all something we all find nerve-racking. But I was also thinking that from an immune pov it might be a good thing to continue doing!

I noticed I had some urethra twinges last night so peed in a glass and it is definitely cloudy. I guess I will have to go to gp. This has happened to me in both previous pregnancies of the year so I worry it is not a good sign. Plenty of random stretchy feelings in the last couple of days though. Which one of you said it would be worth us backing away from the symptom / non symptom spotting? You were right!

Sorry about the bfn snoops. Keep testing just in case though.

Am in a coffee shop in Brighton, it's gorgeous here today and the streets are buzzing. Hope you all having a good day xx

Stogan · 27/11/2011 12:22

Iggi please don't read to much into not hearing the hb, I have only just started to be able to hear it through mine for the last week or so and I'm 25 weeks and even then it's not always there as it's very hard to find, try to listen out for the little jumps and hiccups instead at your stage. try not to panic but if you are concerned, that together with any red should warrant you being able to have a scan surely? I would contact your MW tomorrow, I'm sure everything is fine but this pregnancy is so precious to you so it is their duty to look after your wishes xxx
Well sorry if TMI but I finally gave in to my sexually frustrated self last night and DH and I had sex twice !!! OMG first time since we got a BFP, it felt like our first time !!!! Then DH says what if u get pg again, now I did laugh at him but have since thought, this isn't possible at my stage is it??? I no ur all probably laughing at me but I was genuinely worried !!! Had a little bit of spotting afterwards but I guess anyone, even if not PG would spot after not having sex for 6 months !!!!BlushBlush

digitalgirl · 27/11/2011 11:47

Which reminds me - how was the meetup yesterday? Was it comedy, sue & duggs?

digitalgirl · 27/11/2011 11:46

Xposts with duggs who speaks very wise words.

digitalgirl · 27/11/2011 11:44

iggi I'm so sorry you're having this worry. If you're bleeding and you're worried about hb you're well within your rights to either head down to a&e or call your mw who should be able to book you in for a scan/monitoring tomorrow. The bleeding is most likely nothing to worry about - possibly cervical irritation - have you had sex recently? Or been constipated? Apologies for tmi - but both those things can cause spotting.
The Hb thing is most likely because baby is so little and there's still quite a bit of room for them to swim about so they keep dodging the Doppler. Most mw's don't do the first Doppler check till 15/16 weeks - and even then it can take ages for them to find it.
Sending you lots of hugs. Don't torment yourself with what ifs - please try and get someone to check you over.

snoopy sorry to hear it's another bfn. Hopefully this next cycle will be the one - would make a lovely Christmas present. I did plenty of drinking and celebrating in my bfp cycle - was at a Sten (stag/hen) do at 6dpo which involved running around like a loon for two hours playing party games. Then a wine tasting session. Then champers and Brie.

Major excitement in the digi household - we have a new tv. Despite working in tv for the past 15 years we've only just upgraded from cathode ray tube to LED flatscreen. Managed to convince dh that the extra space is much needed.

duggs1976 · 27/11/2011 11:30

iggi at your stage if the baby is in the "wrong" position you won't hear it. When was last scan - surely a week or so ago. In 2nd trimester it will take a lot longer for blood if baby in trouble. With my 2nd mc I found out hour Heart had stopped - even 1 week later there was no bleeding or signs then I had Erpc. So v v v unlikely the bit of blood is anything bad. You r kind of in the discover at scan stage now. Downside of having a Doppler( I know I've one in box under my bed) but wish I was of the nature not to have one . Great for extra reassurance - hideous if baby moves. X
