Yeah I did s without i yesterday so I do hope that's it, but am not feeling confident. I wont be dping it again if this turns out to be just a scare. Ive never had just a scare of course hence the lack of pma. And yes, am using the visitors entrance! Maybe I should try the trade... I feel so bloody queasy and tired today too.

On the plus side I've discovered a great little treatment place and cafe in Greenwich Millenium village. Pretty sure none of you are local but it's all organic and Ayurvedic and really good prices.

OP posts:
Arianrhod · 28/11/2011 13:59

Grin That was my thought exactly digi, you gotta try to laugh or else go completely stark staring bonkers. Of course, I may be there already, it's a moot point.

Arianrhod · 28/11/2011 13:58

And I should add on the earlier discussion, there's no S with or without I going on in the Ari household for at least the next 7 weeks, I can tell you! I was told at the start of my last pg that it wouldn't cause any problems, but I had a small amount of bleeding the couple of times we DTD during the early weeks of my first pg a year ago and it terrified me, so I'm afraid until either we get past the 12 week stage or I MC again we ain't doing nuthin' like that! Poor OH :)

digitalgirl · 28/11/2011 13:57

I know I shouldn't but am lol-ing at tradesman's and visitor's entrance! Gotta larf or you'll cry, right?

Arianrhod · 28/11/2011 13:54

free Sorry to hear you're seeing a bit of spotting too, this early pg lark is just bldy rubbish, isn't it? A thought though - you say you've seen it in the "fall out" from the Cyclogest; without being personal (well, trying not to be!) are you using the visitor's entrance then? I read that using the front for Cyclogest can very often cause internal irritation and a little bleeding because of it; could you try switching to the tradesman's entrance instead and see if that solves the problem? Obviously Louise is the one to ask, but I just wondered? hugs and hope it sorts itself out really quickly!

digitalgirl · 28/11/2011 13:48

also lurking for scooter

stogan I think I read that itchy feet can be a symptom of OC, but they will test your blood to check. I had horrendous itching a few weeks ago, which seems to have calmed down of it's own accord - had some blood taken to check for OC anyway and it was fine. I also remember having lots of itching when pg with DS - again went and had bloods taken and it was fine. The MW told me that the skin is the next organ that filters out toxins when your liver can't cope with all the pregnancy hormones. It sends all the toxins to your skin and you scratch them away. It's an amazing thing. Fingers crossed you'll be ok. I reckon if there's anything for you to worry about you'll hear before Friday.

kittens sorry it looks like you're out this cycle. I won't move you on the list just yet because at 10dpo cramps and spotting could well be implantation and I want to remain positive for you.

(((((hugs))))) to free too for spotting. So bloody difficult getting through these early weeks, we all know it could mean nothing, but we'd prefer not to have to think about it at all. You did say there was some SFF action over the weekend, perhaps this is a result of that. Have amended you on the list. I was two days out from the last one so assumed everyone else was.

Any news from Scooter? We are all thinking of you. A friend on another thread had a big bleed in the middle of the night the other night but all was fine at the scan and no reason given for it.

I have news of spotting too ? am gutted. It?s just a bit of pink in the ?fall out? from Cyclogest at the moment but obviously none of us see this as a particularly good sign. I feel especially shit today too ? sickish and tired. Had a crap night?s sleep ? awake until around 4am and when I did finally sleep had vivid dreams about bad scans. No cramping or anything yet, so I guess that is one thing. But I have never had spotting before that hasn?t then led on to full on bleeding and miscarriage. Although at 5.6 today (I seem to have gained a day on the list) this is the earliest I have ever had any spotting. Sigh.

Wonder if like you Choccy I should call Louise and see whether I should go into an extra Cyclogest.

Welcome back Lemon! Looking forward to your appointment and hopefully you will be joining us properly in this calm place to discuss all the madness.

Stogan I will look up that condition later, but I did see a thread on the pregnancy boards about people itching too, not sure if you have seen it?

Sorry for lack of direct chat with everyone. Am off to get a luxury manicure - it's an hour and 15 mins for £23, so I thought was a really good deal. I feel really ropey all round and I thought it would cheer me up to at least have better looking hands!

Speak later xx

OP posts:
Stogan · 28/11/2011 13:23

Sorry for rubbish spelling and grammar Sad

Stogan · 28/11/2011 13:22

So sorry to read your post scooter u must be frantic but as all the wise ladies say this doesn't necessarily spell the end. Everything crossed for u here hunni xxx

Welling been MW and had blood taken and have to wait until FRIDAY fir the results , what is this 1922????

She reckons u could have obstetric cholestasis so obv I've been on the net and diagnosed myself as having it !! Thing is I can cope if I have it as I can be treated, it's the not knowing eitherway that's upsetting me, have cried since 10.30 SadSadSad

iggi999 · 28/11/2011 13:19

Choccy I couldn't find any either, I bought a tin of prunes and drank the juice! I also added a good dose of innocent smoothie into the mix.

ChoccyPud · 28/11/2011 13:12

Ah I was looking in the fresh juice section. Wow you girls know how to get things moving thanks for the info!! Have to confess to feeling a little lighter suddenly though - Must've been all the talk... Grin

Btw Ari I just had a rather light headed few minutes too. Maybe empty stomach but thought I'd mention.

Havingkittens · 28/11/2011 13:04

Choccy you can find prune juice in most supermarkets, although usually they are in the long life juice section rather than the fresh juices. I tend to find somewhere between 6-9 prunes will do the job for me. Apples are supposed to be quite effective too, as are pears.

Arianrhod · 28/11/2011 13:02

choccy Tesco's sells it (I just did a quick search on their online groceries site, it's there, 1L for £1.10), Sains sell it, and Waitrose - I suspect all supermarkets do? I just drink (force-drink, the stuff's disgusting) a glass first thing in the morning, actually take my pred with it because it vaguely disguises the taste. Does the job for me :)

ChoccyPud · 28/11/2011 12:55

Louise advised doubling up the cyclogest. No advice to stop aspirin whilst spotting/bleeding so I've kept going. She said it would be ok to keep on double dose til I see Mr S on Sat but if I stay clear I might reduce again. No point building up tolerance or something in case I need to up it again I guess.

Where can I buy prune juice Ari? Couldn't find any on Tesco online is it a health food shop kinda thing? I do have some actual prunes I think tho am slightly nervous of the correct dosage(!) as I remember I think Iggi finding the juice was pretty effective rather quickly...

snoopygirl · 28/11/2011 12:11

Right iggi I'm booking myself in for hot stone massage!! Can be Oh present to me! Never had one before, it's looks interesting. Also going to start temping this month will have to read up on it. I have a BBT in drawer that's never been used so will have a go at that. It seems the most accurate way to see when you actually OV. Also might try the acupunture too if I can afford it.
I have also just walked 4 miles with Mum this morning to try and get some pred weight off.
ari i was a bit shaky with pred but obvioulsy wasn't the high dose. Kind of like shreaded nerves feeling with me and a bit heart racing every now and then. But boy did it make me confused/thick!!

Coconutfeet · 28/11/2011 11:57

Oh Scooter, Sorry you're going through this. I hope the EPU see you quickly and are able to put your mind at rest. You must be frantic.

Iggi - How are things with you today?

Kittens - Sorry to hear you've got your period and you're feeling down. Even though you know in your head that you've got loads on your plate at the moment and it would be another thing to worry about, I'm sure it doesn't make it any easier to deal with.

Lemonsherbet - I second Ari that Mr S didn't seem to think my age (43 at the time) was an issue really. He said that my eggs couldn't be that bad as I was managing to get pregnant. Good luck with your first appointment. I think the general feeling is that while getting a diagnosis can be a bit daunting, having a concrete plan of action rather than the usual fobbing off feels very reassuring.

Well I've stayed home today as I've still got a stinking cold and feel completely wiped out. I've actually been doing school work since around 8.30 and will carry on for a few more hours, but that doesn't stop me feeling horribly guilty about not going in and actually teaching. I very rarely take time off but have had about 4 unavoidable pregnancy-related hospital appointments recently which have taken me out of work and, as I only work part time, I really feel bad. Ridiculous really as I work extra hours every bloody weekend and often in the evenings!

Havingkittens · 28/11/2011 11:20

Ari, Pred (even at 25mg) gives me the really bad shakes and makes me feel dizzy too. After 7 months on it, I still can't work out how to counteract it.

Scooter, sorry you've woken up bleeding. I hope you get in to EPU soon and find out what's going on. Fingers crossed for you that all is ok.

Choccy glad to hear things have settled with you. I hope it stays that way.

Iggi, I will echo what everyone else has said. I've always heard that dopplers can cause more worry than reassurance at your stage, especially in the hands of someone who's never used one before. I don't know if your GP surgery has an ante natal clinic at all but you could see if they have a doppler there. MY GP, who is head of the ante natal clinic at my surgery, told me that when I get pregnant I will be welcome to come in and see him and his doppler any time I feel I need to. Might be worth asking?

Snoopy sorry to hear of your BFN. I know how frustrating it is.

It looks like I'll be joining you on the "Waiting to Ovulate" section again too. Woke up with period pains on and off for a couple of hours and then signs of starting, although not in actual flow yet. I don't think this is implantation cramps/spotting. My body has decided it's now on a 25 day cycle, which means that if I did ovulate within 24 hours of my positive OPK my luteal phase is maximum 10 days. That can't be good can it?

I did say to Duggs in our PM conversation that I would be almost relieved if I wasn't pregnant because I have so much other stuff on my mind but, in the cold light of day, that's not really true. I'm pretty fed up and despondent about it. I've never had to wait a year between pregnancies before. Bollocks!

scooterchaser · 28/11/2011 11:12

choccy just wondered who told you to double up the cyclogest and whether you were told to continue the aspirin when you were bleeding? I am still waiting to hear from local EPU but I wondered whether I should be seeking any advice from Dr S's office in the meantime.

Arianrhod · 28/11/2011 11:11

Hahahaha Just had to share this with you all ... did a quick Dr Google on possible side effects of pred (again, again) and came across this - truncated, but look at the last one:

What side effects can this medication cause?
Prednisone may cause side effects. Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away:

headache

dizziness

difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep

inappropriate happiness

"Inappropriate happiness"??? ROFL!

Arianrhod · 28/11/2011 11:09

Thanks girls, but I have borderline low blood pressure, not high, and that doesn't appear to have changed (had it taken late last week). I think I will do what you suggest digi and drop Louise a line. I drink rooibos tea most of the time which has no caffeine, so it can't be that either.

choccy much as I hate the stuff, I recommend prune juice for the lack of action :) I haven't used the visitor's entrance I'm afraid, so can't comment on that one, no doubt others will!

digi just noticed you hit 20 weeks ... that's a fabulous milestone! :)

ChoccyPud · 28/11/2011 11:01

Ari just read your latest post. Could be high bp. Have you been having caff coffee? It sent me shaky last week so I've cut it out.

I'm getting headaches late pm and lots of heartburn if I don't keep grazing.

ChoccyPud · 28/11/2011 10:57

Hi all. Scooter sorry to hear that. Get yourself to the EPU. I know it's horribly scary and I'm a fine one I say try not to worry but the sooner you can take a look the sooner you can find out as much as is possible re whats going on.

Thanks for asking Ari... Clean so far today :) I'd like to keep up with two cyclogest a day until I see Dr S on Sat, but as I think it's better to use rear entrance during the day when I'm moving around, certain other things need to, um, move before I can do the cyclogest. And quite simply there's been no action since Sat am. Sorry for tmi but hey who else is going to sympathise?! Do you all find it just all seems to fall back out if you go front bottom? Maybe I'm doing it wrong!!

Will review at lunchtime. The things we do to ourselves...

Good luck for scans today.

digitalgirl · 28/11/2011 10:54

ari I had a week of dizziness/treacle head at about 5-6 weeks. It's one of my usual early PG symptoms (not that I had many at all). Think its the hormones. But if you're getting attack of the shakes that sounds a bit more serious...can get to your GP's surgery and have your BP taken? Def send an email to Louise and ask her opinion.

digitalgirl · 28/11/2011 10:50

scooter thinking of you. Really really hope it's nothing to worry about.

lemonsherbet hello again Smile. I remember the NHS said something similar to me about getting my ovarian reserve tested after all the other tests came back clear (I was 32 at the time). Mentioned this to Mr S in my first appt with him and he waved it off saying it was a waste of time. Is your appointment with him coming up soon?

iggi how are you today?

Ahh lemonsherbert do you know, I thought I recognised your nickname but couldn't place it :) I blame in on pred-fuddled brain, sorry! So sorry to hear of your losses, and honestly, the "age" thing never raised its head when I saw Mr S - or rather, I raised it, he dismissed it. He said as long as you're still conceiving (which you clearly are too), then it's not necessarily an issue. I asked him to tell me straight, is it actually worth my pursuing this given my age?, and he was emphatic in his recommendation that I should. So that's good enough for me! I hope you find some answers, that you can then have a plan to address. It's the not knowing what's causing it all that I found the worst thing.

iggi a hot stone massage sounds wonderful, I've not heard of that. Hmm wonder if I can ask Santa for one?!

Girls, can I just ask you all, has pred made anyone else feel dizzy/shaky? I'm finding I get a major attack of the shakes daily, usually for several hours; eating sometimes helps, sometimes doesn't. I thought if pred affected blood sugar it was to put it up, not down - am I wrong? I did have a mild case of this on the low-dose pred for the first cycle, second one I didn't have it, but since being on the high-dose pred the past 4 or 5 days I've been getting a real attack of the shakes every day. It's not funny, but I'm not sure what to do about it?
