Hello Brownie and indeed Mr Brownie! That's such amazing news about the scan today, you had me welling up in tears for you both. And Mr B is right, it is indeed great to have this support.

I spoke to Louise earlier about the spotting and she was very lovely and said (as we all have said) that lots of people have that sort of thing. If it gets worse she says to double up on Progesterone and to also keep the appointment for the 3rd (was actually thinking of pushing it back so I would be more like 7 weeks something rather than 6.4) and hope that at that stage we do see something. I was freaking out at the prospect of another inconclusive scan. But i have decided to just be brave and go for it.

Just almost strained my stomach as I ran to get the phone and slipped - not great activity for a rm sufferer who was spotting earlier but hopefully all is as was!

duggs see you tomorrow I hope, Scooter we all have our fingers crossed for your scan tomorrow. Oh and Brownie glad you too are going when up the duff. I guess there must still be things they can test for such as TEG etc. Are you both going to tell them about the Pred and Mr S? I think I am, they seem a bit more open to these things these days I think.

Great news Brownie. Congratulations! x

I've been trying to explain superovulation to my OH. The best way I can put in in "man terms" is like going up a level on asteroids or space invaders - there are more targets to shoot at Grin

BrownieGecko · 28/11/2011 19:55

Evening, apologies for not posting sooner, in the rush this morning I forgot my mobile and have only just got home.

Firstly, am so sorry Free, Cheerful, & Scooter that you have had such a horrible day. Can't believe you have to wait till tomorrow Scooter, sending you big hugs and hope that all will be ok. Given our past it is always easier to assume the worst, but sometimes life surprises us. As Battery says, all the uncertainty and stress for us sucks big stylie.

Good luck at St Mary's tomorrow Free and Duggs, my appointment is on the 13th of Dec. I am going to see them and I am up duff so hope too they won't have a problem with it. Mary the secretary is lovely so am sure the Q won't be a prob.

Hope everyone else is ok?

Well, as for me, today delivered one of those nice surprises that me and DH had convinced ourselves we would never get after 6 mc's. Today we saw a very active little bean waving at us at our Nuchal Scan. We both sobbed like girls for about 10 minutes which took them by surprise :) All I can say is that where others haven't been able to help, the NK Cell treatment has so far.

I meant to say the other day, my DH is a lurker on this thread every day. He thinks it is great we have such a good support network going and that you are all lovely ladies :).

duggs1976 · 28/11/2011 19:16

Yes saw you on tv! I've a long fury coat too ( was my mum's from 70's she wore when pg with me!) so my lucky coat.. We can send a joint update on here as nothing else to do but sit about for ages x

freelancegirl · 28/11/2011 19:01

Ooh duggs - do you know what I look like? I will have a furry leopard print coat on, dusky looking, long dark hair.

duggs1976 · 28/11/2011 19:00

free I turned up and they had lost my q anyway so just take it along. Also I'm there tomorrow at 10.30 so perhaps we will meet? I'll look out for you. I've dark curlyish hair about 5ft 8 ! Also isn't waste of time as it takes an age to get in. Although am less than impressed so far. Haven't read all your post as got excited that I'd be able to say hi. Grin

freelancegirl · 28/11/2011 18:30

There's definitely a lot of waiting going on Stogan!. I am waiting as we speak - for more nastiness. So far nothing but I am fully expecting to wake up with something going on in the night.

BTW it's my appointment with St Mary's tomorrow at 10am and I realise I have done nothing of what they have asked me to do so I might not even had an appointment. They said to call to confirm (and also call if I can't make it, which of course I can make it) and also post ahead a questionnaire and bring a copy. I will take the copy but haven't posted. They also say you can't be helped if already pregnant. Is it a total waste of time me even going? Quite possibly but I think I will go anyway and if they just turn me away they turn me away. I just want to get into their system just in case and I have been waiting to get through to them since April!

Just a very quickie as DD is chomping .. free yep you can get a little bit of pink and then it stops, especially if it's post-rumpy pumpy. That's exactly what I had both times last year. Freaked me out no end at the time (and I wasn't even on MC alert back then, O Naiive that I was). Obviously I can't say that is def what has happened .. but I can say it's very likely.

cheerful hope yours is just transitory too. Not a full moon today but a crescent one .. maybe those tidal pulls are having a dastardly effect!

Stogan · 28/11/2011 17:29

My god, must have my eyes crossed too as my spelling is atrocious (blaming the phone and swollen eyes from crying) sorry guys hope u can make sense of my ramblings xxx

Stogan · 28/11/2011 17:28

Thanks to all for your reassuring posts. I'm not actually worried about it being OC it's just the bloody waiting around that kills me, it's all we seem to do isn't it ??? Wait to ovulate then 2ww then Confucius waits for scans and then wait for the little blighted to arrive phew, I'm off to bed !!!

Thinking of u though scooter, have u been scanned to check for heamatoma (crap spelling sorry) mr s said I had one and to look out for heavy bleeds. I've not had anything but he did tell mr it was common and if I got it just to inform my MW purely because I'd need an anti d injection and nothing more sinister than that, hopefully could be what ur experiencing. Eitherway still got everything crossed for u and hopeful ur scan will be perfect tomorrow xx????

freelancegirl · 28/11/2011 17:19

OOh, location specific PMs winging their way to Euro and Coconut as we speak... I am ALWAYS up for distraction, in fact especially when things like this are going on.

Coconutfeet · 28/11/2011 17:01

Blimey, what an awful day for so many of you! Scooter - There are so many stories of women who bleed and it's all OK but of course you're not going to be able to relax until you know for sure. I hope tonight and tomorrow morning go quickly for you.

Free and Charlie - Hope it all tails off for both of you too.

Stogan - They thought I was going to get OC in m preg with ds but it never actually materialised. If it does turn out to be that, they will monitor you really closely which is really reassuring. Fingers crossed it's not though.

That place looks nice Free (I have to admit I went straight to the cafe page!). I'm also not a million miles away from there, but north of the river. Would love to jump onto a micro-meet bandwagon if you do arrange something.

eurochick · 28/11/2011 16:59

Thanks free! I might have to check that out. It sounds good.

BTW, I'd love a minimeet. I live a mile or two from Greenwich. Message me if you are interested. But I understand you have other things on your mind right now. I hope all is well. x

freelancegirl · 28/11/2011 16:27

PS Euro it was the Pura Ayurveda in GMV - really good! My french manicure is lovely. They have some good prices for other treatments too. We should have a micro thread meet up you know - CW or there or wherever!

What the hell is going on round here today?! First Scooter, then myself, now Cheerful. Are you still spotting occasionally Choccy or has it stopped now? I haven?t yet called Louise but will do so in the morning I think. I also have St Mary?s in the morning but they might not even see me being that I am (at the moment anyway) pregnant.

I haven't had any more as yet but I fully expect to. I just can't see how you can just get a bit of pink and then it all go away. I have now cracked open the dodgy pastel pants instead of my usual black ones to make sure I know exactly what is going on.

Scooter so sorry to hear it is getting worse. I know it must be a long, long wait until the scan tomorrow. We all know we hear of people bleeding in pregnancy all the time and then they are fine (yes even people who have rmc and mc in the past) but we all automatically think the worst when it is happening to us. For fucks sake ? this is all such a flipping nightmare.

Am a bit paranoid about ectopic too Cheerful. I have looked up the pain thing and apparently there is a chance we would have had it before now, but I just don?t know. I have had some twinging in days gone by but it has felt like what I am assume to be the corpeus luteum as I had it last pregnancy and that wasn?t ectopic. It was of course a mc though so who knows what these things should feel like when they are going well?!

I am hoping it is indeed just a bit of irritating Battery and Ari but we just never know do we. Rest assured I will be trying the tradesman option for Cyclogest tonight and definitely not doing any S without i!

Hope everyone else is ok!

OP posts:
Cheerfulcharlie · 28/11/2011 15:50

Bloody hell, it's not a good day. Is it a full moon? I have also had red spotting today at 5 +4 (list shows me as 5+5). It seems to have tailed off a bit and I can't be bothered going for a scan or another HCG test this early, but I have been dashing to the loo all afternoon to check it out. I've been using the (giggle) tradesman's entrance for the cyclogest and far too scared to S without I so can't be that. I am paranoid about ectopic. You would definitely get pain with that would you?

Scooter - I am so sorry to hear of your bleeding. One thing it could be is a hematoma. With high NK cells we are apparently susceptible to them according to Dr Beer's book. Make sure they have a good look for one on your scan tomorrow. You can actually get loads and loads or just a little (or even no) bleeding with them. Most times they eventually get reabsorbed by the body and cause no harm. Of course it could be something completely different but just something else to consider. I have my fingers crossed for you.

Brownie - was it your scan today? How did it go?

eurochick · 28/11/2011 15:38

Scooter I know people who have bled on and off throughout pregnancy and had good outcomes. I hope it will be the same for you.

batteryhen · 28/11/2011 15:23

quick post from work - just to say hugs for scooter I hate that we have this worry all the flaming time. Why can't everything just be plain sailing like it seems to be for others? I hope your scan reveals a nice little hb and bean is just snuggling in. Crap you have to wait till tomorrow, but glad your DH is there now.
free - Maybe your spotting is just to do with the cyclogest and things 'up there' are a bit irritated?

I hate all the uncertainty and stress that comes with early pregnancy :(

Will post later or I will be sacked xx

Arianrhod · 28/11/2011 15:11

Oh scooter, crossing all fingers and toes that everything goes ok for you. I know all could well be ok, and I'm praying that it's so, but it must be terrible for you. It could well be a breakthrough 'period', you do hear of lots of women who have this around the time their period would have been due, but I know nothing much is going to reassure you until you see what's going on for yourself tomorrow.

Huge hugs to you, take good care of you and try to rest and take it easy until you have your scan tomorrow.

scooterchaser · 28/11/2011 15:00

Hi sorry for lack of personals, just having such a difficult day. This is all a real shock as I thought if it was going wrong I would have had more warning. At least DH home now, horrible to come back to this though. Scan booked for 1.30pm 2moro, my GP phoned to check I was ok and now waiting for a call from St Helier's midwife team to ask about the cyclogest. It's just a day of waiting and dreading every time I go to the toilet because so far every time it's been worse and not tailing off. My only slim hope is this could be a breakthrough 'period' (it's around the time my second period would be due) and my body will remember it's pregnant at some point and sort itself out. I have heard stories about people having 'periods' all the way through pregnancy. Hope hope hope. But I know all the signs, cramps, headache, dark red blood not promising at all.

eurochick · 28/11/2011 14:41

free what place is that? I'm pretty local to there.

I'm v amused by all this talk of tradesman and visitor entrances. I guess I have the cyclogest delights to come!

ChoccyPud · 28/11/2011 14:35

Free hunni so sorry you've got it too. Keep an eye on it but it sounds like how mine started I do wonder if we Pred girls are particularly prone to spotting with the cyclogest and aspirin. Speak to Louise to set your mind at rest and so she can update your notes for Sat and I expect she'll say to go to two cyclogest a day ie every 12 hours or two at night.

On the timing this is pure conjecture but bear in mind that although your LMP was earlier than mine I ov'd a couple of days before you. That must have an impact on what is actually happening inside eg I might be further along hence spotting earlier if it's implantation bleeding for both of us. Hang on in there til you can have a look in Sat xx

Can we just get one thing straight.

  1. Tradesman's best for cyclogest - for the reasons Ari gives. And it's fine. I think I just ignore the ick factor.
  2. Visitor's best for swi/sff BUT I'm with Ari again and am far too scared esp after spotting to sff until at least 12 weeks. Poor dh indeed, its feast or famine, but luckily he's v understanding and tbh wouldn't be "interested" if he knew I wasnt completely up for it. Which I'm really not.

Probably best not get the choice of entrance/implement confused. That would only cause mess and discomfort for both parties.

What was it Ari said about inappropriate/random amusement?! Maybe I'm just hitting max madness in lead up to scan...? Blush but hey you have to laugh don't you? :)

Havingkittens · 28/11/2011 14:34

free serious queasiness and tiredness are both good signs. I've never felt so tired as I have when pregnant. I'm not going to tell you to try not to worry about the pinkness, I know that's nigh on impossible. But I have my fingers crossed for you.

I am lol-ing at ari's comment about the "tradesmen's" following straight on from the S w/o I subject. I'm assuming you were referring to the cyclogest in that context but could so easily been misconstrued. Also lol-ing at the earlier post which I must've missed in cross posting this morning about "inappropriate happiness".

stogan, sorry to hear you're feeling miserable. I hope you can get some reassurance before friday.

digi I appreciate your optimism but I really do think it's game over today. I've had implantation feelings before and they were quite different to the cramps I've had today and the flow is starting to get going a bit now. It's all looking very familiar and, typically, it was the wipe just after POAS (+ve) that was red.

I have just taken decisive action and made an appointment to see Mr S privately at NLC with a view to super ovulation. If I wait for my NHS referral to go through it could be a few months, once all test results are back, before anything actually happens. This way I can have a shot and if it doesn't work I am still in the system with the NHS so might get another go.

Arianrhod · 28/11/2011 14:12

And btw, the serious queasiness? Very good sign, that :) It's a bugger about the tiredness, I'm with you on that, I keep waking up throughout the night, every single night, and it's knackering me out! Hang in there free, crossing fingers for you and choccy having a great scan on Sat.

Also still lurking for news from scooter, hoping all ok with you ..

Arianrhod · 28/11/2011 14:11

Very, very common free, DTD causing a small amount of spotting/very light bleeding, in early pregnancy. Yeah, I Googled it last year, since it scared me, and while it definitely didn't cause my MC then, the fact that the only spotting I got (until my MC of course) was only the next day after DTD, after the second time it happened we didn't repeat the experiment. I'll have lots of PMA for you, then, it was the non-I S that caused it. Might not hurt to switch to the tradesman's anyway, for your own reassurance? Lord the things we discuss here! I decided right at the start to use that when I read it can cause irritation at the front, because of the aforementioned disposition to all things UTI. It's nowhere near as bad as I thought it might be, not dignified in any respect but nothing about this whole process is!
