Lurking too for news of Ari.

Sorry to hear about spotting Cheerful. What a flipping rollercoaster this all is. A friend of mine on another thread is bleeding a lot at the moment and the baby is fine, no reason found for it. It's very stressful though.

I am starving today, am on my fourth round of 'lunchtime' toast. With peanut butter this time, so being wild and crazy.

Time is dragging and I can't believe I am still only 7.1 by my LMP. I don't even dare admit it to myself that I might get any further in this pregnancy than the next scan, but I also can't help looking ahead to the calendar to take a sneaky peak as to when specific milestones would be - 12 weeks, 16 weeks, 20 weeks. It's such a comparatively short period of time to wait, but I feel like there is potentially a gaping gorge between now and then.

Something else that freaks me out is that I often feel cold. You hear of pregnant people feeling hot not cold. I worry it is a bad sign.

How is everyone else today? Quite quiet on here in comparison to other days. Waves to Digi, Cherry and Duggs too. I am definitely up for meeting and yes lunch on the South Bank sounds good. I notice there is a Christmas fair there at the mo. Lovely to see Digi looking wonderfully pregnant and flying the flag as the most 'pregnantly advanced' person at the RL meet up! And Brownie you are doing so well too.

ari how did you get on today at Dr S's? Thanks for the hcg info yesterday.

I've managed to have a bit of red spotting today. Just about to go for acupuncture though so hopefully she can sort it out.

duggs1976 · 07/12/2011 12:30

Ladies..

We did say our next RL meeting would be in the new year - late January perhaps on a Saturday or Sunday - lunch along the Southbank so that more people could perhaps join.

We will post more details after Christmas but if anyone who couldn't make last night is interested do say and we will try to pin down a suitable weekend.

x
sue I'll talk to youabout superovulation on Sat - although perhaps I would be better qualified once it actually works for me ! only on 2nd cycle so need to be patient Xmas Wink

cherrycheeks · 07/12/2011 11:52

Hi ladies,

It was great to meet everyone last night. I felt uplifted when I got home- so nice to chat to others in the same situation. I'm already looking forward to the next time!

Thinking of you today Ari x

BFN for me today, still not sure when I ovulated, but already looking ahead to the next cycle and joining duggs in the superovulation room of the cocoon house :) Bring on the superegging.

digitalgirl · 07/12/2011 10:56

Thinking of you this morning ari - I think you've been incredibly strong and level-headed throughout the past few weeks. I guess it's something we're used to doing now, it's easy to switch to auto-pilot. Let us know how it goes.

duggs thank you so much for organising last night. I had a great time chatting to everyone, didn't realise how late it had got when I left.
Would definitely be up for meeting up again in the New Year.

choccy and scooter was especially lovely to see you both there last night. I hope it helped in some way Smile.

brownie thanks for joining me on the pregnancy couch. It must feel strange to be talking aloud about being pregnant when you haven't told anyone in RL yet. But it's a positive thing to do and hopefully you'll start getting used to it because sooner or later it's going to be difficult to hide (took me a while not to flinch whenever anyone in RL said congratulations).

sue sorry about the BFN. But, hey, at least you've had AF already and are already a few days into this new cycle. Definitely recommend temping to ensure you've ovulated, I personally don't think starting the pred a few days after ovulation is a problem...as long as you've started before implantation which is at the earliest 7dpo.

kittens I dabbled in a bit of social smoking from about 16 to late twenties. Was never really a massive smoker. Haven't touched a ciggie since TTC the first time round. Can't say the same for drinking though. Although haven't been on a really massive bender since PG with DS.

free These early weeks are sooooo slow. Distraction, distraction, distraction!

Waves to all those DPs out there reading along! Very brave of you guys to peek at all the inner mentalling that goes on with us recurrent miscarriers.

Right, REALLY must do some work now.

freelancegirl · 07/12/2011 09:53

It is indeed one of the seven circles of hell PQ and I was just on the phone sorting it out the GP instead. Friday at 11.15. So I can breathe a sigh of relief. Shit, like many of us I just feel I spend all my time at doctors these days! I don't know how I would have time to hold down a proper job. Am so relieved am not heading up to that hospital now today though.

Sorry about the BFN Sue but more annoying I am sure is the weird effect this whole thing is having on your cycles. It's the last thing that is needed when TTC on medication etc. Just another thing to address, so I can understand how frustrating that is.

PQ77 · 07/12/2011 09:46

free - can you get the phlebotomist at your local GP to do the bloods and avoid QE? I thought the blood clinic was one of the seven circles of hell when I went there do I don't blame you trying to conserve your energy...

PQ77 · 07/12/2011 09:44

Hi all! Great night last night. Have lost my voice this morning so am getting lots of sympathy at work with everyone thinking I am ill. Hahaha - just from too much talking.

Don't envy you Ari sitting waiting to give blood, not fun at all. Sorry about your BFN suemays Sad.

kittens - re smoking -I was thinking that we were probably as healthy looking a bunch of women you would ever find on a night out in london!! Anyone would think that with what 45(?) or so miscarriages between us last night we would have been necking bottles of wine, smoking several packs of cigs, nipping out to do some recreational drugs and tipping back triple espressos going "What - you mean all this increases our risk of miscarriage? Why didn't anyone tell us"

suemays · 07/12/2011 09:34

Hi ladies, haven't had time to read all the posts so will do later - hope you all had fun last night!
Just an update on my testing - a BFN this morning so I think my AF did arrive a week early and it wasnt implantation bleeding. Fed up of this waiting game and not knowing what the hell my body is doing with the preds. Louise told me that the preds can delay and disrupt OV which makes it harder to conceive.

freelancegirl · 07/12/2011 09:21

Hi all, great to meet those who were at the RL do last night! It was indeed so good to chat freely about this sort of thing, launching straight into the nitty gritty to people who didn't batt an eyelid at all our gruesome revelations. Not sure what the bar staff would have thought of us as they snatched bits of our conversation :)

Ari thinking of you too and I hope you get some answers today. You asked about ERPCs with Mr S - for my ERPC under the treatment Mr S was actually away and I was at my local EPU for the inconclusive scans, so I went with my local hospital. I got properly told off by him afterwards as he wanted me to have had it with him so he could send it off for analysis. I did ask the hospital to do that too but of course they didn't. I never found out how much it would have cost with him though. But I know he would have liked to have taken control of it.

I too am putting off a trip to my local hospital right now for blood tests. I just can't face the scene of so many depressing things. Also am sitting here with that constant low level nausea I seem to be getting at the moment and feel reluctant to expend my energy on something so time consuming (I have had to sit up there for a good two hours at time waiting in the blood test queue). The nausea I hate when it's here as I don't feel like 'me' anymore but as soon as it goes I am worrying like mad!

Cheerful sorry you got a bit freaked out by the HCG test but it seems within normal range doesn't it? Ari is right, after a certain length of time it doesn't double necessarily.

Kittens I am an ex-smoker - don't know about anyone else? Smoking was a huge part of my miss-spent youth. The miss-spent bit went on a lot longer than the smoking bit but the smoking bit was with me, at least as a social smoker for many a year! In fact I think in between pregnancies and miscarriages this year (the bits where I have got very drunk in between) I have also indulged in the odd sneaky smoke. Not right now though obviously...

Agh, 7.1 today by my LMP for me...6 days until next scan... tick tock....time is going so very slowly. Some people don't even know they are pregnant at this stage! Can't believe it is only three weeks today that I was having intralipids in that clinic in California. It seems months ago!

Thank you for a lovely evening ladies, I had a fab time. It was great to meet you all. Definitely up for meeting again in the new year to mingle some more :)

Ari - Thinking of you this morning. xx

Arianrhod · 07/12/2011 08:23

Thanks choccy, I will. Sitting back in the walk-in hospital right now waiting for yet more blood to be taken, for the thyroid test the lab didn't bother to do 3 weeks ago. My life seems to be an endless round of surgeries, tests and having blood taken.

/waves to all, hope you're all doing good this morning.

ChoccyPud · 07/12/2011 08:02

Ari just to say thinking of you today... Come tell us how you get on hugs

duggs1976 · 07/12/2011 00:19

Hey fabulous bunch we really are. Hope you all got home ok. . .so many subjects and feelings and emotions scooter and choccy hats off to you both. Bear how refreshing to talk to people who are not obliged to try to listen and tolerate or pity .
Speak tomorrow ladies. sleep tight x

Havingkittens · 06/12/2011 23:00

Lovely to meet you all this evening. Sorry I didn't get to speak to some of you much. Will have to do more mingling next time!

What a gorgeous bunch of ladies.

I couldn't help but notice that none of us smoked (in my slightly tipys, "ooh I don't smoke anymore but fancy a roll up", departure). Is that because we are all health conscious TTC/pregnant types or does not smoking (& eating peanut butter, living in central london, not eating meat) give you high NK Cells?! lol.

ChoccyPud · 06/12/2011 21:36

Just got on my train heading home... Fab evening girls it was so lovely to meet you all. Rather tired hence dropping out early - I've got another long day at work tomorrow on top of everything else so I'm sure you understand.

We really must do it again - maybe a weekend lunch? In Brighton?!

xx

iggi999 · 06/12/2011 20:56

Yes have a great night. Is there someone sitting near your table with a trenchcoat and a fake moustache? That'll be Dr S Grin

Stogan · 06/12/2011 20:33

Hope ur all having a good natter together girls, sending hugs to u all. Please have a glass, or 5 of wine for me !!! Xx

snoopygirl · 06/12/2011 20:14

Hey for those furries who are drinking have one for me Wine I'm having one for you Wink
x

Arianrhod · 06/12/2011 19:40

Just a thought - has anyone had Mr S do an ERPC and if so do you know what the cost is? I don't want to have another one if I can avoid it but it would be nice to know what he charges before I see him tomorrow in case he does think it should be done. Just info-gathering, you understand.

Hope you furry-clad ladies are having a ball Xmas Smile

Arianrhod · 06/12/2011 18:22

Lol Ok so it did post properly the first time, my silly phone just didn't show it! Sorry for the double post.

eurochick · 06/12/2011 18:22

Have fun at the meet up. I'm not going to make this one, unfortunately. I have been out doing Xmas shopping and family visits since 10:30 this morning and just got in. I am shattered and would be terrible company! Sorry to have missed you all. Have fun!

Didn't seem to paste properly the first time .. wretched iPhone!!

Arianrhod · 06/12/2011 18:14

Hey cheerful .. well as someone who's recently been swotting up on hCG levels, I'm here to tell you your level is perfectly normal for where you are. Have a read of this page www.americanpregnancy.org/duringpregnancy/hcglevels.html - it should set your mind at rest. Also levels don't keep up the doubling every 48 hours, it slows down somewhere between weeks 8 to 11. Anyway read that page, I hope it helps :)

Cheerfulcharlie · 06/12/2011 16:38

Ooo, I hope you're all having fun at the meet up!

Well I have been thinking over the last few days and decided that if possible I will try not to have a scan until 12 weeks. But because I am due the second load of intralipids next week I thought i would go and get an HCG test today to check the levels are going up. I'm 6 wk 5 days today and my HCG came back at 95,000. My initial reaction was, wow that's good. And now the more I think about it (and google) I realise that a high HCG is not necessarily good and can indicate downs / other chromosomal problems. Even if the HCG doubled only every 4 days from now on, that means it would be 5,000,000 by 12 weeks, which would be v high risk for downs. Anyone had any experience of high HCG?

scooter totally understand about not being able to do the capture thing. I know it is ideal to be able to get it tested but there is no way I have been able to do that and the thought of it freaks me out a bit.
Very jealous about your Gary Barlow do!
