G4P - i foudn myself pretending i was ok to a lot of people, i put a brave face on to all the kids parents, saying i was fine. Then would crumble once they had gone. Working did keep me occupied though which was a good way of getting through the days. I think if i hadn't gone back to work i could ahve easily stayed in bed for weeks and just sobbed. We have no children of our own yet, so we didn't have anyone to keep us on ours toes like you do.
I'm sure you will be fine once you get back to work, it will all settle down. Its very good that they have kept in touch with you, that will definitly help, rather than having had no contact with anyone.

FirstNikki · 04/01/2006 14:14

FirstNikki · 04/01/2006 14:13

Bless your DS and yes they say the funniest things and can embarrass you at a drop of a hat. has the dr fixed DS?

mums - boots test good idea particularly for men who are stubborn and say ..."its not me"

going4potty · 04/01/2006 14:11

Yes, he has a fungal infection, which explains why the sudocrem was useless. I met a work colleague while food shopping and she was really great, so felt better about going back monday. Not that they havent been good sending me messages flowers, telephoning etc. But you worry dont you? Also as i said quite a lot of manual handling and stressed out patients to deal with and at the mo anything sets me of

diddle · 04/01/2006 14:05

G4P - glad my Cat finally arrived. Mumsnet head office must be on a go slow.
Blees, kids say the funniest things don't they. I shoudl write a book of them. One of the little ones i ahve came upto me waving his thumb at me, asking if it was a thumb or a finger because Child A had said it was a finger. Bless him, he's only 3, looked so innocent, and couldn't understand why i was grinning at him so much

We're doing thank you cards for xmas pressies today.

Did the doctor sort our your little one G4P?

mumswish · 04/01/2006 14:04

Diddle thanks for the cat Ds was so embarrasing at the Drs yesterday, remember he had been scratching his bits? Well he announced to all in the waiting room. "Mummy yo need to put a plaster on my winky its hurting" I just laughed and said the dr would do it lol.

mumswish · 04/01/2006 13:00

What does everyone think of the fact they've got fertility tests available to buy in Boots now?

I personally think its a good idea and I'd use them

diddle · 04/01/2006 12:38

peepee - sounds like you have the right idea in mind, worth waiting for the money if they're willing to support you. Hope you get the decision you want, and of course that BFP!

can't believe its lunchtime already, where has the morning gone?

mumswish · 04/01/2006 11:31

Coathanger · 04/01/2006 11:02

School as in college. I start my access course next week. The first step to my midwifery degree!

peepee · 04/01/2006 10:49

Imeant school not comfy shoes!!!!!!

peepee · 04/01/2006 10:48

I will probably be on line more from tomorrow. Back to work in the morning. I am not looking forward to it. I think i need a change of career. Been doing the same job for 15yrs. It's scary. I don't enjoy it any more. My outlook on life has changed. I don't want all the agro anymore. I am more settled at home and want a baby to complete everything. When I look at other female colleagues I realise how similar we all are. We are all in our thirties have done 10 plus years and then priorities change. Most want motherhood and marraige. When they get the motherhood side of it they are out of there. No looking back and are getting on fab in civvie street. I want to be there.
Enough moaning from me. I feel better after that though. Anyways will hang in there until i find out whats gonna happen with regards to my treatment for pregnancy. If i get told no chance I will leave the job and find something else. If I get told there is a chance I will hang on for monies etc.......

How are u all doing this morning?
CH, what's with the going back to scholl thingy? Have I missed something?

mumswish · 04/01/2006 10:40

you going back to school to learn or work CH? What ya doing there?

Coathanger · 04/01/2006 10:27

I'm just being a bit sad today (sad as in nerdy not sad as in unhappy) coz I will be on here all day!! Making the most of my freedom before starting at school next week! Won't be on so much after that.

diddle · 04/01/2006 10:22

CH - its normally busier on here when everyones at work, maybe they've all got lots to catch up on.

FirstNikki · 04/01/2006 10:21

Yes I will be floating from now on except around lunchtimes 12-1 now back at work and have to crack on, so to speak.

HC thinking of you and I am sure you will be fine xx

mumswish · 04/01/2006 10:20

Been doing a bit of work, but am bored again now. No-one has any work for me to do! I'm going to go and design my kitchen on the B&Q website I think!! lol

Coathanger · 04/01/2006 10:13

Its a bit slow on here today. Where is everyone? Are you all catching up on work after the xmas break?

Coathanger · 04/01/2006 10:03

Morning HC I used to suggest taking your left over choccies and goodies to the local old folkes home to get rid of them, or the hospital. I never did of course! hehehe!! And I would be happy with 9.3 if I was 5'7" but I'm only 5' so need to lose about a stone really I'm not "fat" but need to shed those lumps that have appeared on my lumps if you get my meaning I'm sure it will go if I stick to my diet - I plan to be slim when you lot see me in a couple of weeks (those of you who are going of course!)

HumphreysCorner · 04/01/2006 09:44

Morning ladies

When I was at Weight Watchers the leader suggested we bring in all our chocolates from Christmas and she would give them away-noooooooooooo waaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!

Boring food shopping today as have nothing in the house.

Coathanger my luvlie, good on you for dieting but if I was only 9st 3lb I wouldn't be dieting you are just fine as you are! All too aware that this will be me in July if all goes to plan but will be happy to get to 10st again. Just going through the paranoid stage at 14+4 as I can't feel anything and have a heart monitor thing which lets me hear my stomach gurgling and the TV downstairs but not really anything else. Only 6 weeks until the 20 week scan and then I might feel a tad more at ease.

diddle-you are v. strong to not find out the sex-I am soooo impatient-can't wait won't wait sort of girl Convinced it is a boy 'cos of the string test. Hope you are OK at 17+ weeks ((xx))

mumswish-brill news on your house completion-not long now. ((xx))

DD has come upstairs so I'm going to have to go as she will be up to no good as usual.

Have a good day and love to all.

(((xxx)))

mumswish · 04/01/2006 09:26

Congrats CH!! I havent even started mine yet, someone gave a me a box of chocs yesterday for xmas and havent finished them yet! when I finish them i'll start.

Coathanger · 04/01/2006 09:24

Thank you Nikki! I need a lot of luck!! Had my Weightwatchers toast (2 slices) with low fat spread and a cup of tea (skimmed milk) but was still hungry so had a "Go Ahead" strawberry mallow - yummy and very low in fat! Planning an apple round 11am then lunch about 12.30. This is going so well Weighted my self this morning and was flickering between 9st 3lb and 9st 4lb, whereas testerday it was flickering 9.5 and 9.4 - so pound already!!
