We are all jolly well going to smack the rat this month and grow a baby and we'll brook no argument. And probably eat some cake too.

Ladies....begin.

OP posts:
ScrambledSmegs · 11/11/2011 17:32

Eh-oop foodie-types! I just went into our local butchers and walked slap bang into Lorraine Pascale! She's filming her Christmas special at the moment. She is even more gorgeous in the flesh than she is on tv Envy.

PopcornMouse · 11/11/2011 17:15

Oh solars, I'm equally fudged off on your behalf about AF coming after such promising tardiness - and also pleased, too, so that you at least know what your cycles are doing and get on with smacking that rat! This will be The Month :)

Far, how long til we can start pestering you about ramekins? :o

Solars · 11/11/2011 17:03

Sorry this is a short post..

Biscuits good to hear your scan went well :)

What has happened to Bartlet hope she's ok

Farfalla I'm on CD1, which is good as I just want to get cracking with this next month. Those symptoms sound promising, real terrible timing indeed!

Hope everyone else is ok and hello to newbie x

PopcornMouse · 11/11/2011 16:28

Yay for scans! That's great news biscuits :)

What's up with Bartlet? Is it not good? :(

ScrambledSmegs · 11/11/2011 16:28

Ooh, very promising farfalla! And as you say, the timing could not be worse Smile.

PopcornMouse · 11/11/2011 16:27

You know what we're going to say, right? :o :o :o

farfallarocks · 11/11/2011 16:22

Oh so so sorry to hear about bartlet :(
Lots of brooking vibes going her way and hope that they may have just got it wrong :(

sweetie get SWI, great timing over the weekend

Gals, my boobs are KILLING ME, they are so sore
D'ya think there is any way DH's swimmers survived 3/4 days? I know its possible but I was really trying not to get my hopes up this month and we are off to India on Friday I actually don;t want to be pregnant this month, timing could not be worse now could it?

Biscuitsandtea · 11/11/2011 15:39

Thanks ladies - we're keeping it a surprise on the boy/girl thing.

Yes, poor Bartlet - I'm brooking a lot for them.

ScrambledSmegs · 11/11/2011 15:29

Yes, that's the one Sweetie! Funny how a lot of people were arguing with the OP about what she meant, and trying to tell her how she felt. Bizarre.

Sounds like it's going to be a fun weekend Chez Sweetie! Wink

SweetieDoesIt · 11/11/2011 15:23

Smegs I saw that too, poor OP bad choice of phrase cause of big bun fight!!! The clips of those twins was funny though. hope I am making sense and it is the same thread Not sure it is though.

Well good news from the Sweetie household, DH just rung to say he has his SA results and his swimmers are all OK. GrinGrinGrin Plus think things are rippening my side too, TMI alert but EWCM has put in a appearance.

Congrats Biscuits on the scan, must be lovely to see BabyBiscuits doing well.

farfallarocks · 11/11/2011 15:17

Hooray for brilliant scnas biscuits, yay!

ScrambledSmegs · 11/11/2011 15:14

Yay! Congrats Biscuits! Did you find out the sex or are you going to wait?

Is Bartlet around too? Just wanted to say I saw her news and am sending her loads of (((((hugs))))).

Biscuitsandtea · 11/11/2011 15:10

BLW = baby led weaning I think Popcorn.

Just had our 20 week scan and everything as it should be Smile

Hope you're all well xx

PopcornMouse · 11/11/2011 15:08

What's BLW?

I don't know, smegs. Current hairstyle is dull dull dull but I'm too lazy busy to be styling every morning like next door SAHM whose hairdryer wakes me up every single morning . It's quite long though, so maybe I'll get them to chop plenty off :)

ScrambledSmegs · 11/11/2011 14:44

Popcorn I don't know if there's a latest one as such. I accidentally clicked on a BLW thread which started out odd and turned nasty. And then there was the one about the baby nephew babbling video (OP poorly worded, cue bunfight). Now, more importantly, are you going for a full re-style, or just a trim? Grin

Whimsical have a lovely weekend. I agree, weekend mornings are the best for SWI - as long as it's the right timing! Damn my OPK's for going smiley on monday morning Angry.

Bean - a gig?! With a sofa?! Envy

PopcornMouse · 11/11/2011 14:27

Ooo what's the latest bunfight, smegs?

Oh whimsical, that's awful, I'm sorry! Good luck for the weekend :o

Bean that sounds lovely - I think I will take your advice and try and enjoy all the little things this weekend, and not stress :)

ScrambledSmegs · 11/11/2011 14:05

Flipping heck! What IS it with MN today (and yesterday)?! There are weird rucks going on all over the place, and I can't take it any more Sad. I'm hiding in here till it's over.

What? You mean this is for everyone?

beangrower · 11/11/2011 13:13
  • I LOVE trifle, thanks Sweetie. Sounds like you're in for a corker of a w'e!
beangrower · 11/11/2011 13:08

Hello all

Popcorn medal with sparkly ribbon for sex on Ov day. That should do it. One in the goal etc. Envy makes me feel miserable so I'm with you there - had gallons of it in mid 30s when friends were popping sprogs left, right and midfield while I couldn't even bag a decent sperm caddy fella. Had the joy of finding THE ONE and being updiffed with DS so fast (annoying to hear here, sorry folks) - that I didn't make the most of it. Back now to envy as the long-settled friends pop sprogs 3 and 4 (or 5 in one case). BUT - bugger it. The green-eye does make us feel crap so you just gotta think - that's going to be me and my sprog will be all mine and most gorgeous. (I know, not very convincing, am I?)

Welcome to newbies. Peeing on sticks is an art. I found it much easier with a digital OPK (smiley face kit) and am regular as clockwork: surge morning of d12. However, that has not made the iffiest bit of diff to updiffedness (tongue twister ahoy) I'm afraid. Still no pg. I really DO hope that knowing your cycle better - shaking hands, sipping from the same cocktail - will make it happen for you guys, though. Of course, you can avoid the stress of OPKs etc by having as much sex as possible (every other day) from day 8 to whatever number is about 12 days before your period. I imagine OPKs are v helpful to people who do not have regular cycles. Women, that is, of course, not 'people' Blush.

Went to a gig that also involved a sofa last night (and a glass of whiskey and ginger ale - just one, mind). Very pleasurable. And had chips and beans with DS for 11s. Feel a lot less stressed now. So here's to the simple joys, dear brookers. And may you come face to face with a fat whiskery rat to smack this weekend or VERY, VERY soon.

x

whimsicalname · 11/11/2011 12:49

Thank you everyone for your stick peeing wisdom. I am currently baking damson kuchen, which you're all invited to share.

Sorry to hear about the various miseries of child bearing friends. I was brought to tears in my office on Wednesday by photos of my friend's beautiful newborn. My young male colleagues thought I'd completely lost it.

Happy weekending to you all. I find a weekend morning most conducive to baby making. Well, at least to trying. Good luck!

SweetieDoesIt · 11/11/2011 11:36

Morning all

Real I am doing the same as you at the moment and just monitoring my cycles and then after Christmas give thing a bit more focus. I am a newbie to this TTC lark.

Popcorn it is very difficult when those closest seem to easily fall on, my SIL claims "accidents" with both theirs Hmm. Hope you have a lovely time being pampered and hope you get a shy stylist if they exist

Where is Imps with her symptoms do egg sarnies class as a symptom too???

Currently CD14 so thinking I may OV any day, DH birthday tomorrow so expect much SWI over the weekend.

farfallarocks · 11/11/2011 11:32

I am fine on most days, just some days I feel really tearful at the news.
Only in real life though. I am well happy when the rat smackers get updiffed :)

I am not at all proud of it though, it feels like a horrible emotion to have, envy.

ScrambledSmegs · 11/11/2011 11:21

Oh god, far, that sounds really difficult for you Sad.

farfallarocks · 11/11/2011 11:18

Slaps popcorn round the face with a kipper and shouts through megaphone

PopcornMouse · 11/11/2011 11:14

Yes, exactly! :(

Another of my SILs has a very young DC and so they go out doing kiddy stuff together every other weekend and DH and I get left out (not in a mean way, they just don't think of us) because we are barren childless. It can be a bit isolating. It's like there's a mother's club but I'm not invited to the treehouse.

Oh gosh, I'm having a woe is me day. Slap me, someone!
