Conception

When's the best time to get pregnant? Use our interactive ovulation calculator to work out when you're most fertile and most likely to conceive.

We are all jolly well going to smack the rat this month and grow a baby and we'll brook no argument. And probably eat some cake too.

Welcome back Bean - wow 16 dpo - surely you are pregnant!

Congratulations DrWhimsical that is wonderful news!

GreenOlives · 26/11/2011 18:44

Hello again ladies, just a quickie from me to say thanks for all the other lovely welcomes and boo hiss to AF bean. Off to get ready for work again now - working on a Saturday night is just not cricket!!
Will try and catch up properly tomorrow. x

beangrower · 26/11/2011 18:03

btw Musical - congrats on graduating so quickly. Hope the bump is glowing and growing. Smile

beangrower · 26/11/2011 15:15

Ah - thanks Pop and Munkiii; talking here makes a big difference.

17 months is hard going Munkiii and I know it was harder because of MC problems. Hope you have lots of fun with SWI now though. I think you are a strong, brave girl. I always wonder what it is that suddenly makes a PG take after 17 months not 17 weeks (for some people)....

I have to be tougher about the whole thing, but I'm also getting on and it's more a question of whether it's better to stop pushing so hard and accept that we are a small but perfectly formed family with 1DC and nothing wrong with that either. Pregnancy and childbirth seem more daunting at 40 than they did at 37 anyway...

DP is lovely but there's not a lot he can do to console. I am trying not to be the mess I was last month.

Pop: I have just phoned private clinic to book tests for early next week (though even they didn't seem to quite manage it and are ringing back). I had my d21 progesterone done 10 days ago, but GP didn't ever respond. He said he doesn't respond unless there's a problem but I'm not particularly reassured by his approach. So will go private. DP says he will book with GP for SA - they should at least give him that as I expect they will be bowled over to see a man 'turn himself in' rather than be dragged in by a Mrs.

Anyway Pop get on with working up your PG symptoms - I just know you're diffed. And well done for Tescos ambush (in your condition too). Sounds good that fishy-rice.

x

musicalmrs · 26/11/2011 15:12

bean, so sorry about AF :( We are all brooking no argument for you for next month.

I'm one of the PSEPPs that frequent the thread - I am one of people who testifies as to the wonder of this thread by the fact I got my BFP during my first month of no brooking (early Sept). Several months of TTCing beforehand, and a bit of lurking but not officially joining clearly wasn't enough brooking power...!

Munkii, will be brooking no argument for you this month too.

Swordfish and monkfish sound lovely Popcorn! We braved Tesco earlier too. I do most of my food shopping online, because of a bad back (can't push the trolley, or walk toooooo far in a mad supermarket!), but had to go in for some bits for tomorrow, when we have guests round. Suffice to say, I'm not a fan of supermarkets at weekends :| Think I worked out an estimated due date every month, so I won't judge... ;)

Munkiii · 26/11/2011 15:03

Sorry about all the disappointing news today Sad

bean have a chat with DH, I know you must feel very down but it took me 17 months to conceive DD. What I am trying to say is that it is very frustrating when things don't happen when we want them to and I understand.

We are all here for you, and will never stop brooking!

As for me, SWI has started again in the Munkiii House. Two weeks since the miscarriage started, didn't wait after first mc and conceived DD straight away so hoping for another miracle.... Maybe my body needs practise runs each time? Faint line on my OPK today so hoping to pop soon!

PopcornMouse · 26/11/2011 15:01

Oh bean :(
Have you had any tests done or anything? Sorry that I have forgotten Blush

musical yay! I haven't checked estimated due dates August 7th honestly Blush

I've just been to Tesco (which was hell, but that was to be expected) and bought some reduced swordfish and monkfish to make a risotto with for tea :d

beangrower · 26/11/2011 14:25

Yep - there we go. AF is the bitch I thought she was - turned up on cd30 just to keep me guessing - but at least I didn't waste a test.

Not it tears like last month though.

Beginning to think I need to consider chucking in the towel and getting on with enjoying life with DP and DS.

beangrower · 26/11/2011 14:16

Hi Musical - so where are you at in your cycle? And when are you due to test? Smile

beangrower · 26/11/2011 11:48

Sweetie - I do recommend CB digital OP sticks. I know they are spenny but very easy to interpret. I bought a pack of 20 and they have lasted about 8 months as I quickly realised that cd12 was usually my day and only ever tested 11/12. As you can tell they haven't made me pregnant but they help you in that you know you're getting the LH surge (tho' doesn't guarantee ov) and then you can guess when AF is due pretty much once you've worked out LP... hth

musicalmrs · 26/11/2011 11:41

bean, can't believe you're still holding out before testing!

Sorry it was a BFN Sweetie, but it's not over til the the red lady makes her appearance! Enjoy your boozy lunch :)

Popcorn, constipation is a definite updiffed symptom - was one of my first! How exciting :D When's she due?

beangrower · 26/11/2011 11:38

Hi Pop - you're sweet, but I'm only basing this on a smiley face at cd12. I don't chart so I have no idea when I actually ov (but reckon cd13 as I usually only make it to cd28 at the latest when AF arrives and so that makes a 27-day cycle afaik). If I ov'd cd14 and had a 16-day LP for once I could still get AF tomorrow... Just totally petrified of blowing it again on stick-p'ing and getting a BFN. Did this last month and it really got to me; having said that I think I've done it only 2x possibly 3 in the year that I've been TTC so have tried to practice restraint....

How are your PG symptoms coming along anyway? I have had a cleaning frenzy so actually you're damn right, I'm deffo duffed. Grin

PopcornMouse · 26/11/2011 10:04

bean afaik, 1dpo is the first day after ovulation day - so, ovulation day > 1dpo > 2dpo etc :)
Bean, you are sooooooo pg. I mean come oooon 17dpo? That's late late late!

That's pants sweetie. I hope it's just too early?

SweetieDoesIt · 26/11/2011 09:55

I think OV happened Fri 11th which was DC14. I am not the most accurate tracker of these things so it is pretty much from reading my signs.

I keep toying with the idea of charting or OPK sticks. After Christmas I am going up the anti and go for it, of course I will not need either as am already preggo.

beangrower · 26/11/2011 09:45

Oh Sweetie - how crap UNLESS you need to retest in 3 days? I'm hoping the evil witch stays away. What day do you think you ov'd then?

SweetieDoesIt · 26/11/2011 09:30

BFN this morning but at least I can go enjoy my boozy girly lunch guilt free. Very strange as now cd29, 15dpo - as you said bean bet the evil witch arrives this afternoon now that I have tested [grr emoticon]

Congratulation DrWhimsi - has a lovely ring to it.

Welcome Green you sound to have had a very tough time, loving the positive attitude.

Still brooking VERY hard for Beedle and bean and what we already know.

beangrower · 26/11/2011 09:09

Hi Stasi btw - sorry missed a couple of your posts. Impressed that you are knitting a man-sized jumper! Go girl.

Hope Christmas is going to be manageable for you and you have some little people to focus on. You are so right - it makes Christmas make sense. Iykwim.

beangrower · 26/11/2011 09:05

Ah - you're/your all over the place. Blush

beangrower · 26/11/2011 09:04

Wow - I sense a veritable schmorgasbord (sp?!) of BFPs right the horizon. Beedle, Pop - who else? This thread is awesommmmmme (can you tell I'm down with the kids?)!

Well, I am still holding out. cd30/17dpo (at a guess) and no AF. Feel a bit queasy - both physically and mentally (pregnancy, childbirth, crikey). Or is AF just being the biggest b.i.t.c.h. ever?

Can you all tell me: if you ov on cd13 is cd14 then 1dpo? Sorry - my maths/thinking is pretty mushy. I guess I'm wondering if - like your period - the day of ov is also called 1dpo?

As if it effin matters, quite frankly. I'm either diffed or not and will find out Monday morning unless I cave in tomorrow. Am thinking ramekin this time. Had lots of dreams of missing the stick last night, very messy and couldn't get a test result. Frustrating! Grin

Hello Imps - you're post made me Smile, as per. Hope the noggin of vino hit the spot. And the shagging. Grin

PopcornMouse · 26/11/2011 08:54

Ooooo we have POASers due today do we? Do it do it do it! :o

PopcornMouse · 26/11/2011 08:53

Beedle it was only twenty minutes of exercise Blush but I literally had to drag myself up the stairs by the bannister for three days afterwards. She was meeeean!

I have a tummy ache today, it's all crampy - I was sure AF was coming, but she's not due yet and my temp's actually up. And I've been constipated (sorry tmi Blush ) for about 4 days now (probably the source of the cramping?) which is unusual and I've been eating plenty of fibre.

BeedleTheBard · 26/11/2011 08:16

What no news of pee sticks yet this morning? bean , sweetie I'm talking to you

I don't think I said congratulations to DrWhim yesterday, so Congratulations :) hope you had a lovely evening celebrating.

hello Green, you've been having a really tough time ttc, hope it improves now you've joined us

popcorn what exactly was the killer session that delayed ovulation? Glad it was a delayed ovulation though not an anovulatory cycle.

No real news from me, 13dpo, still a bit crampy (not normal for me) my temps are neither high nor low so perhaps I'm still in with a chance (brooking no argument emoticon)

TheLittleFriend · 25/11/2011 19:31

Welcome green. Sounds like you have had a really rough road ttc so far. I hope we can offer you some cheer and a quick bfp.

DrWhim I love that we can call you Dr! Congratulations!

Munkiii · 25/11/2011 19:04

musicalmrs · 25/11/2011 18:54
