Conception

When's the best time to get pregnant? Use our interactive ovulation calculator to work out when you're most fertile and most likely to conceive.

We are all jolly well going to smack the rat this month and grow a baby and we'll brook no argument. And probably eat some cake too.

Ooh yes, the tutorial!

Well I've been eating brazil nuts for a few weeks and having cinnamon on my porridge because I like it I read it was good for blood flow to the reproductive organs. Oh and I'm pretty sure I ovulated when I was away on my work thingy (and in fact I thought this month was a write off because I was away from days 10-15) but it must have been the SWI on the day I left that did it (TMI?) and fortunately I ov'd on day 10.

DH has been taking zinc and a multivitamin and both of us have cut down on booze, but who knows if any of this helped.

Who's next?

GenericDietCola · 22/11/2011 09:15

GenericDietCola · 22/11/2011 09:11

Oh you guys!

Biscuitsandtea · 22/11/2011 09:11

(I can't even be cross with you for keeping us waiting Wink)

Right I have to take the car to the garage now - I hope they understand why we're late Hmm

GenericDietCola · 22/11/2011 09:11

Scrambled how are you today?

Beedle sore boobs are an excellent sign - mine are still sore, which was why I was reasonably confident I was up the duff. And I also have a nice big spot on my chin!

Is it Sweetie who's next to test? Then Beedle?

Solars · 22/11/2011 09:10

GenericDietCola · 22/11/2011 09:08

I'm sorry, I'm sorry! Too busy in the mornings at home to get on the computer so I've had to wait until I got to work. Anyway, I won't keep you all in suspenders... it was a BFP! Whoop whoop! I'm sooo pleased and excited! It was worth waiting until I was properly late as I got a nice, strong line, no squinting required.

Thank you so much to everyone who has been brooking for me - it's wonderful to be part of this group

Have I'm glad things are looking up for you and I hope it all goes smoothly from here on in. At least you have an explanation and plan of action and it's really great to have you back amongst the rat smackers.

whimsicalname · 22/11/2011 09:04

Aargh I've got so much work to do, and all I can think of is generic PIAR.

Come on lady, out with it.

Good news from the appt faith. Hopefully you'll both relax into a good bit of baby making in the new year.

Now, who can tell me what AF stands for? I mean, I've worked out what it means, but what does it actually stand for?

Biscuitsandtea · 22/11/2011 09:03
Solars · 22/11/2011 08:55

That is really good news about your DH Have

Now where o where is our Generic?

Biscuitsandtea · 22/11/2011 08:53

Although I can totally unserstand feeling overwhelmed by it all. Aside from anything else you've been waiting for that appt for months - it's been a huge huge thing coming so I'm not surprised it was a lot to take in

Biscuitsandtea · 22/11/2011 08:52

At least though fixing one should hopefully fix the other too iyswim? At least it isn't something where fixing DH would decrease ttc chances so there's a nice bit of goal congruence going on with is good news indeed :)

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 22/11/2011 08:51

Yes good to know it's treatable regardless. Got a bit overwhelmed in the appointment and just wanted to cry at the whole 'been ttc for 2 years' because there's no overnight magic solution. Ultimately though I just want DH to be better and to be diffed

Biscuitsandtea · 22/11/2011 08:44

that sounds really promising Have - it must be a relief to feel like you have a sort of plan of action - and in fact a back up plan and a back up back up plan?

PopcornMouse · 22/11/2011 08:42

Thanks solars I'm hungover staaarving :d

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 22/11/2011 08:42

Yes bics vis they're antidepressants it's gradual withdrawal over a month. Then retest blood levels 6 weeks after that. So off meds by Christmas, blood tests then consultant review in February. It's chicken and egg really, he's had symptoms for a while but it's not clear if the meds caused the high prolactin or if it was there all along. They can treat if it's not the meds iykwim. So either stopping the meds will improve his hormone levels and we'll be sorted or it won't and he'll need medication for the hormones. There's a possibility the mri scan will find a noncancerous tumour causing the problem. That might require surgery, not as bad as it sounds. So regardless we have a plan and things should be resolved by spring.
Where is generic?!

Solars · 22/11/2011 08:39
PopcornMouse · 22/11/2011 08:35

That's great news have you'll be upduffed in no time :o

smegs definitely make a gp appointment. And take some multivits too, the last thing you need is anemia :)

Biscuitsandtea · 22/11/2011 08:30

So, Have, am I right in thinking that they need to withdraw your Dh's meds to get him balanced out hormonally again? Have they made a start on it already or have you got to have another appt?
