Hello - after a while of TTC with nothing but a chemical pregnancy I have purchased myself a shiny new CBFM in the hope it will make things a bit less stressful. I was an advocate of just having SWI everyother day but in reality that it quite a lot for me and DH and the poor thing works very long hours so not always possible.

I'm starting this thread for anyone else who's started TTC using the CBFM in the hope we can give eachother a little support etc.....

I'm on day 5 today so think i have to start POAS tomorrow......

Anyone out there who wants to join the journey?!!

Thank you! Need to retest in the morning, trying not to be too excited but can't stop GrinGrinGrin

Elizadoesdolittle · 06/12/2011 17:20

Chocchip, that's fantastic news. Huge congratulations. I will have to treat myself to one as a Christmas present. I will join this thread when I am up and running.
Thanks for the advice and all the best for your pregnancy. Smile

Chocchip88 · 06/12/2011 15:39

eliza I was in a similar situation to you, irregular cycles and not enough energy to SWI often enough to cover all bases! Using the bonkometer we managed to make sure we dtd at the right time. It took the guessing out of it for us.
And.....and.....I think I may have just got my BFP!

So yes! I would def recommend it to someone with irregular cycles Grin

Elizadoesdolittle · 06/12/2011 15:24

Hi girls, I'm after a bit of advice please. I have been debating whether to invest in a CBFM for a while now. I have extremley irregular cycles and not sure if it would work for me. My last 4 cycles have been 29, 43, 39 and 33 days long. The only information I can find suggests that you should have cycles between 21-42 days long. I've tracked 10 cycles and only twice gone over the 42 day mark.

I have one DD so know that I do (did) ovulate but I have no idea when. I just don't have the energy to SWI every day through a cycle (especially as my cycles tend to be long) and don't think the charting route is for me.

Do you think it would be worth me investing in a CBFM or should I just use opks for a while to see if I can gain any information from that? Do CBFM work with irregular cycles?

Thanks in advance and good luck to you all. May you all have a BFP very soon.

iloveberries · 06/12/2011 15:00

yes, secret i am finding that the CBFM is giving me reassurance that i am ovving as i have seen the egg both months, BUT, this month is was on CD 15 so i guess the latest i could OV would be CD17 which is a lot earlier than ever before from my charting of temp, CM etc.
Since before CBFM we have been DTD EOD all cycle and been exhausted. DTD last night, and night before and told DH he had to put out tonight and then his work was done (albeit communicated in a nicer way than that!) He couldn't believe he was only 'required' for 3 shags. bless him i think he was secretly pleased as he loves his sleep!!!
God it's hard when you want it so bad isn't it!

haha secret! Don't know about your DH but mine's always 'poking me' for sex so this should make his year!
I looked at the lines only based on this conversation and on my 1st peak had 2 clear lines and 2nd peak a fainter second line but definitely there..... f only i could get a second line on a PG test :(

This month I had 4 low days, 2 highs then 2 peaks (and i guess tomorrow a high)
nearly - if you can go for it tonight as well then i would.

We DTD on the last high and first peak and i am going to try for tonight as well. Then I feel i've done what i can!

letting this is my first month but I had 5 highs, 2 peaks then a high (so far).

wondered if i'm looking too much into it but on my first peak i had 2 faint lines, second peak i had one stronger line and one fainter and today, the high after the 2 peaks I had 2 faint lines. When do you think ovulation was based on this? even typing this i'm thinking i'm looking too much into it and should just sit tight. wondering if it's worth dtd today too though- didn't manage it yesterday as didn't get to see dh as we were walking opposig shifts. any thoughts?

iloveberries · 05/12/2011 17:06

hi letting i have a few highs before the peaks, then 1 high after the peak (which is automatically programmed in)....

zara - i would press the m button tomorrow........

I'm going to try for tonight and tomorrow - see if DH is man enough for it ;) I just want this so much (as we all do) and am fed up of waiting!!!

Thanks secret I'll have to keep an eye out..

A quick question but I had two peak days and then my high day afterwards. For some reason I was expecting my High days to be before my peak ones. Is this right??

Zara1984 · 05/12/2011 15:33

So AF has arrived (hooray - very excited - that means this cycle we're officially starting TTC!) and so I get to use my new shiny CBFM! But I'm confused about whether I should set m to be today or tomorrow (ie do I wait until tomorrow to press the m button, making tomorrow CD1?)! Help!

Noticed AF had started at about 10.30am this morning. This would be within the 6-hour timeframe I'm wanting to use - 6am to 12pm. CBFM manual says:
"If your period starts in the night, or in the morning before your chosen m Button setting time, you can press the m Button when you wish that morning. If your period starts during the day, after your chosen m Button setting time, you should WAIT until the following morning before pressing the m button. You should set this as day 1 of your cycle"

Soooo... reading the above I'm presuming that I should press the button tomorrow morning and set tomorrow to be CD2? Because my period started during my timeframe today?

Help.... total noob here as you can tell.... this is what happens when you give a overthinking hormonal lawyer a piece of fertility technology :S

Does this feel like the longest month ever!!!

I had my high and peak really early on, days 9, 10 and 11 so it feels as though it's dragging. No wonder I wasn't having any luck as my cycle is 30 days and the calendars were saying my fertile days were a week after, when they really were Confused

But it does make for a very long run to AF days.

We dtd on 1st peak, couldn't manage second peak (excuse the pun!), and dtd again on the high after peaks.
If you can manage then do all 3 if not I would do what we did. Should ensure you have the right stuff there at the right time anyway!

iloveberries · 05/12/2011 08:43

hi all - CD 15 here and got the eggy sign this morning.... wasn't expecting till CD 17 or later!

So, question:

we DTD last night but i imagine i should be DTD tonight and tomorrow, what do you all think? I don't know if DH can perform 3 nights in a row!!! But I don't want to miss the opportuity.

Last month we DTD on the first peak only.....

p.s. i had 2 lines on the stick this morning

Hi all, my CBFM has broken :-( so I'm waiting for a replacement/repair. In the meantime, I've just used an ovulation calendar from on here, it said 30th-5th but have only managed to DTD on 2nd and 3rd so not holding out much hope this month, my friend at work who is 40 has just had a BFP as well, so am pleased for her but feel a bit rubbish as she said she felt bad for telling me coz she knows how much I want it, makes me feel desperate and sad really!!!good luck everyone! x

Chocchip88 · 04/12/2011 09:16

Excellent news both!
I noticed I had 2 lines when I has my peak so I think you are safe to be excited! Also it fits with the length of your cycles Smile

Well.... I got an egg today cd13 (of typically 25-27 day cycle) so I was thrilled. HOWEVER, I need a bit of advice here as I'm not sure I'm getting prematurely excited- I did the test this morning but half hour/ 40 mins later I realised I hadn't inserted it properly so re-did it. Then I got the egg. So the test wasn't within the 15 min window. Does this matter much? I also noticed 2 lines on the ov stick today (a bit faint but both there), whereas on previous days I've only had one strong line. Does this sound in line for getting the egg?

Thanks for the advice.

hetty hope AF arrives for you soon and you can start afresh on a new cycle.

nearly good to see you back, hope you're not finding it too stressful, I was convinced I wasn't going to see a peak, AF had not long returned and I'm still bf and I was thrilled to see a peak on my first CBFM cycle. So hopefully you will get the same and at least allay your fears about ovulation.

No news here, day 9 of 2ww, normally I am desperately symptom spotting but have no symptoms whatsoever, made up or otherwise!
