Hello - after a while of TTC with nothing but a chemical pregnancy I have purchased myself a shiny new CBFM in the hope it will make things a bit less stressful. I was an advocate of just having SWI everyother day but in reality that it quite a lot for me and DH and the poor thing works very long hours so not always possible.

I'm starting this thread for anyone else who's started TTC using the CBFM in the hope we can give eachother a little support etc.....

I'm on day 5 today so think i have to start POAS tomorrow......

Anyone out there who wants to join the journey?!!

Am really hoping this is going to help, have cycles of 38 days so no idea when OV occurs!!

Fingers crossed iloveberries we'll be doing the 2WW with you Thanks

loveisagirlnameddaisy · 09/11/2011 15:44

Thank you iloveberries! Not much to report, made my midwife's appt yesterday so just have to sit back and wait. Have worked out that 12 weeks falls on Christmas Eve so I'll probably have to wait ages for my scan. Bummer.

Good luck this month with your 2WW. Hope it flies by! :)

hey girls

yes crystal people do get BFPs on high days - quite a few ladies have never seen a peak and still got pg so don't worry :)

We dtd last night and that's it now for the month - well i'm sure there will be some SWI for fun but the militant EOD has stopped ;)

loveis - aaah, daisy, what a pretty name. Hope your pregnancy is going well.

hi hetty and welcome!!!

I have been on another thread on this board about general TTC and a few of the ladies on there have just bought CBFMs so no doubt they will be along soon :)

Hope we all get lucky! I have had funny tummy pains today which logically i know mean jack but i can't help but think "ooh, maybe something good is going on in my tubes" am trying the visioning technique and visioning a lovely egg meeting and becoming firmly attached to a lovely sperm!!

iloveberries I know how you feel, we dtd 4 days last week and Saturday and Monday night but my peak came Tuesday but I was worn out so didn't DTD am worried I haven't done it on the right days, the CBFM said peak yesterday and today but don't think we'll be able to dtd tonight either, let's hope we've done enough!! So people do get a BFP on just the high days then? There is hope!

Chocchip88 · 08/11/2011 07:49

Not v good at name checking on phone but 'hello' to fellow new people!

It says in the leaflet that as long as you've had at least 2 periods then the monitor should work if you're breastfeeding. We'll soon find out!

HettyTurner · 07/11/2011 21:16

Hi guys, can I join too? I started my monitor this month, on CD15 and had highs since CD7, no peak yet.

I have PCOS and have only been ov'ing for the last few cycles, and we keep missing it so I'm REALLY hoping this is going to work.

loveisagirlnameddaisy · 07/11/2011 20:56

chocchip you're right that b'feeding can mess up your cycle (hormones stay elevated after pregnancy so the body assumes it's not back to 'normal' - and some people even use it as a form of contraception), however i know of a few people who have got pregnant while b'feeding.

Not sure if the hormone levels will confuse the monitor though?

loveisagirlnameddaisy · 07/11/2011 20:53

Yes! She is called Daisy. Wink Wasn't very original was I? Grin

And my partner was very stoic about all the BDing we had to do although by the final evening he was asking me to 'seduce him'. I think he needed a little help!!

iloveberries · 07/11/2011 20:46

love is is your DD called daisy?!

Welcome hercule and booo to AF 1st time, still at least you know your cycle is all ok.

I feel sooooo shattered i don't think i can dtd tonight!! But reassuring to know love is managed to get a BFP without going at it both days of peak.... surely i've done enough this month.....

chocchip keep us posted..... not sure about b.feeding implications....

Fingers Crossed for lots of summer babies from this thread :)

Hello can I join in here please? Just borrowed my SILs monitor. On day three of first cycle...

1sttimeBlondie · 07/11/2011 18:45

Hi Ladies AF arrived today so looking forward to POAS again! Grin

Chocchip88 · 07/11/2011 17:36

Loveis - congratulations!

Iloveberries - we haven't really tried for that long, this month will be month 3. I have a lovely little boy already - 12 months old. I used to have such a regular cycle but I think the fact I'm still breastfeeding is messing things up! I have no idea if I'm ovulating let alone when and really don't have the energy to SWI often enough to cover all possible dates! I'd be very impressed if you managed it 4 nights in a row Wink
Good luck to everyone this month!

loveisagirlnameddaisy · 07/11/2011 16:28

iloveberries thankyou! We tried every other day throughout the highs and on the peak day as well. Only the first peak day, as I know the second peak day on the CBFM is an automatic reading its pre-programmed to give you.

I also used it with my first LO and it took about four months that time. I know a lot of people aren't sure if it's accurate but for someone with irregular cycles, I don't know of any other way of being really sure - and it gives you those all important high days as well as the peaks which a LOT of Mumsnetters say they conceived on (even if they didn't get a peak!).

xx

iloveberries · 07/11/2011 13:45

loveis - congratulations!! very happy for you. i am enjoying the fact it takes the wondering out too.

did you go for it on both peak days and in the run up to?

OP posts:
loveisagirlnameddaisy · 07/11/2011 13:16

Hi all you lovely ladies

Just wanted to say it DOES work! Have just conceived no. 2 on first month of using the CBFM - tried for two months prior to that but not particularly well... :)

I like it because it takes the wondering out of the equation - my cycle is 34 days usually so it's anyone's guess when I actually ovulate.

Good luck all!
x

iloveberries · 07/11/2011 13:10

hey chocchip - welcome :)

I think you are right - we probably should get on it again tonight... My GP told me women were most fertile the day after ovulation so i had wondered whether to skip tonight and go for it tomorrow..... i don't think DH (or i) could manage 4 nights on the trot!

how long have you been TTC for? (if you don't mind me asking) xx
