Hello - after a while of TTC with nothing but a chemical pregnancy I have purchased myself a shiny new CBFM in the hope it will make things a bit less stressful. I was an advocate of just having SWI everyother day but in reality that it quite a lot for me and DH and the poor thing works very long hours so not always possible.

I'm starting this thread for anyone else who's started TTC using the CBFM in the hope we can give eachother a little support etc.....

I'm on day 5 today so think i have to start POAS tomorrow......

Anyone out there who wants to join the journey?!!

Hi, I'm a newbie to CB Grin. I have medical issues so want to ttc asap. Just started my first cycle yesterday. Daft question but am I right that when it tells you, you poas and then replace the lid BEFORE putting it back in the monitor? How on earth does the machine 'read' it with the lid on? Or have I totally misunderstood it Hmm

Hello All

Hope everyone is well.

Due to having a miscarriage in January it has made me even more determined to have a child. We feel ready now after waiting a while :)

My partner and I bought the monitor and sticks and luckily on our second month it came up with my peak. They are expensive but hopefully so worthwhile.

Never give up :)

HettyTurner · 08/01/2012 21:04

DeeLite me too! And hate being weighed at the doctors for the exact same reason!

Congratulations poirot great news!!

CD37 for me today and no AF, but I did get some spotting today so maybe it'll arrive tomorrow.

I was think the next month I might not start POSs until CD 12 or something just so that I don't get a false early positive, I don't think it'll effect the monitor too much.

DeeLite · 04/01/2012 17:04

Gosh Lexie, I'm really shocked that your PCT draws the line at 37. Hope we're not living in the same area. Will your health insurance cover you? Mine says it does after 12 months of trying but I'm not sure what hoops they would want you to jump through to prove you'd been trying 12 months - dated photographs of us DTD no doubt.

I hate being weighed in a doctor's surgery as they weigh with clothes on etc whereas I usually weigh myself in the morning after I pee but before I dress or eat so as to get the best possible reading Xmas Grin.

I agree with Deelite CBFM and test sticks can be sold on ebay to recoup most of your expenditure. I tend to have at least 2 boxes but bought last lot off of Amazon - 40 sticks for about £30 .... Boots is outrageously expensive!!

Well I had my appointment with nurse today to start fertility referral rolling. She was checking progesterone level, rubella status etc and I was also being tested for clamydia which has never been done before - that wasn't nice at all and if I had known i was dropping my knickers the downstairs department would have been tidied up (I am so glad I shower in the morning and not a night) I have discovered I am not as tall as I thought I was subsequently I am fatter than I knew I was and I am 'obese' yuck, yuck, yuck. This is an added incentive to shift the weight.

She confirmed that my PCT draws the line at 37 so being 41 no hope of NHS treatment it will all have to be private so we need to think really carefully to what extent we are prepared to go to. In the first instance I just want to find out why my body is producing silly cycles, am I entering menopause early etc and then let us see what happens. Will sit down with OH over the next day or so and talk money and see what we are prepared to spend on our quest for a baby.

So 2 weeks time back to docs to talk over results.

Hope you are all doing ok!!

PopcornMouse · 04/01/2012 14:05

Thanks both! They are boxes of 20. So testing every day til CD26 would be enough?

DeeLite · 04/01/2012 13:56

Hey popcorn. Don't worry too much about over-investing in test sticks as an unopened box can usually be sold for close to the retail price on ebay. I started out by buying 20 last month (my first CBFM cycle) and bought another 40 sticks this cycle partly in the hope that I'll tempt fate but also in the knowledge that I can re-sell them on ebay if when I get pg.

JNO18 · 03/01/2012 21:02

You;ll prob need more than one box popcorn. I've only done one cycle on it but your 1st one it'll ask you to test from day 6, and if you're not ov'ing until 18 you'll need at least 12 sticks if not more. So actually if you have a box of 20 sticks you should be fine, but if you have a box of 10 you might need another

PopcornMouse · 03/01/2012 11:05

I should also add i've been ttc almost a year, so I'm fairly sure I ov about CD18-CD25 :o but I'd like the surety of a CBFM iykwim :)

PopcornMouse · 03/01/2012 11:04

Hi!

I've just ordered a CBFM today, so I should be able to start testing Thursday which will be CD4 - hopefully I can just sneak in on this cycle :o

I have longish cycles - my last were 31, 38 and 33 days - will 1 box of sticks be enough do you reckon?

MrsHerculePoirot · 02/01/2012 21:04

Hi Lexie, I reckon you missed the window. I had that one day, even though I had saved my urine it wouldn't let me do it later in day after window. It will ask you to test tomorrow though I should think and so you probably won't miss peak I reckon.

KPT083 · 02/01/2012 18:14

Hello All,

Can I join in?
We're trying the CBFM this year, all done out trying to guess when i'm ov as my cycle is never the same 21 - 29 days :(

good luck to every one and each BFP gives me hope x

Lexie1970 · 02/01/2012 13:14

Hi everyone.

CBFM seems to be playing up today and wonder if anybody else has experienced this:

On CD11 and started using test sticks on CD6 as requested. Had lows and this morning it didn't request a test stick which seems to be peculiar but as I am typing this I actually slept in really late and didn't test until after 10.00am when I normally test about 7.30 - do you think it missed its 'window'

hope you are all doing ok?

MrsHerculePoirot · 01/01/2012 18:45

Thanks Chocchip88 - funnily enough it was you telling me the days on the monitor that you got your first highs and peaks that coincided exactly with mine that made me feel that this was going to be the month!!!

I really hope 2012 brings everyone else a BFP too!

Chocchip88 · 01/01/2012 17:26

poirot many congratulations! You must be thrilled, great start to the year Grin

MistletoePoirot · 30/12/2011 19:15

Thanks Lexie I am - although still very nervous and can't quite believe it. We have been trying for a year so I think the monitor really did help!

Lexie1970 · 30/12/2011 15:15

Congratulations mistletoe you must be thrilled!!!

MistletoePoirot · 30/12/2011 08:00

BFP!!!!! With the digital one this morning!!! I still can't quite believe it...

MistletoePoirot · 29/12/2011 23:29

I did this morning on one of those clear blue ones that makes a cross. There was possibly a faint line, but I wasn't certain. I bough two digital ones today and will test tomorrow with one and see... I have had butterflies all day thinking about it!

Peaks might have been right, but maybe some other reason I reckon. Your body probably knows if something not exactly right if you get what I mean...

HettyTurner · 29/12/2011 20:54

Mistletoepoirot - have you tested yet? I have tested 5 times and all BFN and still no af. Monitor must have been wrong with my peaks Xmas Sad i didn't think that could happen, but it must have for me...

MistletoePoirot · 27/12/2011 12:21

Hope you are all having nice Christmases - I am so desperate to test... Due Thursday/ Friday ish...

MistletoePoirot · 22/12/2011 23:17

I also didn't get peak first month but had out of date sticks. Reset monitor completely and got peak second time. Just waiting and waiting now...!

HettyTurner · 21/12/2011 19:16

I didn't get a peak the first month, but I did the next. Sometimes it doesn't notice it in the first cycle.

I'm 9DPO and SS like a mad woman, OH is not helping he thinks I'm pregnant. Prob is I've had all these symptoms before when not pregnant so they don't mean anything. I do have sore boobs though - couldn't wait to get my bra off tonight, and I have a pretty intense headache like when I was pregnant...

Just off to hide the pee-sticks it is def too early to test tomorrow!

Zara1984 · 21/12/2011 06:55

Hmmmm still waiting for a peak here! My first cycle using it, currently CD16 and have been getting highs since CD12! Dutifully shagging every day on high!

Have others experienced this on their first CBFM cycle? My last two cycles (first off the pill) were 35 and then 31 days long. Assuming the standard luteal phase length of 14 days, am guessing I am normal and can expect to see peak tomorrow or on the next few days after that..... Right??

Got to use all 20 sticks in the box now rats!
