Here we go yet again...

OP posts:
possiblemaybebaby · 24/10/2011 20:43

I am a bad one for makeup too, I'm like a magpie!

Yes, count proper flow as CD1. Not that AF is coming your way anytime soon Shiny Grin

GenericDietCola · 24/10/2011 20:41

By the way, re tilted uterus - I have a DD, so it obviously wasn't a problem for me and I was one of those annoying people who got pregnant really quickly (after an earlier mc). I am getting my comeuppance now although I really wasn't smug - I did not go on about how easy it was to get pregnant and did NOT post scan pictures etc on Facebook. I am a good girl - please may I have another baby? And please may all of the lovely Brooking ladies have one (or two) as well? Thank you Universe.

shinyblackgrape · 24/10/2011 20:40

Possible - love clarins too. I have the extra comfort cleaning cream for night time and it is A.Mazing!

I love everything hair and make up related and the wedding was just one big excuse!

Can I ask a quick question - if AF starts late on the Sunday but only a very, very small bit with proper flow on the Monday, should Monday be CD1?

possiblemaybebaby · 24/10/2011 20:38

Shiny Dermalogica is lovely isn't it. Love their face masks too. Am also a big fan of Clarins. Only really got into nice skin care in the run up to my wedding, and now I am addicted Grin

Keeping everything crossed for Generic, Cake and Scrambled

shinyblackgrape · 24/10/2011 20:34

Far - big hugs. I don't have anything else to add to the excellent advice above. Am keeping everything crossed for you

Generic - I have tilted uterus too. I hadn't even thought it might cause problems. Have always presumed not so glad to see that Far has been reassured and I have no need to consult Dr Google!

Imps - Snurk re the process. Make sure you draaaaaag this out [hgrin]

Possible - agree with Imps re the flour.

Re spots: I must thoroughly recommend Dermalogica. The best skin care I have ever used. Particularly the daily microfoliant

GenericDietCola · 24/10/2011 20:18

Farfalla ta for advice re LP! I have a tilted uterus too! Please don't despair about the 10 months thing - a few of us in here are in the same boat (10 months for me too, but with a mc thrown in). - having done that, I think Stasi's advice is very nice. We would never berate our friends for feeling sad about something they really want and haven't achieved yet - we would be sympathetic and kind, so I agree you should talk to yourself in the same way.

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 24/10/2011 20:18

Hello ladies! Just popping in to admire the new thread. (It feels a bit silly to call a thread with over 60 posts "new" but it was only started v late last night!)

Sorry to hear Farfalla is feeling down. I'm afraid I haven't got any words of wisdom, but I'm sending you a huuuuuuuuuuuuugggggggggggggggeeeeeeeeee hug! It WILL happen for you, and very very soon. I am CONVINCED!

Good luck to those holding out against AF tomorrow, remember to BROOK NO ARGUMENT, she is NOT welcome!!

possiblemaybebaby · 24/10/2011 19:51

I too have read this Imps I shall get myself a nice jar to make my own following your advice Smile

Rubbish about the meeting. Got to love 'procedures'

Imps7 · 24/10/2011 19:24

Haa got meeting pushed back until next week thanks to procedural irregularities!! Thanks for asking Maybe.

Imps7 · 24/10/2011 19:23

Maybe - I make my own self-raising flour! I've read in a couple of places that it's better to make it as you go along to ensure freshness (or something). Anyway, it's 2 level tsp baking powder to every 225g plain flour.

Re: Starbucks muffins - no idea how they make them so big...suspect a whole lot of crap air may be added to them somehow??

possiblemaybebaby · 24/10/2011 19:20

Imps how did your meeting go? Well I hope?

Imps7 · 24/10/2011 19:10
possiblemaybebaby · 24/10/2011 18:06

Of Far you poor thing, you are really going through it at the moment aren't you. Maybe to perk you up a bit, and also be nice to your skin, you should go for a nice facial? And maybe a nice steam/sauna. A bit of pampering is in order

I was going to mention PCOS too Munk, though it could just be a little blip.

Ooh, and Ninja re your muffin dilemma, how old is your self raising flour? I know when I have had mine for a bit, it loses its oompf

farfallarocks · 24/10/2011 17:36

munk that is great news (not the MC but the getting pregnant next cycle bit!!)

popcorn I was also put off by the sleb stuff but so many people were recommending it on PCOS boards I thought I would try it. I went for the least expensive package and its meant to last 60 days. Also says if you are not satisfied you can return the whole thing even ift he packet is empty! Seemed too good to be true!!

PopcornMouse · 24/10/2011 17:28

Ooo let me know what the ProActive stuff is like - I saw an advert for it but I was put off by the price and the celebrity endorsements (just b/c I thought it must be crapola if they relied on a teen rock star to sell it Blush )

DrMunkenstein · 24/10/2011 17:14

Farfalla I conceived after 16months naturally, but went on to lose that baby. However, I got pg on the next cycle! Funny how things turn out.

I was wondering about PCOS actually.

I use the witch stick for my huge zits or the Liz Earle spot on stuff.

Brooking for everyone!

farfallarocks · 24/10/2011 17:12

Ooooh thanks for that popcorn
I have just ordered the ProACtiv range online after looking at some PCOS boards!

farfallarocks · 24/10/2011 17:11

Thanks gals, you are all, exactly what I needed to hear :)

You are right popcorn it really has not been that long and we are fertilising, i am very thankful for that.

cake thank you :) Am also brooking for you

stasi hello and welcome, I have read your story on the TTC 10 months plus board and wow, you really are an inspriation, I like your suggestion if what would I say to my best friend, very clever indeed.

the spots thing, its not vanity, although I do feel a lot less like a professional woman and more like a blinking teenager. Its more that I think its a signal of what is going on inside me!

munk thank you so much for your post, what did you do in the end to have your dd?
By the way, have you had tests for PCOS? I have read that continued LH surges are an indication. That and pregnancy Wink

PopcornMouse · 24/10/2011 17:09

PS - if you're not using it already, I highly recommend Clinique's "type 4" exfoliator and oil-free moisturisers for daily use, and also Freederm gel (which is an anti-inflamatory) for when you can feel a big juicy one on the way. My skin is loads better now I use it.

DrMunkenstein · 24/10/2011 17:08

Thanks cake at least I have an appointment at the clinic in december if nothing happens, which it probably won't.

And Farfalla, as popcorn says it will happen. The waiting part sucks though.

CakePigeon · 24/10/2011 17:05

munk no idea about your abundance of LH im afraid, hope things become clearer for you soon though

PopcornMouse · 24/10/2011 17:04

:o

far, look at it this way if it helps, or ignore if not! - you have been ttc for 10 cycles but you have had 2 early mc so you know you and DH can fertilise an egg - which is half the battle? - and you're getting loads of top-notch investigation in to why said bean hasn't stuck to date.

As everyone insists on saying in irritatingly upbeat tones says, 10 cycles seems like an aaaaaage to us, but really it's not that long. 6-12 is completely normal. So you're nowhere near "it'll never happen for me" territory. Not even close. Lightyears off, in fact.

So, in conclusion it will happen for you but stressing about it will only get you cake, hugs, brooking and, if requested, slappage :o

CakePigeon · 24/10/2011 17:04

Thank you for the brooking everyone Smile

Oh far I'm so sorry you're having a bad time of it. I know it must feel like you're not moving forward because you're not 'trying' this month but you having tests done is progress. Once any problem is identified things will move a lot faster. Plus at least you are one step down the line as you do fall pg quickly so there is a silver lining. I know how you feel though we have been ttc a while now and AF turns up bang on 14dpo every bloody month while there are smug pregnant people everywhere. Sad hopefully we'll all get the chance to be pg and smug really soon!Smile

Stasi · 24/10/2011 17:00

Farfalla really sorry you're not having a good day. I'm going to refuse to give you a slap though. I changed how I deal with things recently, trying to understand what I feel, and why I feel it, and not letting anyone (even myself) tell me I shouldn't feel that way. When I'm feeling down, and don't like the train of my thoughts, I try and imagine what I would say to my best friend if they sat down and told me they were feeling just like me. Inevitably I find out I'd have a lot more patience with them than I would myself.

Really hope your day, and week, improves immeasurably.

DrMunkenstein · 24/10/2011 16:54

Farfalla I know I don't know you as well as the others on this thread, and they will come and give you good advise soon but I couldn't not post.

I know the excruciating pain of TTC, it took me a long time with DD. I used to avoid pg ladies, hide posts on FB and cower behind ailses in shops when i saw people I knew with their babies.

I used to go home and cry, a lot. After a year we were referred for tests.

I am sorry you are feeling this way, and wish I could say something useful to make you feel better. I hope your skin is not causing you any pain either.

I am here for a bit if you are around and want to talk.
