TheLittleFriend · 26/10/2011 20:15

Generic sorry you had to suffer the dentist as well today, but I also had a giggle at the idea of telling her how "popcorn thinks I might be in with a chance"!

Scrambled I didn't test with my dd after I found out I was pregnant either. I just didn't think to. I'm concerned that I will if when I get pregnant again though, now the idea has been planted in my mind!

Haaaa Shiny I have 4 pages of submissions re: the selection pool and the scoring criteria and a further 2 querying the business rationale and putting forward alternatives!! If my bridges are not already burned, they definitely will be by the end of my first consultation meeting!! Mwah ha ha ha ha ha!!

I do hope you went for the Ocado chocolate regardless of what might be going on in your Wonderful Womb.

Generic still no AF??? Scrambled I cannot wait to see what your temperature is this morning!

I am 2 DPO and my boobs have started with the post-OV tingling. Am bloated as a bloater fish too but that's it so far.

Right off to do some chores, have a bath and go to bed. Night all!

scarletfingernail · 26/10/2011 18:59

Grin at Scrambled I'm afraid I used all of my 25 internet cheapies, 2 FR, 3 CB +/- and 1 CB digi with this pregnancy Blush I managed to keep them going until after I had a scan at 8 weeks. One of my gripes with pregnancy is that my boobs never grow!

shiny I first tested the day before AF due. The internet cheapie had a very, very faint line (had to squint) and the FR showed a definite positive pink line which was still quite narrow but no room for doubt. TBH I wouldn't test any earlier than that with anything, the pee sticks are more likely to be wrong and show BFNs. The internet cheapies grew gradually stronger but I was about 6 weeks pg before I got a really strong positive from one. I'm glad I had them though, stopped me spending a fortune on proper ones.

Get Ocado to deliver your chocolate regardless. It counts as one of your 5 a day when you're pregnant Wink

ScrambledSmegs · 26/10/2011 18:26

Thanks scarlet, FR it is then! I'll see if I can pick one up on Friday.

People use the CB as a 'how pregnant am i?' indicator? Hmm. Blimey, I only tested once when I got pg with DD. I could tell I was still pg because of the vicious heartburn and ginormous boobs!

farfallarocks · 26/10/2011 18:13

Ooooh and maybe :)

farfallarocks · 26/10/2011 18:12

First response are actually a lot more sensitive than they fess up to, around 5iu
I was testing positive on those when my blood test revealed HCG at 11, internet cheapies (claiming 10) had been negative for days.

I only use internet cheapies to make my POAS stick obsession a but less expensive.

scarlet thanks for the tilted uterus reassurance, my grandmother also has one!!

generic brooking extra extra hard for you over here

shinyblackgrape · 26/10/2011 17:57

Internet cheapie allegedly a 10miu

shinyblackgrape · 26/10/2011 17:56

Scarlet

scarletfingernail · 26/10/2011 17:52

scrambled I am now a recognised expert at all things to do with pee sticks Grin and based on extensive research my recommendation is First Response.

Internet cheapies are great if you are an obsessive tester, you can PIAR every day and then if you see a hint of a line you can then go and buy a proper branded test.

If though you suspect you are updiffed yet have no cheapies go straight for First Response. Clear Blue +/- do seem to leave an evaporation line therefore you'll go mad squinting at it and holding it up to every light in your house wondering if you're preggo or not.

Clear Blue digitals are great for establishing if you are pregnant as it literally spells it out. However, I do not recommend you use these after you have your BFP. You will become obsessed with the conception indicator if it doesn't move along week by week exactly as you've calculated yourself. Loads of threads on here about it. "Clear Blue digi has been stuck at 3 weeks pg for 2 weeks" etc.

First Response don't seem to leave any evaporation lines and are also sensitive. I've not used any Supermarket ones but I've also heard that the Superdrug ones are very good.

Sorry Generic I did giggle a bit imagining you filling your dentist in with all the details Grin

possiblemaybebaby · 26/10/2011 17:29

That's the spirit Shiny Grin Your DH sounds like mine!

I am now home, thank goodness. Kettle is boiling and the slippers are on.

Poor you Popcorn we are a right bunch aren't we? Though of course solars is right, these are most defo preggo symptoms Smile

shinyblackgrape · 26/10/2011 17:24

I'm going out ce soir and I have decided that I am having a drink.

If there is anything in there, then I have decided that I want a robust type baby and exposure to alcohol can only assist!

PopcornMouse · 26/10/2011 17:19

rotfl @ shiny :o

PopcornMouse · 26/10/2011 17:18

That's the unfortunate thing about working from home - you have to be near hospitalised to take time off sick!

shinyblackgrape · 26/10/2011 17:16

Popcorn - I have sore boobies too. But I think that is from DH squeezing them to see if they are sore.

He takes it very seriously. However, the "Honk! Honk!" noises are a bit unnecessary!

Solars · 26/10/2011 17:14

Oooo Maybe things look promising for you!

For all of not quite feeling well and coming down with illnesses, surely these are pregnancy symptoms

NinjaChipmunk · 26/10/2011 16:37

you all seem to be coming down with illnesses, I shall brook no argument about it. And offer up vast quantities of honey and lemon. You need to rest. All of you!

NinjaChipmunk · 26/10/2011 16:35

shiny I can indeed corroborate that fact. They are unbelieveably similar. I have been having them since last week.

PopcornMouse · 26/10/2011 16:26

I knoooow, I get really bad boobie pain between ovulation and AF, and every month I'm convinced I'm pg! It's cruel, that's what it is! :(

Hope you feel better soon cake, I have the most horrendous sore throat :(

shinyblackgrape · 26/10/2011 15:58

Aaaaah Generic - it is so horrid. I see from obsessive googling casual research that AF symptoms are very similar to early pregnancy ones. How rubbish is that of evolution!

GenericDietCola · 26/10/2011 15:24

Oh Maybe thanks! I thought I had cramps this morning, but nowt since. No signs at all. Everything I feel could be AF or could be pregnancy-related eg sore boobs and a bit down.

Although I've just remembered the correlation between gum disease and lower fertility so am slightly cheered that in having my teeth cleaned I may have upped my chances by a miniscule amount

Can you go home early and rest, you don't look at all well

possiblemaybebaby · 26/10/2011 15:17

Generic if an ironic BFP isn't coming your way, then I am going to eat my hat. Have you any signs that the cow is coming?

GenericDietCola · 26/10/2011 15:14

Oh Maybe and Cake I really hope you feel better soon.

Just been to dentist (today has not been my favourite day) and had to have some x-rays, so of course she asked if I could be pregnant. I simply said it was unlikely although we are trying. I decided to spare her the whole 'well, I'm 14 dpo and I PIAR this morning and the stupid internet cheapy said no, but AF still hasn't come and Popcorn assures me there is a 12% chance the stick could be wrong, so who knows?'

So surely sod's law dictates that I will be pregnant now that I've had an x-ray and I will be one of the 12% getting false negatives at 14 dpo.

Superdrug tests hiding in drawer ready for Saturday just in case.

possiblemaybebaby · 26/10/2011 14:59

I am feeling your pain Cake I am living off menthol sweets, and trying to figure out the earliest I can leave. The only good thing is that DH is at home making a chicken and chorizo stew. Nom Nom Smile
