haha Farfalla there is also the Lenny the butcher too!! I never knew this really existed!

Bean sounds perfect!

BeedleTheBard · 01/11/2011 12:00

farfalla I'm not going to click on that link whilst I'm at work I'll wait til I get home. Though I should be surrounded by premium nordic sperm I won't need the internet Grin

beangrower · 01/11/2011 11:57

Oh and yes - I think me and DP are planning a big steak lunch (no carbs) while the little guy takes his nap. Can't complain.

beangrower · 01/11/2011 11:56

Solars - in that case, 40 is only a number and I can't report any adverse side effects at 40-1d. You're a spring chick for sure.

LOL at the nordic spunk. I think there's a lot of it to be had (and a good turnover) at our local English language school if the internet does fail you.

farfallarocks · 01/11/2011 11:50

Welcome to bean you are in the right place!

popcorn I have bought the Tracy Anderson DVD which had great reviews and she is responsiblie for Gywneth and Madonna's lithe physiques, I can't tell you if its any good cos its still in its wrapping I have tried it its great.

You are not allowed any more until you tell us what is going ok?

Solars · 01/11/2011 11:46

I will be joining you at that age next year [eek emoticon] & my DH turned 40 this year a couple of months ago!

Do you have anything nice planned for tomorrow?

PopcornMouse · 01/11/2011 11:44

Completely O/T....... can anyone recommend any fitness dvds they've enjoyed? I need to lose about a stone or two and tbh since working from home the most exercise I do is climbing the stairs on a morning Blush

hi! Oooo do I smell birthday cake? :d

beangrower · 01/11/2011 11:42

Why thanks Solars; has a bit of an edge to this particular birthday for obvious reason, but hey. Life begins etc. A new motto for the annum perhaps?

Solars · 01/11/2011 11:37

Welcome Bean and Happy Birthday for tomorrow x

Solars · 01/11/2011 11:35

Thanks Farfalla {{hugs}} to you too, would it be worth sitting down with your DH and explaining you are both on the same team and this is just as hard for you as it is for him, perhaps if he sees it from your point of view he may be a little more obliging, that's what I had to do with my DH. Personally I think you should stay away from the spunk from the internet Grin

Yes I did find some chocolate thanks Maybe

beangrower · 01/11/2011 11:33

Hello all

Just wanted to muck in with you all and wish you all the best. I've been TTC since the end of BF my DS (now 20 months) - so about a year. As my 40th b-day is tomorrow (!) and Lady Luck is not dancing in my direction - and with a little advice from one or two here (Ninja) I've realised it's time to pack myself off to the docs for a few tests. Am really in a sizzle because DS took 6 weeks of living together and wayhey, whambam etc... So 12 months second time round has sent me a bit doolally (plus all the expenses - acupuncture etc - beginning to feel rather futile). Getting a glimpse of how tough it is for those have been on this rollercoaster for the long-run, and how darned lucky I was to conceive so quickly at the tender age of 37 (plus homebirth aged 38, no complications). Can see there's some very inspiring determined women on here - am gunning for all of you!

TTFN

Bean

possiblemaybebaby · 01/11/2011 11:29

Oh Solars Sad did you find some chocolate? I too am quite lucky in that I only have one friend who is pregnant, and SIL had a baby in the summer, so I don't have too many smugs around me.

A bunged up nose you say Beedle definitely preggo.

Grin at Mater and Pater Ninja Your DS sounds hilarious, I love it when kids do things like that Grin

Biscuits hope you are feeling a bit better now. your DS sounds adorable Smile

Oh, and Popcorn you are far from an old bitter hag Grin

BeedleTheBard · 01/11/2011 11:23

is a cold a clear sign of being preggo?

Biscuits hope you feel better soon

welcome jazzy

farfalla my DP also struggles if I say we have to have sex today, so now we just have sex every other day for a week around the right time (we do have SFF as well once in a blue moon), but I do have very regular cycles so I can just tell him in advance. Not that we've suceeded but it does reduce the timing stress for both of us.

I must be very lucky as I'm not surrounded by preggos (though my best friend did have a little boy yesterday - she's thousands of miles away so I won't even get any newborn cuddles Sad) - I mostly work with men and most of our families and friends have alreday got kids. Having said that I did experience the pregnant Envy over the summer when DP casually said, "did I tell you SIL is having another baby?"

farfallarocks · 01/11/2011 11:12

Oh solars its so hard isn;t it? The first 6 thingys on my facebook last night were all baby related (various sprogs dressed as pumpkins) and a preggo announcement. I am beginning to feel like a social outcast I must admit.

Great that your DH is being a lot more compliant, I can totally understand the pressure they must be feeling but dammit, sometimes I just want him to do me. I feel I am always the one initiating something unless its a weekend (and I never blardy ovulate at the weekend) He would be totally on to me wiht hte bath/wafting about thing. Was so cross last night I was seriosuly considering ordereing some spunk on the internet.

Hugs

Solars · 01/11/2011 10:59

Morning!

Farfalla good luck with the appointment on thursday and hope it's just a simple correction that is needed I totally feel for your in terms of your DH, mine was a little like that, not so much performance issues but more his attitude of it'll be ok if not tonight but tomorrow and not realising that it needs to be tonight. However especially since being on cloimd I had to sit DH down and say that we can't waste these months that I am on it otherwise it would be pointless me being on them, plus a few tears went down well and so far he has been more than obliging even down to giving pep talks to his swimmers Hmm. I like Ninjas idea of wafting around him smelling and looking gorgeous!

Biscuits and anyone else feeling unwell hope you feel better soon

Glad to hear you are feeling better today DrMunkii

Welcome Jazzy hope that af stays away for you

Imps good luck with the meeting

Ok I'm feeling a little deflated now as I just logged onto facebook and the first status I saw was of a friend going on about how precious it is to be a mother - she has 4 kids all accidentally pregnant by the way, the last one she didn't realise she was pregnant until 4 months as she was on the inserted contraception thingy!! This doesn't normally annoy me but she's now taken to putting up memoirs of being a mother!!! Grrrr i'm off to find chocolate!!!

PopcornMouse · 01/11/2011 09:52

My cat is called Steve :o

Yes "mummy" 100% ok if said by a child, it's the women calling each other or themselves "mummies" that winds me up. But I am a bitter old hag :o

NinjaChipmunk · 01/11/2011 09:40

What about Mater and Pater? Dp's name is Steve and often ds calls him Steeeevve with an overly pronounced e. It really bugs him and so I find it very funny.
maybe DS is just 4 so should understand quite well when we do tell him. Its still so early that i'm very concious of getting carried away though.

Biscuitsandtea · 01/11/2011 09:33

Oh and I agree about 'mummy' unless used by or to a child, so ds calls me mummy (or my actual name when he's being cheeky) and I refer to myself as mummy for him.

I did wonder about training him to call us Mama and Papa, like in an Austen novel.... Grin

Biscuitsandtea · 01/11/2011 09:31

Think it's just a bug Maybe, although when I told ds that I had a tummy bug he started looking down my top for some sort of insect! Bless him, he asked me where it hurt and when I said 'my tummy' he was worried it was because of the baby.

He was none too chuffed at being shipped off to nursery though Confused

possiblemaybebaby · 01/11/2011 09:26

Oh Biscuits you poor thing, is this pg related, or a nasty bug? I hope it passes ASAP.

Ninja great news about the appt, bet you can't wait!! How old is DS? I bet he will be over the moon Smile

Oh Far how rubbish. Ninja's bath idea sounds great, followed by a nice massage perhaps? And really another announcement at your work today? Is there something in the water?

Popcorn the word mummy is nothing. I heard a little sod boy say 'mamma'. I kid you not [shudder]

Biscuitsandtea · 01/11/2011 09:24

Thank you for the soup Popcorn and the sympathy from everyone Smile

Munkiii · 01/11/2011 09:20

Morning all.

Thank you so much for your concern. I feel a little better today.

Normal service will resume shortly! Just a bit down, irregular cycles mean I never really know where I am so hard to get excited.

Cd32 today, am hoping I will follow the pattern of the past few months and have a 33-35 day cycle and not the 50 day cycles I sometimes have!

Hope everybody else is feeling ok, poor biscuits. Hope all the bugs and colds are disappearing fast.

We will all get there, wishing everyone strength to get through the day!

NinjaChipmunk · 01/11/2011 09:19

biscuits I think Blush works quite well for problems of the 'other end'! Poor sausage, make sure you drink lots of water to keep hydrated. It will go well with popcorns chicken soup.
I think the word mummy is only really okay if used by a child. It does sound quite smug otherwise.

PopcornMouse · 01/11/2011 09:13

Oh biscuits Shock

PopcornMouse · 01/11/2011 09:12

Oh and hi jazzy! :)
