The old thread seems to have run out of room... I'm hoping this works as a continuation...

Hi All, I'm back at home after a very long morning in the hospital. In for 8am but not in the surgery until 12.20. Very thirsty!
They only got 8 eggs so I'm feeling a little disappointed. They're talking ICSI which in my view isn't great, but I don't know all that much about it. Everything is crossed now that a good number fertilise tomorrow....
blacktreacle have you called your nurses? You may just be having a reaction to the drugs, but it's worth checking to find out.
I'm off to bond with the sofa & an episode of Glee before DH returns with DS.

Thanks for that description zeebee, you make it all sound quite pleasant :) I have been lucky enough that my collection is falling at the start of half term (I'm a teacher) so I have the week off afterwards. My parents are coming up to stay at the end of the week so it should be quite a nice one too :)

Just been spoilt by my DH who brought me breakfast in bed, he has been a total darling through the whole thing, doing my jabs for me and cooking the dinner etc bless him, even when I went off in a mental rage at him last weekend!

Are you doing anything special to celebrate zeebee or going to hold off a little bit longer?

MrsMigginslovespies · 22/10/2011 11:32

Oooh ohh, amazing news Zeebee really really thrilled for you! Congratulations at having pssed this hurdle and sending good wishes and more biccies for a happy healthy pregnancy!

Am off on hols up north but will check in to see how everyone is doing. Good luck all and have a lovely weekend. x

zeebee1 · 22/10/2011 11:29

blacktreacle and Cloclo thank you! We are delighted. So happy to have got this far - i'm even going to let myself read the bit in Zita's book on being pregnant! Have stopped myself so far and only read the negative bits!!

Anyway Clo - great re your final jab tonight. Enjoy your drug free day!

I too had never had anesthetic before so was v aprehensive - even up until being in the theatre - i could feel my legs shaking uncontrollablly! HOWEVER all that said it was fine - they put a stent (?) into your hand which is fine (needles are a doddle after everything we've been through eh?) and then there really is a nice feeling when you "Go under" it's like a wave going through your body, and you feel sleepy. The anethetist was asking me what i'd normally be doing on a Thursday and then as I was telling him, I could feel myself not being bothered to talk, and the neext thing was I was waking up with DH standing over me saying - "you've done it" ! Coming out of the anesthetic was amazing - you have your blood pressure taken automaticlaly ever 15 mins and you lie in the recovery area and have cups of Brew and Biscuit's - it's amazing how normal you begin to feel. They suggest you take it easy the rest of that day and then you might have a bit of cramping in the stomache area - so just take some paracetamol - they really work.
Are you taking a few days off work afterwards? It's nice to jsut chill and be lazy in front of COme Dine with me re runs etc Wink

anyway thinking of you for Monday morning Clo it will all be FINE.

ZB x

Cloclo15 · 22/10/2011 11:00

Congratulations zeebee! I'm sure you will be fine :) it seems like quite a lucky thread here so fingers crossed your scan will show everything growing nicely.

I have one more stimm injection to take at lunchtime then my trigger at 9pm. Already feel like I'm carrying around a bag a marbles, so will be nice not to stimm anymore tomorrow. Wierd not to have any injections for a day though.

What is EC like? I've never had an anaesthetic so not sure what to expect. Can you feel anything?

blacktreaclecat · 22/10/2011 10:50

Congratulations zeebee sticky healthy vibes

MrsMigginslovespies · 21/10/2011 18:22

Hello hello, lost you all, and was worried! Wonderful news Polly, really happy for you. And lovely to hear back from everyone else, am sending big happy vibes to you all.

So, I start my first jag tomorrow. I had my last G&T last night (not a drinker at all anyway, but thought we'd mark the night out with an old friend), had accupuncture today, bought lots of nice things to eat from M&S including SPROUTS, veg, other healthy things teacakes. Got my Zita West cd downloaded onto iTunes! What else should I do if anything for tomorrow other than get some sleep tonight and have a nice day tomorrow with DH and puppy?! We are away for a week happily on holiday up north, which is great as takes off some pressure.

V excited about it all actually, but being realistic about it all too. Trying to be positive and visualise myself preggers. Eek Smile.

Waves and teacakes for all,

x

bugsylugs · 21/10/2011 18:19

Good Luck Zeebee for tomorrow.
Well I am happy AF arrived how mad is that!! appt for inj 31/10/11, start DR 10/11/10 just need to find all the forms that have been moved from here to there several times over the last few months. Oh and start being good again. please remind me what I should be doing as have wallowed a little bit too much in lazy, red wine and lardy food what did people find the most relaxing??

Pinkforboys · 21/10/2011 17:55

Good Luck zeebee you've nearly made it!!!
My consultant called me today and we're still on stand-by for our test-tube-triplets. They still want to give them some assistance in breaking their shells. Having taken the call in the dino-exhibit I couldn't help but have images of little embryos with razor-sharp teeth gnawing their way out...
Meanwhile my abdomen is really achy- was this the norm for others?
I'm now on so many meds I can't keep track- I forgot my Clexane last night and had to take it this morning, only 12 hours late. I'm still waiting for a nurse to call me back to check if it's okay to take it again tonight...Given that it's almost 6pm perhaps I should resign myself to making that decision on my tod.
Happy weekends to all...x

Good luck for tomorrow zeebee

Had my scan this morning, started suffering backache last night which I still have today but this is apparently normal :/

Haven't got a number of follicles, just saw a chart with them plotted but I think there might be 25+ in total. 8 of them are just below collecting size so I have to do two more stimm injections today and tomorrow before doing trigger shot at 9pm tomorrow, followed by EC on Monday. Bit worried as I already feel quite uncomfortable and I've got two more injections to go!

Getting very real all of a sudden...

blacktreaclecat · 21/10/2011 10:43

Good luck for tomorrow

Pollykitten · 21/10/2011 08:32

Good luck zeebee, fingers, toes and everything crossed!

zeebee1 · 21/10/2011 07:23

blacktreacle & pink yey for good collections and good luck with the hatching.
I test tomorrow- arghgghghgghghh - pleased it's finally nearly here - altho nervous as anything Confused and scared as hell!
Ive had a terrible week- waking at 3 am regularly, crying in the evenings for no reason etc. No symptoms at all- boobs a bit sore, feel a tiny bit of pulling from time to time on right side near ovary. [humm]
roll on tomorrow and put me out of this misery!!

Anyway it's nearly the weekend- thats got to be a good sign!?!
Love to all & soooo glad i found you all!

Pollykitten · 20/10/2011 20:51

pinkforboys you made me laugh with your money grumble - sounds completely reasonable of you to me! It's vast amounts of money this whole thing!

I do agree with the others that the wait is the worst bit - because my boobs went down from football size and really sore to completely normal, I was so sure I wasn't pg - how wrong was I!

bugsylugs I'm on the south coast - it ain't the bahamas or anything, but I like it [hsmile].

blacktreacle & pink best of luck for this bit. No cheating and testing early! It's not worth it remember!

& thanks franchini for story

xx to all

blacktreaclecat · 20/10/2011 17:51

Hi the EWCM is due to the very high oestradiol levels. Your clinic will have you on a drug to prevent ovulation. I had this as well also very very tender boobs. They are a little better now but obv I'm hoping they'll get tender again. One thing I do know, no point symptom spotting. The first time I was pg I knew cos my boobs were so painful. The second time the hcg was v high due to t21 and even 17 dpo when I poas I had no symptoms at all until 6 weeks!

Cloclo15 · 20/10/2011 16:30

polly, congrats on your BFP, fantastic news :)

blacktreacle and pink, fingers crossed for you two. Good news on the frosties too

I have my day 11 scan tomorrow - if everything is ok, does that mean I will stop stimms and do the trigger injection on Saturday?

Also, is it normal to get excessive amounts of EWCM on stimms? Sorry if TMI but I was worried as that is normally a sign of ovulation isn't it?

blacktreaclecat · 20/10/2011 15:49

Franchini thank you for a success story. Gives us all hope
Pink this bit is stressful. Have chocolate xx
We have 2 frosties! Very pleased as I feel it takes the pressure off if bfn
Just back from acupuncture time for a nap!
Xx

Pinkforboys · 20/10/2011 14:27

Franchini- thank you for your lovely personal story. I need people like you! x

My test-tube-triplets are doing well, dividing as per instructed. But our embryologists now want to do Assisted Hatching to help them out of their shells. They're also being really vague about when transfer will be- tomorrow/Saturday/Sunday... Given my current over-hormonal state (oestrogen AND progesterone) I just feel like crying.
And am I terrible for hearing 'Assisted Hatching' and just thinking, 'Well that's another 500 quid...'?
Sorry for being so grumpy. A few hours of Glee and Greenwing and a big bar of choc are in order...

Hi All, I just want to offer my support to you all. And to say don't give up!!

After TTC for 6 years, we had 3 rounds of ICSI before we finally got our BFP (due on 8th Nov).

When we had our last egg collection we only got 3 eggs, one of which didn't fertilize, and one of which the embryo was poor quality. I was convinced we wouldn't get BFP and was devestated. We had the one good one and the one not so good one put back in on day 2. Again I was gutted as they didnt do a day 3 transfer or get to blastocyst. The embryologist didn't sound too hopefull and said they are better inside me than in a dish. Altogether I was convinced it would fail.

I spent 5 days more or less in bed watching DVDs, eating healthily and doing absolutly nothing - I was going to give my little embryos the best possible chance. (On our other transfers I carried on as normal.) I ate Brazil nuts, drank milkshakes and pineapple juice (all wife's tales I am sure!).

Anyway, I didn't have any symptoms at all and convinced it hadn't worked went back to work really unhappy and feeling like it wasn't fair etc etc (we have all felt those feelings of total dispair!)

I couln't wait the full 18 days before testing and get a really faint positive - overjoyed is not the word for it.

I just wanted to let you guys know that even with a really crappy egg collection and what felt like should be a really poor outcome you can get a BFP, so please don't give up. It is the best feeling in the world to get your BFP after so long. Please remember you are not on your own and there are LOADS of couples out there who are in the same boat, even if you feel totally alone.

My fingers are crossed for all of you IVF/ICSI couples out there. Big Hugs x x x

Congratulations Polly Grin heres hoping for a sticky, healthy boring pregnancy POlly where are you very jealous re sun ad beach
Blacktreacle well done hope you have a few distractions for the 2ww.
Zeebee is lost on another thread I am hopeless on computers can someone PM them with a link?

Really horrid day at work 11hrs and feel like I have been dragged through a hedge backwards mostly revived after bath and tea.

Hope all have a lovely evening

blacktreaclecat · 19/10/2011 20:11

Just one. My OTD is 13 days post day 5 transfer and is a Tuesday. Was hoping I could test on the Sunday which would be 11 days so that we are off work- need a good cry if it's a bfn. That would be 19 days post trigger and 16 dpo.
We said to the embryologist- just hope it sticks and she said it ought to, we don't see many as nice as that. Obviously we know it is euploid as well which helps a lot.
I'll bet you are over the moon!

Pollykitten · 19/10/2011 18:19

blacktreackle I tested 11 days after and didn't cheat!!! I was glad I didn't because false positives / false negatives can happen and what's the point in getting a result that you can't trust? Hatching sounds good - mine hadn't got as far as that along and here I am with bfp. How many did you put back in? Hope they like it in there!

blacktreaclecat · 19/10/2011 18:02

Congratulations pollykitten! Sticky healthy vibes.
Well ET over, gosh it is quite uncomfortable isn't it? The embryologist said it was a good quality grade 1/2 hatching blast so fingers crossed. OTD is 1/11 but that seems a long time for a day 5 transfer. How long after day 5 transfer did everyone else test?
Xxx

Pinkforboys · 19/10/2011 17:43

oh pollykitten that's fantastic news!! nonalcoholic Wine all round!
