Hey guys!! Have taken the big step of coming of the Pill to TTC another DC. This will be DC number 2 - already have DS who is 15 months old and a DSD who is 7 years. We have spoken about another baby for a while now but it has now become more of a reality now that we have decided to stop using any contraception!! I am so so excited but know all too well about this horrible waiting game of patience which seems to get worse even after a BFP as then it's the painful wait for a 12 week scan!! (although this time I may pay for a private scan) I have had a MC before DS was born so am also aware of not getting to ahead of myself...but I'm so excited nonetheless!! I bought my friend a little present for her brand new (with tags on) baby girl and was so so broody. Cant wait for my turn now!!

Sorry for the long warbling post. This is such a hard time, the pre TTC, the waiting for BFP or BFN etc etc...I am the most impatient person in the world as it is...and to not to be able to tell anyone in RL makes it even harder!!

Hope there will be some ladies in the same boat as me!! Look forward to meeting u and sharing journeys!!

Lots of love, Pip xx

Oh Vino!! That made me laugh, I was going to say yes, I will SWI for you but it sounds so wrong!! I am really nervous about my AF due date. I don't want her to come :( I want to be pg so badly!! Patience, patience.

cherrypiew3 · 07/11/2011 22:41

Minky this would be baby #4 for us but first cycle this time round. The only symptoms I have had in the past is that with dc3 I really noticed the implantation and I just knew what was going on the week after I got my BFP. So am on the look out for that this time round. Other than that I am not to good at ss problem is that most of the symptoms are almost the same as AF symptoms. I have no idea what is going on with CM I thought I ovulated last weekend but then this weekend I showed signs of ovulation.Confused This is my first month not taking the pill so I am wondering if that has something to do with it.

Vinolover · 07/11/2011 21:56

Welcome Hattie and Maketea. How exciting to have more ladies!

Does anyone else who has their visitor feel really left out? Im counting down the days until we can get on it again!!! Can the ladies who can go and have SWI for me please Wink

Fish the best thing you can do is take it really easy. Make out at work that you have hurt your back so you wont need to carry anything heavy or move any furniture etc. This is the reason I told work we were trying. Im sure you will be fine. The two MC I had were not affected by anything I did in the least but I don't want to take any chances.

Im off to bed now. I have another 12 hour shift tomorrow :(

MinkyMoodles · 07/11/2011 21:40

Cherry I have no idea what I'm looking for :( Boobs have felt like they'll drop off, when I take my bra off, since Friday!! CM has significantly changed since yesterday, but that's about it Confused

How's about you? Is this your first TTC?

Evening Everyone

Welcome Hattie & Maketea

Hattie I got married almost 9 years ago and I still have my wedding dress I just don't seem to be able to part with it.

Minky have you been ss like mad and have you found any?Smile

MakeTeaNotWar · 07/11/2011 19:03

Ooh cup I got married at 27 weeks prego, sporting a magnificent bump in my dress!

Thanks for the welcomes anyone, exciting times. Still getting my head round all the acronyms. Tonight on a rare night out together, DH and I are on our way to see the Red Hot Chilli Peppers! V excited and looking forward to beer in plastic pint glasses!

MinkyMoodles · 07/11/2011 19:03

Sparkle (I think) in your own words, it ain't over til the red b*tch returns!! Positive vibes, fingers & toes crossed!

Yorkshire pass the almond slices round :) Yum!

Well, DP wanted a pint up tut pub, but now he wants to go any but Call of Duty @ midnight! And no doubt he'll want me to go, "just to keep me company"!!! The things I do!

Fish does Mr.Donorr want any input as such? You must have a fab friendship!

Tequila come on then, what will DC's name be if you get a BFP this time round? Could be a funny one! Fishcupyorkshireminkykirrinpie? Got a nice ring to it Wink

Hattifattener28 · 07/11/2011 18:48

Yorkshire, Thanks for the advice on CD dates. As soon as the painters and decorators pitch up I'll be noting my CD1 date. Home made almond slices sound yum!

Hattifattener28 · 07/11/2011 18:44

Thanks for such a warm welcome.

I just told my DH what SWI stands for, he looked scared! Think I might have ruined my chances tonight.

Cup, that's so exciting you're getting married! Do spill the details on the dress. I got married two years ago and still have my dress, determined I'll wear it again one day. It's green so reckon I could pass it off as a ball gown. Not that I've been to a ball since uni, and I don't think a ball that ends with a donar kebab counts.

Tequilamockinbat · 07/11/2011 18:24

Thanks guys, I'm gonna go with your dates this month and if it works I'll name the baby after a bit of all of you Grin

Fish, don't you dare go anywhere! We're all in this together, remember Wink

kirrinIsland · 07/11/2011 18:04

secret don't give up yet - you're not even late :)

fish there's a list of foods to avoid on the NHS website, though the advice might be different over there. I'd also avoid hot baths and try not to lift anything to heavy. Other than that, just rest and take it easy - you're likely to get pretty tired at first.

I kinda feel left out of the SWI party Grin

Told the donor today and he reckons his swimmers are quote "like the Jean Claude Van Damm of sperm" Hmm he also thinks its a boy.

Now I'm trying to read up on everything not to do in pregnancy as they say the first 10 wks are the most fragile. Any of you second or third timers have tips on that?

Glad to know I won't be thrown off the bus Grin Definitely won't miss the 2ww and SS though (cough). My boobs still have no noticeable changes really, that was the 1 thing that had me convinced I hadn't done it this month!

YorkshireTeaAddict · 07/11/2011 17:24

Big bums and wiggly willies Secret :( What CD are you?

Minky, I am having a nice relaxing evening tonight :) Can't wait. Work was quiet which makes a change and DH is out until 10 ish tonight so I think I am going to bake some almond slice and have myself a bath :) Mmmmm. Then SWI!! Woot!

Evening all!

Welcome Hattie & Maketea

And so the dreaded 2WW starts! Already a noticeable change in CM. It's all very fascinating (please excuse my curiousness but been on the pill since I was 17/18)

Who else is 2WW? Cherry?

Fish you're not allowed to go, no grads can leave! It's a bit like the secret handshake club (Masons) for girls!

What's everyone up to tonight?

Cup description of dress please or pic on FB.

kirrinIsland · 07/11/2011 17:07

X-post Yorkshire At least we agree !

kirrinIsland · 07/11/2011 17:06

tequila speaking as a non-expert, I would say you should ov on the 16th or 17th, so I'd be swi'ing from about the 12th til about the 20th just to be on the safe side.

fish please don't go :) It would be nice if we all stayed - after all, hopefully this will start as a ttc thread and end up as a pregnancy one!

Welcome Hattie and maketea

YorkshireTeaAddict · 07/11/2011 16:43

You are exactly a week after me Tequila! Therefore, you should be fertile from the 14th - 19th Nov, due to OV on the 17th. I would recommend SWI every other day (for the freshest swimmers) during that time. So maybe, 13th, 15th, 17th 19th and 21st to be on the safe side :) Hope that helps!! x

Tequilamockinbat · 07/11/2011 16:37

Oops last AF was 3/11, I was looking at wrong week on calendar Blush

Tequilamockinbat · 07/11/2011 16:36

Welcome hatti, and good luck!

Because I'm do crap at this TTC malarkey I'm going to ask you guys for advice this month Smile

Based on a normal cycle, and last AF was 29/10, when do you think i should Be SWI?

I'm determined not to use OPK until after Christmas!

CupOfBrownJoy · 07/11/2011 16:25

Stupid job causing me to miss out on all the latest goings on on the bus.

fish I am over the moon for you - all that swotting up has paid off! Of course you can stay on our bus, we would all be totally lost without you, your lists and your superior obsessing knowledge....

disney, number 8! I am lost for words...!

welcome hatti and maketea - good luck to everyone for this cycle Smile

I'm beginning to think about putting my opk's away for a couple of months. I've seen the most beautiful wedding dress..... would be a bit spoiled with a mahoosive bump! (but a little one would be ok Smile)

YorkshireTeaAddict · 07/11/2011 16:16

Ooh, we should have an SWI party :) DO you know how to work out CD days etc? CD1 is the day you get your period/AF/red witch etc!! In a 28 day cycle which is average, most women ovulate around day 14 which means you should SWI every other day from about CD12 to CD17! That way you are more likely to catch an egg :)

Hattifattener28 · 07/11/2011 16:00

Glad stupid questions are welcome, I really am clueless. But stocked up on zinc and folic acid so I at least feel kind of prepared.

Not sure what to tell you about myself, I have some swotting to do before I can share CD dates etc. I'm 31, UK-based and slightly tea-obessed, which I think might be a shared passion looking at some of the great names on here. I don't have any little ones unless my two cats count.

Now I know what SWI means I will doing just that tonight!
